Fairytale RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Fairytale RP!

Fairytale RP!

So Tovah had once made something like this, and I miss it, so I'm going to recreate it. I was thinking that you could either do a twist on a classic fairytale hero or heroine, or make your own. They go to a private high school to learn to fight aliens.

I'm going to go with the same character I had before.

Name: Gretel Rose

Appearence; Chin-length golden hair that curves in on one side and
curves out on the other. Dark, sapphire-blue eyes, slightly pink cheeks,
pale, small, at 5 ft. Commonly wears long sleeve camo shirt with denim
capris and lace up hunting boots. Or jeans, black t-shirt with Slay Your Own Dragons and a sword
on fire, black hunting boots. Oftenwears a cap. Whether navy blue or
camo.

Personality; Strong, quiet, observant, hard core, ready to fight. Loyal, open, and cheerful around her friends.

Story; So, this is a Hansel and Gretel in the modern world. Southern
girl! Her parents ditched her in the backwoods of Tennessee, in the
Great Smokey Mountains. A hunter thought she and her brother game and
accidentally shot him. (Explains what happens to Hansel.)

Power; She has a strong sense of direction, can see in the dark. Also can channel people's feelings well. Knows what they're feeling.

Weapon: Anything she can throw or shoot, except long spears. She can
throw knives, shoot a gun or bow. Whatever she can get her hands on.

So what do ya'll think? Good or bad idea?

Meg and the mice~

I was confused. Ash's invisible sister? But there was no time for thought or questions as we rushed down the hall to principal Edith's office.

The others were waiting by the office door.

"Rose, we're supposed to be scouting, right?" Cindy asked, gesturing to Ash and Alice.

"Right," she replied. "Snow, Elle, and yours truly will search the other classrooms and offices. Meg, Jasmine and Gretel, you're to search Edith's office. Ready?"

"Ready," the rest of us said simultaneously. Gretel quietly shut off a laser in the office doorway, and we walked into the room.

"Alright girls," Gretel began, "leave no drawer unopened, no file unchecked. Look everywhere." Jasmine started looking in the desk, Gretel the file cabinet, and I looked for a slip of paper in one of the books on the bookshelf. We had been looking for ten minutes, more or less, when Jasmine gasped loudly.

As always, you can change it if you don't like it.

I was going to write last night but I didn't and now I've finished my ninja battle homework so I can write. Which is good because Ash really wants to talk about what's going on.

Ash~

Scouting huh? My mind was elsewhere, but I followed Cindy and Alice down the hallway.

"What am I suppose to do?" Amy asked.

"You could come with us," Cindy suggested.

"Okay!" Amy bobbed up and down after our group, happy to be of some use.

I was so very confused about Amy. A sister? I had a sister? I was very aware that I had two older brother and a father who died in the more recent fire, and a mother who died in the fire so very long ago, when the dragon attacked our home...

A sister?

"Okay, guys," Cindy said, taking charge. "We're scouting to make sure no teachers find the rest of us while they're looking for files. We should split up to cover the area. I'll go that way, Alice can go that way, Ash that way, and..."

"Amy," Amy said quickly.

"Alright, Amy can go that way."

We split off in our separate directions. Going opposite of Cindy, I saw her remove something from her back pocket. I shrugged it off. I had to make sure no teachers came, and alert the others if they did. No time for little things that Cindy might be sticking in her pockets.

Things you can stick in your pockets. Meg and the mice. El Gato. They had thought I might be like El Gato. How could they believe that? That was ridculous...

The mice. The monkey. I had left Jerusalem in my dorm.

Darn.

I looked around wildly. I had to get to my dorm, get the monkey, and get back here.

"I don't see any teachers. What's wrong?"

"Ah!" I looked around to see Amy appear out of thin air beside me.

"What are you doing here?! You're suppose to be making sure no teachers come your way..."

"My way isn't anywhere near the places they're looking for files. And I saw you looking confused, so I decided I'd asked you what was wrong. Is that not okay?"

I shook my head. None of this way okay. I didn't understand how I could have a sister, what she was doing here, why no one ever mentioned her to me before...

"It's okay," I said instead. "Actually, I could use your help. You see, I need to go get a monkey. I'll be back in a flash, but I can't guard the hallway and get a monkey at the same time."

Amy raised an eyebrow. "Okay," she said. "but why would you need a monkey--"

"I can't explain. Just guard the hallway, okay?"

"Okay."

"Thanks," I said and turned into a cat, bounding down the hallway full speed.

***

Panting, I opened the door to my dorm.

"I thought you said you were going to bring Jerusalem," Aladin said.

"What are you doing here!" I asked. "I was just coming to get him--I got caught up in things right before the mission. It's not over yet, there's still time for him to help."

"Well it's too late now. You can't get back all the way to the office with a monkey in just a few minutes."

"Just a few minutes? What do you mean?"

"Oh, nothing," he said offhandedly. "Anyways, Jerusalem doesn't want to come anymore."

Jerusalem, sitting ontop of Aladin's head, chittered in disagreement and jumped on my own head.

Aladin sighed. "Okay. He still wants to go. But it's hopeless. I've tried sneaking around before and just a few minutes from now, the dogs go on partrol to make sure the kids are all in their beds, sleeping. If you can get to the office and warn the others before they come out, you're right. You can get back to the office in a couple of minutes. But you probably can't."

My eyes narrowed. "I bet I can. Come on, Jerusalem." I turned into a cat and meowed: "Get on."

The monkey grinned and clinged onto my back and off I went, dashing through the hallways, hoping I could make it in time.

That's a little long, but we just left Jerusalem and Aladin wasn't happy about it. So we went back.

Meg and the mice~

"What is it, Jazz?", Gretel asked, rushing to Jasmine's side. The mice and I rushed over as well.

"This-paper-says," stuttered Jasmine, "that-Alex-has-a-Fairytale-identity-too."

"What? Which Fairytale?" Charlie shrieked.

"Something-called-The-Tinderbox." The Tinderbox? Hadn't I read that somewhere? "It's-a-story-about-a-tinderbox-that-enables-it's-owner-to-control-huge-dogs," Jazz continued.

"I've read that story!" I yelled. "Which character is Alex?"

"She-isn't-a-character-she-owns-the-box."

"So, she can control the dogs?" asked Gretel.

"Yes."

"Then why do you sound so upset? That's not such a big deal."

"It's-not-her-identity-that-has-me-upset. It's-her-past."

Sorry, but my home computer is down. I'm writing this during a brief chance on the internet. When my computer's fixed, I'll write!

Okay, so I've got a few minutes here on a computer (though still not my home, so I can't be on regularly), but here we go!

Gretel ~

I looked up at Jasmine.

"Doesn't the fact that she didn't tell us bother you at all?" Jasmine asked, looking at us all. "She's kept everything hidden from us, even the story she's from."

I shifted uneasily. "Yeah. To be honest, I always got an... off feeling about her."

The others nodded, wrapped up in their own thoughts. I glanced up at the clock.

"Come on," I said, moving back toward the filing cabinet. "We're wasting time."

Jasmine slipped the paper back where she found it, and continued rifling.

For the next several minutes, there was virtually no sound, other than our labored breathing and the sounds of shifting paper. I glanced over at Meg, startled to see her standing stock still.

"Here," she said, her voice hollow. A cabinet door stood open in front of her, a key stuck in it's key slot.

Jasmine and I slipped over. In her hand was a folder with her full name on it. I glanced in the cabinet, and saw numerous more. I figured one for each of us. Suddenly the office door flew open. A cat with a monkey on it's back rushed inside. The cat quickly transformed into Ash.

"Quick," he panted, "those dogs are checking dorm rooms. If they see we aren't in bed, were done for."

"Grab the files!" I cried.

"But Principal Edith will notice they're gone!" Jasmine cried. "She'll know we took them!"

"Let's hope we she doesn't look for them tomorrow," I said, grabbing several folders. "We'll look for a chance to return them without her noticing. Where'd you find the key, Meg?"

"Under here," Meg said, lifting up the corner of mouse pad to reveal an indent in the desk just the right size for a key. We quickly replaced it, glancing around the room to make sure it wasn't noticeable that we'd been there.

"What's the monkey doing here?" I demanded, coming around the corner of the desk and noticing Jerusalem for the first time.

"He's here to help," Ash said, taking some files from Meg's crowded arms.

"Fine, come on."

---

"What's all that?" Rose asked.

"Information on us," Jasmine replied hurridly.

"We've got to go. NOW," Ash said, breaking into a run.

I hope you all don't mind if I write again. I was carrying this story around in my head all day yesterday so I felt the urge to type it.

Meg and the mice~

When we got back to the dorm, all was dark.

"I-I thought I left a light on," Gretel said. My hand instinctively went to my dagger pocket. When I pulled it out, Gretel shot me an 'oh my gosh, you have a weapon!' look.

"Pip, are you awake?" I called softly. For a few seconds that seemed like hours, there was no answer, only cold, unsympathetic silence. But then a frightened female voice said:

"Pip fell asleep two minutes ago." Fear, along with a queer curiosity, surged through me.

"And who are you?" Gretel asked in a tone much stronger than mine.

"Thumbelina," the voice said, "but you can just call me Lina." We walked uneasily to the door.
