Chatterbox: Inkwell

Time Travel RP!

Time Travel RP!

So this is Part 2 of our "I was thinking..." thread (http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/108646) . True and I have been keeping it up for an entire year (yes, we litterally made the final post exactly one year later!). We've loved doing, and have decided to make a Part 2! This is for new people who want to join!

The idea is that you make a character that is related to someone famous in history, but that person can't be an actor, actress, singer, etc. For example, here's my character:

Dehlia Ludington.

Related to a heroine of the American Revolution: Sybil Ludington.

Lives in Fredericksburg NY, 1777

Suddenly transported to the 21st century.

Age: 14

Short length blonde hair, blue-gray eyes, exactly 5 feet, rather pale.

Personality: Quiet most of the time, yet speaks out passionately when its something she cares about, strong, dependable, loving.

And here's True's (I hope you don't mind my putting you character as an example):

Name: Doralynn Barton

Age: 12

Related to: Clara Barton

Lives: Maryland, at her Aunt Clara's house

Appearence: Curly Black hair, light skin. Is short. About 5'

Personality: Is kind to all animals. Is a nurse to animals. A tomboy.

The story line so far is that we just saved the world in the future thanks to "time tears". They're a liquid substance that allows time traveling. Well, we've all returned to our respective times. But we discovered the original way we showed up was we each had a time-tear-infused object. For Dehlia, it was a book. For Dora, it was a handkerchief. The characters still have these items, and we were thinking of starting another adventure! So this is open for anyone else to join!

Taday! I'm here! I told you I would write, and so I shall!

Dehlia ~

My thoughts kept revolving around Elexhiia's last visit. I thought about my previous adventures, especially with Dora. Everyday, I'd find the time to look at that book. Some days, it was all the pages, some it was just that one picture of all of us.

On particular day, things changed. I sat on my bed flipping through the pages, when they started to feel moist. I looked around, trying to figure out what was making them wet, but there was nothing. I looked back down, and suddenly I realized more pages had been added to the back, but they were blank. Suddenly the pages began to glitter slightly. I looked down at my hand, but it was fading away. My whole body. I realized exactly what was happening. I was scared, but also excited.

The next thing I knew, I was standing on the deck of a ship. The ocean sprawled out around in every direction. I hurried over to one of the sailors working.

"Excuse me, but where am I?"

He gave me an odd look. "The middle of the Atlantic Ocean," he answered.

"Yes, well, what is this ship called?"

He snorted. "The Mayflower of course!"

**********************************************************************

So, what does everyone think if we started our adventure on the Mayflower? We can change it of course, just a thought.

Awesome!I love the place and the time!

And, um, about all of the charries from the last part. I know that they were a big part of the story, but this is part two, and the authors didn't join up yet. I don't really think that we should use the characters so much, or at all if possible. What do you guys think?

And so we start again. :D

~Dora~

The days after I had said good-bye to my adventure were spent peacefully helping Aunt Clara in the day, and staying awake in my bed, remembering what had happened the last few weeks ago. Everything came back to haunt me as I laid awake there, and I started to wonder if I had really done such things.

I knew that such a thing would never happen again. I only had two things to remind me that it ever had happened at all.

The handkerchief that had brought me so much wild things was always with me. Its white lace edging and thin, pale pink cloth with a few flowers embroidered in the corner was precious to me. I forever thought that my father had good taste. He had given it to me. But all of the decoration on it, none of them amounted anything to the faint black numbers that were written on one of the edges. 2012 they read, the one thing that I had to remind me of what had happened. The other thing I had was memory.

A few days later, I was standing at the head of the stairs, staring once again at the handkerchief. The numbers were still there, real as ever. I remembered something that had happened, and smiled at the memory. Then, I stared at the numbers again.

They were . . . were they glowing? I began to grow dizzy.

"Dora!" Aunt Clara called me from downstairs.

I knew the feeling.  My head went light, and dizzy.

"Dora!" More dizziness. I could barely think. What part of me could was both worried and excited.

Then everything went black.

When I woke up, I was sitting against the wall of . . . where was I? My clothes were the same old-fashioned ones that I had put on earlier that morning, but I was defitanely not in Aunt Clara's house.

I stood up, then was almost thrown back again. The floor was rocking?! How . . . how was this possible?

I gripped the top of the wall, and - waaaiiiit a second. What short wall? I looked down, and my stomach gave a lurch. Many feet below me, the blueness of water reflected the bright sunlight. I was on a boat. When I looked up,my fears were confirmed. I was on a boat in the middle of the ocean.

A small boy, barely seven at the most, passed, and looked at me strangely.  I knew that my clothes would make me stand out, wherever I was. However, he was dressed a lot like someone who came from the past.

"Where am I, young sir?" I asked him, trying to sound playful.

"Don't you know?" he asked me, smiling widely, a slight accent in his voice, "You are on a ship."

"Yes, I knew that," I said. "But could you please tell me which ship it is?"

"The Mayflower, of course!" he cried out, then ran off, giggling.

I gripped the boat even harder. The Mayflower? What was I doing here?

Well Lord have mercy! If no one else shall write, then I shall.

Dehlia ~

I reeled backward a step. The Mayflower? I had time traveled again. Part of me wondered what my family must be thinking right now, but I shoved away those thoughts. I took a step back, looking around the deck when I tripped slightly, and looked down. A worn, brown satchel lay at my feet. I bent down, flipping open the flap, and gasped in shock. My book lay inside. The same one that had transported me here. I quickly flipped it shut again, and slung it over my shoulder. I started slowly working my way along the ship's railing, trying to act natural. I had no idea yet why I was here, but there was evidently a reason, and I wasn't going home till I found out what.

A little ways ahead, a girl stood who immediately stood out. Her clothing was nothing like the others around. I hurried forward, my breath coming faster, hoping against hope...

I laid my hand on her shoulder. She turned to face me and...

"DORA!" I nearly screamed in happiness. I threw my arms around her, embracing her tightly. I felt tears of pure joy pricking at my eyes. I had missed her, terribly.

**********************************************************************

So, since we're not hunting time tears, I thought we might need another mode of transportation, so I thought perhaps our items should be here as well. Thoughts?

Come on people! Introduce your characters!

I won't write yet, but I have an idea. BHR, I have an idea for a plot twist, and a chance to equal us to the others, who have no idea what's happening. What do you think about having our memories wiped? We'd know each other by name, and that we are/were good friends, but nothing else except our past and names in our proper time. That way, Errol and the others won't come up until later or something, and we will be just about equal to the others. What do you think?

Wow! It has been so long. I think I'll get back into it. I haven't been on Cricket in forever and this was a great RP + I know the story so this should be fun. Should I repost my character description?
