Secret Forest RP!

Secret Forest RP!

It's been a little while since I have last had a RP, so I'm making a new one! Let's try to keep this relatively simple, and we can all make up the plot as we go along. In fact, do any of you remember Brookeira's Strange New Type of RP? I was thinking we could do something like that; where we make our characters, start writing immediately, and sort of concoct a plot. The main idea is: our charries go on a *normal* hike and enter the Secret Forest, a forest that seems to have a personality of its own. If they want to escape, our charries have to become an unlikely team...

Character Sheet:

Name:

Age (middle-school age please):

Gender:

Appearance:

Personality:

"Gifts" or powers of any type:

My charrie:

Name: Ellie Violyn

Age: 12

Gender: Female

Apperance Light blonde hair that reaches the middle of her back, clear bright blue eyes. A little bit short.

Personality: Though not talkative, she is certainly not shy! She is a great leader, loves to be in control and on top.

"Gifts" of powers: The ability to communicate with animals.

Following Brookeira's format, we'll each start immediately after posting our charrie. No rules, except try to agree with others' posts.

Ellie~

"Ellie and Mark, you're a team," Coach Grant instructs. To my disappointment, Mark rolls his eyes in responce to the sympathetic looks his friends give him. He slouches over, not looking at me. Coach Grant continues down the line, calling off names. Shifting my weight so as to better support the heavy backpack dragging my shoulders down, I glance at Mark, who looks away boredly. I stare at my pink-toed sneakers. So what if he's in 8th grade? He doesn't have to act so snotty!

"Listen UP!" Coach commands. The general whispering and giggling and grumbling diminishes for a few seconds; just long enough for Coach to order us all in the bus. Then the chatter starts all over again as everyone fights and argues about the seating. Spirits are NOT high today. Coach starts the engine. I watch through the window as Camden Middle School fades from sight. Sighing, I lean against the cold window pane. This is going to be an...interesting field trip.

Hazel- "We need to find Ellie" I say. I'm pretty mad at Mark. He's always been a doofus, but he can't even keep track of another human being. As we all sprint after Tyberious, I slow down time just a little bit around me so I am moving faster and everything else seems to be in slow motion.Suddenly I think of something. Idash over to Mark. "Is Ellie even in this world?" I ask. He looks at me like I'm an idiot. "You know, this... this place that we're in. Is she here too? Does she have powers?"
He glares at me. "How the heck am I supposed to know?" he pants. I sigh. "Riiight." This situation is getting more tense by the minute.

Pheonix~

We decide to split up into search parties. We each get in a group of three, and then are handed one walkie-talkie per group.

"Who had sets of walkie-talkie just lying in their back packs?" I ask. No one answers.

I end up in a group with Mark and Tyberious. Each search party walks in a different direction, making their own way through the woods.

Tyberious~

"ELLIE ELLIE!"we call with no response other than the wind howling just then my firefly that has been surviving for about 30 mins now has fadedout then I pulled a stick from a tree root and i light it aflame with the little strength i have i put it out then i hear a ear piercing screeh Ellie!  i recegnize the highpiched scream anywhere.

"HANG ON WERE COMING" mark shouts as pheonex starts to follow the scream.

Sorry if this conflicts with your post, Tyberious, which hasn't shown up yet. Just to be on the safe side, I'll stick with Ellie.

Ellie~

I open my eyes and spit the dirt out of my mouth. It takes me a few seconds to realize that even though my eyes are open, I can't see, like some part of my brain was still waiting for the images of the forest to be transmitted and processed. Then it really hits me: I can't see! A thousand posibilities flicker through my head. It could be night, I could be injured or dreaming; I could be dead. But none of them makes any sense. Then panic sets in. Where am I? How did I get here? Where's Mark?

"Mark? Mark!" I yell, my voice hoarse as I struggle to my feet. My whole body aches like I have the flu. Feeling off-balanced and awkward, I stand still; too terified to move. I can't see. I can't see. Tears drop onto my cheeks, and I wipe them away angrily; surprised to feel that my face is covered in dust and dirt. Now sure that no one else is around, I stumble forwards, stopping to pull the color of my shirt up over my useless eyes to wipe away the salty mess of dirt coating my face. The whole forest seems too big. Too big and too lonely.

Hazel- It was a good idea to split up. Now we'll cover more ground. But worry is coursing through my body- worry about Ellie and about the rest of us. Celia, Larkin, and I search the forest desperately. Every so often I radio the other groups with a walkie talkie to confirm that everyone is still good. Suddenly I hear a small sound, barely distinguishable in the wind. Larkin stops. "Did you hear that?" she asks. I listen intently. "Ellie!" comes a cry. I think the voice is Mark's. "We're coming!" Definately Mark. I toss the walkie-talkie to Celia. "Call in the others! We've found her!" I race torward the voice, the others sprinting after me. I run my hardest, slowing down time around me so my speed is even greater. "Ellie!" I call at the top of my lungs. A high-pitched shriek answers me. I push myself harder, and a few seconds later almost trip over Mark, kneeling on the ground next to Ellie, who is hunched over and crying. "Ellie!" I cry dropping down onto my knees on the other side of her. "Are you okay? It's me, Hazel," Ellie turns her face toward me and I see... Oh, no. Ellie's eyes...

Ellie's eyes, as they were, are gone. In their place, glowing orbs of darkness. I feel drawn in to them, horrifyingly transfixed...

Can Hazel be possesed now by Voidling?

no prob

Tyberious~

I run to ellie whom i heard hazel's response on the radio i stared at hazel who was transfixed in ellie's gaze i dragged her away from ellie who was clearly not herself the glowing orbs signifyed that she was posessed in some way. The cave around us rumbled and shook as a huge stalagtite fell inches away from us it suddently became clear that the cave was close to calapsing

Wait. We aren't in the cave anymore. Y'all got transported in to a new world through the cave, and The Viodling transported Ellie there while she was unconscious.

Ellie~

Hearing voices, I shriek in answer, not caring that my voice is cracking and unladylike, not caring that I look a mess in front of Mark.

"Ellie!" Someone yells. And then...

"Ellie?" That's Mark, sounding guilty and warn and so not like himself. Someone grabs my arms and pulls me up.

"Hey. I'm...sorry?" It's the first time I've heard in apologize the whole school year. Feeling his sweatshirt, I put my head against his shoulder and cry. I don't care that we hardly know each other. I don't care that he is in eight grade or whatever. I just want this all to be a dream. Two hands grab my shoulders. They must be Mark's, because a girl says: "dude don't push her away, she's been through a lot, haven't you Ellie?"  I nod, well aware of how stupid and babyish I look. Someone else took my head and lifted it up, and gasped.

"Ellie, your eyes!" Someone says.

"I can't see," I sob.

"Boys!" Yells the same girl who defended me earlier, "back off. Give her some room. C'mere, it's okay, we're going to help you," she says in a softer tone as she draws me away from Mark, "just relax." Closing my eyes, I try to steady my breaths. I need to get contol of myself; I need to...

"Rest," commands the girl, "it's fine, I gotcha."

I was thinking this could be Hazel or Pheonix or maybe even Sasha? I don't know guys, I just wanted someone to be on Ellie's side.

I guess I'll continue my tend of shouting at Mark every time he's being a bad person, because why not?

Sasha~

When we finally find Ellie, Mark walks over to her, looking relieved and a bit guilty. Hmm...

"Ellie?" he says, stopping in front of her. After a second's hesitation, he pulls her up to a standing position.

"Hey. Look, I'm... sorry?" Mark says. It sounds more like a question, as if he's never apologized before.

Ellie just leans forward and cries on his shoulder. Mark looks around, eyes wide, clearly not knowing what to do. Still seeming a bit confused, Mark goes to push Ellie off. This triggers a flash of anger again. I know from experience that no one wants to get pushed away when they've gone through... some things.

"Dude. Don't push her away, she's been through a lot," I snap at Mark, "Haven't you Ellie?" I say more gently to her. She nods in reply.

Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath, trying to sort my thoughts.

"Ellie, your eyes!" Someone exclames.

"I can't see," she sobs in response.

The guys of the group begin to close in around her, whispering loudly about her eyes, which seem to be replaced with strange black voids.

"Boys!" I shout, "back off. Give her some room. C'mere, it's okay, we're going to help you,"I tell Ellie in a softer tone as I draw her away from Mark, "just relax," I'm not sure who I'm talking to at that point- myself or Ellie- as memories of my childhood flash through my head in quick succession.

"Rest," I command the girl, "it's fine, I've got you," I hope...

Later~~

For the rest of the day, we walked through the forest, trying to figure out the layout and getting together some stuff to get us through the night. We meet up with the other groups in the clearing we started in at sunset, and go to a cave that one of them had located. I notice Ellie shivering and look around for something to warm her up. Then, I notice Tyberious using his firepower for light. "Hey, Tyberious?" I call.

"Yeah, what's up?" he replies, walking over.

"Could you maybe get a couple of fires going? It's a bit cold in here," I request.

With a nod, he bounds away to get fire wood. When everyone's spread out their respective camping equipment, Mark helping me with Ellie's stuff, someone begins passing out dinner.

After we've eaten, I pull Ellie aside to a semi private corner.

"If you want to talk about... anything. Where you've been, what happened, whatever... I'm willing to listen. I don't exactly have a sunshine and rainbows, la-di-da past," I laugh wryly.

I watch Ellie warily, preparing to build up my walls. There seems to be some kind of internal struggle happening in her eyes. They almost look like they're flickering. Motioning for me to follow her, Ellie leads me outside. I don't question her. After we walk a little ways away from the cave, she turns to face me. As she opens her mouth, maybe to talk, maybe not. I may never know because just at that moment, something jumps out of the bushes, landing on top of Ellie. Something big. And black. And truly the stuff of nightmares.

For the first time since I was ten years old, I scream.

Hazel- I feel another force, another person, inside my head. I hate it. I mentally fight it, but it is almost to late. I don't have conrol of my body. I am trapped inside my head. Tyberius pulls me away from Ellie, but the thing is already in my head, poisoning me from the inside. I stumble backwards, and try to push everyone else away. I've always been strong willed (at least my mother says so) and I use everything I have to regain control for precious seconds. "Help me!" my voice is not my own. The thing is in control now.

My arms and legs stretch as the thing examines its new captive. You'll do very nicely, Hazel Darkshade, it says. Hearing that in my head just makes me madder. Oh, yeah? I ask it. Now, now, the voice chides playfully. Don't fight me. you know you don't have the strength. Hearing that is like a physical blow. Who are you? I ask it. There is no response. I'm a prisoner in my own conciousness.

Phoenix~

Hazel's going crazy, and the others are trying to contain her. They form a wall around her and use their powers to shield themselves. Hazel eventually breaks free, and goes running into the woods. Ellie gets up and brushes the dirt off her pants. At least she's sane.

"Guys, I need to tell you something," says Ellie, "the strangest thing just happened to me..."

I immediately turn to hazel as soon as she shreeks "HELP ME!" she isnt herself now and ellie is the same. "whatever effected ellie now is in hazel" i conclude suddently aware that it could take controll of anyone within arms reach i pull everyone away from her

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WE HAVE TO HELP HER"i heard someone screech

"DONT GO NEAR HER!"i exclame "WHATEVER IT IS LOOK WHAT IT DID TO ELLIE WE CANT GO NEAR HER!"

I was typing up another post when one of my brothers came upstairs. I refused to let him x the window ('cause I was still typing) and, long story short, my ear is STILL ringing from a well-aimed punch :P

So since I don't have time to re-write up my loooooong RP post back up right now, it'll be a couple of hours or maybe until tomorrow until I post. Basically what happened is that Mark, trained (unwillingly) for magical circumstances by his father's group of gifted peeps, helped Ellie to get back to herself and then his powers went really crazy right before Hazel got possesed (major danger) so he's scrambling to get his powers back under control.

Hazel- its awful. It and I are fighting for control, but it-he-whatever the thing is, is winning. I feel so mad. I need to get out ofhere. I want to help, but I can't do anything if I'm a prisoner in my own mind. So I make a battle plan. It sees like this... thing is another mind invading my body. My mind is still there, just not in control. And my mind is undefended, which is how it reads my thoughts. If I can build a mental wall and somehow take over... It can't be soon eough. Tyberious yells, "don't go near her!" The thought that I'm the enemy now is like a physical blow. I let my hurt and anger fuel me, and I attack the thing again.
