Spontaneous RP!

Spontaneous RP!

Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).

So, let's just do some writing.

two rules.

1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.

2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.

If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:

http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463

just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.

Without further ado, let us begin.

~

"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"

"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.

"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.

"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"

"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,

"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.

"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.

"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.

"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.

"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.

"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.

"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.

"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.

"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.

For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.

Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch

P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.

I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

Saphira~~

I have never been so angry in my life. These guards just barge in whenever they want to and ignore everybody else. It's just so stupid! They're leaving me alone of course, but they're running everywhere chasing Phoenix and his sister. I pull my crown out, shove it onto my head, and transform my travle outfit into a fancier outfit. My eyes start glowing with power I shoot into the air and yell.

"These people are under Fairie protection! Leave now or risk a war with my people."

Silence fills the brigg as my words thunder around.

"This is a state matter Princess, you have no right to keep us from them. The terms allow us to control our own people." a guard grumbles.

"Unless they're our prisinor, right? Then we have a right to put them on trail." I snap.

"That's right." The guard says.

"Well then, they're my prisinors." I growl.

I wave my hands and tie everyone up.

"Wha---" the guard say.

"They're on trial for crashing one of your ships into our land. They stole my pegasuses and have been causing trouble for all of fairie land. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about pressing charges on you for allowing a ship to crash into my land. Not to mention you attacked my ship. That might be interpreted as an act of war." I say, "Now leave while I'm feeling generous."

The guards backed away quickly and left. I wave my hands again and put the fires out and restore the ship, then I untie everyone.

"All right, that should stop them for now. They're going to come back of course. I sorry I had to tie you all up, it was the only way I could of done that without giving you up. Now! If you need me I'll be looking for some burritos." I say.

~~~~~~~
If you don't want the battle to end so quickly, you can bring them back! I'm going to be having a busy week so I might not post as often as I would like.
Also, her crown is a natural magic enchancer, so it boots magical powers.
Hi! I'm back!! I'll catch up a bit and then post. But first, we have some new charries! Dom, Adrian, and the 7 sisters are all open! If no one wants to play them, then I might keep Phoenix as my main charrie and then switch around with secondary charries to keep the story going. There is no limit to characters. And you can change secondary charries as much as you like, kind of like with the Boarding School RPG.
Um, I'm not entirely sure about the whole ship thing. He's kind of oblivious and probably doesn't even really remember her name. They can be friends and all that, but could we hold off on the romance?
Oh, and Rose bud and I have agreed to switch off writing Dominique's POV.
Dathan~
The world swims sleepily back into focus. I'm staring up at the ship bay ceiling, at the intricate patterns that the huge beams and pipes form, my back pressed flat against the hard floor. My legs feel strange, numb-like.
Someone twitches beside me. I try to roll over but my legs protest, perversely staying numb; I crane my neck instead, to see the winged girl beside me. Not the fairy, the other one. Lydia, or Lainey, or Lyra. I think it was Lyra.
"Lyra?" I try to say, but my voice feels hoarse. My legs start to feel alive again, and they tingle and hurt, when I stand up. Whatever those guns were, they were really cool, and would be super useful to have in a fight. She flings the hair out of her eyes, and leaps to her feet.
"C'mon," she says, "The fight isn't over!" She grabs my wrist, and meets my eyes. I'm a little stunned, but I forge ahead and thrust myself into the fight.
Lyra~
Flying low over the battle, I dodge stray stunning blasts and knock out as many officials as I possibly can. I am definitely not regretting all those self-defense videos I spent hours learning from!
Just as I slam my heel into a chubby, sandy-haired officcer's face, a loud shriek pierces the noise of the fray and I jerk my head around to see a burly official forcing Galexia's arms behind her back. She kicks and screams and bites, but to no avail.
"GALEXIA!" Phoenix yells, but he's blocked by two officials. "Is it just me, or are there more of these guys than before?" Dathan shouts while he fends off another attacker. I glance at the end of the hallway, just as three more officials round the corner. I don't have any more time to waste. Galexia is screaming over and over again. "NIXIE! NIXIE!" And then, something slides into place in my subconscious.
"Leave her alone!" I yell. Everything seems illuminated by a white light. And that's when I realize... "Lyra! You're on fire! Literally!" Phoenix yells. Slivery-white flames blaze on my wings and from my hands, and yet I can't feel anything- I'm not burning! It's my magic!
Grinning, I dive towards the official grappling with Galexia. He lets out a strangled yell of fright and is just about to drop her when a sudden explosion of purple energy throws him back onto the floor- knocked out cold. Startled out of my wits, I land abruptly and ungracefully before I meant to, and my fire dies away instantly. Purple flecks begin to appear in Galexia's frightened eyes. My gaze to her hair. The tips are already a violent shade of purple, and the color is now creeping up further.
"Galexia.." I breathe in little more than a whisper. "You have... purple magic." Seemingly, she realizes what is happening to her hair and starts frantically rubbing her hands down her rapidly color-changing hair, as if that would make it stop. "No, no, no, no, no..." she gasps, and begins to cry. "Not purple..."
More and more officials are swarming in... I don't know what to say to Galexia. I kneel down to be more on her level. "Look... Galexia... why-- Is purple magic so terrible? I thought you liked purple." Galexia snaps her head up so fast I almost jump. "You don't understand, do you?" she practically sobs. "Purple magic is dangerous. Completely unpredictable. I might- I might hurt somebody! ...Like him," she says miserably as she gestures to the unconscious official.
Before I know what's happening, Galexia is sobbing her heart out on my shoulder. Awkwardly, I reach my arms around her. On an instinct, I stretch my wings forward around the little girl as well. Now I feel more natural, though still perhaps a little shocked that she would even be comfortable doing this with me. I can't help smiling a little when she reaches out a hand to brush the silky feathers of my wings.
As her sobs subside, I tell Galexia gently, "We'll help you through this getting used to your magic. I promise. Okay?" She nods as she takes a deep, shaking breath. We look up just in time to spot two assailants running for us.
"Wonderful." I mutter sarcastically. Ok-kaaay, let's see how this works. I close my eyes and concentrate to try and bring back the fire. The same white glow as before returns. I raise my hands threateningly.
The officials do a double take, glancing first at me and then Galexia's eyes and hair. One backs up, but the other puts out a hand to stay him. "C'mon, you idiot. She can't keep that flaming business up forever." he growls. "Wanna bet?" I shoot back. The man curls his lip, and draws out some sort of chainsaw-looking weapon from his belt. He slides a little switch forward on the handle. The chainsaw thingy ignites with fire. "Ook-kaaay, you wanna step it up a notch? We'll step it up a notch," I flash, and ball my hands into fists.
Whispering to Galexia out of the corner of my mouth, I hiss, "You're going to have to use your magic!" She bites her lip but raises her hands and assumes a defensive posture. Here we go again, I think grimly, and arch my flaming wings.
Chainsaw Macho Man makes a headlong rush for me. I send a ball of white fire straight at his middle and he is forced to jump out of the way. Getting bolcer, I cast a wide ring of flames around Galexia and me. Other Dude then whips out his stunning blaster and sends a couple of shots at us, which Galexia blocks with a shield of buzzing purple energy. We're completely oblivious to the whole other section of the fight.
Suddenly, I hear Saphira's enfuriated voice ringing across the hall. "These people are under fairy protection! Leave now or risk a war with my people." I spot her floating above the battle, which comes to a halt as her voice is thundering around the brig.
"This is a state matter, Princess, and you have no right to keep us from then. The terms allow us to control our own people." the chainsaw guard returns icily. He seems like the leader. But Saphira speaks again. "Unless they're our prisoners, right? Then we have a right to put them on trial." "... That's right." the official admits gruffly. "Well then, they're my prisoners."~
Phoenix~
For one beautiful night and morning, everything is just perfect. My sister is back. And she has blue magic and apparently has known about everything. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about that, but I'm doing my best not to barrage her with all the questions bursting inside me. She definitely has an epic story to tell, so why doesn't she go ahead and tell it? I also don't like this Dominique guy. Where did he come from anyway? Why is my sister suddenly great friends with him? He's not part of the crew. He's not in on this. I can't help his presence, so I just kind of glare at him. Maybe he'll go away.
After a much needed night of sleep, we all settle down for a long discussion. Which ends up being very boring, because no one can come up with anyone besides more questions, no one is telling any of their epic stories, and no one will let me fly any planes! Turns out Dom is an excellent flyer. Turns out he got Andromeda out of some trouble. Yeah right, Andromeda can get herself out of trouble. She's the toughest person I know, and now she has blue magic besides.
So, we all say goodbye to the fairies (who seem very glad to see us go, for...some reason) and head to the flight bay.
Outside the courtyard, the whole fairy city opens up before us. Colorful lights hang in zig-zags across buildings. Flowers bloom in unexpected places all over the pathways, roofs, walls, and...well, everything else. The Flight Bay is separated slightly from the rest of the city by a ring of security, probably protected the people in fairyland from other travelers, but Saphira waves us through easily.
We never make it to the plane.
"Here we go again," Dominique mutters to Andromeda as the first explosion shakes the ground. Andromeda whirls on him.
"You told me they couldn't follow you!"
"Well, look at that, they've done the impossible." He calmly reaches inside his jacket and pulls out what I call a Master Blaster. Cool.
Andromeda snorted and did the same.
"Must not have been too hard."
"What's wrong? What's going on?" Galexia asks, the tiredness jarred out of her.
"Nothing, baby," Andromeda answers as someone outside the Flight Bay screams, "Dom and I may have made some people mad in the Spectrum System. Guards, Officials, and bounty hunters, mostly."
"Mostly?" Sam echoes incredulously.
"They're probably looking for me. And you." she adds, pointing to me. Me? Wanted across the galaxy? That's kind of awesome.
"And me," Dom puts in.
"Ehhh, probably not. Sorry." She shrugs and smiles jokingly as the walls shake from another explosion and the doors burst open.
"Get the blue-haired girl and yellow-haired boy!" The man in the lead yells.
"That's me!"
"Shush, Phoenix," suddenly Jaihra is right beside me, tense for a fight. Dominique, Andromeda, and Lyra charge at the oncoming surge of attackers. Sam stands just behind them, shooting blue blasts of energy, and Raja prepares to leap out of the shadows; claws extended. Jaihra and I stand in front of Galexia, protecting her. Suddenly, a flash of fear strikes me, and I wish I had a weapon.
Everything falls apart so quickly. I see bits and peices; Andromeda fighting with powerful skill and reflexes that I didn't know she had. Lyra's wings literally catching on fire. And more and more people running straight at me. I brace myself for an attack.
What do I do? What do I do? I have to hold my ground, but what the heck do I do? One of the attackers comes at me, a woman in a strange outfit and even stranger weapon. But I don't have time to admire it, because she is going to fire it at me. I put my arms up and try to tap into my magic, and somehow manage some kind of force. I push it all at the guard. She stumbles backwards, but it's not enough. All I can manage is quick, little outward pushes of yellow magic. Enough to keep people away from me, but not for long. Jealously, I catch a glimpse of Sam shooting powerful blue magic "grenades" that explode around her.  Every time I gather my magic and force it towards the attackers, I can feel it leave me, and take my energy with it. Above the roar of yells and noise, Galexia screams. Oh no. She was just right behind me! A deep panic threatens to swallow my heart as I desperately search the fire-lit ships bay.
I can't find Galexia. And I can't keep up my defense much longer. Everything is panicked chaos circling around me. Someone grabs my elbow and hauls me backwards. I don't even try to struggle.
"Somehow, I don't think we're the combat type," Jaihra says, dropping my arm as we slide under one of the airships. Flaming peices of wood and other material drop down around us.
"Stupid magic! Why won't it work?"
"You have softer magic, remember? Not the fighting type?" Obviously, the great selectors of who magic should go to don't know me at all. I'd rather be out there fighting. But instead, I lay my head down on my elbow, completely exhausted. Galexia. Where is Galexia? Where is Galexia? The refrain pounds in my head.
I take a deep breath and struggle to my feet. Jaihra is gone. I scan the flaming building for them, coughing from the smoke. After what feels like forever, I see Jaihra standing with a frightened Galexia in the corner. Oh thank goodness.
But something's not right. I can almost feel it from here...the magic tension in the air.
No, no, this is all wrong!
Galexia and Jaihra fight their way back towards me.
I can see it through the hazy, wavering heat and falling debris. The purple magic.
Galexia's purple magic.
Then it's all over.
Saphira's voice rings out, magically magnified, across the building.
Dominique~
Two days ago, I didn't even know these people. And now I'm fighting beside them. Waiting in the flight bay on Earth yesterday, I was expezctigg a routine flight. Being a pilot for the government, I've seen a lot of strange things, and had just about come to the conclusion that nothing can surprise me anymore. Well Andromeda surprised me. I'm still not completely sure how she managed to drag me to the Spectrum System, get me in trouble, and then promptly make me zoom back here to this crazy fairyland.
I stand still in the front of the burning flight bay, calmly shooting anyone who tries to pass me with glowing bursts of energy from my blaster. It's over quickly, once the fairy princess girl manages to stop the fighting by literally holding the attackers back with magic and tries to settle everyone peacefully. A diplomat. I like it. She may not get very far in this crazy galaxy, but she must be brave enough to try. The Officials leave immediately. They may have slightly twisted laws about magic, but one thing they respect absolutely is authority. They know not to get involved with the rules of another system. Meanwhile, the guards of Spectrum System surround Saphira in an angry, yelling, mob, demanding their rights to take Andromeda away and lock her up for good. I get the feeling this wasn't her first time wreaking havoc there. And in Spectrum System, just about anything goes. Except for stealing prized information, which is exactly what we did. We all walk out of the burning building, alive, and for the most part unharmed. I look around at the ragtag bunch. Strange people, these magic beings. I expect I'll have to get used to it. The girl with wings carries Andromedas little sister, whose hair has turned a brilliant purple. Purple. There's not much i know about magic, but I've never even heard of purple magic before, much less encountered anyone with it. The fairy girl continues squelching any signs of violence and trying to save the burning ship bay at the same time. The bounty hunters and other atrackers from Spectrum System quietly retreat and reload their weapons, ready to try again at dragging Andromeda and, as a bonus, her brother, back to Spectrum for a reward. If they try anything, I'll stop it quickly. These kids are too young for all of this intergalaxial drama. If only there was no such thing as magic.
I’m back! Sorry I was gone for a week. I took the week off the CB to focus on NaNo, but I think it’s time to return to the beautiful, confusing, spontaneous chaos of this wonderful RP. 200+ posts is so rare for an RP nowadays! Congrats guys. <3
Anyway, I was thinking if we were going back to the original idea about having somebody for each type of magic, I think it’s working pretty well. Here are the already confirmed ones:
Phoenix: Yellow
Galexia: Purple
Andromeda: Blue
Raja: Green
And then if you base the rest off hair colour...
Sam: Black (I know it’s light blue, so this is kind of a stretch. Mainly because her hair is black.)
Lyra: I think she has white magic, and that would match her hair.
Zephyr: If Zephyr has magic, it would work if it was red (hair again).
I think that’s all seven? This is just a suggestion, not a canon post.
Zephyr as red magic and a drop of yellow magic, making a reddish orange hue hence why his hair is reddish orange.
