Secret Forest RP!

Secret Forest RP!

It's been a little while since I have last had a RP, so I'm making a new one! Let's try to keep this relatively simple, and we can all make up the plot as we go along. In fact, do any of you remember Brookeira's Strange New Type of RP? I was thinking we could do something like that; where we make our characters, start writing immediately, and sort of concoct a plot. The main idea is: our charries go on a *normal* hike and enter the Secret Forest, a forest that seems to have a personality of its own. If they want to escape, our charries have to become an unlikely team...

Character Sheet:

Name:

Age (middle-school age please):

Gender:

Appearance:

Personality:

"Gifts" or powers of any type:

My charrie:

Name: Ellie Violyn

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Apperance Light blonde hair that reaches the middle of her back, clear bright blue eyes. A little bit short.

Personality: Though not talkative, she is certainly not shy! She is a great leader, loves to be in control and on top.

"Gifts" of powers: The ability to communicate with animals.

Following Brookeira's format, we'll each start immediately after posting our charrie. No rules, except try to agree with others' posts.

Ellie~

"Ellie and Mark, you're a team," Coach Grant instructs. To my disappointment, Mark rolls his eyes in responce to the sympathetic looks his friends give him. He slouches over, not looking at me. Coach Grant continues down the line, calling off names. Shifting my weight so as to better support the heavy backpack dragging my shoulders down, I glance at Mark, who looks away boredly. I stare at my pink-toed sneakers. So what if he's in 8th grade? He doesn't have to act so snotty!

"Listen UP!" Coach commands. The general whispering and giggling and grumbling diminishes for a few seconds; just long enough for Coach to order us all in the bus. Then the chatter starts all over again as everyone fights and argues about the seating. Spirits are NOT high today. Coach starts the engine. I watch through the window as Camden Middle School fades from sight. Sighing, I lean against the cold window pane. This is going to be an...interesting field trip.

I didn't realize that the partners thing would be so confuzzling. Okay, here's a list of everyone and their current partners.
Mark and Ellie (status: separated)
Sasha with ? Suggested partner: Pheonix (status: together?)
Abi with ? Suggested partner: Terrance  (status: together?)
Larkin with Celia (status: together)
Tyberious with ? suggested partner: ???

Mmm..... I'd rather just make someone up. But someone else can RP them if they want. What's happening right now?

basically, half of the group experienced this gigantic earthquake and got knocked out, and the other group is still walking. The teachers are with the group that wasn't knocked out by the earthquake.

Kind of... actually, my post happened before and then during the earthquake.

Top! I'm seriously considering going against RP ettiquite and writing ANOTHER post in which Mark comes across Larkin and Celia during the earthquake and they manage to avoid injury because of Mark's danger sense.

Voidling~

Ellie stumbled down the rock path. I follow behind, watching her movements, silent and wordless as her shadow that plays on the rocks.

All at once I grab her by the head, force myself into her mind. She gasps, clutching her forehead, but she is losing control.

"Thank you for your body, Ellie," I say to her-say to myself. I'm in her body, using her voice.

She is trapped inside her own body. Who are you? What-

"I am the crack in reality, Ellie. I am not male, not female, not agender. I am above and beyond your pitiful ideas. Your form is strong, Ellie, but not strong enough. When I find a form better than yours, I'll kill your body and you with it. So shut up. Maybe you'll live longer."

You can't do this!

"But I can."

There is silence in her-my-head. I laugh, twirling my new hair.

"Ellie," I say, "I'll make you a deal. Do you have any friends who are immortal? Tell me, and maybe I won't make you jump off a cliff."

Pheonix-

I left the others a while ago. They were talking about banding together, and Ive never been much for groups, asks to my ability. So while they were squabbling about who would be in charge, I slipped away. I haven't seen many others since then, except for this one girl (I think her name was Ellie?) that was standing on the edge of a cliff, talking to herself. Like, no just a one-side I'm-nervous conversation, but, like, a full out two-sided, different voices conversation. Creeepyyy. I honestly think she's crazy, so after watching her for a bit, I left. I haven't yet taken to the air, afraid of people seeing me, so I walk for now. I soon find I start to reconsider. My legs ache as the terrain gets rougher, and I can practically hear my muscles scream at me. I adjust the backpack I wear so that it puts less pressure on my arms, and I even consider leaving it, but I can't. It contais all I have: my water bottle, an apple, the camera and film, and a pocket knife. I'm not sure I could survive the hike without those.

Finally, I give into my aching legs and take off, running and then jumping into the air. I fly above the tree tops, and look below me. I see a few groups, the one with the teachers, the one I recently left, and another that seems to just be forming. I also see a few people walking alone, oblivious to what is happening elsewhere. I see a boy, a girl with long dark hair, and the crazy girl. She's still talking to herself. Figures.

Okay, how's this:
Celia~
Larkin and I stroll through the woods, admiring the the beauty of the fall leaves.  "Do you mind if we sit down so I can sketch that?". Larkin asks as we come to a particularly pretty spot.  " Go ahead, I'm tired," I answer sitting down on a large rock.
A few minutes later, Mark Fledge walked into the clearing.  "Oh, hi," he said, looking flustered.  "Hi, where's Ellie?". I asked.  " She-" Mark said, then looked around worriedly, "We have to go, now!". He grabbed my arm and then Larkin's, ignoring our shouts of: " What are you doing?!" " My sketchbook!".  "C'mon, we have to get to safety!"   "What are you-" I broke off as the ground shook a little, then more.  Larkin's eyes widened.  We ran faster.  "In here!" Mark yelled, pulling us into a small solid cave.  The ground was shaking even more now, and trees and rocks were falling outside the cave.  "What's going on?". I yell.  Then, a scream.  And another.  " Larkin starts out of the cave.  "No!  You can't go out there!". Mark yells.  Another lurch throws us back, and the earthquake gets worse.  I black out for a second, and then the earthquake slowly lessens.  Finally, it stops and we all just sit there.  " What just happened?"
What do you think, Rose Bud?

Mark~

Walking and looking for Terrance or John, I circle back the way that I came earlier when ditching Ellie. I begin to whistle as I come up upon Celia and Larkin, and then...a flash of pain explodes in my head and a strange intstinct to get to shelter comes over me. Danger. My feet suddenly grow wings (not litterally peeps; its just a figure of speech) and I run towards the girls. That's the way this freak power works; I get a splitting headache, a sudden surge of energy, and the instinct to get everyone around me to safety. Celia and Larkin protest as I demand that they get to shelter. No time! No time! I think frantically. The ground begins to pulse beneath my feet as my danger sense directs me towards a cave.

"I'm in here!" I call back. Celia quickly scrambles into the rocky nook with Larkin, sketchbook in hand, following closely behind. The ground shakes harder. Rocks tumble from higher cliffs and over the cave's entrance. I'm thrown to the ground in the shaking tumult, and for a few seconds I can't distinguish which way is up and and which way is down. After a few endless minutes, the shaking begins to subside. I lay on the ground, panting.

"You all right?" Larkin asks her shaken partener.

"Fine, you?" Celia directs the question at me. I'm about to answer "yeah," but an awful, blinding headache springs up from nowhere. My lungs feel pressed by an unseen force and I can't breathe. I think I scream or Celia screams or someone else does, but I can't tell. I want to run; to shake off the pain; but I can't move. I feel the tight, pressing tension drop as the danger to whomever is no longer so pressing, but my head still pounds horribly.

"What's wrong? Are you hurt?" Celia asks. Blinking several times before I can focus on her face, I push her hand away. Already the headache is fading.

"No, but someone else is," I answer, "probably several people."

"How can you tell?" Larkin questions incredulously. Stonily silent, I refuse to answer her. I'm a freak. A freak. A freak. Morover; a freak who doesn't even have my powers under control.

And here's Ellie!! Sorry, I tried not to control Voidling too much, but its kind of hard when you're having a conversation with him.

Ellie~

"No. No. I don't know what you're—"

"Ah, but you do," replies the THING inside my head, "I can sense it."

"That's ridiculous! No one can be immortal," I reply.

"And is it ridiculous that you can communicate with animals?" The voice questions earily.

"I'm just good with them, that's not—" I begin. Although I am terrified out of my mind (literally), I still manage to put up a fight. Even when this otherworldly being seems to know all of my deepest secrets.

"I can sense that you have been around an immortal being, although you do not know who," my own voice, and yet not my voice, tells me, "you are no use to me—" my heart leaps. Perhaps it will let me go! "—now, but you have proven my suspicious. There is a scent of immortality about you; from one of your little friends perhaps. You will tell no one this, understand?" A flash of painful scenes, most of them concerning people forced to jump off cliffs by their own controlled minds jumps across my head, "although you won't need to worry about that," the being finishes ominously in my own voice. Suddenly, it feels as if something inside me has snapped. I just have time to scream before the world fades away and everything goes black.

We were talking about Earthquakes in my Earth Science class, and I mentioned that I was in a RP story and that there was currently an earthquake. I said that we were in a cave for shelter, and that some of us had a split second warning (Mark's powers). My teacher asked everyone whether they thought a cave would be a good place, and we reasoned that no, it wasn't a good place during an earthquake. :)
