Curse of Renovamen

Curse of Renovamen

Curse of Renovamen V2
Yep, I'm bringing it because it died long ago because I didn't expain it was a rest floor and became stuck because I didn't know how to incorperate it and school wasn't helping. so I'm reiving this harder than a Meat Effigy from Don't Starve (Had I had my way I would have done that but I can't because RULES!)
An old man steps onto a crate in the town square and begins his preach.
Hear my warning and don't go to the Northern Lands.
For there lies the Tower of Renovamen
Tower of Renovamen is a very interesting one.
There are legends of great treasures and glory to those who make it to the top
Don't listen to such bribes!
For there you're soul will be anchored! Those who enter never leave!
To go through extreme pain and suffering, only to find out that not even death can save you from the misery.
To die, again and again. To feel every second of it. Only to wake up in the first room. Beasts with fangs and claws. Traps that melt off your flesh. The endless limbo of suffering.
No glory or treasure is worth such agony!
The Curse of Renovamen is nothing to mess with.
Only those who make it to the top can be free of the curse. And make off with the treasures that lie within!
Or so legend says....
You listen to the Old Man but you brunsh these off as rambling. A tower that prevents death. Please. You're too old for such fairy tales. But you have notice that those who claim they'll go never come back. And promise of treasure? You decide to not heed the warnings.
Now rules
RULE NUMBER ONE: DEATH IS NOT FINAL. You'll wake up in the first room, unless you have found an artifact that revives you.
1b because I'm not reordering the rules: Every four floors there will be a sub floor. this is where you buy stuff, rest, and chill with the passive inhabants of the Tower.
2, no Opness, it's unlikely that you'll be able to make it to the top unscathed.
3, be realistic, no one can one punch a beast to oblivion.
4, shipping is fine but don't overdo it.
5, jerkness is allowed but if you die, you "friends" will most likely raid your corpse than carry you with hopes of revival.
6, You don't have to be human, I'll allow all walks of life. You could even be a beast with hopes of seeing the outside world for the first time or plan the demise of those pesky intruders.
7,  Skills,  you can make them up but they can't be overpowered. There more powerful the move,  the more energy it'll sap from you. You can gain skills by reading Skill Books but if you already have max skills. You need to disown one to gain another.
8, perks,  these are you natural born abilities. Unlike skills,  once you decide them,  you are stuck with them. You can have up to 3 perks but one of them must be bad.
9. Enemies might be closer than you think
10. Have fun.
11. Please so this won't sink. If you see that this has no comments. just bookmark it. I don't want this to sink to the bottom and never find it again. To top a thread you wait till the first comment is posted then comment so you don't waste comments.
Classes
Swordman: This class is good at offense. But needs to be light for their speed so they lack defense. Starts with rusty sword and heath potion. Can have up to 5 skills at a time.
Mage: a great support class, has offensive and defensive spells but lack physical strength and endurance. Starts with Spell Book (make up what kind of mage you are),  wooden staff and a heath potion. Can have up to 10 skills at a time.
Tank: has good defense. Doesn't hit as hard as swordsman nor has as many skills as mage but is able to haddle more pain. Comes with leather tunic, rusty hand axe, and a heath potion.  Can have up to 3 skills.
Archer: good at range attacks, but frail. Comes with worn bow,  20 arrows. (Arrow can be retrieved but the thing it is in needs to be dead if you want them back!)  A dagger, and a heath potion.
Priest: like mage but focuses on more defensive skills. Comes with Holy Book (like Spell Book) wooden staff,  and heath potion.
Magic Gunman: expert at guns. But defense is weak. Comes with rusty magic gun,  magic bullet,  and  heath potion.  can have up to 5 skills.
If you want to come up with your own class,  just ask!

Okay dokay! Glad to see that was just a small misunderstanding.

Damian~

The small army advanced slowly. We could easily skip around them, slow as they are... Their gears were rusty, and at every jerky step, red-coloured dust floated down from their metal bodies like dried blood. The 'king' himself was also rather rusty, with the air of ill-looked after tool, now being called to a duty it was not up to perform. Damian felt, for a moment, a brief flash of pity for him. And then reason snapped back into place. "Why's it a king? Aren't they, like, the most useless and incompetent piece on the board or something?" Hyra said quietly, eyes scanning the rather pathetically aproaching troops.

Damian grinned. "Most people at the top aren't the sharpest gears in the box, yes. But aside from that, actually, all the pieces on the board have equal potential too-"

"It'sss not the TIME for witty quipsss, Damian, focuss on the tasssk at hand!" Stillo hissed impatiently, tail whipping around his ankles in a rythim of unease. "Ah, yes, well let's see....." Hyra rolled her eyes andquickly took charge of the situation.

~~~~~~
OKAY time to go now, YES, Rogue, your thing of the chess thing happening is happening (I 'spose) but I really didn't have enough time to write all of that, so sorry! Also apologies to both of you if I didn't represent your characters well. I'm rather tired right now, so if I offend anybody in any way whatsoever, please accept my sincerest apologies and whatnot. So boi!
~~~Damian

"All up for skipping around those troops and avoiding confrontation, everyone?" Damian said quietly.

Stillo shrugged. "I feel like we're going to have to face thessse thingss ssooner or later... that's the Tower for you.... But I suposse it wouldn't hurt to try...."

~~~~~~
Because..... why not??
Now which door do we choose?
Hyra~
Damian steps forward and Stillo slithers to the side, hissing pleasurably.
"Stillo, I'm glad you like a good fight! You do like a good fight, right?" I wrap my fingers tightly around the hilt of my sword. I can hear something. Something underneath the grating of old gears and the clank of iron on stone. Something low, something dry, something alive. Stillo and Damian don't seem to notice it.
"Yep! It'ssss refreshing, don't you think?" Stillo smiles broadly, but his brow soon furrows and his smile becomes a frown. "Wait. Why do you ask? You said these guys are weak-" A spearhead nearly slits Stillo's throat. The sound I heard becomes a low, chittering rattle, and three more disembodied weapon peices take down the most important chess peices. Out of the darkness of the room beyond, six reptilian eyes, glowing with brutish and animalistic life-light, open slowly. The rattle grows louder and faster, and less of a rattle, more like the trembling rub of metal against metal... Wait. I know that sound.
"Guys, don't. Move. An INCH. On my cue, scream as loud as you possibly can." Stillo starts to protest about the potential alert our screams would be to other beasts, but I hush him. I know we'll be fine if we scream. Sound only can be heard in one dungeon at a time here. We'll be safe, we'll be safe...
Right?
~
I was thinking they would be safe from other enemies coming, except it wouldn't affect the beast.
I'm a tad confused. So, we WERE going to scoot around the pathetically excroaching army, but then Hyra was like "No, guy, ready for a good fight? 'CAUSE THIS GOES WAY DEEPER THAN RUSTY CHESS PIECES." And then..... something shot some kind of barb/arrow at the army..... and also almost hit Stillo. Then Hyra realizes/knows that there's a type of monster in this place that is metal or something, and noise will somehow hurt it.
Am I correct? It just wasn't extremely clear.
Damian~
Stillo's scream rents the air like a sword through velvet, like a wounded animal angry and looking for vengeance. Damian's wail echoes through the hall, a cross between a wolf's lght, haunting howl and a lion's deep-throated roar. Hyra's trumps both in sheer loudness, echoing and re-echoing off of the cvernous space. If the clockwork soldiers rattling across the floor like toys had ears, they would likely be screaming in pain, as both Stillo and Hyra's shrieks rose up quickly and hit an octave uncomfortable for most ears.
Damians' gave a twigne but unlike humans, it didn't hit quite the right nerve.
However, the clockwork solders did not have ears, and so they continued to wheel their unsteady, winding way across the floor like a drunk man's last attempts at capturing a pickpocket who had just taken his last penny.
Maintanence matters, people.
The screams died away, almost as suddenly as they had come.
The room seemed to be much larger, suddenly.
The silence sucked up everything, all three adventurers out of breath. Yet even the sound of their unsteady gasping was sucked into the silence.
The clockwork men did not pause in their unsteady strolling, and the errant  sproing-ing noises as screws came loose from them did not stop, but suddenly they seemed very small compared to the large, empty room they were in.
Like toy soldiers lined up in a ragtag army against the emptiness of a child's room.
~~~~~~~

Just saying, that last sentence was not meant to be taken literallly. It's not suddenly a kid's room right now, it's a a metaphor. Okay, bye! Hope that was satisfactory.

Hyra~

Our screams have thoroughly disoriented the soldiers, which is good. Sometime or another I'll have to split on of their heads open to inspect it. Maybe the sheer pitch of our screams made something resonate and knocked something from its cocked position -

"Hyra...?" Damien reaches towards me and interrupts my thinking. The eyes ahead blink, one at a time. The beast wasn't affected. Shoot. Tick tick tick click! Something machanically rotates into place. Tick tick tick click! Again. Tick tick tick click! Chunk! Tick tick tick click! Chunk! Hmm. I don't remember it making that noise before... The only thing that makes those noises is the - CA-CHUNK! CA-CHUNK! CA-CHUNK! CA-CHUNK! A Silver Checkbeast stalks into the room. This is definitely not what I thought was coming.

"WHAT isssssssssssss THAT???" Note to self: Stillo's 's' thing gets more intense when he's agitated.

"A Silver Checkbeast! I thought it was a Bronze!"

"WHATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THE DIFFERENCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCE???"

"Bronzes are easily disabled by high-pitched noises! Silvers don't have the hearing mechanisms!"

"Are there Goldens after that?" Damien interjects.

"Nope! The strongest Checkbeasts are the Black Checkbeasts!" I think to myself about what kind of deranged system that is.

"What kind of a deranged system is that??" Damien asks after deftly dodging a knight.

"Okay, that was really weird. I was thinking the exact same thing!" The Silver spots us. But, thankfully enough, it also spots the chess peices standing around, disoriented. It hisses happily, snake's head waving back and forth. It pads loudly over to the nearest pawn with its lion paws. Then, its jaw unhinges, revealing possibly thousands of blade-like teeth, and slicing the pawn's head off with unprecidented ease.

But, didn't I say that the clockwork soldiers weren't affected...?

Never mind. 'S all good! =) Just.... maybe read my posts a bit more thoroughly next time?

OKAY Wait that thing can literally slice through metal? Wonder what sort of weapon could be made out of that.....  Didn't Writer just say that we weren't doing chess inspired themes? I mean, whatever you decide to do, Rogue, but it feels like you're skimming our posts sometimes. I understand if you don't have enough time or are in a rush, just please try not to do it often, it feels like we're subordinate if you don't pay attention to the small details of our posts. I'm just saying, I'm not trying to inflame a fight, and I'm sorry if it sounds snappy.

Just saying, it seemed like a lot of random specific things thrown in at once. It's moving a bit too fast for me *Wheeze* W-wait up guys! *Pant* Oh Gandalf I should've been a runner instead of splashing around in poools.... But anyways, Top and a small notice to Rogue Wildling.

You guys aren't being specific. I'm kinda tempted to let this thread die because it isn't very fun when it's just fight scenes over and over again.

Also, it's from different viewpoints. I thought it would be fun- you know what? Never mind. I'm dropping out. You can keep using Hyra if you want, but I don't want any part in this anymore.

Culd you be a bit more uh.... specific? What are we being vague about? Please, it's easier and more mature to tell us what the problem is so that we can work together to fix it! Are we not being specific in our posts?

And yes, I understand what you mean, Wildling, but it's also up to you just as much as it is to us to make things more interesting, rather than always throwing in a new monster. I sort of go along with other people's ideas usually, but I actually had a slight plan for the doorways, which may have (Or may not have) made this more interesting. Please, be patient with us. Was I insulting you in my last post? If so, please telll me, so that I can apologise properly. I myself have actually posted at times when I'm extremely angry and hurt. (Mostly 'cause of a whole Kyngdom and my existence sorta thing.... but let's not delve into that) And I try to be kind to the person feeling hurt, so I usually try to make a point of including other people in RPs and not ignoring them or shooting down their ideas.

I'm sorry if you feel unhappy in this RP, Rogue, but I will not be able to truly empathize with you unless I understand what the problem is. Or, like, fix it if I don't know it's broken.

Basically, could you please tell us the problem and explain it thoroughly so that we understand it, and so then can fix it? I honestly don't want to hurt your feelings. And yes, I know the road to a bad place may be paved with good intentions, but please give us a willing suspension of disbelief when we tell you we didn't mean to hurt you.
