Percy Jackson RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Percy Jackson RP!

Percy Jackson RP!
I haven't seen one of these for a while, so I decided to make one.
In this RP, the satyrs have gone missing, so the gods themselves must help the demigods on their way to Camp Half-Blood. However, the gods can't help them directly. So instead, they put all the demigods in the same school, and left a copy of a Percy Jackson book, in hopes that they would come together and realize who they were.
The charrie sheet:
Name:
Age:
Immortal parent:
Any powers/ talents (You can have either 5 small talents, 2 big talents, or 1 talent and 1 power):
Appearance:
Personality:
Favorite weapon:
Background/Other:

Here's mine!
Name: Kalinda Patel (Indian)
Age: 13
Immortal parent: Hecate
Any powers/ talents (You can have either 5 small talents, 2 big talents, or 1 talent and 1 power): She has one talent and one power. Her talent is drawing, and her power is magic.
Appearance: Dark skin, and long, wavy brown hair. Brown-black eyes.
Personality: Very outgoing. She has a lot of friends, and is extremely nice. However, she is also show-offy.
Favorite weapon: Dagger
Background/Other: None

And here's another one!
Name: Sakura Kita (Japanese) (Last name means "north", first name means "cherry blossom")
Age: 12
Immortal parent: Apollo
Any powers/ talents (You can have either 5 small talents, 2 big talents, or 1 talent and 1 power): She has 2 big talents. She is extremely good at writing poetry and has won quite a few singing contests.
Appearance: Short, with straight black hair usually pulled up into pigtails. Her eyes are angled upwards (Unlike my own).
Personality: Very secretive. She doesn't want to be judged by her family. She's also a sad girl. And she does NOT trust anyone.
Favorite weapon: Sword
Background/Other: Her great-grandfather was a general in World War II, and she obviously keeps that secret. Her aunt also died from leukemia, because of an atomic bomb.
It would be cool if someone made a Chinese charrie, one who was killed by her great-grandfather! The conflict would be fun to write about. (Many Chinese were killed in World War II, but we only learn about the Western deaths in school.)

Jake-
I'm a little confused when the announcement comes on that we're returning to first period instead of Homeroom, but I recover quickly. My next period is Science.
I look to my left, and Alana is there. Her hair is down now, and she looks even nicer.
"What do you think of this?" I ask, running my fingers through my hair.
She looks surprised and vaguely annoyed. "Your hair?"
"What- oh, sorry, that's not what I meant. I was talking about, you know, us having to go back to first period."
"Oh! Studying elements is easy!"
"Really?" Elements are the hardest thing in the world for me! But of course I would never admit that to Alana.
"Yes. I don't usually think that about most subjects in Science...but my mom made me memorize the Periodic Table when I was six. No idea why. See ya!" She rushes ahead.
I suddenly become aware that I was running my fingers through my hair when I was talking to her.
I only do that when I'm nervous.
Why would I be nervous just talking to someone?
Just talking to a girl?
An athletic girl.
An athletic girl with deep blue eyes
A pretty, athletic girl with deep blue eyes.
Realization hits me again.
I think I might like her.
Like-like.
**********
Science is over.
"Last class of the day is over with! Thank goodness! Can't wait to get home!"
I pack up my backpack and walk to the end of the block, to where I can't really see the school anymore, where nobody there can see me. I stand under the big oak tree, like I do every day. I wait, like I do every day.
When will Randy get here?
As if commanded by my thoughts, the black limousine pulled up at the corner where I was standing. The door opened, and I climbed in.
"How ya doin, mate?"
Randy is our driver. He's part Irish, part Australian, and something else that I can't remember. He always wears this huge baseball cap that he actually pins to his head. I don't think he's ever taken it off.
Yes, he drives a limousine. My parents own a limousine and pay a driver to drive it.
I've always tried to keep the fact that my parent are rich a secret. It's not that I'm ashamed or anything...it's just that I don't want people to judge me because of it. I don't want to be come like those mean cheerleader sisters Brittany and Whitney, who are popular, and feared/respected but out of fear by the less well-known kids in the school. I don't want that. So when the limo comes to pick me up, I walk to the end of the block so nobody sees it.
Randy always does a u-turn so we don't have to drive past the school. I told him to do this because two years ago, we always drove past the school. It sparked a whole bunch of legends, and was referred to simply as "the Black Limo". People made up stories, like it belonged to a seclusive billionaire who never went outside because he was unbelievably ugly, or he had a rare disease. Others said that it belonged to a spy, or an insane killer.  I couldn't take it anymore.
**********
Home sweet home.
Mom and Dad aren't home yet, so I fix myself an ice cream sundae, do my homework, and go to bed.
The last thing I remember before I fall asleep is thinking, "A perfect end to a perfect day."

@Hermione A- I LOVED how you used Alana! That was great!

Alana~

RUnning is the best feeling in the world. I feel like when I run, I can forget all my problems. Of course, after class, all my problems return. I'm the only girl on the track team, but that doesn't really matter. The boys don't bother me and I don't bother them. Really the only person on the team that talks to me is my friend Jake Harris. He's one of the fastest runners, along with me. We get along pretty well. He's really nice, unlike me. I'm pretty rude and sarcastic to everyone.

After class, I take a quick drink from the water fountain. Walking away from it, I feel different. Less tired, less sweaty. I have more energy. I feel like this whenever I drink water, but I usually bring Powerade or Gatorade to class because it almost feels like cheating. I drink water, I suddenly have more energy, when everyone else is still tired and sweaty. Today I forgot my bottle of Powerade, as I was running late for school and ran out of time.

I walk into the girl's locker room and grab my gym bag. There's already a group of cheerleaders gossipping and a couple basketball players walking out. I step into one of the shower stalls and rinse off quickly and change. Stepping out of the shower stalll wearing jeans and a red tshirt, I quickly dry off my hair with a towel and run to class. I run into Jake on the way, and he tells me that we're returning to first period instead of Homeroom. Interesting. I wonder why?

"What do you think of this?" Jake asks. I notice he's running his hands through his hair. I know him well enough to know that he does that whenever he's nervous. Why would he be nervous?

"Your hair?" I say.

"What- oh, no, I meant returning to first period." He replies.

"Oh! Studying elements is easy."

"Really?"

Yes. My mom made me memorize the Periodic Table when I was six. No idea why. See ya in class!" I say, running off.

~~~
Finally, class is over. I quickly grab my books and homework from previous classes out of my locker, then walk outside towards the direction of my moms house. It's really hot out, so I take the longer path through the park, under the shade of the trees. Along the way, I notice Jake standing under a tree. He looks like he's waiting for someone. I hide beind a tree and watch him. A big black limo drives up, and he gets in it. Jake has a limo!? I keep walking home, thinking about what I saw. Jake's family must be really rich, if they can afford a limo like that. I decide that I'm not going to tell anyone what I saw, because he went an entire block away from the school to be picked up. he must not want anyone to know.
Jacinth~
I sped up, peddling fast, as the rain begins to fall harder. My rhythm of peddle, peddle, slip, slip, zoooom!  Turns into peddle, peddle, slip, slide, SPLASH! as the rain pours, quickly gathering in streams and small puddles along the road. One more downhill until I turn onto the dirt road leading to the Diamond Family Farm. I start to sail down the hill, but things go wrong. My bike slips to the side, and in trying to balance it, both of my sandeled feet slide right off the peddles. In that second, I lose control. Grabbing on to the handlebars and trying to restore balance, I yank the bike into a jolting rush down the hill at a way faster pace than I usually ride, even on hills. Attempting to regain control, I squeeze the brakes. Bad idea, as I was already aiming for the side of the road. In an instant, I careen off the road and into a huge oak tree. My helmet slams against the tree, and my bike slams on top of me. Grumbling, bruised, soaked, and muddy, I push the bike off of me and ride the rest of the way towards the dirt road. I stop for a while and let a few cars pass, then start riding on the bumpy road. I've only gone a few feet before my bike gets totally and completely stuck in the muck. C'mon, it's not so bad, I tell myself. I try to smile, but rainwater tasting of dirt and tree bark runs into my mouth. All right, maybe it is.
~Kalinda~
"Kah-leenda!" my mother calls. "Have you washed the deeshes yet?"
"Yes, Maan*, I did." I call from my room.
Leaping off my bed, I reach for a library book on my desk.
It reads, Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief.
I had found it in the locker room after gym class and it had no name or call number on it, so it didn't belong to anyone and wasn't a library book. So, I thought, Why not?
I open it and start reading.
"But if you recognize yourself in these pages--If you feel something stirring inside--Stop reading. You might be one of us. And it's only a matter of time before they sense it, too, and they'll come for you."
How creative, I thought. They make it seem like demigods are actually real.
Immediately I am entranced by the book. Rick Riordan's witty humor, the mythology, everything! I stay up until 10:30 reading, until my parents come and yell at me to go to sleep.
@Mei:
Since about 50% of people at my school are either Indian or Chinese, I have a quite a few friends who are Indian, and Hindi. they call their mom "Ama" and "Apa".
Wait, just Googled it....hm, apparently means "mother of three children"....
Entering brainstorm area...broadcasting live, so anything that doesn't make sense...sorry
What if tomorrow (not in the real world...I mean the next day for our charries) is the day they all start reading PJO? I know Kalinda started reading already, so I guess she's good, but what about the rest of us.
Maybe we receive books one by one......oh, what about a book club! Somehow we all get into a book club....
But a lot of our charries aren't book people....they almost have to be forced in some way....
how about they all get notes to head to...i dunno, a conference room immediately. In the room, there's a copy of the lightning thief on the table. and they get locked in for like, two hours.
But there's a loose end here:
What would convince them to believe it? What would be osmething they could all relate to, and lead them kind of desperate for an explanation.....
Good, good, good idea!
How about a monster attack right before it?
And before that, the assembly. It's some "historian guy". CHIRON! He can be the person to come and unlock the room.
If ya don't mind, I'll start on this lead in my next post........which should be right below here.....
........right here:
Jake-
This morning, an announcement comes on to report to the cafeteria for the assembly.
I enter the cafeteria and ask the kid next to me, "What's this on, again?"
"It's a historian," he replies. Before I can ask anything else, the assistant principal tells everyone to be quiet. A man in a motorized wheelchair rolls onto the stage. He has mostly gray hair, with some visible strands of brown. He seems very wise.
"I am Mr. Brown here to talk about Greek history and mythology," he said, then started his lecture.
After that, I got my stuff and started walking across the courtyard to my next class, along wth about fifty other people.
Thank you so much for not continuing that last post...I knew what I was going to type, and I intended to type it, but my mom told me to get off the computer immeddiately.
Jake-
After that, I got my stuff and started walking across the courtyard to my next class, along wth about fifty other people.
Suddenly I felt a thud in the ground, almost like a giant had just stomped his foot. I stumbled, and the books flew out of my hands.
Twelve other people dropped ther books in unison, and looked around confused.*
But the weirdest thing was the fact that nobody else besides us had noticed us. They hadn't dropped their books, they hadn't even flicnhed.
They keep walking as we gather our scattered possesions and soon me and the other poeple are the only ones on the courtyard.
I finally have all my possesions in my hand when I hear a roar.
Halleysomebody wearing a huge animal mask on its head
I am frozen in fear as it stomps towards us.
It looks like a large human, but its head...its head...
"MINOTAUR!" Kalinda  screams, her face pale. "I told you it was real. I TOLD YOU!"
The minotaur charges, and
shoot, lunch is over, please, i will continue some time around 2:30.....please don't cut me off. If you need to post, can you please post, like, how your charrie finished the day or whatever, like Jacinth and Ianthe and Jake......i am so sorry, i just really want to continue this.....please, gtg
Sorry for the delay!
Jake-
......"MINOTAUR!" Kalinda  screams, her face pale. "I told you it was real. I TOLD YOU!"
Halley, Kalinda, and Julia, who had been walking together, run behind a trash can. Jacinth follows. Over the chaos, I hear Halley scream at Jacinth to dial 911 on her phone.
"MY PHONE WAS CONFISCATED THIS MORNING!" Jacinth screamed back, her usual cheeriness gone.
"911 won't help us!" Kyanite yells to them as he pulls out his bow and arrow.
Wait, his bow and arrow?
Kyanite starts firing arrows at the minotaur, but it barely slows it down. It starts towards Ianthe.
Sakura runs over to a tree and yells, "Jake!  Alana! Chris! Get over here!"
We rush over to her as Helena and Justice run towards the minotaur, distracting it and taking its attention from Ianthe to the two sisters.
"RAAAAWR!!!!!!!"
"Quick, start ripping tree branches off this think. We can use them to fight that...that thing."
The two other athletic kids and I start pulling off the longest branches we can find. We swing them at the minotaur.
Kyanite continues to fire arrows, and the minotaur screeches at him.
"Over here!" waving my stick like a maniac. "Stupid cow! Ugly bull!"
The minotaur snorts with fury.
Good news: He turns away from Kyanite.
Bad news number one: He turns so quickly that his arm swipes around and hits Kyanite, who slams up against a tree. Whether he's unconscious or too dizzy to move, I can't tell, but he's not in the shape to fire arrows any more.
Bad news number two: Now's focused on us. And the word "us" includes me.
"Crud," I mutter.
***************
CONTINUE THIS PLEASE! I left lots of loose ends, and I don't know quite what to do next...
