Chatterbox: Inkwell

Katy sighed and

Katy sighed and picked up a dusty old book with elborate designs, making it stand out in the musky old attic. She sttempted to blow off the dust, but to no avail, and ended up having to wipe it off with her long sleeve. "So much for that trick," she muttered, slowly opening the book, which crackled expectantly.

She screamed and dropped the book, a resounding thud echoing throughout the attic. A mouse had scurried across her bare toes, startling her. The book lay open on the ground to a random page and she stooped down. The letters were carefully written, every word perfectly spaced and red. "Red?" she asked to herself. There was no way that there was red ink back when this book was written. She shuddered and used the dusty end of her sleeve to gently close the suddenly creepy book.

"Tommorow," she whispered, gently lifting up the book and setting it on a rotten rocking chair. She turned the light off and slowly descended the ladder, her thoughts running away from her.

Later in her room Katy grabbed her phone and quickly texted her friends, even though they were probably asleep.

Katy> I found something cool in the attic! Cant wait for u guys to c it! Cya tommorow!

Then, gently setting the phone down on her nightstand, she hopped in bed, pulling up the covers to her chin. "Tommorow." She didn't know what was so exciting about her discovery, but she couldn't wait to find out more about that book.

Okay! I know there are a lot of these...but at least it's not a Rp!!

Right?

Anyway, anyone can join! I will start on the 21st and if you join after that date you will most likely not play a major part. No promises even if you join before then, though. I'll try my best.

But anyway, I'd like you to give me a name I can use for you, it can be your Cber name if you really want, and to describe your personality a little. Also, describe how your Cber would look in either medival OR modern era.I might edit your personality a bit to fit the story. If it bothers you, please consult me!)

I'll try to post about once a day!

Thank yoooouuu!!

(P.S. I will try my best to make the story as entertaining and as grammaticaly correct as possible!)

The girls exchanged glances and slowed to a stop before the gaping river in front of them. It was as wide as it was fast, which was very fast, and down stream a waterfall leaped down a large cliff.

"How on earth are we supposed to make it across?" Danie screeched in fury. "If you don't have any ideas then we're orge toast!!"

Brig frowned and inwardly sighed, slightly annoyed by Danie's attitude by this time. She pointed to a large, fallen tree. "Brookiera, you have rope right?" Brookiera nodded and as Brig continued pulled out a large coil of it. "I willfly across the river and tie the rope to a tree while you haul that fallen tree to the bank. I'll tie the rope to the tree, you'll hold on to the tree, and it will take us across the river."

"Okay..." Shadow agreed, although skeptical. The plan might be a risky one, but it looked to be their only hope.

After quickly repeating the instructions Brig flew across the river with Brookiera's rope that Danie had cast a protection spell on. Working as quickly as she could she tied it to a sturdy looking tree and flew the other end back across the river, a sinking feeling rising in her chest. The threatening ogre's roars were beginning to become audible over the thundering of the river and the girls were stumbling all over themselves.

"Focus!" Abigial exclaimed as the girls fumbled over the knot. She was trying to act brave, but even Brookiera was nervous, which terrified Abigail. After a few more tries they were finally succesful. Brig grabbed another length of rope and tied it to the main rope before tieing it at the other end so the log wouldn't twist in the river.

"Wait...what about the horses?" Brookiera asked, casting a frightened glance at Cinder, who was prancing around uncomftorably.

"We need to ride them," Brig stated, "The river is too deep. Don't worry about controlling them, just focus on holding onto the log!"

"Shut up and let's go!" Danie impatiently ordered. The girls hastilly oblidged, mounting their frightened horses after tieing them to the log. Brig ushered them in from above, giving the log and extra push before shooting up as the log, and the girls, were swept away.

For a moment the log pushed them downstream, frightening the horses and girls alike, only to suddenly stop and start moving forward, slowly arching upwards.

"It's working!" Shadow squealed, trying desperatly to stay on her horse.

"Watch out!!" Brig screamed, pointing behind the girls. The girls turned to see a falling tree headed straight towards them. Brookiera, who was taking up the rear, tried to rush forward, but to no avail. The falling tree just barely hit the end of the log, causing the front of it to raise into the air slighty. Cinder neighed and reared, her eyes wide with terror. Brookiera struggled to stay on, but, in doing so, let go of the log.

Brig swooped down to where the Brookiera was struggling and grabbed her in an attempt to help, but it only worsened the matter. Brookiera and Brig dissapeared in a flash under the roaring water.

Sorry everybody. I've been depressed recently and its been hard to write. I'll be brainstorming today and hopefully I will write something tonight, but if anybody has any cool ideas I'd love to hear them. I might  incorporate them into the story.

I WILL finish this. I will not give up!

The girls finally arrived at the library, but not without and bruises. Katy wiped her sweaty forhead and pulled off her leather jacket, glowering at Serena. "You really need these?"

Serena shrugged and grinned sheepishly, leaning the bike she had rode against the side of the building.

"And we have to ride these home too," Phil remarked, provoking a loud groan that rippled through the group. It was a hot day, not a day to be learning to ride a large bike.

After the bikes were finally staying put, the large group headed into the library, a mystifying silence falling over them all. Cayke and Evie were fascinated, for their library did not have multiple shelves, but was one large room with books that covered the walls and torches.The group stood in front of the librarian, who was reading a book, and seemed to be really into to. Joan coughed into her elbow and the librarian looked up, her eyes widening in suprise. "We are looking for medival, time travelling, and magic," Joan stated.

The librarian raised and eyebrow and nodded, explaining to the group where each of those sections were.

"Okay..." Hermoine began, "Joan, Phil, and Serena come with me to the magic. Evie, Emily, and Kira will go to Medival. Then...." she paused, looking at the rest of the group. "The rest of you head off to time. Sombody, Daisy, and umm..." she paused. "Yeah..."

A giggle rippled through the crowd and the headed their seperate ways, each one trying to maintain a whisper.

OKay. I am watching a 45 minute episode, let's see how much I can write....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The girls met at the largest table after half an hour, having to pull in a few extra chairs to make room for them all. Just to the satisfaction of Joan, who didn't want to risk anyone over hearing. Hermoine organized the books into six stacks, two were magic, two time travel, and two medieval. Each of the three sections had two sections within, history and a sort of fact book.
Somebody finished counting the books and clicked her toungue, shaking her head. "One too manky books. We'll give the two smallest books to the quickest reader."
A short pause hovered over the group before Daisy broke the silence. "Who is the quickest reader anyway?"
For some unknown reason that could, perhaps, be descibed as magic, everyone's eyes slowly gravitated toward Emily. Her eyes widened as she looked around the table, a breif memory of one of her favorite books, Knights of the Round Table, flashed through her head. "Why...are you looking at me...." she asked, shrinking back in her chair.
Evie threw her hands in the air triumphantly. It seemed she was already enjoying a break from being a princess, and was using it to it's full potential. "Of course!" she exclaimed, causing a harsh glare from the the rest of the group. Evie grinned sheepishly and continued, "It would make sense that she's the fastest reader. She reads about five books a day! She has read practically every book in the royal library!"
Evie's last words reminded a majority of the girls that Evie was a princess. Slowly, Katy nodded. "Okay. Guess she gets...." Katy grabbed the smallest books, one from the Medival Facts section and one from the Time traveling history. "These."
The girls quickly agreed and dug into the books, reading hurridly, but trying to gain as much as they could from the books as possibly, occasionaly showing an interesting fact or something that might be able to help them.
