Percy Jackson RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Percy Jackson RP!

Percy Jackson RP!
I haven't seen one of these for a while, so I decided to make one.
In this RP, the satyrs have gone missing, so the gods themselves must help the demigods on their way to Camp Half-Blood. However, the gods can't help them directly. So instead, they put all the demigods in the same school, and left a copy of a Percy Jackson book, in hopes that they would come together and realize who they were.
The charrie sheet:
Name:
Age:
Immortal parent:
Any powers/ talents (You can have either 5 small talents, 2 big talents, or 1 talent and 1 power):
Appearance:
Personality:
Favorite weapon:
Background/Other:

Here's mine!
Name: Kalinda Patel (Indian)
Age: 13
Immortal parent: Hecate
Any powers/ talents (You can have either 5 small talents, 2 big talents, or 1 talent and 1 power): She has one talent and one power. Her talent is drawing, and her power is magic.
Appearance: Dark skin, and long, wavy brown hair. Brown-black eyes.
Personality: Very outgoing. She has a lot of friends, and is extremely nice. However, she is also show-offy.
Favorite weapon: Dagger
Background/Other: None

And here's another one!
Name: Sakura Kita (Japanese) (Last name means "north", first name means "cherry blossom")
Age: 12
Immortal parent: Apollo
Any powers/ talents (You can have either 5 small talents, 2 big talents, or 1 talent and 1 power): She has 2 big talents. She is extremely good at writing poetry and has won quite a few singing contests.
Appearance: Short, with straight black hair usually pulled up into pigtails. Her eyes are angled upwards (Unlike my own).
Personality: Very secretive. She doesn't want to be judged by her family. She's also a sad girl. And she does NOT trust anyone.
Favorite weapon: Sword
Background/Other: Her great-grandfather was a general in World War II, and she obviously keeps that secret. Her aunt also died from leukemia, because of an atomic bomb.
It would be cool if someone made a Chinese charrie, one who was killed by her great-grandfather! The conflict would be fun to write about. (Many Chinese were killed in World War II, but we only learn about the Western deaths in school.)

I will post in about an hour.....maybe two hours, sadly.

My family and I are going somewhere right now.

Oh and btw to everyone....let's please not throw ourselves into this, please? What I mean by that is if, like after only five posts it's suddenly "MONSTER ATTACK! Hey everyone did you know that you are all demigods? Your god parent is this, your god parent is this, etc....here's your mission. Who, have a good time!

That kind of thing really want cakes me off.

I think St. feels the same way...as she explained, that's why she left the HP RP......

Sorry for misspellings or typos; I am typing on an iPhone...and auto correct

Admin, did you change "god parent" to "godparent"? Because I meant "god parent" not "godparent". Their parents are gods.

Sorry. I just changed it back.

Julia~
“Oh my gosh, did he really dump her?” Alyssa said.
“Well,” Brittany replied. “I’m pretty sure. I mean, look, they’re not sitting together! I don't even see her. She's probably n the bathroom crying or something. They always sit together. And hold hands. They don’t care about the PDA rule. Nobody really does. And I heard from Siall who overhead Lia telling Diane and her friend that he dumped her for someone else! I’d place my bets on Trisha.”
“The bets are always on Trisha,” Alyssa agreed.
I rolled my eyes. “Seriously, guys, can we do something besides gossip? It’s not even true. Why do people trust anything Lia says? She’s always making things up.”
“Wow, Julia, you never accuse people like this,” Heather said. “You’re always so nice to people.”
“I am not accusing Lia of anything,” I said. “I am trying to put a stop to this nonsense by reminding you that she is not a reliable source of information at all. That is a fact, not a put-down.”
Once somebody asked me why I hang out with these girls. “They’re my friends,” I said. “But they’re kind of mean,” the kid had said. “I mean, not bully mean, but not very nice either.” They walked away before I could explain.
Explain that, out of the seven girls I hung out with (Halley, Kalinda, Brittany, Whitney, Alyssa, Heather, Claire), only two of them could really be classified as “not nice.” Those two would be Brittany and Whitney. The others are actually really nice. People just don’t get it, because of Brittany and Whitney.
Anyway, the reason we all hung out together is because we were the cheerleading team. “Popular.” Though I’ve never really liked that word. When you think “popular” you think of kids that everybody likes but are total ditzes.
I sigh. People underestimate me because I am a cheerleader. They don’t get that cheerleading is only one of two passions. The other one is technology.
“Of course you mean well, Julia.  I’ll bet all you passwords are just ‘be nice’.” Alyssa laughs.
The others laugh too, in a friendly way. Except Brittany and Whitney, who don’t say anything.
“Yeah, try that. I’m sure you can hack into my account,” I say sarcastically.
“Like anybody can do any sort of hacking at this school. Nobody cares about tech class.”
I do.
The girls launch into a conversation about pop songs that we’ve already discussed, therefore losing my attention. I look around aimlessly around the hallway, when I notice someone is waving at me.
It’s Sakura, a girl I teach computer programming. She’s really amazing at artsy stuff, like poetry and singing, but not so much in tech class. Yet she isn’t one of those people who just accept it and have a “whatever” attitude about grades. She actually makes an effort to learn, and she always picks up pretty quick. She’s actually getting pretty good at programming.
Hi, she mouths at me. How do you use a draw() function again to move a circle across a screen?
I pull out my phone, my fingers flying across the keyboard as I text my response.
Thanks, she mouths at me.
I nod, then readjust the textbooks in my hand. I head towards my next class.

Halley~

"The bets are ALWAYS on Trisha," one of my friends says.

A bit more dialogue is said. But then Julia speaks up. A lecture about gossiping. Usually I would listen but then stop paying attention. But I keep my attention. Because it makes sense. Part of me wants to back her up. The other part of me wants to say we gossip because it's fun. I say nothing. Julia finishes her speech. She looks sort of upset and I can't believe she said something sort of negative. The rest of my friends launch into a conversation about pop songs and I join them. I look over at Julia because I want to ask her if she is Ok. But she isn't looking at me. She is looking at a girl who I think is named Sakura. Sakura is waving and mouthing something. Huh. Whatevs Halley, I tell my self and go back to talking about Taylor Swift.

Mei, I gave you the link in another thread and it's right up there in the first page of the DtE.

Owlgirl, you represented Justice perfectly!

____

Helena~

"Justiiiiiiiiiiiiice!" I call to my sister. She's at the other side of the hall, but really, I don't care at all about that. "Hiiiiii!"

She looks up, shuts her locker, and walks over. "Can't you just speak normally instead of bellowing your tonsils out in the halls?"

"Well, I could, but it really wouldn't be any fun at all. And speaking of fun, guess what we're doing in science?! Lab! We're starting lab! The first thing I thought of when I heard it was that she was bringing in a dog, which would have been fine too, but it's experiments instead! She says she might even get permission to let us use fire. Imagine that! Fire! With third graders! Although I suppose bringing a dog in is just as outrageous. Outrageous. I learned it today. It's a good word, right? And speaking of words, did you know lab is actually short for labrador? We make abbreviations for everything now! Lab, memo... yeah, memo's one too, can you believe that? It's short for--"
I look around. Wait, where'd Justice go?
She does that a lot. I don't see what's so wrong with talking, unless you're talking to yourself a lot, which I find myself doing because everyone always walks away. I don't quite understand why they leave, but whenever I try asking they're already gone because I've been talking about other stuff first. At least I got to the important part this time.

What do I have next? Math. I don't like math. Our math teacher is okay, but he does a lot of note-copying and not enough interactive stuff like in science. He says it's fine if I get up and walk around because I have ADHD (Justice says that stands for Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), but that isn't nearly as good as being able to do it for schoolwork. Besides, then I'm missing notes and I really do want to learn, it's just that it all goes by too slow.

Justice says, though, that there are schools where you have one teacher the whole day and the only reason I'm in the same school as her is so that that doesn't happen to me. She says that our dad thinks that if we get to move around through different teachers more, our ADHD won't kick in as much, and then she started to laugh. I didn't really see what was so funny, but I laughed anyway because I like laughing and I didn't want to let Justice know I didn't understand... again.

I don't understand a lot.

But my teachers say I'm very gifted and a fast learner. When I ask them why I don't understand Justice, they laugh too, and then they say it's a combination of being siblings and her being older than me. I know she knows more 'cause she's four years older, but I don't understand the siblings part. Aren't siblings supposed to get along? Because we do. It's just that Justice has a lot of... inside jokes, my music teacher called them.

I step into the math classroom, find my seat, and start to write, my knee bouncing with the rhythm of my hand.

Oops, I meant to say that Jake is 14, not 13.

Jake-

I crouch down, my right leg stretched out behind me, my fingers lightly pressed on the ground before me. They’re mostly to balance me, not support me.

I glance at my fellow runners next to me They’re all boys, except for one: Alana Rivers. She has deep blue eyes the color of the sea, and wavy brown hair dyed a brilliant turquoise at the ends. It's tyed up in a ponytail right now. Or is it a pigtail? No, wait, pigtails are usually no the side, right? Whatever, I don't pay much attention to girl vocabulary. And I'm pretty sure it's called a ponytail. Tall and tan, Alana is very pretty- but not in a delicate way that most boys seem to be fond of. She has more of a...sturdy beauty. A rose with thorns.

Not that I like like her or anything- I'm just observant, more so than most people expect. Along with me, Alana is one of the fastest kids on our school track team.

Coach Mekar checks his stopwatch, and holds his finger over the START button. My muscles tense, ready to spring into action.

"Go!"

I take off.

Like so many times before, I'm struck with that strong, strange urge to not only to run but to release- release the energy within me. I take a deep breath and push the urge to the back of my mind for the umpteenth time in my life. It's a brief struggle, but it's one I always get over pretty fast. I will run with my raw, honest, human strength.

Not with my powers.

I've had it for ten years. I've only used it once, when I first discovered I had it. Since then, I've kept it a secret from everyone, even my parents. They are completely unaware that I am anything but their cheerful, athletic adopted son. They are completely unaware that I can run at a superhuman speed and jump abnormally high- almost six feet.

I have no idea why I can do this. When I was younger, I would read a fantasy or sci-fi book once every three days, searching for a clue, an idea, something that might give a hint as to why I have these powers.

As a result, I found nothing, but I do know a whole lot about aliens, wizards, dragons, and ogres. I did read some pretty good books.

I've just learned to live with it, and hide it. Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with my real father, who died shortly after I was born, or my mother, who nobody knows anything about. She could be dead, alive, missing...anything.

But I don't long for them. I don't have any memories of them. I have two perfectly wonderful adoptive parents. Dad is the CEO of a large technology company, and Mom is a real estate agent. They are both very busy, but they still find time for me. I love them more than anything in the world.

Six minutes and twenty-three second later, I have come to a stop.

"Six twenty-three!" Coach barks when I ask what my time is. "Alana beat you by eleven seconds."

I turn around, and Alana's standing there. She smiles."Mm, maybe next time, Jake."

"Maybe next time," I repeat. She goes to the water fountain and takes a quick drink.

I blink. I suddenly notice that somehow, she's not sweating at all. in fact, she seems more energized than before. Maybe she has really good speed and stamina.

Coach dismisses us. I hurry to the boys locker room to change out of my gym clothes.

**************************************************

Tee-hee, see how I worked the daughter of Posiedon thing into there...hm, I wonder why Alana's so energized...after DRINKING FROM THE WATER FOUNTAIN.

This is kind of irrelevant, but I just want to point out that Taylor Swift is really an excellent role model, a jackpot of quotes, and definitely has a brain. She's also on TIME magazine's Top 50 most powerful women in the world.
