Brrring! Brrrrrring! The

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Brrring! Brrrrrring! The

Brrring! Brrrrrring! The old-fashioned phone fairly jumped off the table with excitement.

"Hold your horses!" A tall, athletic girl with a long blonde ponytail called, gathering the phone and cord up into her hands.

"Yellow?" She asked brightly.

"Tonia? Is that you?" A soft, eerie voice asked.

"Ye-yeah!" Answered the girl, a bit shakily, "Hold on a second." Then her voice grew muffled to the mysterious caller as she turned her mouth away and yelled: "JARREN! GET DOWN HERE!" To some other personage.

"Okay, what was that?" The girl asked sweetly, coming back to the phone.

"There's been a disappearance."

"A..." stuttered Tonia, "disappearance?"

"And there will be more than one if you don't listen, you insolent little girl!" Tonia's mouth snapped shut.

"Now, as I was saying, there has been a disappearance, I won't tell you whom or how or when, but I want you to find the missing agent. I will give you one clue: 'harpshicord.' That is all," continued the voice.

"What!" Squeeked Tonia, "but that's impossible!"

"You will not be doing it alone. I have incorporated the help of some very highly respected detectives. They call themselves...The Chatterboxers. Cybers or See-Bee-ers for short. There are more clues than you think there are. You have 2 months. No more, no less. Goodbye." And the line went dead. Tonia clicked through the caller-ID. The last call it reported had been from her brother, Jarren, who had called her house yesterday evening after school. It was as if the mysterious call had never taken place. But it had.

"J-J-Jarren?" She called shakily, looking around for her big brother.

"Right here," he said, more gently than usual, "I heard everything." Tonia swallowed, then whispered: "You know we can't disobey The Agent." In responce, Jarren nodded seriously.

"I guess we'd better find these folks that call themselves 'The Chatterboxers.' "

"This...this is impossible though! No information. Absolutely none. Jarren..." Tonia moaned.

"Stop whining, Sis, this is a life or death situation," her brother responded, clasping her hand in his. And at that wonderful, bonding moment, what appeared to be a pie slammed against their window. And then, exactly 3/4 of a second later, the doorbell rang. The Chatterboxers had arrived.

Welcome to the serious/silly world of secret angents and pies. Oops, I meant spies. Impossible missions, poisened cupcakes, crazed villians...it's all part of the job, right? Well, all my esteemed and respected secret agents out there, this one's for you! Join Tonia and Jarren in the SaS of a lifetime! Please sign up, give input, and come along for the ride! I will need everyone who is participating's names by Oct. 21st. One Alter Ego is allowed, as long as they are manifested as a seperate person and not an old-fashioned being inside your head! According to style, everything will be fragmented and veiled in mystery like the bit of writing above until the mystery is solved. Please realize that art is an open sandwich and therefore nothing has to make sense!

My apologies...for lots of things. Including the short post.

File 10

Lively music played from a small platform in a nicely-sized field (you see, some fields can be so tiresomely big and sprawling, and others can be so small that they can't properly be called a field in that fied-y poetic sense) adjacent to the parkinglot. Folding chairs dotted the area like colorful moths drawn to the music. There can't be anything suspicious going on here, Tonia thought, or could there?

"Finally! I've been waiting for you for about...5 minutes! What took you so long?" Asked a friendly voice that talked approx. average speed x 10.

"Unsuspectingstoryteller! I thought you left the gang to be an undersecretary!" Kestrel exclaimed.

"Undersecretary? Oh, that was just a cover-up. I'm still secret agent Chatterboxer and an unsuspecting sort of storyteller, as always!" She answered cheerfully.

"September and I got a text from Starbringer summarizing you guys's finds," she continued.

"Guilty as charged!" Starbringer called as she climbed out of the van, waving what looked like a typical iPhone with about a hundred gadgets and buttons attached to it.

"Let's get this party goin'," Rose bud prompted, looking longingly at the kids happily dancing around their parents' folding chairs, "what do we do first?"

"I'm sorry, no dancing tonight. The reason you all came here was to talk to me," came a voice suddenly from behind the group.

This is so exciting! I really love how you stop each post just as you're on cliff edge waiting to hear who the new arrival is. It stops my heart each time.

File 11

Tonia stared at the person in front of her (she really couldn't help it). Could this be The Agent? Somehow she imagined this mysterious personage to be more...sinister and secretive looking. The woman in front of her had brown hair twisted into an immaculate knot at the back of her head and an intimidatingly formal bussiness suit. She looked very uncompfortable in the casual area around her.

"I am The Agent's secretary," the woman explained, "if you'll follow me, we can talk in private." Finally; some answers! Tonia couldn't help thinking. The Agent's secretary (who offered no name by which the young detectives could call her)  began to walk back into the small strip of woods. Looking nervously at each other, the CBers followed. Sam accidentally bumped in to Bolton. In return, Bolton accidentally stepped on Sam's foot. In the lead, The Agent's Secretary held aside a curtain of ivy, "this way, please." Autumn looked doubtfully at Icy, who shrugged a little nervously. Joan disappeared behind the curtain first, followed quickly by Brookeira and Rose bud. Excited, Tonia hurried after to see...absolutely nothing but more trees, leaves, and pine cones.

"Excuse me," said The Agent's Secretary, pushing past the eager CBers. Tonia made a mental not to call her TAS from now on, as "The Agent's Secretary" was a bit of a mouthfull. TAS walked up to a tree and stared right at a rather peculiar-looking knot in the bark.

"X23," she spoke in a clear voice. And the bark of the tree began to slide to the side, as if by magic. A password for a secret passage! Tonia realized.
