Secret Forest RP!

Secret Forest RP!

It's been a little while since I have last had a RP, so I'm making a new one! Let's try to keep this relatively simple, and we can all make up the plot as we go along. In fact, do any of you remember Brookeira's Strange New Type of RP? I was thinking we could do something like that; where we make our characters, start writing immediately, and sort of concoct a plot. The main idea is: our charries go on a *normal* hike and enter the Secret Forest, a forest that seems to have a personality of its own. If they want to escape, our charries have to become an unlikely team...

Character Sheet:

Name:

Age (middle-school age please):

Gender:

Appearance:

Personality:

"Gifts" or powers of any type:

My charrie:

Name: Ellie Violyn

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Apperance Light blonde hair that reaches the middle of her back, clear bright blue eyes. A little bit short.

Personality: Though not talkative, she is certainly not shy! She is a great leader, loves to be in control and on top.

"Gifts" of powers: The ability to communicate with animals.

Following Brookeira's format, we'll each start immediately after posting our charrie. No rules, except try to agree with others' posts.

Ellie~

"Ellie and Mark, you're a team," Coach Grant instructs. To my disappointment, Mark rolls his eyes in responce to the sympathetic looks his friends give him. He slouches over, not looking at me. Coach Grant continues down the line, calling off names. Shifting my weight so as to better support the heavy backpack dragging my shoulders down, I glance at Mark, who looks away boredly. I stare at my pink-toed sneakers. So what if he's in 8th grade? He doesn't have to act so snotty!

"Listen UP!" Coach commands. The general whispering and giggling and grumbling diminishes for a few seconds; just long enough for Coach to order us all in the bus. Then the chatter starts all over again as everyone fights and argues about the seating. Spirits are NOT high today. Coach starts the engine. I watch through the window as Camden Middle School fades from sight. Sighing, I lean against the cold window pane. This is going to be an...interesting field trip.

Larkin~

"Do you mind if we stop here?" I ask Celia a little bit later," I want to sketch a tree." She looks at me odd for a split-second, then says cheerily,

"That's fine, I'm tired." She perches on a boulder, and stares into space for a while, while I sketch a cool, gnarly-looking tree. I had half-finished the leafy top when Mark Fledge breaks through the hedge of trees around us, without his partner, Ellie. Figures.

"Have you guys seen Ellie?" he asks slightly anxiously. So he was looking for her. Had he lost her? How do you lose a seventh-grade girl with bright blond hair? I was baffled, but before I or Celia could confront him (Celia looked like she wanted to give him a piece of her mind), the ground trembled ever so slightly. My ink pen fell to the ground, and as I scrambled to pick it up, Mark grabbed me by the arm and dragged me towards a cliff, saying,

"Come on! There's a cave over here!" and then, almost yelling he said,"Run!" The ground shook violently; I thought the ground might split open from the shockwaves rushing through it. I snatched my precious sketchbook, and dashed after him.

Gtg, to be continued!

(Earthquake and Earth Science discussion continued...) Then again, Mark is not one to pay attention in science class, so he wouldn't know that a cave would be dangerous during an earthquake :P

Sasha~

I sigh, following behind my partner, ______(sorry I forgot who it's supposed to be). I wished I had gotten a partner that was actually enthusiastic about the trip. Like, maybe that girl that the Mark guy got to partner up with. Well, there's not much I could do now. I hoisted my hiking pack higher up on my back and speed up my steps.

An hour of occasional akward small talks later, _____ decides to call a break. The spot that we stop at is nice, with a little stream burbling past and beautiful lush green foliage, and the ground was dappled with such wonderful paterns of light. I pull out my camera quickly and snap a few photos while my partner wanders off to do his own thing. Looking around to make sure he's gone completely, I take my backpack off and nimbly jump from stone to stone until I'm standing more or less in the middle of the stream. I look at my bag and shoes strewn over the bank and feel annoyed at myself. It would have made such a nice, artsy picture! This time, I just walk straight through the stream, the cool water slipping over my toes. It feels so refreshing. Until it begins to vibrate. I take one more step onto the bank, and the ground begins to shake. Hard. Panicking, I grab my shoes and backpack and take off at a run through the forest, searching frantically for shelter. I see someone's foot disappear into a cave and, completely forgetting about what we've learned in Earth Science, dive in after them. In the quiet dark of the cave, I sit for a moment, breathing hard, eyes closed, head tilted back. When I open them, the other people in here are staring at me. All the while, the ground is shaking harder and harder. "Umm... Are you guys sure this place is safe?" I say hesitantly.

"It's the best I could find!" Mark snaps, sounding defensive.

"I'm not judging you for it!" I say, my voice rising, "Let's just go in deeper. It'll probably give us a more stable structure to hide beneath."

After a second's deliberation, murmurs of ascent come from the others in the cave. I lead the way as we crawl further and further downwards. Suddenly, I feel a baby's breath of a breeze on my face. I pause, confused. The cave has been on a steady downslope the whole time. How could there be any air? Shaking my head, thinking I imagined it, I continue onwards. Suddenly, I go around a bend, and there is light. Now I'm really getting confused, but I keep walking. A few minutes later, we emerge into a forest...

But it's not the one we just came from. Not even close.

Sorry I haven't posted at all yet. Hopefully, this will make up for it a little bit!! :)

Phoenix-

After the earthquake, I took shelter in a cave. Then the others found the cave. But they have not yet found me. I am scared for them to find me, for I am sure they saw me flying. And when people see me flying, questions arise. And questions aren't good.

So I sit, I wait, curled up in a ball in a dark cave, surrounded by others who don't know I'm here.

I wait.

OK, I'm Tyberius's partner.

Hazel- It's chaos inside the cave. The earthquake scared everyone. Somebody screams. I hear Tyberius say, "We need to keep moving." Suddenly, a fire lights up the cave. We are no longer in darkness, and I can see the fear on everyone's face. Searching for the source of our light, I see it rest over Tyberious's head. After a moment of shock, I pause to wonder. Hmm, I wonder who else has secret powers. I pushed the thought out of my mind. No time to worry about it now. There are maybe ten kids in the cave. I hope we don't lose anyone. I look at them all, trying to remember which faces are here. I made my way to the front of the group. Whatever happens, I want to be at the front where I can help, not trapped in the back. There's another reason I want to be up there- time to confront my partner.

Hope that's okay!

Mark~

Stalagmites fall from the ceiling as small tremors follow the initial earthquake. Running after Sasha, I duck to avoid the downpour of rocks. My powers are giving me a splitting headache, and every time I try to control them, it gets worse. Suddenly, we emerge from the cave into a forest. But not the forest that we just came from. Where are we? The fragmented images and pain that the earthquake gave me disappear, replaced by that ominous tingling of impending danger.

"Where are we?" Celia asks as a couple other kids that must have also taken refuge in the cave come up behind us.

"Wherever it is, it's not safe," I grunt in reply. Larkin looks up at me suddenly, her eyes wide.

"That's your power, isn't it? You can sense danger. And I thought I was the only one with hightened senses..." her voice trails off in a whisper.

"You have freak powers too?" I ask, stunned. My father's group is one thing, but kids at my middle school?

"Hey! She's not a freak! None of us are!" Sasha exclaims. And then she begins to change; shrinking, her red hair seeming to get longer and longer, covering her all over until...she was a red fox.

"Wow," Larkin murmers. Sasha transforms back into herself.
