Reawakened RP

Reawakened RP
Once, long ago, the world was awake.
We lived in harmony with magic, and it in turn lived inside of us. We flourished together in a partnership that was so interwoven that it became difficult to tell the person apart from the flame that was part of their being.
That time, however, is long gone.
We have abused the power that was freely given us, and now we live in a cold world, reigned by men in iron towers who hold our world in their iron grip. Magic is nothing but a memory, a story whispered when we think nobody’s listening.
But what if I told you that we can bring it back?
Hello everyone! I’m Autumn Leaves, a former cber who hasn’t been on in forever because life got very…… lifey! (And by that I mean busy) Anyways, my mom actually gave me the month off of English to do creative writing which seemed like a dream come true until I suddenly couldn’t seem to write anymore. So I decided that I’d use my English time to start an RP!
All that aside, here’s the premise.
Our characters are living in a world called Aeros that used to be teeming with magic. It was deeply engrained in the culture, the people, and the society. However, it wasn’t long until people came along who wanted to misuse it. They found ways to manipulate it to do their bidding but didn’t realize what the consequences would be until it was too late. On a day that would later be known as the vanishing, magic completely disappeared.
Now, the world is a place of steel and iron and technology beyond anything that those early people could have dreamed of. But it is cold. People are told exactly how to act, how to think, how to live. Nobody says outright that you have to follow the rulebook, but those who don’t tend to mysteriously disappear. There also may or may not be hidden cameras. Depending on who you ask.
Your characters have begun to hear whispers that there have been sightings of magic for the first time in centuries. They have heard that there have even been a few who have been able to channel tiny bits of magic.
Who knows? Perhaps one of your characters will be among the lucky few who show a proficiency for magic.
Ok, so I haven’t done an RP in like forever, so I'm going to do my very best to do this right. I haven’t done a lot of world building yet, but basically, Aeros is this super oppressed, super futuristic society, and you can feel free to worldbuild as you go :)
Here’s the charrie sheet
Name:
Gender:
Age:
A little personality*:
Appearance:
Position**:
Other:
*I always had trouble with this because it’s hard to fit a character in a few sentences when you haven’t even met him/her yet. So you can be as vague or as detailed as you want.
**Job, basically. You can choose something that's necessary for the survival of a civilization, (Engineer, scientist, ect) Or have fun with it and make something up.
Ok, hope that wasn’t too much information for ya! (I tend to do that :P) Have fun!
(Luna says nbwi. I am not a newbie Luna! I've been here for over two years. Crazy wolf.)

Okay I'm going to make a couple charries (shipping them together)

1.

Name: Coal Hardenedtar(hardened-tar)

Gender: M

Age: 21

A little personality: Coal is funny and sweet but when it comes to his girlfriend Willow (as in the willow tree) he would die for her!

Appearance: He is usually dressed in all black (like actual coal) with dark hair and grey eyes.

Position: Not surprisingly Coal is a Jewelist and on sundays will go find coal that he can compress into diamonds.

Other: He came from a different town called Brochenburg but sunbursts attacked it so he fled to Aeros where he met Willow and they lived happily until now.Surprised

Now it is Willows turn.

Name: Willow Treeith

Gender:F

Age:18

A little personality: A little sarcastic but mostly serious when it comes to schoolwork which she gets from her dad (learn more about him in other) but is loving which she gets from her mom.

Appearence: Willow is a blonde with bright green eyes, and wears short sleeves unless it is winter, and she will wear a sweater over it.

Position: Willow studies at a college called hintenington college but works as a misue.

Other: Willows mom died when Willow was born so her dad blamed Willow. Her dad got more ferious every day and one day joined the sunbursts. Willow ran away from home at the age of ten and met Coal and so she lived with him after that.

Alright I am starting

~Coal

Coal woke up at 3:00 a.m. He did his normal routine of checking on Willow, brushing his teeth and having breakfast but something felt wrong but he couldn't place it. He went to the cupboard and pulled out his emty box of cereal which was actually a spying box. He found out how to do this in a book he read called 'how to be a spy' . it wasn't as helpful as it said it was but it worked. Just then there was a knock on the door. He opened it and saw a military officer standing outside.

"Come with me," he said in a rough, scratchy voice. He pulled out a gun so Coal did what he was told to. The man put Coal in a car and locked the doors. He looked as if someone was chasing him. We looked back and saw members of a different group steering right behind us. He slammed his foot down on the pedal and we were off. The mysterious people were chasing us but the military officer lost them eventually. He drove to a gate that said 'Sunburst secret HQ' in tiny letters on the side.

"Uh," Coal said, "I do have a job you know and-"

"I know but, we will give you a different one and a raise." Coal stayed silent after that. He could take the raise. The man stopped at a parking spot and turned around.

"Follow me," he said getting out of the car. Coal did and took a good look at the car and realized it was a military jeep. He looked up and saw the man in front of him at the buildings door.

"Well," the man said, "are you coming!" Coal followed reluctantly watching my step. The man put his hand on the door and an electronic voice said 'Welcome Henry Arandoffer'. Then the door opened and Coal walked in. When he got in the man told me to find there leader. The door closed with a click. He knew it would be a long day.

Okay guys! I was kind of waiting for some connections before I wrote, so that's why I haven't written a lot yet. In my last post, Solstice was told by her personal guard, Abasi, that they had found another person with magic and were bringing them to Solstice. This could be anyone! Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, Solstice is not so much evil as...well, I'll try to explain.

Solstice~

I make myself walk across the small room, trying to pretend that the world around me seems to be shaking with every tenative step.

The whole room is full of glass. A cryastal-topped glass table and carefully crafted glass chair sit in the center of the small room. Glass makes up one wall, looking out over the city from the high, dominant view granted by my father's towering building. It seems almost as if he collected up all of Aeros at his feet, and then drew himself upward, rising on all the power. Power he can hardly control anymore, now that he is older.

Unlike his mighty dominion, glass can shatter. I think that's why I like it. Why it soothes me. Glass can shatter. It is beautiful, but delicate. Cold and hard, but not hard enough.

I reach the stunning, double glass doors. My hands reach for the handles and trail down their spotless gold curves. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before pushing them open. A blast of air throws itself out to me, rustling the hem of my dress.

I open my eyes. The hallway is empty.

"Abasi?" I call loudly. My voice echoes through the abandoned hallway. It sounds strong. Powerful. I let a smile twist my lips.

It takes a few seconds to get an answer, but soon I hear sharp, steady foosteps coming towards me.

But the man who steps around the corner is not Abasi.

"Cynebil!"

"Uh...yes, sorry. Your honor," Cynebil hastily adds, tilting his head in a hurried bow. The flourescent light highlights his thick, wavy hair, making it appear to be a kalaidescope of browns and yellows and oranges and a few hints of red.

"Didn't mean to frighten you," he goes on, with a dangerously endearing smile.

"It's...quite alright," I reply with difficulty. The words don't want to come out, they seem stuck in my throat.

"Well," he starts. Is it my imagination, or does he seem flustered too? No matter, I tell myself quickly.

"Well...there's something going on down there," Cynebil continues. I know he means the Sunburst HQ in the forgotten basement built below my father's building. Only he and a few of his select officials know of it's existance, but Archard Ramiah no longer visits the engineering empire he ruled.

He's fading.

Slowly, but decidedly.

Suddenly, I realize that Cynebil has trailed off and now looks at me quizzically.

"And, so," I prompt impatiently.

"I came to talk to Abasi, to see if you could, well, what I mean is, to see if you wished to—"

"I certainly will want to interrigate this so-called weilder of magic," I interupt.

"Well, when you put it that way..." Cynebil laughs and steps forward.

"I'll escort you down, your honor," He says in an exagerated tone, his brown eyes playfully teasing, silently begging me to take the bait and join in.

"You certainly will," it comes out harsher then I meant it to be, and his face drops into a frown as he walks over. Gently, he places one hand on my shoulder, making a hissing sound through his teeth as his skin touches mine. I've been told it feels like solid ice. Slowly, he helps me walk forward.

I try to keep myself from trembling, or from letting my mind float away on a bitter winter wind.

Beautiful and strong, but delicate.

I am glass.

~

Awwww I love making my villians absolute softies on the inside! I'll explain more about Solstice, but it's kind of a plot twist, so I'll wait a bit :)

Ahem, hey guys. Sorry, it’s kind of late now,  it would it be okay if I joined in? I have an idea for the story that may be interesting.

I’m thinking that maybe something happens that causes the magic weilders to be forced to escape the city, which of course is super dangerous, it necessary. Then, my Charrie is an outsider that lives relatively close to the border, but the day they escape, I’d wandered closer than I usually do and we run into each other and stuff happens. Basically, it’d mean that now anyone on the outside is also in danger, as the government would be searching for these escapees and might accidentally find more outsiders instead? I don’t know, it’s a pretty undeveloped idea as of now but yeah. Heh. I’m loving the story so far!

I'm sorry that I'm so late to be posting again!

Lynett~

The door opens and I see a cloaked man. He's horrifying, and it's all I can do not to stare. I duck around him just as he lunges at me. Wow. I can't believe I just did that! But my victory is short-lived, because he turns around and runs at me. I leap downstairs, run out the door, and go into the woods. I run for as log as I can, but he doesn't lose me. Eventually, I run to a cliff, and he has me cornered. There's nothing I can do. I hold my hands out in front of me, and suddenly, a burst of energy surges out and knocks him to the ground, unconsious. I don't know what to do, so I wait a moment to catch my breath, and I run away. I don't even know where I'm going, all I know is that I'm dangerous and can't be around anyone. I think about going back home, but I decide not to in fear of hurting my family. I run through the woods, not knowing where I am, until I see someone else.

So sorry I haven't posted in a little bit..... holidays don't ya know :P

Anyways, pizzaboy, welcome to the group, and Kestrel, welcome back and welcome to this rp! Anyone is free to join so long as they catch up on the goings on of the rp so far and create a character. As to your plot idea, I think it's a really good idea, but I think that we should wait a little bit to implement it. Like, I think we should get our characters a bit more situated, maybe concentrate them into larger groups, (like, pairs, trios, whatever, just have them meet up some more). And then maybe we could have them run to some abandoned base outside. Like, maybe they join the outsiders and find a place that lets them amplify their power. Or something. But that's a really great idea! Everybody please feel free to contribute to building on this, so we can have an idea of the general direction we want to steer our charries in.

I will post...... at a point. In the near future. I actually wrote out an entire thing the other night but it stunk and made no sense and I was tired so I decided to rewrite it and that hasn't really happened yet XD

Luna says "karn". I have no idea who this Karen is.

Me, has a quiestion. If the mines plus every thing else are for people who are magic weilders, the gaurds would have magic deturant thingys, right? And, if so, what would they be? Because if the prison thing didnt have any magic gaurded things, then whats stopping the peeps from leaving? I tried to answer them on my own, but I cant so I need yalls help.

That's a really good point! Maybe some sort of magic absorbing weapon? Like, a sword, or even a net that drains your magic? Or maybe people in the mines are implanted with some sort of magic repressing thing. Or maybe it's given to them in their food? Maybe the entire area is lined with some sort of magic represent. I think in the end I'll leave it up to you guys, as you're the ones who are going to have to escape from it :P

Luna says "oiki". Luna you're a wolf, not a pig.

Okay, since this is a really complicated but really awesome RP, I think I should do up a quick status report of my charries since I've been really vague with them for everyone just joining.

Charrie #1, Solstice.

Location: Her Father, Ramiah Solstice's, governement building, which is now mostly just for show now that he has retired, and has secretly become the Sunburst HQ.

Situation: SHE IS LIKE KIND OF EVIL MWAHAHAHAHAHA. And she also needs someone to be evil to (look below). She's also...well...rather broken, too.

Character connections: none right now, but she really needs someone who has magic, was captured by her guards, and is now ready to face her.

Powers/other: To be revealed :) I will tell you now that she is 1/3 Astrid Dane from ADSOM, 1/3 Winter from the Lunar Chronicles, and 1/3 original, with a few little bits of Ren from RWBY mixed in. Confused yet?

Charrie #2 Husko (Silver)

Location: The mountain pass on the outer realms of Aeros.

Situation: He's one of the Wild Ones, a species similar to humans that were born of magic. He doesn't actually HAVE magic, though. Silver is also basically a prisoner, but they give him a "position" as guard at the mountai pass b/c  his only crime was being born, so they can't hold him for that. He's also trying to escape.

Character connections: Probably going to meet up with Sirus, who works INSIDE the mountains, when he escapes.

Powers/other: Ummmm none.

Cool! Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Thanks for letting me join.

Name: Kestrel Willows

Gender: female
Age: 16
A little personality*: curious, very perceptive/ aware
Appearance: Real appearance- indigo hair that gradually fades to silver at the tips, eyes like the sea (sometimes blue, others green, others grey), average height (maybe slightly on the taller end), has a tattoo on collarbone of three lines, each one a bit shorter than the one before and beside the shortest line is an eye wide open (this is the symbol of the organization, and everyone that join it has one).
fake appearance (for when she enters the city)- platinum blonde hair,p (dyed) solid turquoise eyes (thanks to colored contacts, which also double as a computer system that displays information to her and her only). Always wear clothes that cover the tattoo.
Position**: Scout
Other: she’s an Outsider, and is part of a very small organization that is trying to smuggle magic weilders and anyone else who is trying to escape the government out called Echo. There is one secret passage that allows entry into Aeros that the government doesn’t know about, which they use to send in one person at a time to scout the city.

Hi! Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. Here's a segment I wrote latish last night. (So sorry for its sort of randomness XD)

The world is a blistering inferno of color.

For just an instant, the magic surrounds me. It fills me. It gives me a glimpse of the world it sees, a world painted in light and dark, intensity, rage, hatred, love, fear, hope…. A world painted in the choices that we make. A world that is slowly being choked to death by the iron fist of greed and a thirst for power. A world which needs hope.

A world which needs magic.

There’s a moment, too. Where I see the thing that keeps me up at night. The thing that threatens to bring my life crashing down around my ears.

I see myself.

I see myself as the magic sees me. As I see myself when the magic lets me see the world through its eyes.

Everyone, no matter who they are, has magic at their core. Whether it’s awake or not, whether it fills their entire being or simply resides hidden away in some corner of the subconscious, it’s always there.

Except for me.

I am empty.

I think I dream before I wake up.

The dreams hold no pretense of logic, simply shifting from image to idea to sound to pure energy, coursing through my mind in a tidal wave of sensation. I can only grasp onto the idea that I have no control. That they are not really my dreams, but simply the thoughts of something more powerful than me.

When I wake up, it is with a sense of purpose.

I know what I have to do.

“Sorry, guys. I’m going to have to leave you behind for a bit.” I lightly brush my fingers over my work, saying a silent goodbye to the pieces of technology that have fascinated me with their deadly complexity since I was old enough to understand what a nanochip was. I spin on my heel and scan the shelves of my tiny workshop, looking for a few things that I should probably bring with me. Just in case.

In the end I decide that packing light is probably my best option. I make a quick trip to the kitchen and manage to snag a few cans of food, half a loaf of bread, and a small bag of nuts and dried fruits. I shove this, along with a few of my smaller weapons prototypes, a canteen of water, a blanket, an extra jacket, and a holotracker into one of the standard issue brown canvas bags that Orion managed to snag from a government warehouse. I stay for dinner, trying to eat as much as possible without drawing strange looks from the agents around me.

When night falls, I strap on a favorite pair of gloves and take a last, long look at the place that I’ve called home for the last been my home for the last eighteen years.

As I stand there, my bag hanging from my shoulders, all the savings I’ve gathered from the occasional salary that Orion gives us stuffed into a small leather pouch, a single thought flashes through my mind.

Commander Vinyaya is not going to be happy about this.

There are very few ways that one can leave the Orion complex.

Two, actually.

The first is the main entrance. It’s the most heavily fortified, and it’s where we bring in shipments. And ships.

The second is more of a back route, and very few people know about it. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to use my cryto descrambler to break through the lock. Hoping being the key word here.

“Wren? What are you….. I knew it.” I freeze. You’ve got to be kidding me. This is the last thing I need right now. I turn around slowly and stare into Ember’s slightly incredulous face. I give a short laugh that I’m pretty sure sounds more horselike than genuine. “Nothing, nothing. Just taking a walk.” Ember raises an eyebrow. “With a packed bag.” I shrug. “Good for your muscles. Besides, I could ask you the same question.”

Ember looks down at the bag that she’s carrying in her hands, then looks back at me. “You were obviously getting ready to leave somewhere. So I decided I’d follow you.” I snort. “Yeah right, you were able to figure that out.” She raises her eyebrow. Sometimes I wish I could do that. “You ate a lot at dinner, which you pretty much never do. You usually just sit there and pick at your food with a faraway expression until mandatory mealtime is over, then grab your food and run off to your workshop.” I laugh. “I do no-” Ember ignores my interjection and continues. “I saw you trying to smuggle food from the kitchen. Canned food. The only reason you’d be getting that is if you needed it to last for a long time. You also-” I raise my hands in surrender. “Ok, enough, enough. I get it. You’re fantastic. But the real question here is not how long you’re going to gloat it about it, it’s how soon you’re going to alert everybody that I’m trying to leave.” I tighten my grip around the collapsable staff that I have in my pocket. “And whether or not you’re going to try to stop me.”

Ember just rolls her eyes. “Did you not hear what I said two seconds ago? I’m. Coming. With you.” I bite my lip. “I’m not so sure that’s a great-” Ember holds up a small, metal chip. “I have an access card for the back exit.”

I grin. “Never mind I take it back. This is a great idea.” I gesture down the hallway. “You first.”

Our particular Orion base is located inside one of the mountains that separate the city from the outside. The only reason that nobody’s figured out that we exist is because of a well curated series of tunnels that every initiate has to know their way around by heart.

When Ember and I slip out of the back entrance, the night air hits us in the face like a slap. I shiver and pull my jacket closer around me. Ember points at the sky. “Look.” I tilt my head back and stare at our two moons. They float in the sky, each a perfect half of a disk that illuminates the rocky landscape that surrounds us. I hear Ember shiver beside me. “Where are we going?” I tighten the straps of my bag around my shoulders and pull out my holo-tracker. “We’re going to the mines.” She gives a short gasp of surprise. “The mines? Are you insane? Why on Aeros are we going there?”

I look up from my holo-tracker at the darkness that surrounds us and smile.

“Because I’m looking for a pair of eyes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I was thinking that maybe, because Sirus is already leaving the mines, that Wren and Ember meet up with Solstice and Sirus. Or maybe they meet up with Solstice and try to find Sirus. Or vice versa. Anyways, I just thought that I needed to go ahead and start moving some people out of Orion, so I went ahead and started that XD
Luna says "fcrm". The fulcrum? That sounds really familiar but I can't place it....... Is it like from a movie or something?
