Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

I really wish I could do public school.

But now everyone is going to tell me how awful it is and that I'm so lucky to be homeschooled, aren't they?

No, actually! At least I'm not. I know public school is different for a lot of people, and I think it's better for people who actually want to be there. But I've been homeschooled my whole life, and I'm going to public school for high school this fall--and I just want to say, I get you! Homeschooling can be great, great for your education and great for being raised in an environment that is often a lot better than what is in a lot of schools, where there are no parents to help their kids do the right thing. But (especially for extroverts) homeschooling can be kind of lonely, crushing, or lacking in some things. I'd say, if you're going to be continuing with homeschooling, find some activities to do, maybe look for homeschooling co-ops or exclusively-homeschooler activities, do things you like, use your free time (I'm assuming since you're homeschooled, you have a lot more free time on your hands than a lot of people) to develop skills you want, and take advantage of the opportunity to learn what you want to learn and how you want to learn it!

You've got a good point, Leafy, and I try to do that. Actually, the solitary-y-ness isn't very bad for me, bc I'm very introverted, but I do get lonely sometimes, and lately I've been nagging at my mom to let us go to a homeschoolers get-together or something.

Right now it kind of feels like no one really cares in general.

I had this odd conversation tonight, where I was trying to explain to ~10 family members why I didn’t believe in the multiverse theory, and I said as an example “in no universe is this (dead, cooked) chicken on my plate going to jump up and attack me. Agreed?” And all but one person said “no!”

I still don’t understand how the chicken could attack me...
