The Three Kingdoms

The Three Kingdoms RP

Hi everyone!

This is my first RP I've made, so tell me if I do something wrong.

So anyways,

There are three kingdoms; the Dragon Kingdom, the Pegasus kingdom, and the Griffin Kingdom. (If anyone has any better ideas for names for the kingdoms, please let me know.).   Each kingdom has its own specially trained force of Riders.  The Dragon Riders, the Pegasus Riders, and the Griffin Riders.  These Riders are taken at the age of eight, bonded to their creature, and trained for 8-10 years.

There is a city in the center of the three kingdoms, in which negotiations and feasts and such are held between the kingdoms.  In this city, each year, the eignt year olds are brought from all three kingdoms on a certain day and set a number of hard tests to see if they're capable of becoming Riders.  Those chosen go back to their kingdoms, and are brought to the Hatcheries to see if they can bond to a (griffin, pegasus, or dragon.).  If they do, then they are trained as Riders.

Twice a year on the summer solstice and the winter solstice, Riders and people from all the kingdoms meet for three days of feasting and fun.  The three kingdoms have always been friendly, but now a special treasure is stolen from the Griffin King's treasury,  there are raids on the Dragon Kingdom's border near the Griffin Kingdoms border, and the Pegasus Kingdom's Messenger* turns up dead in the Dragon Kingdom.  Suspicions are growing and it won't long before the three kingdoms are at war with each other.

Okay, I hope the plot was understandable.  You can be a Rider in one of the kingdoms.  There are four species of dragons: Ice, Fire, Speed, and Rammers. (Rammers are very strong and can knock huge things over). There are also four species of griffins: Water(they have webbed feet and can stay underwater for a long time), Mountain (they are grey and rough looking, can almost blend in with the rocks, they're strong and can carry big boulders to drop on their enemies), Fire(part phoenix, can set their wings on fire), and Poison(their claws are covered in poison and they're quiet and fast).  Lastly, the different species of pegusai: Fire( they're immune to it, and they're flame-colored), Light( gold-colered, the undersides of their wings are so shiny they can reflect light into the eyes of their enemies), Stealth(very quiet, dark covered, pretty agile), Wind(super fast, can hover like hummingbirds, misty gray colored).

And that's it!

Here the spots available:

Ambassador(one per kingdom) (They do all the negotiating)

*Messenger(one per kingdom) (They carry important messages between the kingdoms  for the ambassadors and other stuff)

Riders(3-4 per kingdom)

All right, here's the Charrie sheet

Yes, Leeli, you're welcome to join, but could you please be from either the Pegasus Kingdom or the Griffin Kingdom?  Because there's a lot of people in the Dragon Kingdom already.

Cleo~

Whipping through the air, Inferno and I get our daily morning excercise. We roll, dive and climb at amazing speeds. I couldn't imagine any other dragon as exciting as mine.

After Inferno is satisfied, he glides on the crosswinds, giving me a chance to catch sight of the festival proceedings below. "I guess we better go down." I reluctantly tell Inferno.

He sighs in his dragon way and takes as long as he can to reach the ground. "Oh, really." I affectionately slap him.

Hopping off, I search out Celestia. She would give me advice on what I should do during the festival. But in the mingling crowds, I cannot find her. Maybe I can find Renee. I thought to myself. She can give me advice, too.

Okay, so I was looking over my charrie sheet, to make sure I had my story straight, and I realized I forgot to write my name. Oops! I normally do it last, because I put the most thought/ research into the name, so  must have just gotten so excited about the RP that I forgot. Anyways, my name shall beeeeeeeeeeee.........

Fermata~

I rocket through the air, astride my Pegasus, Crescendo, barely holding back a shout of joy. I may never get over the rush of simply flying. I just finished another Messenger training session, but I don't ever really feel like getting off. Crescendo seems happy enough to keep flying, though. I feel a pang in my chest, suddenly, as I think of my house and the stableyard behind it. My father's house. My father is dead. Murdered, for unkown reasons. Fury rises up in my chest at whomever did it, fo I loved my father. According to my sister, Sashenka, her kingdom has had some troubles as well. Following my teenage logic, I obciously blame the Dragon Kingdom. Except... My best friend is now a rider in the dragon kingdom, and they've also had... issues. So I don't know who to blame. I blame everyone, and yet no one. I am angry at the world for taking my parents, and yet I know that everything happens for a reason. If only I knew what that reason were...

All of my thoughts are wiped clean from my head as Crescendo streaks straight up into the air, thousands of feet above my city. We pull up there, and I allow myself to catch my breath for a heartbeat. Then, I pull my beautiful companion into a tight spiraling dive, her wings tucked tight around me for maximum speed and safety. Just as we are about to hit the group, my silver and pale blue, onyx hoofed steed flares her magnifiscent wings, catching the air and pulling us back up. The two of us have such a close connection that Crescendo and I just move together, almost like water around the banks of a stream.

We continue flying, practicing maneuvers until sunset. By then, we're both hungry and tired and elated. The sky looks like it's going to rain overnight. Or snow. Either way, I probably won't be able to be taking Crescendo for a ride tomorrow. We land in the field behind the stableyard, which currently only houses my Pegasus, but it used to house the creatures of all my father's friends and any visiting messengers or ambassadors. I sigh as I lead Crescendo inside the barn. I don't tie her up because there aren't any other creatures here for her to bother, and she's much happier with freedom anyways. So am I. After I've made myself dinner and eaten it with my brother, Charr, I head to sleep. 23 days since my father died. 23 days of fitful sleep and nightmares. This will be my 24th.

Whoops! Sorry, I completely forgot about the festival... Ah, well I'll just write another post that takes place a few days later....

Fermata~

I rise with the sun, as I always do. The sunrise is such a wonderful thing, and it's ever more beautiful from the air. Unlike most days, today I rise with energy. I float through all of my daily chores, but I take the time to do them extra well today, in case anyone has decided to watch the "dead messenger's daughter" as I've come to be known, to my anger. In any case, I plan to follow in my father's footsteps, and hopefully avenge my father's death. Since he was murdered, I've trained harder than ever, and I've taken up learning to fight with various weapons, as well as hand-to-hand combat in my free time.

But what I plan to do with the person who killed my father is beside the point, today. Today is the day the festival begins! I'll be able to meet with my sister and my best friend today without anyone listening in to ensure we are not plotting against the kingdoms... Ever since these strange events have happened... a special treasure stolen from the Griffin King's treasury... raids on the Dragon Kingdom's border near the Griffin Kingdoms border.. and my father disappearing, only to turn up dead in the Dragon Kingdom... the peace between the kingdoms has been tentative and frail.

This turns over in my thoughts as I finish feeding the farm animals that we keep for food and other materials. When I finish, I take a deep breath, and when I breathe out, I let out all of the negative things. Today, and the next three days, are days of celebration and happiness. We are to celebrate the union and peace between our three wondeful kingdoms. I am proud to be a Pegasus kingdom citizen, but I do not think myself higher than any of the others. I shake myself, opting for something else to think about. Of course, an idea strikes me right away. Grabbing my sketchbook and pencil, I rush out to the barn, where Crescendo is currently flying in circles near the roof, eager and restless. I smile at yet another reminder of how my match and I seem to be made for each other. After a few seconds, Crescendo lands in front of me and lays down with one wing up, inviting me to lean against her. So I do. I open up my sketchbook to a new page, and begin to draw.

A couple of hours later, after much erasing and redrawing, and lots of input from Crescendo via snorts, whinnies, and subtle movements that I've learned to read, I have created the perfect look for us to have for the festival. I drew a design for Crescendo's new armour set- all Rider's recieve a set of armour for battle, and a festive set, which they may choose to design themselves or not. I haven't gotten mine yet, but if I hand in my sketch now, the tailor in town should be able to have it done by sun high. My outfit includes the signature bag that all Messengers are given, but I added a few touches to make it more my style. In my hair, I wear a crown made of Mariposa lilies, their pure white blossoms with little heartshaped blue splotches on each petal going perfectly with Cresent's fur and feather colouring. As for the actual clothing, it's a beatiful flowing dress coloured after the Pegasus Kingdom's colours _____and_____(we should collectively decide what each kingdom's "national" colours are) that used to belong to my mother. Of course, Crescendo's armour is made to match mine, and I have woven similar flowers into her mane and tail, except the splotch of colour on her flowers matches my natural hair colour.

Later that day, when the sun is just beginning it's decent, I head out to meet with the other Riders in training and make final preparations for the festivities.

I know I made some stuff up that wasn't ever actually agreed on, like the messenger bag thing. Just let me known if there are any issues with any of it! :)

Wait—I thought Keen's Mother was the messenger for the pegasus kingdom (long story why he lives in griffin kingdom now. I sort of explained it...). It's okay, though, perhaps Keen's mom died some other way.

Keen~

I climb easily up the mountain path to my griffin, Callus's, stable. Struggling a bit to open the heavy wooden door, I poke my head inside. And then a wall of fur and feathers and muscles slams into me. Tumbling boy over griffin around the stable, I laugh as the bruising rocks and dry, dusty dirt again cover my being. Well, I can't stay clean for long!

"Okay boy!" I exclaim as Callus finally pins me to the earth, "you got me!" Satisfied, he gets up and nudges me until I follow. Then he puts his proud grey head at my back and pushes me into the stable excitedly.

"All right! I missed you to!" I laugh as I reach for the well-polished saddle hanging against the wall. Callus can barely sit still while I buckle on the saddle and strap on saddle bags full of daily necessities. As soon as I am straddled across his back, he takes off running, out of the stable, and onto the big clumps of rocks leading to the mountain peak. Through a dizzying combination of climbing and flying, we reach the mountain summit, just in time to see the sun finish rising beautifully over the mountainous community on the edge of the Griffin Kingdom. I watch as the clouds turn from a sickening sort of early pink into a friendly orange, and then finally a warm goldenish that isn't so much manifested in color as felt in the very depths of the sky.

"Okay Callus," I say gently, "let's go ridin'!" Below me, Callus's muscles tighten, giving me a few second's warning before he jumps. The sky seems to rush up over me, and the peircing mountains appear to tumble and spin in a void of confusion. Then Callus opens his great, feathery wings and we swoop upward; soaring. I let out a whoop loud enough to wake the inhabitants of the ramshackle farmhouses below.

"LET'S GO TO A FESTIVAL!"

~-~

My legs are stiff and sore from being frozen in position. Callus is now doing most of the guiding, as the rows of small houses and mountanous land that I am familiar with disappears behind us. Now we are flying over towns and cities and castles. Soon I will see festival decorations below, when we reach the end of the Griffin Kingdom.

I sigh, stairing at the lights, and the smell of baked bread, fresh and..oh...Mistress, (changed to a dragon-human hybrid), glares at me. "Go mingle with the riders." She barks. "Right." I mutter, but first I find a bread vendor....

And her cart, with it's display of bread, calls out to me.

I find myself swiping a loaf...and then darting away. The owner didn't notice--but one of the riders, a girl, did notice. And she weaves her way through the crowd towards me. (any female rider can be this person!)
