Spontaneous RP!

Spontaneous RP!

Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).

So, let's just do some writing.

two rules.

1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.

2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.

If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:

http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463

just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.

Without further ado, let us begin.

~

"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"

"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.

"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.

"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"

"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,

"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.

"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.

"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.

"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.

"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.

"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.

"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.

"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.

"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.

For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.

Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch

P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.

I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

I was thinking that the MWs would have Seven Immortal Sisters like the GWs... You know? This is too crazy. Could we just go back to Sacra being the long-lost Siver Galaxy Witch and Alathea being the Gold Galaxy Witch??

No, I think creating MW is really fun! And we have the details of MW down, mostly. I feel like Sacra being a Galaxy Witch would be too OP, since the Galaxy Witches are really powerful and all.

~ Galexia ~

"Thank the Galaxy Sisters we didn't die," Jaihra says as she unboards the ship behind Nixie.

Curious about the new planet we've landed on, I follow the two of them out, looking around at the barren landscape. Though there isn't much to see, there's a sense of wonder and mystery about this planet, with a vast expanse of sand stretched out on all sides of the ship. Many wisps of wind blow up gusts of sand that seems to fall into pictures.

Intrigued, I take a step away from Jaihra and Nixie and peer down at a sand-picture. I gasp as the wind kicks up again, swirling the sand to create a new picture. A picture of... me. In my room. My eyes widen and I take a step closer, staring at the artist wind swirls the sand again. Now I'm reaching under my bed, looking around, then... the sand reforms to show me holding Nixie's book from Aunt Carlena, trying to piece together the letters and sound out the words.

That scene had been when Nixie left his room open, briefly. I had snuck inside and taken the book for an afternoon, before returning it out of guilt. I had never told anyone... but how did this strange planet and strange sand and strange wind know?

I kicked the picutre, and the sand fluttered away, leaving the ground before me smooth again. I stared down at it for a few seconds, before turning away. All around the ship, the wind was smoothing away sand, swirling it and brushing it every which direction. I shivered, wondering what secrets were exposed in plain sight. Suddenly, this planet doesn't seem so wondrous anymore. It's more... spooky.

~~~
A brief prologue about the Planet of Secrets... I wonder what they'll discover here! And, also, I'm considering making a new charrie who lives on the Planet of Secrets... I'll work out the details later. And it would be cool if there were some sort of library on the planet... maybe one that contains books with everyone's secrets in it! My charrie could, like, live in the library, maybe?
*GASP* WHAT IF YOUR CHARRIE HAD METALLIC MAGIC!! *ANOTHER, LARGER GASP* WHAT IF YOUR CHARRIE WAS A GUY AND WE COULD SHIP HIM AND SACRAAAAAAAAAAA I'M DYING THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIESSSS!!!!!!! *Dies* *You find a scrap of paper in my right hand*
Gold - Deceptive magic, tends to play tricks and pranks that most of the time go VERY wrong, strong in combat, weak in caring.
Silver - All of the best of the Metallic Magicks. Note: Less OP than it seems.
Copper - Strong magic, strongest in combat but not pungacious like Gold.
Bronze - Wise magic, best in strategy and caring.
Iron - Defender magic, strongest in defense and caring but not that great in combat.
Brass - Like Bronze but is better in combat, weaker in strategy.
Steel - Like Iron, but is better in strategy, weaker in caring.
This is really cool y'all! It's so much fun to develop this RP!
First off, I'm super sorry I haven't been around recently. Highschool...is well...ceiling-high amounts of school. Plus I have a little part time job for the fall that's keeping me really busy. And I think the cash register hates me. It's conspired with the credit card machine and the little receipt thingie to ruin me. I literally have so much trouble pulling the customer receipts out help me it's so bad XD everyone thinks it is the funniest thing.
Okay, sorry, rabbit trail. What I was originally going to say is that I love the ideas of more magic! I didn't start out this RP with any sort of vision and stuff just sort of happened, and there really aren't any rules so anything goes.
Another thing is, I'm working on this really long post with fragments from all of my characters' povs that builds up a lot of emotional tension and stress towards the climax, which can be whatever. A showdown with Carol would be cool. I'm thinking maybe I'll post that in 2 parts so it won't be so much in one post! Me and my long posts, haha.
So anyway I bet y'all were hoping for a post, but it's just meeeee... my characters will be back, I promise!
I've got a question about Metallic Magic. Is it like Galexial Magic, where there are seven Metallic Sisters, but there are others who also have the magic, just not as much as the sister? Or is it that ONLY the Metallic Sisters have the magic, and they pass it down? Because I was thinking about having my new charrie have Iron/Steel magic (because he's the defender of the Library or something... details will come later!). Also, Rogue, when you say "caring," do you mean healing magic? Or kindness?
Raja
~~
"Preparing for reentery." I say, tying my hair up in a messy bun with some twine I found lying around. My hands sance across the holographic keyboard, my fingers bobing up and down, touching on one key, then bouncing off and to the next. It's just like training. It's just like training. I repeat to myself over and over. I hear Pheonix making sof zooming noises as he flips switches in the controll room, each making a soft click. I chuckle to myself, his mike is still on. I sigh, guess I'm not the only nervous one. Jai makes quick work of her 3D screen as well, her eyes flitting across the screen like a hummingbird, before she moves her hands across, carefully pressing the buttons. I see Adromeda place her hand beside Domonique's and hold her headpiece to her ear, trying to get a signal. She yells "I got something!" Then, the world is aflame.
Sorry again, do what you wish with the end of this miniscule post. Exiteddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What Metallic magic had siblings/wizards and witches instead of just sisters/witches? I know that Cassandra and I were thinking of making a male charrie with Metallic magic, and we already have a lot of female charries. What do you guys think?
Jaihra~
“Look at this place!” Sam and Phoenix bounded out of the ship excitedly.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this*” I grumbled. I looked down at the sand on the ground, and gasped. The sand created an image of me, a reflection of what I was doing. Then it shifted, showing me and Phoenix riding a Pegasus. Me and Sam pranking Nixie. A baby Galexia, carried by a 13 year old Andromeda to meet us for he first time.
“Whoa this is weird.” Raja stood next to me. She swiped at the sand, and it disappeared for a second, then blinked back.
“AHHH!”
“OH MY GOSH THE SAND IS MAGIC!” Sam and Phoenix were jumping around in the sand, and it was swirling around them.
“Wait. I think I know about this.” Saphira bent down, and touched a glowing pinky to the sand. “Yep, Pensive Sand. It knows all your memories when you touch it. Some elven nations used it as a spying mechanism in the Fourteenth Fairy-Elven War.”
”How does it work?” Asked Lyra, leaning over the edge cautiously.
“I’ll show you.” She set he hands over the sand, and her magic swept over it, glowing a gentle blue.
The sand swirled upwards, creating the life size figure of Mr. Starz.
Okay y'all.
I'm going to do something to you. Well, to our characters, but it usually hurts the writers more than the charries, honestly.
I've been planning this for a long, long time. As soon as we knew where this RP was going, actually. And I figured now is the time to start tightening and tensing the plot, getting ready for whatever our huge climax turns out to be.
And this may have to be like a multiple part post because I'm such a slow writer :P
Andromeda~
"Any idea where the heck we are? Looks like some planet—"
"More like floating chunk of rock with an unexplainable atmosphere, only enough gravitational pull to crash the ship again, and it's completely hidden from records, sensors, whatever," Dom replies, his fingers whizzing across the navigator computer.
"So basically, we're on a questionable chunk of space rock that defies science and we may have busted crucial parts on the ship. Again. Nice going, flyboy." I'm not really mad at Dom. Just frustrated that we are farther from our goal and that my dad is still out there, somewhere. I can feel the minutes ticking by around me. Precious seconds slipping away into the void of the foreboding planet.
"You know," I continued, "I bet this ship had a wonderful life before we got it. Between you and Pheonix, the poor thing is just going to sputter out and fall apart on us and I wouldn't blame it."
"Ow," Dom says in his typical, straight-foward voice.
"Ow, what? I haven't done anything to you. Yet."
"Ow, would-you-stop-talking-I-have-a-headache," he clarifies, still typing away at the navigation computer just as cool as could be.
"Okay, you stay here and find out where we are and how we can leave, and I'll make sure the others stay alive until we do. For all we know, there isn't even breathable air out there," I gesture to the powdery, smoky sand blowing around.
"It's fine. I checked," he says without looking up.
"What would we do without you?" I answer as I follow the others outside.
Dominique~
Andromeda walks out of the airship with her head held high, messy ponytail swaying sassily behind her. Every thump of her combat boots against the boarding plank is a statement, some sort of declaration to the galaxy. It's as if she's saying, "Come at me, world. Do your best. I'm right here."
Some people say that there's a special person out there waiting for everyone, and once you meet them, you just know.
And I just know. Her tough exterior doesn't hide a soft interior, but protects the even tougher core of a strong, loving sister and leader. And I would probably follow that brave, sassy, frustratingly teasing voice anywhere. If I had the choice.
It's too bad we didn't meet under different circumstances. It's too bad that out of all the people in this and every other galaxy, she has to be that one person. She has to be Andromeda.
But I'm sure she'll meet her special boy one day and forget all about me. And maybe I'll forget, too. All I know is that there is no one else anywhere like Andromeda Starz. And I have to tell her goodbye.
Although ship communications are down, my hidden wrist communicator still works across millions upon millions of miles. That's why it cost so many dashboarding Met Creds.
I place the call.
"Are you finally ready?" Agent Bennett's tired monotone filters through the watch.
"Yes. They're alone on a small planet, or a big chunk of rock, depending on how you look at it, east of the Milky Way galaxy. The closest coordinates I have are 800-cross-92, nearest recognizable constellation is the Witch's Broom. They should have no way out, but come quickly all the same. One of them's a fairy."
I give myself a breath. One final moment of belonging to a team. Of belonging to her.
Slowly, I fire up the ship's engine, the same way I have done hundreds of times to so many different airships. Nothing important was damaged in Pheonix's less-than-stellar landing. But I let the others believe it.
And just like that, I'm gone. It seems too easy, like drowning. All you have to do is give up.
As I quickly pull the ship away, rocketing towards the deep void of space, I have to keep myself from turning around, letting my fingers take over and sending my brain somewhere else. Anywhere else. If I look back and see the confused, hurt faces of the rag-tag team I'd left behind, I might feel something. And at this point, that would be enough to break me.
Zooming out towards the stars, I feel my fingers relax and let my eyes sweep methodically over the controls and gauges. This, at least, I know how to do. There is an easy right and wrong to piloting an airship through the galaxy. I click on the watch once more to activate it.
"Agent Bennet? Were you able to pinpoint the location?"
"Don't worry. Carol knows the place well."
~
*runs off in a corner*
*cries hysterically*
I'm sorrryyyyy I'm a horrible human being. But I was planning this as soon as I invented Dom, and long before we all got attached to him. Please don't bring him back with magic or whatever else, unless you think it is necessary to the story. I think this needs to happen for things to move forward.
