The Zoo (RP!)

Chatterbox: Inkwell

The Zoo (RP!)

The Zoo (RP!)

Alright, so it's been awhile since I joined an RP and I sorta need a little boost in creativity, so here a new RP! You're an animal in a zoo. But there's a twist.

You've been trapped in this zoo for as long as you can remember. Hidden from the people, the only ones allowed to see you are the great powers that rule the world. You don't know who exactly they are, you take no notice of human nonsense, but you can sense the authority around their voices, their poster, the way they look at you as if you were nothing. Only they, with guns and large, deadly objects, walk up to your small cage. Sometimes they knock you unconscious, and when you wake, you notice scars and cuts that weren't there before. So many of The Zoo has been knocked and taken away, never to be heard of again, that it has become normal to wake up one day to another lonely cage. But you want to do something about this. You want to change this. You want to live in the world, you want to be free.

But it's nearly impossible, the humans would never allow you to be seen.

Why?

Because you don't exist.

And as far as they're concerned, you never will.

~

Dun dun dun!!!!!

Rules~

1. You may choose or create a mythical creature for The Zoo. Please no mary sues, I will not accept dragons, griffins, unicorns, or Pegasus without unique characteristics. Also, try to be unique. I would rather not have a million flying dragons and magical unicorns.

2. You may have as many characters as you like. Password is crow. These creatures don't tend to have parents, because after they are bred their parents are usually 'knocked'. You may have siblings.

3. No OP magical characters. Actually, no magic at all. You're a mythical creature, you can have gills, wings, cool-looking claws, and fangs, but no magic.

4.  None of your characters remember their past lives if they were caught from the wild and not bred in captivity.

5. The global powers can be really anyone, from Russia's military force to Japan's military force, though I do prefer if the 'global powers' were top generals. The password is actually raven. This can develop as the plot moves forward.

6. The plot can move anywhere, though the main idea is that the creatures escape, and find a way to overthrow the humans or try to anyway.

7. I'd rather not have any human-based mythical creatures, but if it's relevant to the plot, maybe I'll accept one or two. The password is both of the ones listed before.

Alrighty, here's the charrie sheet! Sorry if I was a little bland and all over the place, just ask if you're confused with my randomness ideas.

Name (If you have one):

Age (about):

Gender (they don't have to have one):

Mythical creature name/assumption by humans (what you most look like):

Appearance (detailed plz!):

Personality (it will advance during the plot):

Hopes and dreams (what they hope to accomplish by escaping):

Fears and weaknesses (self-explanatory):

Strengths (they don't have to know them):

Any known living family members:

Password (ya go look for it):

Other/ships and stuff:

My charrie sheet!!!!!

Name (If you have one): Some call her 'Tigress' others call her 'Amaranth' she goes by either

Age (about): Fairly young, but not too young. About late teenage years.

Gender (they don't have to have one): Female

Mythical creature name/assumption by humans (what you most look like): Suea Peek

Appearance (detailed plz!): A giant tiger towers over the humans. The size of one and a half full grown men. She is the color of ivory, with a golden hinge around the oddly patterned black tiger stripes. One of her eyes is a piercing red, the color of Amaranth, while the other is a sparkling teal-blue. She has large fangs for her size, much like a saber-toothed cat. From her back springs bat-like wings, the bones feathered with iridescent colors not much different then a peacock's. The skin inbetween is a midnight blue, and down her spine the feathers came together to form a long feathered tail. Her claws are also very large, the same midnight blue as her wings. Her roar can kill a man, so her mouth is often bound.

Personality (it will advance during the plot): Timid, kind, has been abused too many times. She can't pay attention, she's very bad at it. Paces a lot. Restless. Have always wanted to fly. She's a fighter. Is the 'stronge personality' type. Makes dumb desitions in the heat of a moment. Lonley. Depressed. Fights her own battles, you could say. Has seen too many 'knocked'.

Hopes and dreams (what they hope to accomplish by escaping): She's always wanted to fly. She also wants everyone else to be safe, even at the cost of her own life. She wants her desendents to walk on the grass, and to fly in the sky. She wants everyone to be free.

Fears and weaknesses (self-explanatory): Afraid she'll be knocked, and can't fight back. Afraid she'll hurt someone, by accident. Afraid of the world, doesn't know if it's cruler than The Zoo. Afraid she'll fail everyone, and the humans will kill them all. Afraid of fear. Afraid of the demonds in her head.

Strengths (they don't have to know them):  She can fly, her roaring is so loud it can kill a human at close range, her teeth and claws are deadly of course.

Any known living family members: If anyone wants to make a brother I'm down!

Password (ya go look for it): Ya you thought I'd write it here. *snorts* Go find it yourself.

Other/ships and stuff: Open to shipping, no preferance, though love isn't the main thing on her mind. Oh, and there's a scar in the shape of a heart on her shoulder that she swore she was born with. Also, she's kept in an enclosure with chains around her paws, tightly dissabling the release of her claws, and a band around her snout. It unlocks at a certain hour every day so she can eat.

Welp that's it! Have fun with this y'all!

I can resits no longer!!!!

Name: Number 90 or Lyla

Age: Five Years

Gender: Female

Mytical Creature Name/assumtion by humans: Grath (I just made that up) Human assumtion Large cat with Wings

Apperance: She has the size and build of a cheetah. She's a bit more short and stubby than a cheetah though. She has silver fur with darker spots along her back and going up her legs. She has lynx like ears and two long fluffy tails and long whiskers. She has long fur and her eyes are green with siltted pupals like a cat. She has large white feathered wings coming from her shoulder blades.

Personality: Umm. You'll see!

Hopes and Dreams: She hopes to see her home again.

Fears and Weaknesses: Although she has long fur and looks to like cold weather, she acually lives in Africa so she's unacustomed to cold weather. So she could easily freeze to death. She has a bit of a temper whitch can blind her to the obvious things. She is of course scared of the zoo keepers.

Strenghts: She can fly and run really fast. Her teeth and claws of course! She is also really smart and cunning.

Any known living family members: None are known.

Passwords: Crow and Raven

Other/Ships and stuff: Sure, she can be shipped. Also, she doesn't have any chains or anything like that. Ever since she got here (about a year old) she's been buttering up the zoo keepers. After a long time of acting like a tame kitty she has finally acheived the trust of no chains. She's bidding her time though, waiting for the opertunity to act.

Ulysses-

Seriously, biting a human? That's a stupid idea, and you'll probably end up like all of the other animals that disappeared.

I glared at the human as he walked out the door. I couldn't help but think about what he said. 'You'll all get what's coming to you sooner or later.'

What did it mean? Were we going to end up like the animals who disappeared? I glanced over at all of the other cages.

As I stewed over the possibilities, I heard Tigeress talking to Mama Bear about breaking out of the Zoo. Maybe it would be possible, but the odds weren't in our favor. Sure, maybe we had wing and were bigger than the humans, but they had the things that they knocked us out with. And we were stuck in cages with chains.

It's probably impossible.

   Escape. The word keeps reveburating over and over in my head. I toss it arond a bit, trying to figure out a way I could do it. I can't see any way. I'm only five, eight in human years. How could I do it when Jakal, or whatever his name was, couldn't? But maybe there was another way, that nobody had tried. Something smart. Something the humans wouldn't expect of us. I start feeling excited, just a little. Hopeful, for the first time in months.

I look over to the two who were talking about escape. The ivory tiger looks scared, when just before she was angry, hopeful. I don't know what the human said- out of all the dialects I know,  Bengali, Konkani, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindistani, they speak a language I don't understand- but I get the idea. We have to act quickly.

The other animals make me nervous. Even the tiny one is a cat, a predator, and 99 could snap me up in one bite. But I can't escape alone. So, I go to one of the cages next to mine, the one with the nervous nine- tailed fox. The other cage is the stag, who I don't know about, don't want to approach, not yet. But this fox could be my only chance of friendship in this strange world. And if I want to escape, I have to start talking to the other creatures.

I tap on the bars lightly, and she opens her eyes and looks at me. "Hello," I say. "I'm Echosea."

Lyla~~~

I'm running, chasing a rabbit. I can feel the wind in my fur and the dust getting kicked up from my feet. The sun blazes down on me and I smile, happy.

Slowly the dream fades and I'm once more stuck in the Zoo. The afternoon sun shines into my cage, I yawn, strech and look around for my food. Soon a zoo keeper comes by, handing out food. I walk up to the edge of the cage, purring. He grins and pets my long fur. I grab the meat from the floor and thoughtfully chew on it. I flick my ears in annoance as the animals start talking. Soon the one called Tigress is talking about escape. I perk my ears up, this is a good chance! Soon lunch is over and I walk over to Tigress's cage.

"So, I hear you want to escape." I hiss from the shadows,

She looks around as does the bear.

"Who are you?" the bear---Lotus asks.

"I'm your neighbor... did you think that this cage was empty?" I hiss.

Slowly I step out of the shadows and shake my fur in the sunlight, enjoying the shocked looks of my neighbors. Tigress looks at me then points to her mouth.

"You're wondering why I don't have a muzzle. Or why my teeth are still as lovely and sharp as the day I came in. Let me tell you, I've been buttering them up. Ha! They think I like them. Well, when we escape I will have my revenge." I say.

"Where are you from dear?" Lotus asks.

"I'm from Africa. My name's Lyla. We can talk later." I hiss.

Slowly I disappear into the shadows and circle around in my den. Closing my eyes I dream of freedom.

~~~
Viola! Lyla. She's scary, mysterious, aloof, and slightly sarcastic! I hope you like!
Jarkhid~
They tried to hack off my antlers again today. They failed, but that didn't lessen the horror. They brought in a huge axe, taking swing after swing. I stayed perfectly still, lest they accidently chop lower. Clangs and bangs reverberate thrrogh my too-small cave. I want to shift my weight, to lessen the pain from my chains, but I can't. Oh, and the pain from the axe. They can't break them, I don't know why, but sharp, crack of pain fill my head and I know I'll have a splitting headache for at the very least the rest of the day.
They eventually give up, leaving me as my muscles finally relax. I sink to the floor, glad for the releif. The other creatures look at me in sympathy. I heard them thinking about escape last night. A ray of hope tries to pry it's way into my mind, but I shove it away.  I want to escape, but I know it's futile. Part of me says it's that there are too many guards, but when I look deeper I know it's because I'm worried that the world I forgot is just as bad as the Zoo.
Okay, sorry that was so short. I need to o do something else now though. Sorry for not posting for a while.
Pax~
Another normal, miserable day in the Zoo, gone. They beat up the African wild dog with a horse’s mane and tail in the cell next to me so bad he didn’t come to for an hour. With a sigh, I shift positions and rest my head on my paws. From somewhere, a bird is singing a mournful tune softly to itself.
Someone else starts tapping a claw along with the song. I raise my head, cocking my ears to the music. Although rather melancholy, it has hope in it. In spite of the hopelessness of our imprisonment, I can’t help but let my spirits be lifted by the melody.
I raise my head in a liquid howl along with the music, singing harmony with the bird.~
Sorry, that’s all I’ve got time for.
@Moonlight can you read the rules again plz? And can your creature be a GMO? @Moonfrost I don’t think you wouldn’t have any restraints, maybe just a simple chain or something? Also can ur charrie be bred in captivity also, maybe like a second try at whatever they were trying to accomplish with Tigress?
@everyone else I’m so sorry I’m very busy recently I’m trying to make time for this forgive me! Who should the special visitor be?
~Tigress
It was a restless night of endless pacing. No one objected, because rumors spred  fast in the Zoo, and everyone knew she was going to be knocked. It was a very eventful eavning. A small hissing lizard who had seemed to have too much herbs or some sort was carried in, and Tigress was pretty sure she heard 108 from the keepers. A fox bit a keeper, the one with the weird jaw who totally deserved it. She didn’t see it happen, but the rumors in the Zoo spread quickly, as said before. It aparently happened the same time her own little ordeal happened. Her neighbor finally talked to her, the black lump in the corner. She was a cat, not much different then Tigress, with lovley feathered wings. She couldn’t help from wondering if they were somehow related. And durning her restless pacing, she had herd the cages sing.
It was beautiful. A bird was humming. Someone was tapping their claws. A wolf howled to the steady rhythm. Her chains served as a strange base to their hollow, hopeful tune.
She was staring blankly down at the sleeping blue lizard when morning came. His cage was placed between her and Mama bear, to Tigress’s dissapointment. She had neglected the fact that there was a free cage there after the strange poisonous ape had been knocked. She was thinking and worrying about that ape and her fate when the only door clanged open.
There was talking murmuring, as two dark-skinned humans hauled in strange contraptions lent for carrying large creatures like her. They were wearing strange clothes and pretty feathers, she had never seen anything like them before.
The first one stopped in front of her cage and looked her up and down with his chubby cheeks. “Ah....” he mumbled in what she thought was broken English. “Look at dose feathers! They would do our emporer nicely. Too bad we can’t take any. Do you think they’ll notice a few feathers missin?”
Tigress wondered absentmindedly if they had anything to do with the suposed special visitor that was coming to tour the zoo.
“Good thing they let us use our own methods to calm her. I don’t know how to work any of that. Do you think they’ll give her a checkup or do we have to?” Tigress couldn’t understand them with their heavy accents other then that they were using their own methods to take care of her.
Maybe she had a chance.
The first one picked up a hollow bamboo stick and placed a sharp object in it. Tigress stiffened but didn’t move. Then with a poof sound, the sharp object was launched from the bamboo stick. Tigress sucked her head in one swift movement, but the object caught and pierced the tip of her tail. She instantly felt a strange calmness wash over her. The floor tilted slightly, and then fixed itself as the rest of the stuff kicked in.
She had no thoughts as the two men somehow unclipped her chains and strapped some sort of leash to her neck. Then she was led away from her cage and through the door.
~
Tigress blinked open her eyes as the hazyness seemed to subside. She couldn’t remember anything after the morning lit the Zoo.
“Tigress!” Someone hissed. “What’s beyond those doors?”
Tigress opened her mouth, and found that it was somehow unchained. She didn’t know how or why. Maybe it was eating time, but there was no food. She blinked her eyes a few times and saw someone with a large feathered clockish thing and sparkly hat standing in the middle of the room with two others who must have been his servants. They had the same dark skin as the sparkly one.
“I-..” she stumbled, feeling somewhat of an instinct kick in suddenly, like something deep inside her was yelling at her to take action, but she didn’t know what.
She let her instinct envelope her, knowing it knew best. She widened her stance, narrowed her eyes at the humans who had just turned her way, and roared for the first time in as long as she could remember.
Eagna~
"The house cats built the pyramids!"
i jump up from my sleep as I hear a roar. Excuse me, but I would like to recover fro. My examination in peac-
Wait, Tigress is unrestrained? I smile.
This is gonna be interesting.
I go over to the doors and start picking the lock. I spray it a litte in hopes the bacteria would mutate into something like Halomonas titanicae and destroy the lock. Or make the next human to open it fall ill.
Funny... The lock feels weird....
Oh well, it's break out time!
