Just ignore the post I put up above ZB's. I like hers better anyway.

Tray-

Like Sam had said all those months ago, when Jenifer said something, her words stuck with you. "I'll go, but I want to go alone," I said sternly. "Are you sure?" "Yes I'm sure." "How are you going to get there?" I opened a crack in the ground. "This is how." I jumped down the crack and was soon in the underworld. I opened another crack, this time in the celing, and came up in front of the shack. I walked in as confidently as possible. "I'm here!" I shouted. Then he was just there, same old smirk plastered on his face. "So, have you made your decision?" he asked. "Yes." "And it is?" "I'm not joining any evil side. But I'm still going to try and save you. You're not a bad person at heart, I know that. Jenifer knows it too. I think Kathrine knows but she knows everything so that doesn't count. Anyway, I'm not joining you but I'm not going to stop trying to save you." He genuinly smiled. "Fair enough." He started to walk away. "Wait, that's it? No 'I'm going to kill you's? No knives? No swords?" "No, I can't do that to you of all people anymore. The other day with Hiporborean made me realize that." My hand rose to one of the slowly healing gashes in my arm. "That's it?" I asked. "That's it. But I'm not going to tell you that Hiporborean is coming to get you at your campsite because that would be cheating. So I won't tell you." He winked at me as a smile crept onto my face. "Oh, and one more thing." And then he kissed me. I don't think I've ever been happier. Because this time we didn't want to kill each other. "What was that for?" I asked, breaking away. He just shrugged then disappeared in a cloud of smoke. I smiled. "OK then." Suddenly I remembered his warning and took the underworld back to the campsite. Sam and Kathrine were back. After doing everything I could to apologize to Sam (which I think she accepted as a real honest to the gods apology) I told them what happened. "He kissed you?" Jenifer asked sounding slightly horrified. "Yes. But don't forget what he didn't tell me about Hiporborean and Jack." "Yes. If we don't leave now Tray won't survive annother attack by them." Kathrine said in that always odd 12 year old voice. We packed up as quickly as possible then got back into the death trap of a bus.

Sam-

“Where should we drive to?” I yelled to the others, taking my eyes off the road.

“Sam, are you crazy?! Don’t you ever turn around again!” Jen screamed, her face pale green.

I turned back just in time to swerve away from a car.

“Back to your house?” Tray suggested. She’d gotten along with my mom, but then again, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea; Jack and Hyperborean might expect us to go there.

As if she’d read my mind, Katherine said, “We can’t go there. I know another place, though.”

“Where?” I inquired.

“Turn right off the highway, then take a left and another right. We should find a Hilton Inn there.”

“Have you noticed that we look like street kids AND we don’t have enough money for a hotel like that?!” Jen had been on edge ever since Tray revealed her kiss with Nick.

“So?”

“So? We can’t stay there.”

“Sure we can. I’ve got a plan.”

*

“Miss Valonto, is that you?” No, it wasn’t. It was I in some receptionist’s clothes from the back. I guess the receptionist was Miss Valonto.

Katherine’s plan had been to dress one of us up, get her over to the reception and check us in – or rather; act like we were checking in.

“Ahem, no, it’s Miss Jeffers.”

“Miss Jeffers?” A large lady dressed in a blazer and pants walked over to me.

“The- Miss Valonto told me to take over.”

“She can’t do that. Only the boss!”

This wasn’t going well.

“She just said, until she gets back from the bathroom.”

“Miss Valonto went home an hour ago.”

“Yeah, well“ I looked at my feet, not knowing what to do. “It’s your lucky day, Ms.-“ I glanced at her brass nametag, “Ms. Anderson! You just won a flight to the Caribbean!”

“What?” She jumped up and squealed. “I can’t believe it! I won the game!”

“The game?”

“The crossword puzzle in Places to Go.”

“Um…?”

“Didn’t it say Turkey and not the Caribbean?”

“That was changed,” I muttered.

“When should I go?”

“Right now! You have to drive to your nearest Travel Agent thingy and schedule your trip.”

“Okay, okay!” Then she ran out of the room.

Tray, Jen and Katherine walked up to the reception.

Tray hit the bell multiple times, even though I was standing right there.

“Eh… Welcome to the Hilton Inn. May I help you?”

“We would like a room,” Tray giggled, hitting the bell again like a baby.

“How many nights?”

“One.”

“One?”

“Yes, then we’ll move on.”

“Okay,” I typed around on the computer keys. Then I randomly took a card to open the door and gave it to them. “Have a nice day.”

Suddenly an older couple came in with suitcases.

“Have fun,” Jen winked.

After half an hour of trying to figure out how to turn the computer on and find their reservations, I escaped upstairs.

I quickly stuck my key in the lock and the door swung open. Then I was knocked out.

Tray-

I was tied up and gagged. Nick had just knocked Sam out. He removed the gag. "Sorry, but duty calls." He threw me over his shoulder and left the building. "What, do, you, mean, duty, calls!" I shouted as he ran from the building. "Hiporborean's been tracking you. Either I got you or Jack did. I figured this was the better option." If he hadn't just knocked Sam out I might have smiled. He threw me into the back of a truck and untied me. Then he locked the back and got in the front seat. "What was the tying up part for?" He shrugged. "You would have tried to stop me. I know that much for sure." I climbed into the passenger seat. "Where are we going?" "Someplace safe." "As in?" "I'm not sure yet." We drove for hours before I got sick of it. "Ok, we've got to stop somewhere. I'm tired, and no matter how godly you think you are I know you're tired too." His eye lids had long since started to droop, and I didn't need a car crash on top of all the other injuries I had. "Besides, if we don't stop soon I have a feeling I'm going to start to bleed again." He nodded and pulled up beside a run down old house. "What now, becuase I'm not going anywhere else until you tell me what's going on." He turned to look directly at me. "When you came to the shack somehow Jack got a tracker on you and they've been tracking you and the others since the campsite. They want to kill you but they don't know I've got you." He had a triumphant grin on his face but I was horrified. "You just left them there to die?!" I shouted. His smile faded. "No! They're fine. Hiporborean and Jack want to kill you, not them." "Doesn't mean they won't! We have to go back now!" "No way!" I glared strait at him. "You are taking me back to that hotel NOW. Got it?" He took a deep breath and nodded. It took as hours to get back to the hotel. When we got there I almost broke into tears. They were gone. All of them. There was a note on one of the beds.
Nice job Tray. See you back in Greece! I'm sure you remember the poison...
I caught my breath. Nick took the note and read it. "See you back in Greece? What does that mean?" "On our first quest I was kidnapped by some person I don't really remember who and they tied me to a table in a colliseum and monsters and demi-gods tried to kill me. Only one person was able to do anything. A demi-god, I think it was, shot me with a poisoned arrow. I almost died because of it. That's what he means. He wants me to go back because that's where he's got them," I explained. "Oh." Boys were so clueless sometimes. "And that's why I've got to go." "What no way! They just want to kill you!" "I know that, but I can't just leave them there!" "Why not?" I glared at Nick. "What do you mean why not? They're my friends that's why! I have to help them!" He looked a little helpless. "Come on Nick, try and remember your humanity. Try to remember what it was like to have friends you want to save!" He nodded solemly. "Ok fine. But we're going together. Don't even try to argue! And one more thing." He handed me a square of something that looked gold. "Eat it." I took a bite and quickly gobbled up the rest because it tasted amazing. It was something totally new. It definitely wasn't nectar or ambrosia. I noticed something. The long-lasting pain that came from my wounds was gone. I looked and noticed that all the wounds were gone. "What is that stuff?!" I asked, really energized by whatever it was. "In simple terms, a godlyish medicine. That was last of it I had though. Figured you needed it more than me." I couldn't resist so I kissed him. "All right let's go. How do we get there?" He grinned that weird Nick grin. In no time we were flying to Greece. "I HATE FLYING!" I yelled over the roar of the wind. "YOU'LL GET USED TO IT!" he yelled back laughing.

Sam-

My vision was blurry as if a curtain was blocking my sight. My head hurt especially in the back where I’d been hit.

I reached to rub the mist out of my eyes but couldn’t for my wrists were tied to a hard marble column. The column often in coliseums.

I noticed Katherine and Jen next to me. Katherine was still out but Jen was wide-awake and looking around the high-ceilinged room.

“This is the place from two years ago…”

“What?”

“The place where Tray was almost killed.”

I was slowly remembering. This was where a demi-god had almost killed Tray, but we’d been able to save her. Thank the gods.

Suddenly a large giant walked out of the shadows.

“Lookie, lookie. My little sweets are already awake.” Hyperborean greeted us with mock happiness.

“Where’s Tray?” I demanded.

“Tray?” Jack walked out from behind a pillar. “You mean Nick’s little lover?” I knew she was trying to sound angry, but it came out as a more jealous comment.

“What did you do with her?” Jen attempted to lunge but her bonds held her back.

“Nothing, she wasn’t there.”

“Wasn’t there?” I cried. “Do you mean-“

“She’s not dead. Otherwise we wouldn’t have taken you… You’re bait.” Hyperborean giggled (if evil giants can do such a thing).

At that moment I wished I had an empathy link with Tray, but I didn’t so I just prayed to the gods and hoped she wouldn’t come.

But what do you know, she did.

Tray-

As soon as we got to the colliseum I almost fainted. Jack and Hiporborean. I saw Jen and Sam stare in shock as Nick joined me. I pulled out my knife, and he pulled out his sword. "You better not flake out on me," I muttered. "I'll try not to." Then I leapt at Jack and Nick attacked Hiporborean. I slashed at Jack but she jumped back. She stabbed but I dodged. I slid past her and cut her ankle. She cried out and attacked. I slashed and dodged. She cut my face and stabbed my thigh. I screamed in pain and sunk to the floor. "Ahh, petty little girl. Nick could do so much better." Was that jealously? She was an inch away when I leapt up and cut a deep gash across her stomach. She cried out and fell to the ground shaking. Hiporborean was with her in seconds. He picked her up glared at me and was gone. I turned to Nick who didn't look too good but better than me at least. He wrapped up the gash on my thigh and then we turned back to Sam, Jen, and Kathrine (who had just woken up). Sam stared open-mouthed at me. "That was, stupid." I rolled my eyes. "Ya really stupid. I saved your sorry butt too though, don't forget that!" "Whatever, just untie me." "Wait, Tray, what happened to all the gashes from that torture session with Hiporborean?" She shot Nick and angry hate-filled glare and he looked at his feet. "Nick gave me this special medicine and I'm all good now." Jen didn't look like she believed me but she didn't argue. I untied Sam then Jen then finally Kathrine. "So what now?" I asked. "We go find somewhere safe to stay," Jen said exasperated. I turned to Nick. "Are you coming?" I asked, hoping more than anything that he'd stay, but sadly he shook his head. "Can't sorry." He kissed me lightly then was gone. Again.

OK, I know that it's weird putting up two posts, one right after the other but I have a really good idea. So this is just like an add-on to my last post.

Tray-

We rode on those ugly pony things Sam always uses back to the U.S. We were somewhere in Florida when we stopped. We set up camp quietly. Sam and Kathrine cooked something that smelled a little like burt rubber. "Ew, what is that?" Sam turned around and rolled her eyes. "It's food. It's also all we've got left so suck it up." I took the plate. It looked a little like burnt rubber too. Suddenly I heard something. "Oh what now?!" I whined. Nick came out of the bushes looking angry. "Nick?" I asked in disbelief. He took out his sword and charged. I quickly took out my knife to defend myself. He was fighting harshly, worse than I've ever seen. Like some kind of animal. He slashed and stabbed, but I was good and dodged almost all his blows. Soon he got close and I noticed something. His eyes were no longer electric blue, but liquid gold. "URANUS?!" I shouted angrily. He'd obviously mastered the psychotic grin he gave me. "I'm back!" I was so shocked he managed to get one good blow in. "URANUS!!!" Jen shouted. I don't think I've ever heard a more horrific sound. Jen leapt at him, knocking him off me. She fought better than anything I've ever seen her do. I just watched in amazement as Jen fought off Nick/Uranus. "Is it really Uranus?" Sam asked. I nodded. "Yup, he's got those liquid gold eyes Jen had last year." Jen didn't even seem to need any help. She fought viciously. Eventually Nick/Uranus jumped into a tree. "Until next time." His voice was the same evil voice Jen had last year too. I knew without a doubt that somehow Uranus had taken control of Nick. He grinned devilishly then disappeared.

So whadya think?

Sorry, I haven't been posting! I've been really busy studying...

Sam-

After Nick arrived, attacked Tray and disappeared again, I was in serious shock.

“Um, was that the Nick who kissed you just a few hours ago?” I raised my eyebrows and looked at the burnt tree branch where he’d turned into smoke.

Jen got off the ground and helped Tray up as if nothing had happened at all. “I told you he was weak…”

“I didn’t think- I didn’t believe- I thought-“ Tray stammered, her skin whiter than a dead person’s.

“He’s trying…” Katherine touched the black branch. Immediately new bark grew over the patch.

“Right! Katherine, I’m so glad you understand,” said Tray, smiling nervously.

“I didn’t say he’d succeed.”

Tray’s face fell.

“You know… I really don’t think fighting a monster like Uranus is…easy.” I added, not wanting Tray to feel so bad, though it was her fault that she loved Nick. (If you can call loving someone a mistake.)

“Yeah… He’s trying.” Then she stomped into the tent.

*

I was yanked out of a dream by a twig snapping outside. Tray was up, too.

“It’s him,” she whispered, opening the tent flap.

“You’ve got your sword?”

She pointed to the glinting blade in her hand.

I took my knife from my pajama sleeve.

“Tray!” Nick ran and kissed her. But she pulled away.

“Don’t act like nothing happened!”

“Wh-what?”

“Today you almost killed me.”

“Are you having hallucinations?”

“Don’t act dumb, Nick. You know exactly what you did!” I shoved my knife in his face.

“Have you all gone crazy?” He backed away, his face a mix of confusion and anger.

“How could you, Nick? I thought you were good!” Tray made an effort to swallow down her tears.

He took her hands and pressed them to his heart. “I sincerely swear that I didn’t do anything and that I’m the same person as before.”

A small smile began to form on Tray’s lips. “You mean it?”

“Mhm.” He kissed her.

Could Nick really lie that well or did he actually mean it? But if it wasn’t him, did he have an evil twin or had someone actually figured out how to clone him?

Tray-

I was seriously confused. Actually, I don't think I've ever been more confused. How could Nick have more than one personality. One minute he was perfect, the next he was Uranus. I pulled away from him again. "What is it?" he asked. "Why did you put Uranus in you?" I asked. He looked shocked. "What do you mean put Uranus in me?" "Five minutes ago you attacked me with liquid gold eyes. The same eyes Jen had. Kathrine comfirmed it. You purposely tried to put Uranus in you." "What do you mean?" "You know what I mean!" "No, I honestly don't." "Tell me the truth or leave!" I shouted. He looked shocked. "What?" "You heard me, tell me the truth or leave. Now." He glanced at me, then looked at the ground. He sighed, then walked away. "Seriously?" I shouted after him. "You won't tell me?!" He turned back just long enough to say, "I can't." Then he was once again gone. I glared after him. Sam put her hand on my shoulder. "Are you ok?" she asked. I shook her off. "I want to be alone." I took my knife and sword and headed off in the opposite direction Nick was going. There was a clearing, and in that clearing was the last person I expected to see. "Artemis?" I asked. Then I akwardly bowed, and muttered, "Your highness." It sounded something like your highney. "Stand, child." She only looked about 12 maybe 13, so it was weird hearing those words come out of her mouth. I stood. "Where are your huntresses?" I asked. "I told them I was going on a mission alone. I want to give you an offer." I almost stepped back. An offer from a goddess? Even from Artemis, it was odd, and scary. "Yes?" She held out a silver bow and arrows. "Sorry, but that's not my ideal weapon." She didn't move. "Take this bow and arrows. They will always get you victory in battle. But in exchange after you die a second time, you will become my patron handmaiden." "What?" I could not believe what I was hearing. "You must become a god or goddesses patron after you die a second time. So, take this weapon in exchange for your promise to be my handmaiden." I glanced at the weapon. Two question were wracking around in my brain. What about Hades? What about Nick? Eventually I nodded. "Okay. I'll do it." I took the bow and arrows and then she was gone. Talk about complications. "That's ok. All I have to do is, not die. Wow really simple," I muttered. "And now I'm talking to myself. Great."

Sorry if this post is confusing.

Sam-

Tray came back after we’d eaten breakfast.

“What’s wrong?” Katherine stared into Tray’s grey eyes as if she could see everything inside her head. (Maybe she could; you never know.)

“Nothing… I’m just really shocked because of the whole Nick-thing.”

Katherine, Jen and I raised our eyebrows simultaneously. “Yeah right.”

“Shall I tell them?”

Tray’s eyes were opened so wide that it seemed as if they might pop out of her head. “Tell them what?”

“What she told you…” Katherine said as if it were obvious.

“Did you follow me?”

“No.”

“Then why-“

“I don’t know.”

Jen and I exchanged a “what-are-they-talking-about”-look.

“It’s your choice if you want to tell us or not. You don’t have to,” I told Tray, even though I was dying to know.

“No, it’s not. Whenever she hides something from us, it doesn’t go well.” Jen crossed her arms over her sky blue T-shirt.

“If I die, I’ll become Artemis’s patron handmaiden.”

“I thought it was Hestia…” I remembered when Artemis had asked me, back before I’d met Jen and Tray. I’d been ten and on a quest with a boy. I liked him, if you know what I mean, and one day she just appeared and offered for me to join her. And what did I do? I said no because of him. And then, he died and my world came tumbling down. Sometimes I wished I’d consented. Then I wouldn’t have to experience all this.

“Yeah, well it’s Artemis now.” Tray sank onto a log. “I think we have to kill Nick.”

“What?” Jen cried taken a back. He was still her brother.

“We need to hunt him down and kill him. He took Uranus from you, Jen. That’s why you’re ‘good’ again. Now that monster’s in him and we have to save him before I’m killed and made Artemis’s patron hand-maiden.”

Tray-

"Ok so how do we save Nick?" Jen asked, obviously still feeling a little sisterly love for her big brother. "Same way we saved you. Um, how exactly did we save you?" I asked. The details were a bit fuzzy. I remembered how Jen had started to fight Uranus, and it was the guilt of killing Nell that brought her back. I got a really dumb, but foolproof idea that hit me immediately. "I've got it!" I shouted, grinning slightly. Even if this plan could mean certain death for me. "What?" Jen asked. Kathrine gasped. "No, you can't!" she shouted. I rolled my eyes. "Gimme a break, I know what I'm doing! Sorta. Anyway so we saved Jen when I yelled at her that it was her fault Nell was dead!" Jen looked murderous. Sam looked like she'd just been slapped. "Yes?" Jen muttered through gritted teeth. "My point is, the real Jen realized what she'd done, and she came back because of the guilt." "So we have to make Nick feel guilty?" Sam asked. I nodded. "How? If you haven't noticed he's not exactly Mr. Humanity," Jen snapped. "Easy, to make him feel guilty enough to fight off Uranus, he has to kill me. And then you three have to rub it in," I said smiling. "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!" Sam shouted. "I CAN'T LOSE YOU TOO!" she shouted. I didn't flinch. "I know Sam, but listen, either that or we fake my death. Problem is, it's not easy to fake being killed by Uranus."

Sorry it's not much I'm kinda busy today.

I was in indescribable shock. I had lost Nell forever, and now I would lose Tray to a goddess, which is as good as dying.

“You can’t!” I yelled, my voice choked. “Don’t you dare.”

“I’ll just become Artemis’s handmaiden. That can’t be that bad.” Tray didn’t sound very sure of herself. “And you know as well as I that we can’t fake my death. I think he would know and we don’t have a son of Hephaestus here to help us make some sort of dummy of me.”

“Or maybe you do.” All four of us whipped around to find a boy standing about five feet away from us.

“Who are you?” Jen growled, pulling out her sword.

“A son of Hephaestus, like you just said you needed.” He did look an awful lot like one. He had muscly arms and legs, a wide chest, large hands and his skin was dark tan from working in a forge all day. But why had he come right when we wanted him?

“This is a trick.” Tray whispered.

“It’s not,” said Katherine loudly. “You followed us, no?”

The boy nodded. “I’m Dominic. Fifteen. Son of Hephaestus.”

“He’s not from camp.” I murmured.

“Nope.” Jen whispered back, then turning on Dominic she asked: “Have you been following us?”

He turned red. “I haven’t seen demi-gods in a long time… I was happy to find you and decided to… Well, you know, follow you guys.”

“Have you ever heard of camp half-blood?” I asked.

He shook his head. “No.”

“But you know who your father is?” Tray began to lower her knife.

He nodded. “Doesn’t everyone?”

“Who told you? I mean, who told you that you were the son of Hephaestus?” Jen wondered.

“The god himself.”

“And you’ve been wandering around since then?”

“Yep, I’ve got no where else to go except if you showed me where this camp. What was it called again?”

“Camp Half-Blood,” Tray offered.

“Yeah, that place.”

“We’ll show you if you help us,” Katherine spoke up. “We need you to build a replica-“

“An almost human replica of me,” Tray finished.

“I need tools… And metal… But I’m not sure how hard it would be. It could be quite easy.” He scrutinized Tray from head to toe. “What exactly is this for?”

“Long story,” I informed him.

He smiled at me. “I’m a good listener.”

So I told the story from beginning to end.
