Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Religion. Just to

Religion. Just to let you know, Christianity is a pathway to a relationship with God and Heaven. Read the Bible and think again about what you believe. I'll go in depth later, but please tell me about what your religions are and what you believe. :)

Asking Mary to pray for us is praying to her. No, we do not worship her, we honor her and pray to her.

We do CCD!
I'm Catholic. We believe in some different things than protestant Christians, but we're still Christian. For example, we pray to the Saints and Mary, asking them to pray to God.  So don't worry we don't think they're God's or anything. :) We also believe in something called the Eucharist, which is a little hard to explain, but feel free to look it up! :)

I don't really know if god is real.  So I don't do anything about him.  "Maybe he's real.  maybe he's not.  I don't know."  That's what I say.

Sorry if I offend anyone, but I believe that only things I see/feel/smell/hear/taste are real. And, if I'm not touching something, then it's an illusion until I touch it. Only things I have experienced/can sense are real. I haven't (I think) felt god, so I can't believe in en*, as it would go against what I think. As for how people came to be, I believe in evolution, seeing as there are not hundreds, not thousnds, but probably millions of intermediate fossils. Dinosaurs with wings. Tikaalik**. All of these have been found, and I've seen a few.

*en: a gender neutral pronoun.
**Tikaalik: A fossil of a creature between fish and repitles

Sorry if this offends any one, but *please* don't zap this Admin! *bambi eyes*

weren't Tikaalik and the Archaepoteryx (I think that's how you spell it...) fossils found to be fakes, though?

Uhhh...... no. There is ZERO evidence they are fakes. There were faked fossils of mermaids, chickens with scales, or whatnot, but those are completely real. Archeopteryx was found at a site where there were other detailed fossils, clearly showing wings, and other fossils that were like the ones found at pompeii, where they had to make plaster casts. Tiktaalik was found in a mountain side, squished between two layers of rock that were formed when (scientists believe) reptiles come up onto land.

Of course they're not fakes. But they didn't evolve, either.

Please, I think we can kindly discuss religion without a) trying to convert anyone, b) getting upset, and c) getting offended.  I, personally, agree with Pirocks. :)

You NEED to watch Horton Hears a Who! :) :D But seriously, OK. I just hope someday you'll change your mind! :)

I've read it, and seen Suessical, which have similar themes, and Horton Hears A Who was about "A person's a person, no matter how small". Helping people. Not religion. I agree, you should help people. Even go to great extents to help people. And why, may I ask, do you wnat us to change our minds? It's good to have an opposing viewpoint, otherwise one group takes over, and kills everyone else. Sorta like totalitarianism.

Oh, what I meant was in the MOVIE (I'm not sure about the book) there's also a little of a theme about how no one believes in the who's world because they can't see them or hear them or smell them or feal them, so they just think it's a speck... while in the who world they don't believe that they're just a speck in another world, or that there's an elephant who's holding the speck. But I was just joking about the Kangaroo saying something like "I only believe in things that I can see, feal, or hear." But sorry don't take that wrong, I was only kidding around.  :D:D:D

To answer your question, ummm, well I guess if you ever have a religion you'll understand? It's not a hobby, it's a belief. I think maybe if there was one group there could be more peace. Because they would all agree, not kill the rest off!

I think that if the only way we can get along is by all having the exact same opinions, then we'd be better off not getting along.

Pirocks, have you ever seen a million dollars? If you haven't, then how do you know it exists?

As Luna Lovegood would say... ah, well, I can't quite recall exactly what it is she tells Hermione, but it's something about just because something hasn't been shoved in front of your nose doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And to quote Saint Thomas Aquinas, "To those with faith, no explanation is necessary. To those without faith, no explanation is possible."

Sorry... quotes... ;)
