Curse of Renovamen

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Curse of Renovamen

Curse of Renovamen V2
Yep, I'm bringing it because it died long ago because I didn't expain it was a rest floor and became stuck because I didn't know how to incorperate it and school wasn't helping. so I'm reiving this harder than a Meat Effigy from Don't Starve (Had I had my way I would have done that but I can't because RULES!)
An old man steps onto a crate in the town square and begins his preach.
Hear my warning and don't go to the Northern Lands.
For there lies the Tower of Renovamen
Tower of Renovamen is a very interesting one.
There are legends of great treasures and glory to those who make it to the top
Don't listen to such bribes!
For there you're soul will be anchored! Those who enter never leave!
To go through extreme pain and suffering, only to find out that not even death can save you from the misery.
To die, again and again. To feel every second of it. Only to wake up in the first room. Beasts with fangs and claws. Traps that melt off your flesh. The endless limbo of suffering.
No glory or treasure is worth such agony!
The Curse of Renovamen is nothing to mess with.
Only those who make it to the top can be free of the curse. And make off with the treasures that lie within!
Or so legend says....
You listen to the Old Man but you brunsh these off as rambling. A tower that prevents death. Please. You're too old for such fairy tales. But you have notice that those who claim they'll go never come back. And promise of treasure? You decide to not heed the warnings.
Now rules
RULE NUMBER ONE: DEATH IS NOT FINAL. You'll wake up in the first room, unless you have found an artifact that revives you.
1b because I'm not reordering the rules: Every four floors there will be a sub floor. this is where you buy stuff, rest, and chill with the passive inhabants of the Tower.
2, no Opness, it's unlikely that you'll be able to make it to the top unscathed.
3, be realistic, no one can one punch a beast to oblivion.
4, shipping is fine but don't overdo it.
5, jerkness is allowed but if you die, you "friends" will most likely raid your corpse than carry you with hopes of revival.
6, You don't have to be human, I'll allow all walks of life. You could even be a beast with hopes of seeing the outside world for the first time or plan the demise of those pesky intruders.
7,  Skills,  you can make them up but they can't be overpowered. There more powerful the move,  the more energy it'll sap from you. You can gain skills by reading Skill Books but if you already have max skills. You need to disown one to gain another.
8, perks,  these are you natural born abilities. Unlike skills,  once you decide them,  you are stuck with them. You can have up to 3 perks but one of them must be bad.
9. Enemies might be closer than you think
10. Have fun.
11. Please so this won't sink. If you see that this has no comments. just bookmark it. I don't want this to sink to the bottom and never find it again. To top a thread you wait till the first comment is posted then comment so you don't waste comments.
Classes
Swordman: This class is good at offense. But needs to be light for their speed so they lack defense. Starts with rusty sword and heath potion. Can have up to 5 skills at a time.
Mage: a great support class, has offensive and defensive spells but lack physical strength and endurance. Starts with Spell Book (make up what kind of mage you are),  wooden staff and a heath potion. Can have up to 10 skills at a time.
Tank: has good defense. Doesn't hit as hard as swordsman nor has as many skills as mage but is able to haddle more pain. Comes with leather tunic, rusty hand axe, and a heath potion.  Can have up to 3 skills.
Archer: good at range attacks, but frail. Comes with worn bow,  20 arrows. (Arrow can be retrieved but the thing it is in needs to be dead if you want them back!)  A dagger, and a heath potion.
Priest: like mage but focuses on more defensive skills. Comes with Holy Book (like Spell Book) wooden staff,  and heath potion.
Magic Gunman: expert at guns. But defense is weak. Comes with rusty magic gun,  magic bullet,  and  heath potion.  can have up to 5 skills.
If you want to come up with your own class,  just ask!

I believe we are on floor 4 actually...

Stillo~

"Why am I not sssurprisssed?...."

Six gargoyles surround us as we draw our weapons. A classic trap indeed.

"When do you think you will transssform Werewolf?"

"Hopefully not today. You'll all die!"

"Maldiciones, you can't control it?" The gargoyles circle us. Waiting for our guard to drop.

"Not really...."

I sigh to myself.

"I really didn't want to put thisss to wassste but..."

I unscrewed my potion and poured half of it on thr ground. Formimg a circle around us. The Gargoyles hiss, and the two swordsmen plug their noses while Hyra looks in fear.

"What is *cough* that potion made out of?" Damian looks displeased.

"Flor Sagrada y Fruta del Demonio, but mossstly Nigrum Draco Sanguis, otherwissse known asss Black Dragon Blood." Hyra's eyes widen.

"Don't worry. I'm not taking your blood while you sssleep." I assure her. "Now everyone. Follow my lead." One was foolish enough to touch the circle and burned it's hand off. They hiss and snap at us. But they won't dare cross the circle. Just as planned.

"Let'sss sssee if they like THISSS!" I shoot one in the face and it howls in pain. It pounces at me as I throw some of the potion into it's face. It screams and soon drops dead. The others possess what just happen to their brethren.

"Now! ATTACK!"

Sure you can still join. Character approved.

Though at this point we now have four swordsmen (Aspen where are you?)

And only one rogue and one magic gunman.

So I'm sorry to say this but Catsclaw will have the last swordsman. Anyone else who still wants to join must choose another class.

Damian~

"NOW, ATTACK!" Stillo yells as he spears one of the gargoyles in its stony face.

It seems to be covered in thick, armour-like leather, imitating but not as hard as, stone. I quickly jump into the fray. It was clever of Stillo to pour blood ina circle. Then if any of us get tired or wounded in the fight, we can simply retreat back into the circle. A safe spot, to be precise. The gargoyles are ridiculously easy to disbale. Possibly a distraction?

But they're extremely fast. A bit faster than me, but still, I match every dodge of theirs for a quick redirection of my strike, rusted blade flashing like salmon scales ina waterfall. And just like a salmon struggling upwards through the waterfall back to its birthplace, slowly but surely we're driving the gargoyles back. They're not very strong, but it's tiring to keep attacking them, as they are persistent. I step back into the circle for a moment, panting from exhertion. Hyra is disabling them with frightening speed, while Stillo is violence and strength personified. I examine myself for a moment. A few cuts and scrapes, but the gargoyle's claws are dull, and probably used more for digging up food from the ground than combat. I'm fascinated by their species. "ARE YOU GOING TO LET US DO ALL THE WORK OR ARE YOU GOING TO ACTUALLY HELP US, DAMIAN?!" Hyra yells, in a headlock with a horned gargoyle. I quickly slice through his midsection, slightly ruffled.  The path to the doorway to the next level is clear. There are about a dozen gargoyles left, but I don't think we should waste our time on them.

Weak but persistent foes who are quick but not very good at attacking. Yes, this is a ploy to make us tired. But the real question is, is what will we find behind that door? A test of strenght, or of wit..?

"Don't waste your time on them, we should leave! The path is clear!" I yell over the snarls and thuds of combat. Stillo disables his gargoyle foe and quickly hisses; "But could it not be possssible that rushing straight into unknown danger whilssst being pursued by foes be the last thing we want to do?" I shrug, and quickly turn to the door. "The Tower expects us to be on our guard after that attack! We would be expecting soemthing quick and brutal after a surprise attack, so it makes sens for it to wait until we lower our guard! After all, a tired body is a tired mind!" I shout as i rush towards the door. Not quite sound logic, but it'll probably pursuade him. Hyra...... I can't figure her out. She's unreadable. What is her motivation? Just run ahead and she might follow. If she doesn't, too bad for her.

However, I still ready myself for s crushing death as I shove the door open.

However, instead I see...

I giant chessboard.

AH.

~~~~~~
Okay! I hope that's good. I won't be around for a few days, since we're...... um... going to Stratford, SO I'MMA NOTTA GONNA BEEAAA HERA FOR  a few days. Just saying don't be weirded out if I don't post for a few days!
"Interesting.... Very interesting...."
A hooded figure sits at their throne. Gazing into what appears to be a portal.
"Using the acidic nature of black dragon blood is very clever indeed. I will give you that."
In the portal, a few figures can be seen. One almost looking human had one not noticed the ears. Another of a beast. And two humanoid reptilians, one onf black and one of yellow. They are fighting quadpedil creatures that look almost like stone. One of them opens the door ahead to reveal a giant chessboard platform slightly raised from the floor. Almost like an arena.
"It has been a while since a party of at least three arrived here.... Famul!"
The door of the hooded one's chamber opens. What appears to be a spirt of fire hovers to the throne.
"Yes master?" The creature's mouth does not open, his voice sounds as if drank acid and threw it back up.
"Is the Clockwork King still functionible?"
"It may be a bit rusted and not used for at least a century but I assure you it still functions at near peek effentcy."
"In that case," The hooded one smiles to themselves "Let's play a game.... Renovamen awaits them."
"It may be a bit rusted and not used for at least a century but I assure you it still functions at near peak efficiency."
The operative words here are "Near peak".
Oh, and "Not used for at least a century:.
Okay, basically every word in that sentence if hilarious in context.  XD I love it!
