The Three Kingdoms

The Three Kingdoms RP

Hi everyone!

This is my first RP I've made, so tell me if I do something wrong.

So anyways,

There are three kingdoms; the Dragon Kingdom, the Pegasus kingdom, and the Griffin Kingdom. (If anyone has any better ideas for names for the kingdoms, please let me know.).   Each kingdom has its own specially trained force of Riders.  The Dragon Riders, the Pegasus Riders, and the Griffin Riders.  These Riders are taken at the age of eight, bonded to their creature, and trained for 8-10 years.

There is a city in the center of the three kingdoms, in which negotiations and feasts and such are held between the kingdoms.  In this city, each year, the eignt year olds are brought from all three kingdoms on a certain day and set a number of hard tests to see if they're capable of becoming Riders.  Those chosen go back to their kingdoms, and are brought to the Hatcheries to see if they can bond to a (griffin, pegasus, or dragon.).  If they do, then they are trained as Riders.

Twice a year on the summer solstice and the winter solstice, Riders and people from all the kingdoms meet for three days of feasting and fun.  The three kingdoms have always been friendly, but now a special treasure is stolen from the Griffin King's treasury,  there are raids on the Dragon Kingdom's border near the Griffin Kingdoms border, and the Pegasus Kingdom's Messenger* turns up dead in the Dragon Kingdom.  Suspicions are growing and it won't long before the three kingdoms are at war with each other.

Okay, I hope the plot was understandable.  You can be a Rider in one of the kingdoms.  There are four species of dragons: Ice, Fire, Speed, and Rammers. (Rammers are very strong and can knock huge things over). There are also four species of griffins: Water(they have webbed feet and can stay underwater for a long time), Mountain (they are grey and rough looking, can almost blend in with the rocks, they're strong and can carry big boulders to drop on their enemies), Fire(part phoenix, can set their wings on fire), and Poison(their claws are covered in poison and they're quiet and fast).  Lastly, the different species of pegusai: Fire( they're immune to it, and they're flame-colored), Light( gold-colered, the undersides of their wings are so shiny they can reflect light into the eyes of their enemies), Stealth(very quiet, dark covered, pretty agile), Wind(super fast, can hover like hummingbirds, misty gray colored).

And that's it!

Here the spots available:

Ambassador(one per kingdom) (They do all the negotiating)

*Messenger(one per kingdom) (They carry important messages between the kingdoms  for the ambassadors and other stuff)

Riders(3-4 per kingdom)

All right, here's the Charrie sheet

Ya, I'm with Ya on that one Kestrel. Icy, I'm so sorry you feel that way! Everyone isn't really in this together yet, and I'm sure your not the only one who feels that way. I'm not sure what to write when I write, so how bout now we just go to the festival and meet up. The sooner, the better. Claaws is outvoted, true, but I think we should come up with colors we all like. What do you all think of my ideas for colors? (The newest)

I drew a sketch of Ryn and Nightstorm! Anyone that wants to is welcome to request a picture of their charrie and their creature.

Keen~

As I start seeing signs and banners and other festival decorations, I lead Callus closer and closer to the ground, until we are level with the rooftops of the buildings. I'm paying such close attention to the festivities while looking for a place to land that I am surprised when Callus suddenly swerves to the side. Then I hear it. A sharp whizz as something sharp and glinting flies through the air inches away from Callus's powerful wings. Surprised, I jump in the saddle, and then do the unthinkable: I drop the reigns. Off balance, Callus swerves nearly upside down. There is nothing for me to hold on to except air. I try to hold on by sheer willpower, but everything happens so fast that I don't have time to think. The instant before I slip off the saddle and into the topsy turvy sky, I remember the rules on how not to break your neck when falling from your animal. Somehow I hit the ground smoothly and roll to my feet uninjured. Callus lands clumsily behind me. A boy and a girl who were talking (Ren and Renee) look up suddenly, trying to piece together what exactly just happened.

"All right," I say, not able to resist a joke, "who just tried to kill me?" The boy can't resist a sort of half-laugh. The young woman looks up above our heads. When she starts to speak, I recoil because our language seems wrong in her mouth. Then I realize that she has a french accent, and her strange pronunciation and all make more sense.

"I do not think whoever it was tried to kill you." I follow her gaze, and see two windows directly across from one another. The first looks like it was closed in a hurry because a bit of the dark curtain hiding the interior is caught flapping where it had slid shut. The second window was wide open, and appeared to have a waving curtain too. Then it moved and I realized that it was a strand of long hair; quickly whipped out of sight along with whatever shadow had been hovering behind the glass. I had been right in between the two windows. Suspicious, suspicious.

"If so, I don't think the knife found its mark," I comment.

"What makes you think that?" The french lady asks. I realize that she had not seen the shadow in the open upper window.

Saved by the bell, Ryn :) or by a crashing griffin. Same thing.

Renee-

Ah, a suspicious young boy who can't draw and another boy almost killed by a knife.

Spledid way to start a festival.

I shake the newcomer/knife survivor's hand. "I am Renee," I smile, "and you?"

"K-Keen," he says, I smile a dazzling smile back at Ryn.

"And this is Ryn," I say, vowing to question the both of them later.

But how to tempt two young boys?...

Ah, yes.

"Would either of you like some food?"

Ryn~

Food! My stomach grumbles at the thought. "Yeah!" I say a little too quickly. "Er, I mean, yes please!" Keen nods. Then I remember I don't have any money. I decide to find out whether or not that question was Renee offering to buy, or not, later. "This way." She says in her thick French accent. I think Keen has an accent of some kind as well. Then I remember the people who always tell me I have a southern accent. It must just seem that way since he talks differently than me. I hear a soft whinny from behind me, and then I remember that I left my Pegasus at the stable outside of the armory. "Oh, let me pick up my pegasus real quick," I say as I rush off toward Nightstorm. "I almost forgot you, didn't I boy?" I croon to him. "let's go, Stormy!" I hop onto his bare back and trot back over to Keen and Renee. Then I realize Keen left his gryphon behind. "Keen, did you mean to leave your Gryphon back there?"

"Oh, no problem. He'll follow me."

Renee has a strange smile on her face, as if she just bribed someone in to something without even trying. But when she sees me staring at her, the look disappears and I look away. I probably just imagined it. The festival decorations hang everywhere, banners with the three kingdom's colors and symbols, or the three-kingdom emblem. (I thought this could be three colors, one from each kingdom, and an animal that's the body of a pegasus, the head of a gryphon, and the wings of a dragon) there are bunches of flowers in hanging pots all along the narrow street, and cheery ribbons going up lampposts. Happy children laugh and eat candy as we pass. We finally stop at a small shack. "Here we are." Renee announces. Keen I just stare.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in while; I've been really busy lately and I haven't had time to type up an entire post.  So, I think we've pretty much decided that the Griffin Kingdom's colors are gold and fiery orange, and Claws, are you all right with the Dragon Kingdom's colors being bronze and blue?  That leaves the Pegasus Kingdom, for which I think the metallic colour chosen was silver.  But we've had three colors suggested for it: rose pink, ultramarine, and purple.  Which one should we do?
Aleia~
I lead Breeze to the pastures set for the Pegusai.  "Here you go, boy," I say, tossing him an apple.  "I'll check on you in a couple hours."
I walk back into the bustling streets, ready for an afternoon of fun.  I stroll down the streets, enjoying the music, the shops, and stands.  I stop at a couple of stands and pick up a few knickknacks.  Across the street I see a girl look around a couple times , then snatch some bread from a stand and hurry away.
I start weaving my way through the crowd.  When I reach the stand I drop a coin on it before following the girl.  She sees me and starts moving faster.  I know I'll never be able to catch her just by following in this crowd, so I split off into a narrow alley.  I follow it a ways and come out in front of her.   She's dressed as a Rider, so why would she steal something like bread?  "Why'd you do that?". I say.  She says nothing and looks frightened.
Just then someone yelled, and I saw a Griffin Rider lose his seat and fall.  I gasp and start towards him, then remember the girl, but she's already gone.  I turn and run towards the armory where the Rider fell.  When I reach it the Rider's already standing, talking to a lady I recognize as the Dragon Ambassador and a boy.  The boy half turns and I recognize Ryn, a Pegasus trainee like myself.
" So, what happened?". I ask going up to them.

Keen~

I have one Klepel, and that is not nearly enough to pay for the meal that Renee will undoubtably offer me. But I want to get to know Ren, and also, well...Renee is pretty. And nice. What can possibly go wrong? So Ryn and I trot off, our animals following us. I notice that he has a Pegasus. He must be from the Pegasus kingdom! Opening my mouth to ask how things are going there (for Keri's sake), I am suddenly cut off.

"So what happened?" Someone asks behind me. Startled, I turn around. Behind me, a girl follows along. She has long hair, I notice, long enough to hang out a window. Could she have been the girl in the building? The one who the knife was possibly meant for?

"Someone threw a knife meant either for me or...another person. Looking out a window, perhaps?" Renee looks at me curiously. I get the feeling that she can sense that I'm looking for a reaction or answer that might be a clue. What I want to know is...who was in the window? Was the knife meant for her? Who threw it? And, most of all, why?

Agggggg!!!! So sorry I haven't been posting guys! I wrote this super long post for the Spirit animal RP that took me all of my computer time..

Yes I just didn't like the green for dragons. I like the Bronze and Blue. And I like the collar for the gryphon, and the Pegusus should be something not so stereotypical (pink purple shades) maybe silver and black? Or silver and twilight purple? Like midnight colour or dawn or twilight or a dusky purple.

Alright I will try and bring some more people together....

~Clateea

We land with a thunk on the ground. My eyes flew open, and I realized that I had been in a half sleep daze. When I opened my eyes I thought to see a resting stop in the mountains further down the kingdom, but instead I was greated by the bright colours and loud noises of the festival. Bella was painting under me and cradling her scarred wing. "Oh Bella...." I whispered. "That's alot of flying to do all at once. Let's get you some ice. Do you want me to wrap it?"

She snorted and flexed her wing, then whinned, then licked her lips and looked up at me. "So you do want it?"

She looked her tounge out and gave me a dragon smile. "That's a yes then."

I looked around the crowd, before spotting a girl in dragonrider dressing. She didn't look familiar, and her skin was an odd tone, like mine, so I assumed she was a rider from the poor section. I never got to meat any of them because of my parents. And my special trainer. She was scarring down a lofe of bread, glancing around wearily. "Hey!" I shouted, waving. My dragon trainer jumpsuit stretched against my arm. The girl looked up, alarmed. She quickly disappeared into the crowd. "Wait!!!!!!" I yelled, sliding off of Bella, who made a wailing noise in response and hurried off of me as I slid through the crowd.

I reached out and grabbed the corners of her jumpsuit, and she turned, eyes wide in fear. "Hey do you know where any restaurants where I can find some ice and a wrap are?"

She relaxed a little, bread crumbs sliding off her chin. "I think there is one over there-"

Suddenly Bella rammed into me, and with a loud yelp, sent me and the dragonrider toppling over.

"Bella!" She scampered off of me, her tail flicking towards her wing, and her dragon smile sheepishly realizing her mistake. "Yes I'm asking her WHERE TO FIND YOU A WRAP! Anyway, so sorry, what we're you saying?"

I reached down a hand to help her up. She was cradling a shoulder, and reluctantly took my hand. "Dragons sometimes, am I right?" She glanced down at the ground.

"Ya. Defiantly." She forced a smile.

"Where were you pointing to?"

She raised a arm to point to the left. "Over-" she cringed, bring back her shoulder and holding it softly. "There."

I smiled. "Thanks so much. Hey, do you want to come with? Get something for that shoulder of yours?"

She hesitated. And then, "why not?"

I smiled a bigger smile, and, following Bella, lead us into the restaurant. Or whatever it was.

We instantly head to the kitchen, not looking around. I knocked on the wall by the slide door. A person peeked out. "Hi can we have some ice?" I said once I had his attention.

"For whom?" The weighter asked. "For my dragon, and this tounge lady." She smiled, looking like she could slip into the floor and vanish.

The weighter smiled. "Do you want a wrap?" Wraps in restaurants are more like really strong napkins, but every restaurant is required to carry them for dragons like mine....

"Yes. One dragon sized and one people sized."

"Come on in."

The weighter had wrapped both the girl and my dragon in just a little over 5minutes. "Thank you." She said, flexing her shoulder

I smiled. "Here you are," I flipped him the coast, and a tip, for his nice attitude.

The girl stared at me in shock. "Don't worry, I have it covered." I said, almost amusedly. "And if you want some food...." I showed the bag of coins fron the food sack strapped to the hide of ny dragon. She gaped as I stored it away. And clipped the bag closed. My dragon waved her hind and made a Rowar sound as she bounded through the kitchen doors and into the restaurant.

"You don't, it's so nice.....Of you, I, no one.....thank you." She stammered.

Suddenly there was a roar of challenge from the winning aria. It sounded like..."Oh no..." I ran through the slide through doors, the girl folowing closely, just in time to see Bella crash down on the ground. The wood splintered and cracked, and a Pegusus neighed.

There were a few riders we must've missed on our way in. There was also a Pegasus, rearing up, its rider trying to calm it, and....."Oh no.."

The gryphon flared his wings and roared back, stepping into a battle stance. "No! Stop!" A boy from the other side yelled pleadingly.

"BELLA!!!!" I screamed. "BELLA DON'T DO IT!"

She had tuned me out. She and the gryphon were already locked in prebattle stances, hissing and growling, the vibrations echoing through the earth.

I glanced back at the girl, wondering if her dragon could help, ans then realized that she and another rider across the room were locked in a pre battle of their own.

Im good with a twilight purple and silver for pegasus. And the other colors too.

Ryn~

Nightstorm rears up and whinnies, obviously spooked. "Whoa boy! Whoa! Hey there, it's alright! Calm down boy! Stormy! They aren't gonna hurt you!" I say, trying to keep my tone calm, though I'm bouncing around on a mad Pegasus' back. But I've spoken to soon. The dragon and gryphon, Keen's gryphon, I realize, are locked, ready for battle. No! This could be dangerous! For both creatures and riders! Not to mention I might get involved! Stormy becomes more and more agitated, and though I try to calm him, it isn't working. The dragon lunges for Keen's gryphon, I think his name is Callus, and the dragon rider screams, while Keen tries to snap Callus out of it. Then I know what I have to do. Just as the gryphon swipes at the dragon, I jump off of Stormy, and throw myself into the fray. Stormy becomes more scared and confused, and shoot him a look saying, trust me, I'll be right back. Then I grab the dragon's head, and stare into its eyes. At first it struggles, shaking it's head trying to get free, then it calms down a little. I keep the position until the fire in the dragon's eyes is gone, replaced with calm. Then I begin stroking it's muzzle. I see that its a rammer, and a fine dragon. Immediately, Callus calms down once he sees that he's nothin danger. I slowly let go of the dragon's head, but just as I'm taking my hands off, the rider, who was shocked into speechlessness until now, yells "Get your hands off my dragon! What are trying to do, get us all killed!?" The dragon, who I think is named Bella, curtesy of the rider's screaming, starts to get exited again. "Ssshhhh!" I shush the rider. Any other time, I wouldn't have the courage to do that, but this isn't just any other time. I have to calm this dragon, since no one else knows what to do. I take Bella's head in my hands again, more gently this time, and once she sees my eys, hers become calm as well. Then I let her go. I turn to Keen and Renee, who's been standing back quite some distance. "You two ok?" I ask. They both nod in unison. "How did you do that?" The rider, who had been angry just a few seconds ago, said in a now bewildered voice. I shrug. "Well, Stormy and I have been in a few tight places ourselves. I've learened how to snap my Prgasus out of pre-fights, or fights, and figured it was worth a shot on a dragon and a gryphon." At the sound of his name, Nightstorm trots over to me, nickers, and shakes his head. I swing an arm around his neck, trying to look nonchalant. Then I realize two other creatures are locked in a pre-battle. I dart over and begin calming a mountain gryphon, which I've done before when Stormy was fighting with a wild one. It calms down fast, as most gryphons do, at my touch, and the dragon, though agitated, doesn't puck another fight. The mountain gryphon and rider stroll out of the room, and I don't blame them. "Wow. That was, wow." I startle at the sound of a voice behind me, then realize it was only Keen. "Thanks." Bella's rider says. Her dragon snorts in agreement. "I'm Clateea." She says, with a quick nod. I nod back. (The kingdom's version of a hand-shake.) "I don't knwo about the rest of you, but I'm real hungry." I say, just as my stomach rumbles. I hear a couple snickers from the direction of Renee, and I feel myself blush. "Then let's eat!" Clateea announces. She proudly hold up a bag of coins. "I'm buying!"

"Callus! No! Stop!" I lunge for his saddle, trying to get a grip on the slippery leather. Dragon versus gryphon. I don't want to find out who would win this one, but I think I know. Suddenly, Ryn is at my shoulder. Reaching up to grab the dragon 's face just as she is about to sink her teeth into Callus's neck. Somehow, he manages to calm both animals down. Once the dragon, whose name is Bella, is soothed, Callus acts normal again.

"Wow. That was, wow," I state, already admiring the older boy. When the dragon's rider,  Clateea, offers to buy lunch, I think about the loaf of bread in the saddlebags. It would be embarrasing if I accepted, even though a barely new her, and didn't offer money to pay (even though she'd probably refuse it). We gryphon folks are a proud people, and we don't like admitting when we haven't a single coin in the dish.

"No thanks, I brough lunch," I explain, trying to keep my light tone and cocky smile. Grabbing the loaf of bread and water skin from Callus's saddlebags, I can't help feeling a little dismayed at the small size of the flour-covered ball. After all, this counted as breakfast and lunch, and maybe even supper.

"You aren't going to eat that!" Clawteea exclaims, "come on, pick out what you want." Gratefully, I realize that to not accept an offer like that would be rude, so, throwing the bread to Callus, I follow the others, wondering if I had finally found some friends. As we enter the (insert whatever resteraunts are called int hi skingdom here), I look back...and see the exact person standing in the open window opposite the direction the knife was thrown from. Without bothering to tell Ryn or Renee, who are walking right in front of me, I slip of in pursuit. Callus autimatically follows.

"No Callus. Stay. I'll only be a minute," I whisper behind me, and continue walking through the crowded streets, tailing the long-haired girl. After a few minutes, I glance back over my shoulder, and realize that I can't see the others. I have to find the answer to this mystery. It's now or never! I tell myself, speeding up. But before I can reach her, a hand reaches out from a shadowy allyway and jerks her in. She doesn't even have time to scream.

"Hey!" I yell, turning the corner, "let her go!" As my eyes adjust to the grimy shadows, I see the mysterious girl being dragged forcefully along by another figure, dressed in dark clothes. When the latter hears me, he/she turns around, but does not let go of his/her captive. Suddenly, the girl screams:

"Ru—" before her captor claps a hand over her mouth. Whirling around, I notice two more people, undoubtably in league with the first, blocking my exit. I'm trapped. Frozen, I stand there for a few seconds, until my instincts kick in. Instead of running towards the two newcomers, I dash past the long-haired girl, still struggling to get her captor's hand off her mouth. This alley has to let out somewhere! I think in desperation. Then I see a square of light up ahead. Yes! Escape! But then I feel a hand on my shoulder, stronger than mine, pulling me back.

"A friend of hers?" A deep voice asks. The girl's muffled yells declare: "No! He knows nothing!"

"Kill the spare," Voldemort says as Wormtail reaches for his wand.

"Avada ked—"

I'm kidding! I'm kidding!

So I was thinking the girl could be Fermata, but it could also be any or none of you.

Sure!

Fermata~

Crescendo and I reach the festival, and it seems that the entire kingdom decided that they couldn't wait until the evening, when the true festivities would begin. The smell of food wafting through the streets is tantalizingly good, the lights, the music, everything is just perfect. I land in an open square, where I see several other Pegasus kingdom Riders gathered. After a few minutes of conversation, I head off to look for my sister. While I walk, I allow Crescendo to fly free. I trust her. I know she'll find me later.

As I weave through the streets of the festival, I notice a lot of Riders that seemed about my age. There is a group of kids from all three kingdoms travelling together, but I notice one boy falling behind. He looks up at me, and I quickly shift my gaze somewhere over his shoulder, my heart beating quickly. For some reason, I feel an odd connection to him, although I've never seen him before. I turn and continue walking through the crowd, making my way to a more empty area to sit down and sketch what I've seen. I want to preseve the festival perfectly in my memory. Every once in a while, I glance back and see that the boy is still walking behind me. I'm starting to think that he is following me. Please don't follow me. I silently plead to him. I know it's not safe. I know that whoever killed my father might be out to get me. I try to push it out of my mind every day, but deep down I know I'll never be safe. Someone wants something from the kingdoms, and my family has a piece of that something. I refuse to tell people, but I believe I know why my father was attacked.

Before I can think more about the secret that I have had to keep since just before my father died, I am grabbed from behind and dragged into a shadowed alley befe I have a chance to scream. My mind is instantly calculating. Speed of attacker, strength, my chances against him. But all of that is cut off when several more figures appear. "Where is it? Where is the *talisman?" the man that grabbed me growls into my ear. I hiss in return, struggling hard. Suddenly, the boy that was tailing me appears in the mouth of the alley. No! Please, no. I can't have other people get hurt because of this... I think frantically. "Hey!" the boy shouts, "Let her go!"

Finally, the man uncovers my mouth for just a second. But it's enough for my to scream. Enough for me to warn him. Enough for me to get help. "Ru-!" I shriek, but am cut off as the man slaps his hand back over my mouth. I growl in fury, struggling harder. The boy turns to leave, but to more men appear at the end of the alley. So then he turns back towards me, and runs past my captor and I. I pray to whatever gods may be out there that he finds escape, and go limp in an attempt to save my energy and breath. I gasp when I see him dragged into my sight range again. One of the men that was standing in the shadows must have chased him. "A friend of hers?" the man holding me demands. My blood runs cold with dread and fear. "No! He knows nothing!" I shout, my vice ragged with desperation. "Please! Y-you can take me. But don't hurt him..." I sense Crescendo drawing near, so I stall. With a few subtle hand movements, I signal to Crescendo to find the boys griffin (the creatures can find each other by sensing people's aura's. Is that okay?). I don't think the men notice her come and go, because she's so high in the air. Within a few minutes, my Pegasus and what I assume is the boy's griffin arrive on the scene.

Immediately, Crescendo charges at the man holding me, beautiful onyx and silver wings out in an aggressive pose, eyes blazing in fury, and titanium hooves glinting, despite the shadows. My captor releases my in surprise, and I immediately vault onto my Pegasus' back. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the boy jump on his griffin's back as well. Our eyes meet, and we both shoot up into the air at the same time, leaving the men on the ground. I take off towards a nearby forest, and the boy follows. We land in a clearing, and dismount our rides. "Alright, we haven't got long until they come after us. We need to find somewhere safer to hide so that I can explain what's happening. I'm surprised we were able to get away that easily, but I highly doubt they'll make that mistake again. I'm sorry, but now that you've tried to protect me, they'll think you know what I do and they'll be after you too." I talk fast, trying to convey the urgency in my voice. "Do you have a weapon and what's your name?" I ask, before I forget. I think he realizes how important this is because, quickly, he replies, "My name is Keen and no. I don't have a weapon on me."

I nod. "Alright, Keen. I'm Fermata, this is Crescendo. Do you know how to use a dagger?" I say, a playful note entering my voice. I pull out a couple of my daggers and toss them to him one by one. He catches them easily, so I take that as a yes. I swing back up onto Crescendo, wait for him to climb up onto his griffin. Our eyes meet for the third time, and again I am mezmerized by their pale depths. I mentally shake myself. "Ready to fly?" I say.

He nods, his face serious, "Let's go."

______________________________________________________

@Rose Bud: Basically, my idea was that each kindgom has its own talisman, and that is what the kngdoms are being attacked for. Some outside force is trying to collect the talismans because if they are all in one spot, they can be combined to create something extremely powerul that could be used either for good or for evil. Anyways, each kingdom has its own ways of protecting the talismans, and in the Pegasus kingdom it is the responsibility of the Messenger to protect it. That would explain why the things are happening in the kingdoms and stuff. And I was sort of thinking, 'cause I reread  both of our charrie sheets. Maybe your mom became the new Messenger after my dad died, but then she was killed, too? I don't know, but let me know what you think when you continue this. :)

reason, it just seems like someone is following us." There are two
black spots rising from the ignorantly colorful city and into the sky. If these are typical rider's animals, they are unlike any I'd ever seen. I think to myself.

"Get
down!" Fermata cries, "we're easy targets for anyone who knows how to
fight while flying." We both angle towards the city below.

"They're
gaining on us!" I yell, the wind whistling past my ears as I urge
Callus to go faster and faster. I risk another quick look back. The
black splotches are more distinct now; and it is definitely the same
people who tried to kidnap Fermata, riding on strange black
night-creatures, the likes of which I have NEVER seen before. Somehow
they are catching up with us, until I can see each individual tooth in
those flying monster's wide grins. One of the riders reaches his arm
back, as if to throw something.

"Dive!" I call to Fermata in
warning. Obeying without questioning, she spirals down towards the city,
where I hope she'll be safe. In the brief instant before I urge Callus
after her, the dagger handle suddenly grows warm in my hands. Stories of bravery flash across my mind. What does it mean to be a hero? Does it mean standing and fighting even if your enemies can clearly win? What if I were to charge them. right now. Would that be bravery? Then my fear wins, and I lay myself flat over Callus's neck as we speed towards the ground. But my moment of hesitation was enough for our enemies to make their move. I hear the throwing knife whistling through the air a second too late—and it plunges into my shoulder. I lose my grip on Callus's fur. It should hurt, but it doesn't. Instead, my mind seems scared and sluggish and stunned, like in a dream. And then it hurts. Everything hurts so badly that I open my mouth to scream, but nothing comes out. The world begins to slip away into a spinning storm—and then comes one clear, peircing thought, like the eye in a hurricane. How ironic that perhaps the same knife I escaped from, laughing, will maybe even now send me to my death.

Everyone, sorry that I am so graphic. I think I'm growing up. I just want to experiance what my characters feel, and catch the true pain and irony of human life even though this is just a dramatic typical Rose bud RP post. No, I haven't had my head examined, why do you ask?
