Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

 My mot

My mother was destroyed by the Brayzen Inquiry Guild. My father was chased away by them. And my brother... Something much worse happened to him. We all used to live in a village in the mountains of Northern Kyngdom, close enough to the city that my parents could ride there on horsback every day for work, but far enough that I could see the stars in the nighttime I don't live there anymore. The eight-year-old girl from the village... she's gone. She dissapeared when I became an orphan, five years ago. That was when I sold the cabin in the mountains and left the village of the humans forever. I took nothing with me but the clothes I wore, the pack on my back, and my horse, Diana. I travelled to places they didn't teach about in the schools provided by BIG. I travelled along brown forest roads, through dryest deserts, and across the prairie lands. I am still wandering.

In my travels, I met... creatures. Creatures they don't teach you about in a classroom. Since if your reading this, your probably human (and ignorant as I was), I'll fill you in. Basically, there are five major groups: The moon children, the selkies, the fae, the cats that walk like men, and the dragons. Here's your crash course: the moon children are wolves that speak, the selkies are fish people, the fae are fairies, the cats are, well, cats, except they walk like humans and talk like humans. And the dragons are the most elusive and powerful of all. There are also others, humans, like me. Renegades, bounty hunters, merchants, gypsies, rouges. But we are not as common as the animals, the tribes. Unlike them, we do not belong. So that was the history lesson for today. You know how I said earlier that I am always on the road? Well nowI'm staying at the Bog and Burrow Inn, where the rooms are cheap and mystery meat's always on the menu. I'm in room 13, if you want to come visit. My name's shadow, by the way.

I walk down the rickety stairs that lead to the first level of the Bog and Burrow, to catch up on the latest news, 'cause no matter where your from and who (or what) you are, there's always gossip at the Bog and Burrow. I overhear a ranger and a chinchilla mention the war. Oops, I forgot who I was talking to. The war is pretty much a gian twar that's been going on for at least eight years now, between BIG and PAAWS. PAAWS is a secret resistance of forest dwellers, and, well, if your reading this then you know who BIG is. Almost everyone from the village was on BIG's side, and here in the forest most are for PAAWS. Me? I'm not really on either side. I steal what I can, sell what I can, to make a living That's good enough for me.

Hello readers! I stopped by the forest market recently and found an... old radio! I tricked it out with some extra parts I found (some of them possibly magic), and I can tune into some of BIG's broadcasts now. If anything interesting happens, I'll post it on another thread.

I turn the dial on the old radio, the one I just got at the market place's booth of used objects. yes, thats  a thing! At first, all I get is static. Then, I hear something.

*Help! Thechibeetle! I (Trill. W.) and many others are trapped under the Labrynth Lands, there is a Giant Sloth emerging from a crack, and on top of it all,the tunnels are starting to flood!

we need backup! Quickly! Someone----*

And the signal is lost.

I am shocked speechless. I just recieved a distress signal, from someone named Techibeetle. If I can tap into distress signals, maybe I can tap into BIG...

Hi, Shadow!

I'm Eliyana Fur Pawprint--but please call me Eli (pernounced Ellie. I'm a girl.). I was part of the tunnel exploration, and just so you know, almost everyone got out all right! I'm glad you got the distress signal though. Watch out for any owls...

Yes, that is what the humans call you. What do you call yourself?  And are you in group or are you a loner? Me, I'm a loner. For good.

The animal in front of me is amazing. She is one of the cats that walk like men, but she's different. Her coat's a bunch of different shades of brown, like sunlight falling on the ground of the forest. but the left side of her face is scarred, a mish mash of poorly sewn stitches. Her right leg is entirely metal. Yes, she is a cyborg. On top of all this, she wears a long trench coat, covering up everything else. Her tail pokes out from the back of the coat. At first sight, she is, well, a shock. But once, she was beautiful. To some she still is. I look forward to speaking with her, but i can't help but wonder if all the visitors to room thirteen will be like this.

After my meeting with Mina, the cat girl, I go downstairs and post a flier advertising my expertise. No one has hired me in a while, and I can't rely on theft for everything. Things have been especially tuff lately, with the war and all. Normally I could manage, but that on top of no one hiring me out anymore I can barely make enough to pay the rent on room thirteen. I might have to leave soon.

Hi everyone. Something kind of big happened. you may have noticed I've been gone for a while.  If you try to visit, you will find room thirteen empty. the following is the story of events leading up to now. I will be telling it in two parts. You may have noticed that I am now inNorthern Kyngdom. Do not try to find me.

After I spoke with Mina, I was exausted. So I crawled into my bed, and slept.

~-~-~-~-~

I woke up to see the gentle rays of the sun creeping their way into my room through the trashy curtains that cover my windows. I get up, and rubbed the sleep goop from my bleary eyes. I quickly got out of bed and ran down the stairs to see if anyone responded to the message I posted on the bulletin board downstairs. At first I saw nothing but an advertisment for Folly Fox's Pup Sitting. I banged my head against the wall in frustration, and the wall shook, and by extension, the bulletin board. In my blind rage, I didn't even notice the piece of paper that fluttereddown to the ground from it's resting place in-between the bulletin board and the wall until I turn around from halfway up the stairs. I ran to the little piece of paper. I picked it up, and read it over and over again.

Meet me in the kitches at Midnight.

I couldn't believe it. Somebody read my add. And they wanted to meet me. Yes, it seems weird that they wanted to meet me at midnight, but belive me, you get used to strange clients when you do what I do for a living.

~-~-~-~-~

It's exactly midnight. The full moon shines brightly outside tonight, the same moon that shone when I met the mystery client in the kitchens. The kitchens where dark as I entered, but as soon as I made a sound, all the lights turned on. In the far corner of the kitchen lurked a figure. He has light curly brown hair and green eyes the color of spring. He's tall, taller than me, and I guessed he was about sixteen. But the most stunning thing about him is this: protruding from the top of his head are ears. The ears of a fox.

"Hello shadow," he whispered. His voice is soft, calming.

I was too stunned to speak.

Sorry guys, I have to go catch dinner now. I should be able to catch you up on the rest of my adventures tomorrow.

The fox boy and I spoke for awhile. He told me he opposed BIG, and that he had a special mission for me. My task was to infultrate BIG during a charity ball they were having at their headquarters and free a stolen griffin. I was to enter the ball desguised as a guest, and overide the security coads on the doors to gain access to one of the labs where the griffin was being kept. He gave me a map, an invitation to the ball, and three hundred lupas to get the job done. A 'lupa' for your information, is the currency of the humans. Animals, as far as I can tell, mainly deal in favors, or they barter. If they have a curency, they haven't told me. The last I remember was waking up in the morning in my room at the Bog and Burrow. My only clue that the events of the last night were the invitation to the ball, the map of BIG headquarters and the sack of money. I also found a note stuck to my forhead (yes, it seems fox boy has a sense of humor) telling me to get the job done quick. So I packed up my stuff and left the Bog and Burrow. Yes, I will miss the place, but a job is a job, and I never turn down money.

Will fill you in on the rest tomorrow

Out of character

that's actually where I got the inspiration for fox-boy. Kitsunes are super cool!
