Chatterbox: Inkwell

Katy sighed and

Katy sighed and picked up a dusty old book with elborate designs, making it stand out in the musky old attic. She sttempted to blow off the dust, but to no avail, and ended up having to wipe it off with her long sleeve. "So much for that trick," she muttered, slowly opening the book, which crackled expectantly.

She screamed and dropped the book, a resounding thud echoing throughout the attic. A mouse had scurried across her bare toes, startling her. The book lay open on the ground to a random page and she stooped down. The letters were carefully written, every word perfectly spaced and red. "Red?" she asked to herself. There was no way that there was red ink back when this book was written. She shuddered and used the dusty end of her sleeve to gently close the suddenly creepy book.

"Tommorow," she whispered, gently lifting up the book and setting it on a rotten rocking chair. She turned the light off and slowly descended the ladder, her thoughts running away from her.

Later in her room Katy grabbed her phone and quickly texted her friends, even though they were probably asleep.

Katy> I found something cool in the attic! Cant wait for u guys to c it! Cya tommorow!

Then, gently setting the phone down on her nightstand, she hopped in bed, pulling up the covers to her chin. "Tommorow." She didn't know what was so exciting about her discovery, but she couldn't wait to find out more about that book.

Okay! I know there are a lot of these...but at least it's not a Rp!!

Right?

Anyway, anyone can join! I will start on the 21st and if you join after that date you will most likely not play a major part. No promises even if you join before then, though. I'll try my best.

But anyway, I'd like you to give me a name I can use for you, it can be your Cber name if you really want, and to describe your personality a little. Also, describe how your Cber would look in either medival OR modern era.I might edit your personality a bit to fit the story. If it bothers you, please consult me!)

I'll try to post about once a day!

Thank yoooouuu!!

(P.S. I will try my best to make the story as entertaining and as grammaticaly correct as possible!)

Chapter 19~

The girls exited the library, a solmemn quite feeling impeeding down on the group as if were a matter of life and death. There was to be no fooling around. Phil looked hesitantly at the bikes and reajusted the large book under her arm. "Guess we have to ride back, huh?"

Serena sighed, shaking her head in defeat: it was no use convincing the girls to enjoy the bikes.

With several mumbled complaints the girls loaded onto the bicycles, Phil setting the book in a basket with the other books.

"Goodness! Who on earth invented these...things?!?" Keli exclaimed, waving her hands around pointlessly.

"Wilbu-" Hermoine started, only to be cut off by an angry glare from Keli, obviously not in the mood.

"That doesn't matter," Joan said, "Katy, back to your house, right?"

Katy began to nod, but paused and stared at Daisy, who was shaking her head.

"We have places to be, Joan. Families, lives," Dasiy pointed out.

"Dinner, sleep," Somebody dreamliy said, a faint smile upon her face.

"Oh yeah," Joan sighed, "Home."

Katy agreed to take the books because her parents wouldn't be home for a week. It would be easy to research without being kicked off the computer.

Chapter 20~ (pt.1!)

Danie, Shadow and Abigail almost missed the lonely village placed in the middle of nowhere. It was a small, pathetic place, surrounded by multiple trees whose branches intertwined, creating a simple wall to protect and his the village. The torches within the village caused the wall to glow eerily. The houses and the village itself could not be seen, but after closer inspection, the shape of houses could be made out through the wall.

After several minutes of looking for a path through the trees, for Shadow was convined there was one, Abigail spotted it. It appeared to be just an impression in the wall, but upon further inspection they realized it was, undoubtedly, a pathway. It was curved just right that you could only tell from a certain angle.

Leading the way, Danie spoke. "This was either made by an expert botanist, or a sorcerer," she said, referring to the wall.

It took even more time to find someone to take them in. She was a large, broad widow with a masculine build and a mysterious glint in her soft, brown eyes. With a large nose and wide, cherry-red lips, along with everything else about her, she looked to possibly be part of a lesser species of ogre.  She invited them in with a warm, wide smile, "I do have extra stew," she laughed, hastening them in after the horses were taken care of.

With their bellies full, Danie, Shadow, and Abigail fell asleep on the floor in front of the hearth. The fire danced until it dies, it's embers slowly withering away and darkness filling the small room, the shadows spreading.

Outside, an owl hooted, its call oddly high-pitched.  Strange things crept in the darkness, rustling a leaf here and there. Creatures stared at the village, pacing back and forth, going insane with the smell of flesh, so close, but impossible to reach. Not because of the ring of trees, that was pathetic, but because of the enchantment cast upon the trees.

There are two more parts to this, but I don't have time to write them now! I hope it's good!

Chapter 20~ (Pt. 2)

Brookeira and Brig huddled under a large, bushy pine tree, shivering with cold and an icy fear which kept their hearts racing. Exhausted, they had lain there for a few hours. Their limbs ached, even Brookiera's, who was used to this kind of exertion. With a sigh Brookeira shook herslef and whispered, "We should move on now."

Brig's eyes snapped open and she turned her head to Brookeira. "Really?" Brig asked, pulling her knees up to her chest as she leaned against the tree. "Wouldn't we be safer here? Hidden?"

Brookeira shook her head as she moved to a crouching position. "Not really. Well, it wouldn't make a difference. Some things rely on smell, while some rely on sight. We might as well catch up with the other while we can." She frowned and peered out under the cover of the tree.

Why? Brig pondered. Why should she help this strange knight who she had only just met?

Brookiera suddenly stood, still bent at the waist, and left the cover of the old pine. The darkness envolped her and Brig shot out after her, relieved to see Brookiera was still there.

Brig stood and met Brookeira's gaze. With a moent of elightenment, she realized that the tall, majestic warrior who stood before her had won her respect. Brookiera held her helmet and her straight brown hair shined softly in the peculiar glow that lined the tips of the tree and smiled.

Brig smiled back, so out of place in the strange night, with her delicate, innocent appearance and white clothing, which was suprisingly clean, undoubedly magic fabric. Brookeira had won her respect, and Brig was determined to stick by her side.

"Can you track horses?" Brookiera asked.

Brig smiled and nodded, looking up at the twinkling stars dotting the sky. "To some extent."

"Good. We need all our effort in this lightling." Brookiera took a deep breath and let it out, a small cloud of white appearaing in front of her because of the cold. Then she met Brig's sparkling green eyes, which seemed to light up on their own.

Together, they stepped forward into the forest.

Chapter 20~ (Pt. 3!!)

Night had fallen upon the town of Chatterbox. Families were safely at home, only the occasional car drove the streets and broke the silence.

The girls had collapsed onto their beds, exhausted from the events of the day, but mostly from the bikes. All except Katy, Evie, and Emily, who had stayed up studying before they fell asleep in the living room.

The town seemed peaceful, but strange things were happening. The magic of old was medling with the present.

Not just magic, but beings. The very essence of magic, they were the most powerful. Yet, they were imprisoned at one time. Imprisoned between time and space, in nothingness for hundreds of years, only to escape, escape with a goal. They had escaped in the present, but were weak in this strange world. So they needed successors, heirs, hosts. These girls, each pure and noble in their own way, were destined to be the new successors.

If everything went as planned.
