Percy Jackson RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Percy Jackson RP!

Percy Jackson RP!
I haven't seen one of these for a while, so I decided to make one.
In this RP, the satyrs have gone missing, so the gods themselves must help the demigods on their way to Camp Half-Blood. However, the gods can't help them directly. So instead, they put all the demigods in the same school, and left a copy of a Percy Jackson book, in hopes that they would come together and realize who they were.

It would be cool if someone made a Chinese charrie, one who was killed by her great-grandfather! The conflict would be fun to write about. (Many Chinese were killed in World War II, but we only learn about the Western deaths in school.)

Brace yourselves. This is going to be long. Please read it, though, because it includes some info.

Kyanite~

In between the highschool and middle school, there is a large, open courtyard that faces the woods. Every day, I'm forced to walk across the courtyard to get to other classes, mingling with kids of other grades as I do. I'm always wary, seeing as I've been attacked once before in the small strip of woods. When I hear screaming, I can only deduce that my nightmares are about to be played out again. There's always the thrilling terror that I might not survive this time. I don't know why this happens, seemingly only to me, but when you know that something is trying to kill you, it hardens you, making you alert, quick, and ready at the slightest hint of danger. I whirl around to see a massive beast covered in matted hair thump through the woods, growling and crashing as it clears a path for himself. The creature is tall and bulky, with evil red eyes and hands that could easily squeeze the life right out of me. I close my eyes for a fraction of a second while the monster surveys the scene. About twelve other kids are in back of me, screaming. I've learned that people don't see these attacks like I do. They probably see an escaped bear about to tear me into bite-sized peices. Analyzing him in my head, I try to figure out the best way to fight him. As I open my eyes, the monster charges. I jump out of his way and land in the pinestraw. My eyes settle on a rotten stump with something sticking out from behind it. My bow. A lump forms in my throat. I haven't used it in at least a year, when I told myself that I would go nowhere except for the orphanage and school. To protect myself and others. My bow had been another gift from my dad. He loved old weapons. I used to carry it around with me once I figured out that no one else could see it, but I'd left it in the woods after the last attack (which was in this very spot). No time to think. I grabbed the bow and scooped up the half-full quiver, throwing aside one arrow (it was snapped in half and covered with monster dust), and aimed at the monster, trying to not hit any of the kids running around screaming. My first arrow misses, and my second arrow only makes him mad. I notch the third arrow.

"MINATOAR!" Somebody screams. I'm so surpised that I miss the monster by mistake. The third arrow flies straight into a nearby trashcan. I stand stunned for a few seconds, because what that girl cried sounds deadly acurate. Could they possibly see the way I do? I start to move slowly to retrieve my arrows. One of the kids destracts the monster, and I dive the other way, almost reaching the trashcan. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the monster's huge, hairy hand swoops towards me. I try to roll to the other side, but he's to fast. The impact of his fist against my chest sends my flying. Before I can react, I slam into an oak tree. Stunned, I try to stay awake, but the blow was too heavy.

~

"Report to conference room B."
"What?" I sit up, shaking my head to clear it. Everything is fuzzy and indistinct.
"Report to conference room B." The voice says again. A woman is standing in front of the other kids. Her eyes look blank. I've seen that look all too many times. Mist. That's what Dad called it, didn't he? The memory is too fuzzy. I stand up, ignoring the throbbing in my head.
"It's the mist," I mutter.
"What?" Asks a girl with dark hair. I realize that she's wearing my quiver. She must be able to see it... but that's impossible!
"Never mind." I can't beleive I said that out loud.
"I guess we go to conference room B," someone suggests. When we get inside, I lean against the wall for a few seconds. My head aches, but not just because I was knocked into a tree. It seems so impossible that these people are really seeing things the way I do. Was it an escaped bear, or a ravaging monster? Only I see these strange attacks aimed at me as a mixture of mythical monsters. Or so I thought.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" The girl with dark hair asks. I notice she's still wearing my quiver. I push her away.
"No, seriously." I squint at her hand, but it's hard to tell because there are two of everything.
"Four?" I answer. She looks at me funny.
"Do you really see four? This is two. "
"C'mon!" Someone yells from further up the hall.
"Whatever, I've been through worse."

Maybe eventually she'll start to like him back...... You'll never know.... *disappears into the shadows*

Alana~

The Minotaur is real. And it's attacking us. I had read about Minotaurs in my history textbooks when we did a unit on mythology about a year ago. I don't remember much, except that the Minotaur is big, ugly, and trying to kill us.

I tear a branch off of a tree and start slashing at the Minotaur. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a girl doing something on her phone. She yells,

"I'm HELPING us!" I hope she's right. I hear someone else scream,

"Try and back the Minotaur into that corner!" I do just that. Slashing at its feet, it stumbles away from me and... towards Jake. He's trapped in the corner with the Minotaur. He was a goner, until he jumped six feet in the air, yelling like a maniac, and lands on top of the Minotaur's head. I see Julia controlling a crane, probably trying to drop the box it's holding on the Minotaur. I don't question it. Jake starts stabbing the Minotaur's head with his stick, the rest of us stabbing its feet. Suddenly, the arm of the crane reaches over the top of the Minotaur, but the box doesn't drop. We're doomed. Sakura kicks the machine, and the box falls, causing the Minotaur to disentigrate into dust. We're saved. Until Mrs. Parks, one of our teachers, walks out. She stares at us with blank, glazed eyes and says,

"All of you, report to Conference Room B immediately." Jake steps up to her and tries to explain the situation without sounding crazy. She ignores him.

"Report to Conference Room B immediately." I wave my hand in her face.

"Are you even listening to us? We were just attack-"

"Report to Conference Room B immediately." She drones. I shoot a defeated look at Jake, then walk inside.

Note about Over-Powers:

Owlgirl, it's fine that Julia can hack, and it's even fine that she can hack with a phone in a short amount of time (Believe me, it's really hard to program with a phone. I program, that's where the earlier code came from), but please keep in mind that if she's that talented, she can't have many other traits.

Same goes for everyone else.

@Twilight Sparkle:

Don't worry, tech is her only skill. And she can talk to doves, but they're kind of dumb...so there's not much use in that.

Thank you for the reminder.

And in the future, you can post under your regular name. We won't judge you.

Okay! Can I change her name to Arushi? It sounds more Indian and means "red" in Hindi.

~Sakura~
I'm about to go get my bike after school when I stop. I need to talk to Julia. As in, I really, really, need to. Grabbing my phone, I send her a text message. As usual, I do it in full sentences, to show off how much my English has improved.
"Julia, we need to talk. About what we saw today. Can you come over to my house? Tell your parents that I need help debugging my program because I used and if() statement and a boolean to make my ellipse reappear when a variable reaches the value 50." I press the SEND button, satisfied.

Here we go! I'm going to skip the Minotaur part.

By the way, I'm thinking that the arrival of him somehow "triggered" Justice's powers. She hasn't the faintest idea what she's doing and is mostly confused-- heck, she could be manipulating the Mist for months and not know it, I don't care. I just think it would be an excellent clue once they start trying to figure out what's going on.

Justice~

All the others go on their way to Conference Room B, but I lag behind. Something about this just doesn't seem right.

"Why are we listening to a brainwashed woman?" asks Helena, voicing my thoughts. "For all we know, she could be leading us to another Minotaur."
"There can't be two," I snap, my nerves putting me on edge.

"Well, technically the Minotaur's already dead, right? He was killed way, way, back by The-what's-his-name--"

"Theseus."
"Yeah, him. So why does he exist in the first place?"
"I haven't the faintest idea."
It takes me a minute to notice that Helena hasn't continued talking. That's bad news. If the chat-a-tron is rendered speechless, this must be some pretty frightening stuff.

Mrs. Parks is still muttering "report to Conference Room B" under her breath, like she's kind of unsure of what she's saying.

"Um, Mrs. Parks...?" I say, waving my hand in front of her face. "Are you okay?"

"Mrs. Parks?" Helena joins. "It's us, Justice and Helena Neccelby. Can you hear me?"

"Mrs. Parks?" Tentatively, I tap her shoulder.

She shudders, a movement going through her entire body. Then she blinks. "Helena? Justice? What are you doing out?"
"Um, it's dismissal, Mrs. Parks," says Helena shyly. She must be quite nervous if she's feeling shy.

"Come to think of it, what am I doing out? I've still got fifteen tests to grade!" she mutters, turning back towards the school.

"Wait! Mrs. Parks! What about all of that 'Report to Conference Room B'" stuff?" I ask.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Justice," she replies. "Are you feeling all right?"

Helena and I exchange glances.

"Well...," I say, hesitantly, "That was weird."
"Very."
"You know what, we should go to Conference Room B. Weird or no weird, I get the strangest feeling something will be explained."
"No," she says firmly. "I'm never going to that place again. We're going home, Justice."
I can't say I wanted to contradict her, because that would be a lie. The whole episode had seriously freaked me out, and I'm not feeling any better now. All I want at the moment is a glass of water.

"Okay. Let's go home."

I'm at Rosebud's house so she's tailing on my post!

Peter~

I'm so behind on my homework it's not even funny. Ms. Parks said that if I didn't turn in last week's assignment today I could say hello to summer school. But everything was going to be okay, I'd pulled a good old all nighter and finished it all. I saw Kyanite standing outside of Conference Room B. I like Kyanite, but I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm obnoxious. But who cares.

"Hey Ky!" I waved excitedly at him.

He ignored me and continued talking to Ianthe. I made my way into Conference Room B, where it looked like the entire school was camping out, minus about fifty people that is. Ms. Parks stood at the front of the room, talking to Justice. I couldn't help but notice that Ianthe was wearing a quiver that suspiciously looked as if it had been used in battle recently. It was a little hard to make it out through a strange mist that was shielding it.

"How on Earth did you smuggle that into class Ianthe?" I smirked, "I need to learn your ways! Weapons in school!"

Kyanite suddenly turned to look at me, for the actual first time in forever. He looked as if he had a nasty headache or something.

"Can you see that?" He said, dead serious.

"Um yeah?" I chuckled, "If you can't I think you have issues."

Ianthe self-consciously clutched it, "Not see it? Does this have something to do with the mist you mentioned earlier?"

Kyanite looked a bit like someone had punched him in the gut, "Yeah, never mind."

"Nevermind, nevermind?" Ianthe mumbled,"We were just attatcked by a monster!"

She definitely didn't mean for me to hear that, but I totally did. Justice came out, and Ianthe immediately began to question her.

"Okay what happened?" I really wanted to turn in my homework assignment but this was just weird.

"Look, how many of you can see the bow and arrow?" Kyanite ignored me, not smart.

Everyone raised their hands nervously.

"Then I think you're all in on this, whatever's going on," He exhaled sharply.

The other students dispersed quickly, talking amongst themselves.

"Ms Parks!" I yelled, raising my backpack like a beacon, "I got the homework!"

"Great job sweetie," She smiled warmly, taking my papers.

Everything seemed a normal, but something felt off. Kyanite still looked distressed, Ianthe still nervous, Julia still really pretty. I missed something, something pretty big.

Jacinth~

Oh great. Now Peter's going to interrogate me as soon as he comes to be tutored in English by my Dad. He sort-of likes Dad's Shakespeare rants because his plays have so much violence and murder

(Cloudy Dweller: did someone say murder? Me: shush! You're ruining my moment!).

I bike home in a daze, barely taking in the scenery around me and almost being killed by my carelessness twice. When I get home, I check my watch. Two hours until Peter gets here for his weekly lesson. I dash into the living room and pull a chair over to the grand bookshelf in the corner, stretching to reach my phone at the top. Grabbing my phone, I loose my balance and tumble onto the carpet. Make that three times that I almost got myself killed. From the floor, I dial Julia's number.

"Hey Blue-Jay, I'm over at Sakura's house. Can this wait?"

"No. Get Sakura on to. I have a feeling that you're already talking about what I called about." For some reason, I can't bring myself to say: you're already talking about the attack. It seems so surreal.

Cloudy: When I wrote my RP post, I kind of meant it to take place in the yard where they were attacked by the Minotaur, not Conference Room B....

I'm sorry, that was phrased rudely.
