Kyngdom Survival Guide

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

 My mot

My mother was destroyed by the Brayzen Inquiry Guild. My father was chased away by them. And my brother... Something much worse happened to him. We all used to live in a village in the mountains of Northern Kyngdom, close enough to the city that my parents could ride there on horsback every day for work, but far enough that I could see the stars in the nighttime I don't live there anymore. The eight-year-old girl from the village... she's gone. She dissapeared when I became an orphan, five years ago. That was when I sold the cabin in the mountains and left the village of the humans forever. I took nothing with me but the clothes I wore, the pack on my back, and my horse, Diana. I travelled to places they didn't teach about in the schools provided by BIG. I travelled along brown forest roads, through dryest deserts, and across the prairie lands. I am still wandering.

We make two plane changes. Before we board the second plane, or 'skyboat' as the animals call it, we are all thrown into crates. Mina gets a medium, Icy gets a small, and I get a large crate, the kind one might keep a large dog in. I feel my crate being loaded onto another plane. On the flight, I speak with Icy.

"Where do you think we're going?" I ask her,

"I'm not quite sure. Wherever we're going, it can't be good,"

We sit in silence for a moment.

"How did they know?" asks Icy,

"What do you mean?"

"They didn't pick me because I was a human. They already had enough. Why would i have been nescessary? They must have known about my... Wings," she whispers the last part, making sure that nobody else could hear.

"Icy," I say,"There is a spy among us."

She's quiet for a moment.

"Shadow?" says Icy

"Yes?"

"I'm going to sleep,"

"Okay,"  I say, and leave her to it. Subconsciously, I start to hum. And the humming turns into singing, and before I know it, all the chatter of all the other prisoners around me fades away, and all I hear is the song.

Follow the crow, follow the crow

She will show you the way

Follow the crow, follow the crow

She won't lead you astray

I hear Icy's snores as I finish my melody. I try to fall into blissful sleep, just like Icy's done, but Mina's crying wakes me up every time I even close my eyes. I feel bad for her, but at the same time I would sacrifice Leva a million times if only I could get the old Mina back.

I continue to pretend to be asleep while Shadow and Icy talk. Shadow thinks I'm a spy. Should I tell her that she's right? I mean, Catastrophe is the one who took my sister away fro  me, because he helped form SOCS. I sit up, and Icy and Shadow stop talking.

"Hey, Mina," Icy says.

I nod.

Then I notice something about my crate. The lock isn't that difficult. If the guards just didn't look.

"Icy," I whisper, beckoning for her to come closer.

"Yes?" she asks.

"Can you make those guards pass out?"

"I can try," she replies. "But then how are we going to get out of our crates?"

"Leave that to me," I say.

She nods, looking at my paws. She looks at the guard and does some waving motions with her hand. She then puts her hand in a paw shape and then spreads her fingers out, and the guards pass out.

I unlock my cage, and then unlock Shadow and Icy's. Once we're all out, we try to formulate a plan.

"Okay, so, the only way to get off the ship, is to, well...." Shadow says nervously, looking at Icy and me. "Jump off."

I look at Shadow and then Icy.

"I'm the only one who won't survive, because you two have wings." I instantley regret saying that. Now Shadow and Icy know that I know.

Icy's eyes widen. "You little li-"

"That doesn't matter now!" I hiss. "Shadow, you carry me. Icy, touch Shadow."

Icy touches Shadow, and out from her back spread wings. I try to open the cargo door, but it's too stuck tight. Shadow gives it a shot and she rips the door off of it's hinges.

"Remind me notr to get on your bad side," I mutter.

She laughs a little bit.

Guards come from all areas of the ship.

"Oh, no, you don't!" one yells.

Oh yes we do.

Shadow picks me up and leaps off of the ship, Icy following us. The guards try to get us, but they are too slow. The turbulance knowcks both Shadow and Icy off balance, and we go spiralling down in mid air. Icy and Shadow float a little bit before we crash land in hot sand. Good thing they did float, or we would all be dead. Icy, Shadow, and I stand up and brush oursleves off.

"Where are we?" Icy asks, coughing.

Shadow looks around. "In some kind of desert."

"C'mon," I say.

"No!" Icy exclaims. "We all have too much to say to you."

"That can wait," I say. "We need to get going. The desert's not friendly now, but it definentley won't be friendly at night."

Icy and Shadow looks at each other.

"You're right," Shadow says.

Icy nods.

We walk for an hour. All of us are getting worn out when we see what looks like a town.

"Almost there," I say. I'm parched.

"Right," Shadow croaks.

We finally arrive at the town. A small, worn out sign says something. It's not clear at first, but we could definentley tell were we were.

"Aslahari," Shadow says.

(Hey people of this thread! Since our new setting for now will be in Aslahari, should we move this to the actual Aslahari thread so the charries in there can participate, too? It would be kind of cool, but let's see what everyone thinks. Thanks!)

I pound the crate. Who could be a traitor?! Not... I change the subject. "Shadow, you okay in there?" "Yeah. It's stuffy." Is the muffled reply. "Mina?" I ask. "Fine." She says in a poisonous voice.

"I-I can't believe that they k-killed--" I'm choking up a bit. "I'm used to B.I.G. They wouldn't kill humans, or really anything. They practically idolized humans." Is all I can say, while silent tears are flowing. They can't see me cry. They can't.

Suddenly, I hear yells and shouts of happiness. Human yells--"Finally, home sweet home." I hear a sinister voice say. Are we at another lab..?

I think we should post on both. Whenever you post something on here, post it on Aslahari as well. Do this until we leave Aslahari. Also, maybe Icy's still on the plane? Because I'm not sure if we should follow Mina's (I mean Ravage's) or Icy's story and I think we could compromise if we want to do both.

Maybe we could fllow Icy's plot if after we spend some time in Aslahari and then they find us and capture us again.

Aslahari. I would recognize the town anywhere. Although I have never seen it in person, I have many a time examined it in maps and written to its inhabitants. The desert jewel, it is as beautiful as I imagined.

We make an attempt at walking into the town when someone leaps out at us, with a spear.

"Who are you?" she asks, rolling her R's.

"Who are you?" I ask calmly.

She slowly puts down her spear, and stands up straight.

"I don't need a little kitten asking questions."

I growl and try to leap at her, but Shadow holds me back. The girl backs up.

"Look," Icy snaps. "We didn't come here for trouble. It's just been a long day."

"And why shoud I let you in?" she replies snarkily.

"Because," Shadow says cooly. "We are seeking a place of refuge."

The girl looks down at her hands. "ANd you think that's enough information to get me to let you in?"

I've had it with her.

I leap at her and grab the coller of her sand colored robe.

"Alright, look here," I say, letting a deep growling sound emit from my throat. "We've had enough of humans and other people who think they can push us around because they have more technology or greater forces than us." I'm practically yelling now. "And you don't need to be added to the list. This kid," I say, pointing to Icy, but with my other hand so I can still grab on to the coller of her robe. "Has wings that can appear if she touches her," I say, pointing to Shadow. "And this girl was experimented on more times than you've been alive so that she could have those giant things on her back. And me," I growl. "You don't want to know what I can do. We're running from people that can destroy this entire town. NOW LET US IN!"

I realize that I've lifted her off of the ground. I put her down slowly, and she backs up. The girl nods, and runs into the village. We walk into the town, scanning for water. We find a well about ten yards from where we are standing.

"Just a little longer," Icy gasps.

Icy and I walk side by side when we hear a thump behind us.

We look at eachother and say in unison. "Shadow."

We run to her, and pick her up.

"She's--too--heavy," I grunt.

"Yeah--she--is," Icy manages to say.

"Must be the wings," I mutter.

Icy nods.

We finally let her down with a thump. We grasp our knees, trying to catch our breaths.

"There's no way--hang on!" Icy exclaims.

"What?" I ask.

She moves her hands around, and she makes a force field like what she made when we were captured.

"Now if I can just use it to lift her off of the ground...." she says.

Icy finally gets her up, and we head to the well. But there's no water in it. Icy looks like she's going to blow a gasket.

"WHAT'S THE POINT OF PUTTING ONE IF THERE IS. NO. WATER?!"

A girl walks up to me and taps me on the shoulder.

"Did your friend want water?" she asks.

"Actually, we all wanted water," I say. I then point to Shadow. "She passed out, probably because of the heat and dehydration."

The girl looks up at the sky, alarmed. "Come, quick! Bring your friend, too," she says, looking at Shadow.

Icy looks at me, and I nod.

We follow the girl into a hut. It's kind of like a sand dune, but it looks a little more brightly painted than the other ones nearby.

"Nice color choice," Icy says.

"Thank you," the girl says, smiling. "I chose them."

Icy nods.

We enter the house, and the smell of freshly made bread and cooked fish and pork suround the house. Off in the distance, you can smell a hint of jasmine.

"Put your friend on this bed," she says, motioning to a bed that has brightly colored balcnkets on it.

After we lay Shadow on the bed, the girl draws water for us, and motions us to come sit at the table.

"Okay," she says, as we all sit down. "I'm Sienna, and I'd like to know what a girl with wings, a girl with hidden wings, and a weird-looking cat are doing in Aslahari."

Icy and I look at each other.

"That's Mina," she says, pointing to me. She points to Shadow. "That's Shadow, and I'm Icy. And how did you know I have wings?" Icy asks, as we both turn back to face Sienna.

"Oh, please," Sienna shrugs. "Word spreads faster here then Zashlak does in a herd of Yorikins."

"What?" Icy asks.

Sienna sighs. "Never mind that. What's brought you all here?"

We tell her the enitre story from where Shadow and I first met until when we all escaped SOCS's ship.

She nods. "We have an antidote for your problem, Mina. And Shadow's not the only one out there with that kind of mutation."

"What's the anitdote?" I ask.

She stands up and walks away into the house, coming back a couple of minutes later.

"It's called Redonstord. It's for when experiments go wrong. We've treated people and animals like you before. You'll be you again."

I look at her skeptically. Can it be that easy?

"Trust me," she says, answering my question. "It does work. Just take a sip."

I open the green bottle that she handed me and take a sip. My body feels tingly, and I shudder.

They both look at me, expectantly.

"Nothing happened," Icy says.

"Oh," Sienna says, shrugging. "Sorry, it usually works, but I guess it didn't this time. Sometimes it does that. We'll get you help, though, I can assure you that."

I nod, a trifle dissapointed. Oh, well. It was worth a shot.

"Anyway," Sienna says. "To answer your question, Yorikins are animals that are a mixture of a chicken, cow, sheep, and pig. Dogs usually herd them."

Dogs, hearding those? Man, I feel kind of bad for them.

I suddenely hear both of them gasp.

"What?" I ask.

"You're-you're," Icy stutters.

"A-a dog!" Sienna says, finishing Icy's sentence.

What?! A dog? How...?

I look around for a mirror and find a body mirror next to where Shadow is sleeping. I run over to it and look at it. I'm not a cat anymore. My snout is longer, I have less sharp ears, and I look more like a wolf.

No, I have to be a cat! I am a cat! Suddenely, I look in the mirror again, and I'm a cat.

I slowly turn around and look at Icy and Sienna with wide eyes. "Um, guys...?"

They stare at me in shock.

"Can the results be reversed?" I ask Sienna.

"No," she whispers. "I don't think that this one can be reversed."

I think of a monkey and look back at the mirror. Now I am one. I think of myself, a cat, again. I turn back into myself. I look back at Icy and Sienna.

Icy gulps. "The antidote thing.... It made you a shape-shifter!"

Just then, Shadow wakes up. We all turn to look at her. She sits up and rubs her eyes.

"Did I miss anything?"

Mina,

I would like to formally aoalogize for the harshness of SailHaven against you. I am not sure you are a pawn of Catastrophe, and would like to try and reach an agreement. Is that OK?
