MYTHS AND LEGENDS

This Book of Myths and Legends is intended to inform, illuminate, educate, and elucidate. But the trepidatious Reader must proceed with caution. Once the Reader has filled their mind with thoughts of Beasts, the Reader can no longer un-know them. Sometimes, the only safeguard against the shuddersome creatures that stalk this Globe is to utterly deny their existence.

Welcome Destiny! I love the picture you drew. Are you new to Kyngdom? Also, your name makes me think of the character from finding Dory.

Thank you! Yes I am new. I started like the day before yesterday. I have not watched Finding Dory. I draw lots of pictures. I have been trying to do one of myself. I hope to post it on the art thread soon.

Welcome, Destiny. We're glad you're here.

Thunder-Birds

These giant Birds of legend, also known as Roc birds, are related to the Pheanixe. They hunt elephant as they are so huge nothing else can sustain them. Their bones are giant but amazingly fragile, as to stay airborn when they are even bigger than Fire Dragons their bones are hollow, and only a thin shell of bone is left. They are usually golden or storm-grey and they used to appear when a storm is about to happen, or, very rarely, as a warning that a, ah, metaphorical storm is brewing. Exeptionally rare as BIG and other human organizations have hunted them almost to extinction, sometimes for food at times of drought, sometimes to trade their feathers as they are warm and huge. They are often described as a giant-eagle-like bird, with a strange tail split near the end into two small wing-like membranes, and giant, lethal talons. Their eyes are cloudy with no pupil, almost glass-like orbs and are treasured as future-seeing devices, as legend says that the Roc/Thunder-Bird can see almost into the future, but to a lesser extent than of the Earth-Dragons.

They can fly at an amazing speed and some sightings of them are dismissed as seeing a falling star. Fewer and fewer sightings have been reported, however, as we suspect that only twelve or fewer exist. They are so close to extinction that a ban has been passed to all animals and humans to kill, poach, or hunt Thunder-Birds, for both the safety of the animal/human in question and the Bird itself. However, it may be too late too save them, as already the few sightings that are reported often end in scars and fatalities from the Roc's giant talons. We fear they may, after being brutally attacked and hunted, never help, warn, or trust any other species ever again. If one is found injured then do NOT approache it but conact the Cypher Labs to help it.

I did? Thank you!

Frankly I wrote that just by, well, let's just say I remember a lot about mythological creatures and have no idea how I learned about it. Thank you. I love writing that stuff. It annoys me that sometimes people take no time whatsoever to work on something, but luckily this basically almost never happens here. =)

Quote from me (YES-I-HAVE-SUCH-A-GIANT-EGO): "Never say never unless you're saying this sentence."

The WereWynter Dragon (scientific name: hiemen draco) is a fierce yet gentle beast known for being able to survive nearly any enviroment. It is a medium-sized species with white scales speckled with blue spots and has white fur covering the underbelly and underscales. An easy way to identify one of these beasts is by the tail spikes, or scutes, that are also found on alligators and crocodiles.  The dragon derives the name by originating from the coldness of the Artic, hence the coloring of this dragon. The WereWynter Dragon also is known to have basic magical skills, alghthough these depend on the phases of the moon. Special lunar events, such as the solstice or the eclipse can result in a weaker or stronger flow of power. Ability to transform into a dragon is also based on the lunar phases. When not in dragonform, the WereWynter usually takes on the form of a human.

Temperment: This dragon can be both shy yet bold, slow to trust but loyal to close friends. It often will hide itself by means of camoflauge and study the person it intends to talk to before appearing. They are often alone rather than in groups and prefer quiet than noise.

Talents: This dragon has an uncanny musical ability and often preferres a special instrument to play. The WereWynter will often perch itself in a tree or clearing and weave its emotion into the music. The dragon can also lace magic into the instrument of choice and create a instrument with magic in it. However, these instruments are significantly far less powerful than a Power and are not considered to be one. One of the greatest gifts to recieve from this species is an instrument with magic inside.

Weaknesses: This dragon can be injured by normal and magical weapons, but has no special or specific weakness. The new moon is when these creatures are left with no magical power due to the moon not being there or rather, invisible. However, the wound that cuts deepest is a betrayal or loss by one of a WereWynter's most trusted...

The Madness of Elliot

Back in the day, Alexander and ELliot were exploring the tunnels with the other animals and humans. But in the tunnels, a part of Jaaw's soul was sucked into Elliot. He went instantly insane, and ran back to SailHaven.

It took months for Elliot to go truly mad.
