MYTHS AND LEGENDS

This Book of Myths and Legends is intended to inform, illuminate, educate, and elucidate. But the trepidatious Reader must proceed with caution. Once the Reader has filled their mind with thoughts of Beasts, the Reader can no longer un-know them. Sometimes, the only safeguard against the shuddersome creatures that stalk this Globe is to utterly deny their existence.

Bludgeoner dragon

~

These dragons were born from fire and earth, the unholy offspring of lava and distruction. There are few left, thank goodness, as these dragons are as big as a large castle and are only loyal to their Master. To remain stable, these beasts need to be commanded. To literally do anything. Even to stay still, fall asleep, wake up, anything. Their tail ends in a huge bony mass that can weigh up to 3 tons. their hides are thick and bony, thus making the bludgeoner dragon slow, right? Wrong. Oh so wrong. These dragons are very fast despite their massive weight. their maximum speed is, um, fast. No researcher has ever lived to tell the tale. Bludgeoner dragons without Masters have the same mental stability as one who is aggressively insane. They are mute in any kind of language, but they can communicate telopathically with their Master, and can emit a type of incapacitating mental screech. Fortunately, I cannot say that they are smart, but unfortunately they are masters of war and strategy. Never cross a bludgeoner dragon in battle unless you yourself are a bludgeoner droagon or have one at your aid. Females of this species are incredibly rare, only one female per fifty males, but when they mate one female can produce up to thirty fertile eggs per clutch, two clutches per mating. They live excrutiatingly long lives, but lose their lust for battle as they age. By the time they turn one hundred, they no longer jump straight into a fight, but weigh their advantages for picking a side to decide whether or not to battle.

PIIRI/ROGUE HAS CALLED, SO I SHALL ANSWER! *Salutes*

Ah - But - What - Shall I - Write about, hmmm? Ideas that have been leapin' inside me mind for quite a while, and now should I reveal my tender offspring to the cold, harsh world? Full of badly preposterous plots, Cardboard characters, and people allerfgic to alliteration??

Eh I'm gonna wing it

Aderash, scientific name Panthiras Koraki.

The Adera species (Collectively reffered to as Aderash) is one of the few subspecies related to Gryphons. Similar to Gryphons in many ways, both being a cat-bird hybrid and both being a creature associated with bravery, intelligence, and otherworldly powers. The usual Adera has a head similar in shape and appearance to a crow or raven's head, with glossy black feathers and intelligent, dark eyes. It's feathers continue down the back and then slowly thin to a mix of feathers and fur, the feathers puffing out to create a fan at the very end of the tail, this doubles as a way to show off for the males and also as a rudder for steering when flying. It can fan out, similar to a peacock's feathers. Th wings are usually -

-Are usually folded neatly at either side of the Adarash's body. The back of the creature is mostly panther-esque, its haunches being mostly dark black silvery fur, but still with a few small feathers coating the legs.

Wisp

I am a wisp myself. They are very interesting. They are really just wisps of essence (hence the name), but they can change the form of that essence to anything they want. Because of this, they are born with a natural grasp of anatomy. I say born, but really I have no idea how they are created. This is all I know.

Arachnia, or Spider-Spirits--

The Arachnia are demon-like creatures. They appear to be made of a black mist. They are tall, with no legs, but four pairs of arms. They can lure in unsuspecting victims by enticing them in their sweet, innocent voices. They live in cave systems deep underground. Each cave system is ruled by a king or queen. Arachnia are weak to light magic and silver. They are made of darkness. Spider-Spirits feed off of fear and sorrow, and pain. Supposedly, they can pass between the afterlife and the regular world. They can even enter limbo.

Limbo--

Limbo is a cool myth that I thought belonged in Kyngdom. Limbo is the supposed realm that exists between life and death. It's there at the same time its not, and it's full of Vengeful and restless spirits.

Finally putting information on Seri’s tribe and home out there somewhere. I kinda just wanted to put this here, so… Oh gosh. Here goes.

                                      Outlands of Kyngdom

                                Chapter Eight: Oran Audune.

Oran Audune, known mainly as The Audune, is almost the last of Kyngdom’s outlands that will be discussed in this book. It is located to the southeast of Kyngdom, and is home to many traders and merchants that can be found, on occasion, traveling throughout other countries.

                                    The Audune’s Geography

A feature of the Audune that often comes up when it’s being discussed (which is sparingly few times, but the author digresses) is that it is a desert filled with enchanted sands. While the Audune’s sands are far from having a mind of their own or sentience, their effects and behavior are always unpredictable. People have been lost in the Audune, and have died because of its unstable magic, but it can sometimes serve to create a colorful effect in the air. The sky above The Oran Audune Desert is crackling with odd colors and forces, like constant soundless lightning.

The Oran Audune is almost completely desert. The landscape (when caught on drone from above) was revealed to be dotted with many a small oasis. The people of the Audune usually build settlements around or near those oases. Other than those features, the Audune is just bland desert sands and dunes.

                                       People of the Audune

The Audune is populated with both humans and upright creatures that are similar to cheetahs. (NOTE: Consider them just cheetah anthros pretty much.) There are also humans that claim descendancy to those cheetah creatures, as well as actual animals that roam the desert.

The Audune’s humans are grouped into tribes, each with their own characteristics and symbols. These tribes are usually ruled by a council of many of its most respected occupants, but some may have a single person who they place at the head of this council or come to call chieftan. Some tribes may go as far as to include tattoos of their symbols on their members or respected members. Inter-tribe trade is common, considering the people of The Oran Audune are mostly traders and merchants. They rely on movement mostly on foot through the desert, since riding anything through the desert can be extremely dangerous with the odd magical effects of the desert.

The Oran Audune has no complete government structure; instead, the tribes wander its land individually. None of them has placed claim to the Audune as a whole, instead preferring to protect the Audune in individual tribes. Outsiders aren’t allowed to settle there, but other than that, there is no current real governing system. The Audune has been attacked by outsiders a few times, but the forces of even two tribes together can be extremely deadly.

Undershade Kyngdom~

Only certain creatures live in this place, and only one species can traverse the worlds. These are called Undershade Canines (more on them later). Undershade Kyngdom is exactly like Kyngdom, except the sun is dark and so everything, except for the so-called 'glowadows', is in perpetual shade. Glowadows are in the exact spot that a shadow in Kyngdom is, but it is in light.

A list of some of the more common Undershade creatures:

Undershade Stonepeckers - Crystalline birds of all shapes and sizes. All of them peck at stone to release the minerals inside the rocks into the air, which the stonepeckers then breathe into themselves to get the minerals.

Undershade Butterflies - Huge butterflies, with the usual wingspan of six feet. They come in all sorts of colors and color pallettes.

Undershade Pangolins - Yes, I know, quite random, but true. It is not uncommon for someone in Undershade Kyngdom to come across these three-inch-tall, white pangolins.

And now for Undershade Canines.

Undershade Canines~

These gigantic, wolf-like creatures are extremely rare and hard to find. They are the only ones who can phase between worlds. To do this, they merely have to step into a glowadow. If you've ever thought you saw something flicker in the shadows, you probably just saw an Undershade Canine phase in and out of your world. To go back to Undershade Kyngdom, they just have to want to back and step into a shadow.
