Sam-

I couldn’t help smiling to myself as Tray and Blake talked quietly together. I had always known that she still liked him but Tray wouldn’t admit it. Now she couldn’t take it back anymore.

Katherine and I retreated to our beds early so that the two lovebirds could be alone.

*

Shadows clung to the wall of the room in which I was. Near what appeared to be a door two figures stood.

“How could you let them go? If it wasn’t for you we’d have her!” Nick raged. In the darkness his eyes sparkled like beads of poison.

“The boy! You didn’t tell me ‘bout the boy!” Hyperborean yelled, seeming as if he might tear off Nick’s limbs one by one.

Nick was silent for a moment, not wanting to confess his mistake. “Did you smell the girl?”

“The girl? I know Thanantos’s smell well enough!”

“Not Thanantos, you blundering fool! The small one!”

“Ah… Not good to eat. Bony and tasteless.”

“Idiot! I do not want to eat her. I mentioned her scent!”

“Scent, yes, scent… Godly, but half-bloods smell like that. Even you…”

“I DO NOT SMELL LIKE ONE OF THOSE WEAK TRAITORS. I AM MORE POWERFUL THAN ALL THE GODS.”

“Y-yes, M-Master.” Though he was huge, Hyperborean feared Nick.

“I have a new job for you. You find the girl.”

“Thanantos?”

The small one,” said Nick through clenched teeth. “Then you bring her to me. Alive.

“And Thanantos?”

“Jack will take care of her. But try to discover more about this… girl. Perhaps through Tray.” Nick cackled. “Now, off with you!”

The dream changed and I saw Katherine’s face floating in front of me. Her mouth opened and a coil of green smoke poured out of her mouth like that of the mummy’s in the attic.

The smoke formed into people, which I recognized as Blake, Katherine, Tray and I.

Suddenly monsters fell from the sky. We drew our weapons and began to fight. Yet every blow weakened us and made the monsters stronger as if all our strength was being sucked out of our bodies. Then all four of us fell to the ground, dead.

“Sam, they’ll die if you don’t save them. It is not your time to join me.” Nell’s voice was the last of the nightmare before I shot up from my sleeping bag, pearls of sweat and tears mixing together.

I ran out of the tent and gulped breaths of fresh air as I remembered what Nell had said – her voice had been so close. I shook even more and dropped to the ground.

Tray-

As soon as I Sam drop to the ground shaking I knew something was wrong. "Sam!" I rushed over to her. "What happened?" I asked. She explained her dream between sobs. I stared in horror when she was finished. "What's goin' on?" Blake asked. Sam shakily explained her dream to him. He was totally silent. "So he wants Kathrine, and he thinks he can get to her, through you?" Blake asked me. Then it hit me. I remembered my dream where Hiporborean said he could see out my eyes. "Blake, he can," I muttered. He and Sam both turned to me. "How?" Sam asked. I knew that if Jenifer was here she would have already thrown me into a tree or something like that. "I had a dream once, Hiporborean said he could see through me and he could hear through me. He's using me to know where we are and what we're doing." It all started making sense. They knew we were on the train that way, they knew where we were in the woods that way. "I have to leave." "Oh Tray not again!" Sam shouted. I picked up my backpack and turned back to her. "I'm putting all of you at risk by staying. He's always going to know where we are if I stay!" "Come on Tray, we just have to figure out how to get him out of you!" Blake said desperately. "Sorry, but no." Shadow appeared at my side. He was the first hell hound I'd met. I climbed on his back and then we were gone. The sign in front of me said Welcome to New Orleans, Louisiana. Have a nice time! I groaned. "Great, if I see Mr. D I'm gonna scream." "You should think about what you say before ya say it kid." I groaned again. Mr. D was standing behind me. "What do you want now?" I asked, extremly annoyed. "You mean, besidse you not being an idiot?" I rolled my eyes. "Oh for the love of the gods what else!" He handed me a blue rock. It was in a perfect circle. "What's this?" "You'll figure it out." Then he was gone. "Great, now what?" I asked no one in particular. Shadow looked at me sleepily. I sat next to him. "Don't know, huh? Great."

//Jenifer//

I kicked a stone and it cluttered down the hill in front of me. An eagle that was flying ahead swooped down and landed on a nearby tree branch. Anything else you need, my Lady? "No no, I'm fine, thanks." It nodded and flew off towards the mountains. "All alone. Just like I started out." Shouldering my pack I started off down the hill. I wasn't walking for too long until I stepped on a thin, black branch. It yelped and squirmed out from under my foot. "What the...?!" I heard a growl to my right, then it started easing. "Who's there!" A voice called, and I took out my sword, glowing bronze in the fading sunlight. "Show your self!" Leaves crackled to my right and out came...Blake? I thought he was dead. Huh. "Calm down, Princess, you'll get yourself killed." I dropped my shoulders and lowered my blade. "Gods, Blake, you scared me half to death. What was that thing I stepped on?" "Probably a snake or something." "Great..." I muttered. "Where's Sam and Ne-Tray," I corrected myself. Gods, why do I keep thinking about Nell?! It's eating me away, honestly. "Tray ran off and Sam's at the camp." "Typical of her. Why'd she go this time." We started walking towards what was supposedly their campsite. "Long story. Anyways, what're you doing here? From what I heard, you ran off with Nick." "I did not run off with Nick! Who told you that, Tray? Humph. I went to Olympus, asking Father if he could blast Nick away. Coincidentally, Nick was there asking if Father could blow me out of the sky. So, we had an awkward family dinner-" "Family dinner? Really?" "Yes, yes, all the gods came. Well, most of them. Anyway, Nick asked me to join his cause, and Uranus, I'm sure you heard the whole bit about Uranus-" What do you want?! I was sleeping, stop saying my name if you're not talking to me, silly girl!" "Shut it! Not you, him. So, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named agreed to follor Nick, but once I regained sense I just took an eagle down here and came up with you." She finished her story and breathed in deeply. "So, what's been going on with you?" "Well..."

Tray had left and something was nagging at the back of my mind as if I had forgotten something and couldn’t place my finger on it. She was out alone with an angry giant and Nick on her heals. She was strong, she would come back eventually and now I had more important things to tend to – like the girl who just walked through the bushes.

“Blake! What are you- you tricked us all along! You led her to us!” I yelled, taking out my knife.

“No, no, no. This isn’t how it looks. Jen came to us.”

“There is no herd of monsters about to drop from the sky?”

“What?” Jen took a step towards me. “Is everything okay?”

I inhaled shakily. “Yeah… Everything’s fine… Where were you?” I asked, changing the subject.

“I thought you already knew. I was at my Dad’s.”

“With Nick?”

Jen avoided my gaze and looked down at her blue converse. “I came back, though.”

“Oh great… You came back. Let’s party.” I turned around and started to walk away when Katherine emerged from the tent.

“Hello Jen. I knew you were coming.”

Jen and I exchanged looks.

“You knew I was coming?”

Katherine nodded. “And you know how to heal yourself.”

“Well, I wouldn’t say…”

“You haven’t grasped it yet, but you will in time. Defeat the beast and come back with a friend, “ she then scratched her head and inquired if I had any breakfast. I told her yes and she went to the campfire.

“What was that all about?” Blake wondered.

“I can’t tell you now.” I whispered, still not trusting Jen.

“I know already. I dreamed about it but her secret is safe. I haven’t said a word to Nick.”

I smiled. “Do you have any idea what she’s talking about?”

Before she answered, I heard a voice behind me. “She doesn’t, but do.”

Sam, you're not stupid. I don't get it either. Could you explain, EM?

(February 5, 2012 - 4:43 pm)

Sorry, I've been so unclear in my posts lately. :/ I guess I've been busy. :) And Sam YOU ARE NOT STUPID, YOU'RE AWESOME!

Anyway, so Jen turned up and met Blake, right? So I thought she'd come back to camp because she's "normal" at the moment and not in her evil phase. Then they're talking and Katherine comes out and because she's Apollo's daughter she can prophecise she has seen part of Jen's future. That means how to heal the green stuff behind her ear. (Katherine nodded. “And you know how to heal yourself.”

Defeat the beast and come back with the friend: This is part of the prophecy and the last unsolved part. The beast has to do with Uranus (or Nick). That is what Katherine means with that line.

"What was that all about?" Blake wondered.“I can’t tell you now,” I whispered, still not trusting Jen. : I think Blake doesn't know Katherine's backround yet so I assumed Blake might have been confused.

“I know already. I dreamed about it but her secret is safe. I haven’t said a word to Nick.” : Jen says this. She's saying that she knows Katherine's secret already so we have nothing to hide from her.

"Do you have any idea what she's talking about?" Before she answered, I heard a voice behind me. “She doesn’t, but do.”: Sam is wondering if Jen understood what Katherine was saying (meaning, does Jen know how to get rid of Uranus) and Jen is about to answer when someone appears behind me.

Sorry again. I hope it's clearer now. I was confused myself when I read it. If it's still unclear, I can rewrite it.

Tray-

I lay down next to shadow looking up at the night sky. I shut my eyes laughing silently. I was out in the open with everyone out to get me. I was sure someone was going to come get me but I was determined to enjoy at least one more night. Of course when did I ever get to enjoy something. My eyes were barely closed when a blindfold went on and a gag tied around my mouth. my hands were tied together as were my feet. "Mff!" I tried. Someone punched me in the gutt. "Shut up Thanantos." Should have known: Nick. "ahfi sodfh fowoe!" I tried to shout. Again annother punch. I groaned. "You know better than that." He picked me up and threw me in the back of a van. From there all I got were sounds. He wasn't talking. I couldn't tell wether or not there was annother person was in the car but I honestly doughted it. "fifei oifref siofeh ofi odefi!" A hand reached out and pulled the gag down, I sucked in oxygen and started to talk. "So going solo are you? Your evil minions get enough of you or did your sister just decide she was eviler than you?" I asked. "You should know that the only reason I'm alone is because I know somebody else would just mess things up if I asked for help." And Jenifer?" He pulled off the blindfold so I could see he face. It was normaly twisted in evil hatered, but now it looked kinda, I don't know, sad. I almost felt bad for him. Almost. "She decided she didn't like to be bad. Her mistake," he said simply keeping his eyes on the road. I saw through rearview mirror that he was sad. "So the big bad king of the world has feelings now huh?" "Shut up bone head." I rolled my eyes. "Whatever fried face." He smiled. "Just like old times huh?" "Yeah I really miss 'em. You kidnapping me, me making a few smart-alecky coments and getting cracked ribs in return. Ah, old times." I said sarcasticaly. He was still smiling, it was starting to creep me out. "What?" I asked. "Nothing, nothing, I still remember the present you gave me on my boat." That brings back memories. Double agent blowing up Nick's boat memories. "Wow with a brain as small as yours I'd have expected you to forget." "Haha, very funny. I don't forget anything." The way he said it made my skin crawl. I wanted desprately to change the subject. "So are you ganna let Jack kill me?" I asked. "Me, her, and Hiporborean are ganna flip a coin." "How can you flip a coin if there's three of you?" "You flip it twice, you really aren't the smart one are you?" He asked sarcastically. "Nope. That's Kathrine and Sam's jobs." "So tell me about your friend Kathrine." I almost slapped myself. "Not much to tell really. She's new and doesn't have any talent." I lied. "Right, you expect me to believe you." He started laughing. I spit out a few choice words at him. "Oooh! I'm sooo scared!" Nick rolled his eyes. "Shut up." I muttered. Just then we arived at our destination. The campsite great, why hadn't I guessed? He put the gag, and the blindfold back on. "I'm truly sorry about this, but hey, you need to play the role of hostage don't you? Now just sit tight and wait while I inform your so called friends about your little accident." So called friends? What in the Underwold was he talking about? He seemed to read my mind. "Don't worry I won't tell you about the traitor, yet." Then he winked and was gone.

Who's the traitor gonna be? Should it be Blake?

Sam-

Tray was dragged into our campsite by no other than Nick himself. A gag was tied around her mouth and she was grunting – or rather, trying to speak.

I took my knife out of my sleeve and pointed it at him. “If you get any closer, you’ll wish you’d never been born!” I yelled angrily.

Nick laughed mockingly. “Samantha, you know I’m more powerful than you…”

“You don’t have a weapon anymore.”

He sneered as if it was the dumbest thing he’d ever heard. “Blake, grab the girl.”

Blake walked out of the tent, snatched my arms and pressed them against my back.

“Now, tell your sweetheart what you really are.”

I couldn’t see Blake’s face, but I could feel his nails digging into my skin and his heart beating quickly.

“Tray, I-“

Tray’s eyes were black and filled with tears. I knew how she felt. Jason, then Blake, they had all seemed like her true love but they’d only used her for one of Nick’s evil plans.

“You see, Thanantos. No friend can be trusted.” Tears streamed down her cheeks as she stared at Blake, not even listening to Nick’s triumphant words.

Anger boiled up in my stomach like a scalding pot of water. I elbowed Blake in the stomach and hit him with a blast of water.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Katherine run up behind Nick and hit him on the head with a huge stick. Tray took this chance and wrestled him to the ground where they fought like wild animals.

Blake advanced on me his sword ready but I sent another burst of water into his face, which knocked him to the ground.

“Why did you do that to Tray?” I yelled between water explosions.

“Nick’s offer… He – I… What he wants to do… His ideas are amazing! I wanted to convince Tray to come with me.”

I jumped on him and began punching him in the face. I had raised my knife, ready to end his life forever when Tray screamed: “No!”

Elizabeth your writing was awesome!

Tray-

"No!" I shouted. Tears streamed down my face. Black eyes blazing as I walked over. "It's my job." Sam backed up. I took out my knife. "Please Tray, c'mon. Don't you remember? What it was like before your mom kicked you out?" My heart nearly stopped. What was he trying to do to me?! "Ya, so?" "Nick, he's got the best ideas, he, he's going to change things Tray. Please, come with me." He held out his hand. I walked closer, his eyes got bright. He thought I was joining him. I reached out my hand, then I stabbed him. Right in the heart. The light drained from his eyes, his face got sad. "I'm so sorry." That was the end of Blake. He was gone. Dead. And I'd killed him. Sam just stared. Kathrine had a knowing look on her face. Then I noticed. Nick was gone, again. "NICK!!!" I screamed. My voice echoed around the trees. Sam put a blanked over my shoulders as I started to cry. I sat there for a long time, crying. First Jason, then Blake, who's next? Why did I get the feeling I was going to find out soon enough? I shook off the blanket, stood up, and wiped my eyes. "He know's were here. Let's get moving." Was all I said. I had next to no energy, I was emotionaly messed right now, and Nick was on my tail. Metaforicaly he was also stepping on it. "Tray, are you sure? It's been a, a long day. And um..." That's when Jenifer stepped out of the shadows. I guess she'd been there the whole time silently watching the scene. I was going to kill her. I lept at her knife out eyes the darkest black, almost evil. I let out a growl that would have had a grizzly bear ducking for cover. I slashed down cutting her arm nearly in half. "TRAY STOP!" Sam came over and held my arms I kicked and wrestled her, trying to get away. She wouldn't let go. "Let me kill her! Let me kill her!" I spat the anger and hatred boiling in my voice. My eyes were menacing. I was spitting out every horrible word I knew at Sam, trying to get her to let me go. "LET ME KILL HER!" Finally Kathrine came up and hit me with the same stick she'd hit Nick with, knocking me unconcious.
When I woke up I was in a sleeping bag. I felt more sore than ever and places I didn't know could hurt hurt. My head was pounding and the vision in my right eye was instead of black just blurry which didn't help. What the heck was that stupid stick made of?! I sat up groaning. Sam walked in. "Ah, Sleeping Beauty's awake." "Hey, don't blame me. SHE hit me with the stick!" I said while pointing at Kathrine. Sam laughed. I suddenly remembered something. "Jenifer..." I shot up besidse the pain and tried to launch myself between Sam and Kathrine shouting: "LET ME KILL HER! LET ME KILL HER!" "TRAY! Dont' make Kathrine hit you on the head with a stick again!" Sam shouted. I wouldn't stop. It was a weird feeling. One I'd never felt before. I wanted to kill Jenifer. Nothing unusual, but it was how hard I was trying that was odd. "TRAY!" Sam shouted again. I backed up, and sat down. I put my head between my knees. All the while muttering: "Let me kill her. Let me kill her. Let me kill her." I knew it was sadly obvious that I was slowly losing my mind.

Avilla-

The first rays of morning light stream through the window of Jane’s little shack. I feel something soft under me and find myself on a moth eaten couch. Looking around, I  discover Jane sitting on a stool, staring intently at me. Not a bit of tiredness shows in her face.

“You talk in your sleep.” She states, a wavy black hair strand falling in her face.

“How do you know?” I sit up and run my fingers through my hair, “brushing” them like I do every morning.

“I was listening.”

“You weren’t sleeping?”

“Nah... I’m part vampire, remember?” She laughs, then her pale nose twitches as if it smells something. “Your scent… It is  interesting, like they said.”

“If it bothers you so much, why don’t you just let me shower?”

“You have to go to the creek. But before you go… You kept saying something about Jefferson. Where do you know him from?”

“Jefferson? I’ve never heard of him… I – I don’t know much about myself.”

“What do you mean you don’t-“

“I have to clean myself off.” I don’t want to answer the question and leave the shack.

*

I step out of the cold water, feeling bare without all of the dirt on me. I put on some clothes that Jane gave me yesterday. (We are almost the same size.) Then I towel off my hair.

Suddenly a twig snaps in the bushes and a girl with fiery red hair appears.

“What – who – why are you here?” I stammer, clutching my towel as if it’s a life saver.

“I – I’m not going to hurt you but are you one of them?”

One of them?”

“Like Elizabeth.”

“No… No, I’m not. Who are you?”

“Kuitisha. I thought you had black hair.”

“No, that’s Jane. I’m staying with her.” The girl’s eyebrows knit together as she studies me. Then she peeks around me. Her eyes get wide and she disappears.

Sorry, it's short. :/ Tray's going crazy. How cool! :D

Sam-

Tray rocked back and forth, pulling her knees to her chest and putting her head between them.

 “I’ll kill her,” she continued muttering as if in a trance.

“Tray!” I grabbed her arms tightly and squeezed them. “Look at me.”

She raised her grey eyes slowly towards me. “She doesn’t deserve to live.”

“Calm down. Okay? I’m here.” I hugged her tightly. Then she started to talk into my sleeve. “Tray?”

“I – I know how to save Jen.”

“You what?” I asked, letting her go.

She wiped her eyes and stood up, shakily taking a breath. “We have to kill her.”

“Tray, you’re overacting. Killing her won’t help.”

“You think I’m crazy don’t you!” Tray took a step back, looking hurt.

“No- I-“

“Tray’s right,” said Katherine. “Defeat the beast and come back with a friend.”

This was the first time that I fully understood what Katherine was thinking. The beast was inside Jen, but to get to the beast we would have to get through her first. When the beast was gone, Jen would be normal again – or rather, our friend.

Yupssies! Totaly completely LOCO! ;)

Tray-

I sat there huddled in a corner for a while longer. Nothing anybody could say would get me to move. Sam brought food and water but I wouldn't touch it. I heard them talking about saving from the beast inside her. Then they would start talking about my mental health or whatever and I'd start to zone out. I remembered how crazy Jen had gotten but it didn't help. It only made things worse. Eventually daylight streamed through the tent opening. "Tray, we're leaving. OK? Are you going to help?" I got up and helped pack everything up. I kept away from Jenifer and wouldn't look at Sam or Kathrine. At one point the silence became so unbarable I just decided to take a walk in the woods. They tried to get me to stop of course but I wouldn't have it. I just walked off into the woods and sat on the dirt in front of a street throwing fallen acorns at people passing by. Someone called me a freak and I threw a rock at him. That's when Sam and Kathrine came to get me. They also kept me from pulverizing the little creep.  Sam grabbed my arm "Tray! You don't throw rocks at innocent people!" She said angrily when we got back to the campsite. I shoved my arm away and snapped back at her, "They're not innocent! They probubly want to kill me too!" Then I stormed off in the direction she said Kathrine thought was best. I began to wonder why I was even listnening to her. I thought I should be the leader but of course that was only the complete phycopathic part of me getting to the logical part. After a couple hours of uneventful walking we stopped and set up camp. I went into my tent and got in the same exact position as before. knees pushed up to me chest, head inbetween them. There was a loud boom and I shot up, old habbits die hard. I knew I was in danger imediately. I ran outside knife ready when I saw her. Jack. A wicked black blade in her hands, her evil smile physcopathic. "Tray! You are coming with me if I have to kill Kronos to get to you!" She shouted. I slapped myself. "Nope, not dreaming. I wonder if I'm losing my mind?" I grinned when I saw how my calmness was getting to her. "COME WITH ME!" She shouted. "Over my dead body!" I shouted back. She grinned wickedly. She looked like one of those crazy people in the horror movies that make Hades hide. "That's the idea." I stepped back tripping over a rock. Great, real smooth Tray. Sam Kathrine and Jenifer started to fight her when three listrogonians showed up. Man I hate those things. Jack made her way over to me. I pulled out my knife. She just laughed, snapped, and then I was seeing stars.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I woke up I strapped to a table and I had the strong feeling I was being watched. A door opened and three people walked in. One was a cyclopse. One was Blake. The third (who they seamed to be protecting) was Nick. "Oh for the gods sakes! What is it now?!" I shouted totally annoyed with all this. "What else?" Hiporborean was there in an instant. My knife in his hands. He raised the knife above me. "Remember when I said we were going to flip a coin?" Nick asked. "Well Hiporborean won." The knife came down. On my arm. I screamed in pain. Hiporborean twisted the knife and I screamed even louder. "STOP!" Blake shouted desprately. "This wasn't the deal!" He looked worried. "Shut, up, you, loser." I managed. Nick snickered. "You really want to save her miserable life?" He asked. Blake hesitated. Wow some friend. "She doesn't care about you. She cares for no one but herself. She's just been messing with you this whole time." Wow how backwards is that? "You think any of that was real? You think she really cared for you? Go ask Jason the other son of Apollo for advice. She's just messing with your head." Once again, serious backwardsness. Blake still looked doubtfull but he didn't agrue anymore. "I guess you're right. Go ahead." Nick nodded to Hiporborean. Nick brushed hair out of my eyes. "He also got the suffering rights. He get's to watch you suffer as long as he likes before he actually kills you." I looked at him with scared eyes. Silently praying he had some humanity left in him. No such luck. Hiproborean brought the knife down on my leg and my screams could be heard for miles.
Sam-
My eyes fluttered open, and I found myself sprawled on the ground with my mouth full of dirt. I reached up to touch my head, which was almost unbearably painful. As I removed my fingers from the wound, I felt the sticky hotness of blood.
“Hello?” I croaked, sitting up and peering around the room. Next to me, Jen was leaning up against the wall, breathing heavily.
“What happened?” I asked.
“We were overrun.” That was when a terrifying scream rang through the whole chamber. I recognized it.
“Is that...?”
“She’s been screaming for hours,” said Jen, clenching her teeth.
“And where’s Katherine?”
“They took her, too.”
“Where are we?”
“In some sort of dungeon…”
“Can we get out somehow?”
“I’ve tried everything. There’s only one more thing we can try. Three Dracaenas come with water – Nick’s keeping us alive for interrogation or bait – maybe we could attack them…”
*
I fingered my knife, turning it over in my hands. We had been sitting in position for an hour but nothing had happened. Perhaps Nick had decided that he actually didn’t want us alive.
“Do you hear that?” Jen exclaimed, turning her face towards the door. “Footsteps.”
She was right. A second later three snake-women entered the room.
“Where are they?” One hissed, squinting her eyes for she couldn’t see very well in the darkness.
Suddenly Jen jumped from the side stabbing her sword in one Dracaena’s side. I threw my dagger at the one with the water jug. She disintegrated immediately. Jen and I killed the last together.
“Well done.” I smiled.
Then we ran up the steps towards the scream.
