POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

This thread's purpose is to contain theories and stories about how the Powers came about and what they could be- besides the Powers of Wing and Claw. I'll post my stories as soon as I come up with them.

Admin: After a week or two, we will create a poll so everyone can vote on which origin story they like best! We might even combine more than one story.

I love your origin story(It's AMAZING!!!!), but I have a few questions. What do you think BIG is trying to accomplish by activating the Powers? And what type are the instrument? My Kyngdom character (Indigo Lee) has this strange, odly shaped necklace she's always had. Maybe it is one of the instruments? These are just a few thoughts, and I don't mind if they aren't used or anything. Thanks! :)

I just made up the Power of Hoof and am working on its story.

How about Nature Powers? Like Sun and Moon, or Ocean and sky. From the nature powers, the other powers originate, like The Power of Wing, which would come from Sky.

Also-Can my Warhorn be the item representing the power of Howl? I mentioned in my charrie description that it is said to sound the call of the wild, and is related to wolves.

Moonshadow: I know Admins said that your dad could be the main for the Powerof Howl, but at the same time, I think that the Warhorn should be involved somehow. So anyway, can we discuss it and decide together? Together, we could create the best background possible for the Power of Howl.

ok, Kasumi I think the power of hoof is a great idea. Maybe the Pegasus could be the creature for the power of hoof and the Phoenix could be the power of tail? Or the power of hoof could be instead of the power of tail

Neminem: I will think about it, maybe could you explain how the warhorn could be part of the power of howl and what exactly it is?

Here's Part One of the Power of Hoof's story:

The forest was dark, save for the shafts of moonlight filtering in from its canopy of leaves. A dense fog hung in the trees, giving a sense of gloom. Yet fireflies wound through the mist, glowing gold. They made the scene somewhat..... Enchanting. The forest seemed silent, but on a closer examination, the sounds of the night could be heard.

But then a faint trace of the sweetest music touched the night. The sound grew stronger and stronger, resonating like chimes, ringing like bells. Its melody was plaintive, mourning.... The music drifted through the forest as a glint of silver whisked through the fog. The silver entwined with the mist, swirling, weaving. It darted through as the music took on a dark note. The fog was thinning now as the silver raced through it. The fireflies formed a lazy trail behind it and the fog recollected behind the

As the fog cleared around it, the silver began to take on shape and form. Silver hooves, hard as flint, relentlessly beating the forest floor. A sleek body, rippling with muscles, leaping over obstacles. A pearly horn, glinting in the moonlight. Soulful dark violet eyes opened wide in fear as the unicorn freed herself from the last shreds of curling mist. The mare stepped into a clearing, graceful and elegant.

Suddenly, she doubled over, trumpeting in pain. Her legs folded beneath her as she collapsed, the fireflies hovering anxiously over her. A streak of pure silver liquid trickled from her as an arrow wedged itself in her side. The silver blood flowed freely from her flank as her violet eyes closed, neck lowering. Her beautiful mane rippled as she laid her head on her fetlocks. Her breathing came in short, shallow gasps, and her hooves, which had been pawing the ground, went slack.

She cried out, low and mournful, and a sound of pure grief escaped her lips. It rang throughout the forest as the music grew softer. The fireflies clustered around the mare, glows dimming, as a single tear dripped from her closed eye. It slid down her cheek, landing with a soft chime on the forest floor.

The tear worked its way into the earth, somewhat like a seed. It settled inside, roots taking hold in the ground as two tiny green leaves grew from it. A stem sprang up from the leaves, snaking upward until a silver bud formed. Its closed petals emanated a soft glow, a magical glow. The glow grew stronger as the unicorn grew weaker. Her radiant coat lost its sheen. Her hooves dulled. The arrow remained stubbornly stuck in her hide, and her breathing grew fainter and fainter. Her spiraling horn glimmered one last time, caught in the moonlight, as her flank stilled forever.

Part 2 coming soon! I need to write it. And Admins, I hope this isn't too sad. But, once the editors published a story about a severed head (including illustrations) in Cricket so I think I should be fine if this story gets published in the magazine. You'll see why it's the story of a Power later on, in the second part.

Can Xiaolong be descended from the Sea Serpent? He's a water dragon, Chinese dragons usually are.

I like your idea, Moonshadow! And Claaws is a great dragon, with large dark wings and scales that radiate darkness like fire. And maybe Claaws can turn into a snake? That sounds evil enough?  Or a panther because they seem evil too. And maybe since there is another dragon for the power of claw it could be a gaint clawed serpent? I really want Claaws to be a dragon, but she can be something else too.

ok Ya sounds great Claaws! And Kasumi I think that the power of hoof should replace the power of tail. I like it better. And Ya, Lucy/Xiolong I think Xiolong can be descended from the dragon

Once the Kyngdom was all wild. There were no humans (They came in from a different country later). All the creatures were divided into respective groups: Wings, Claws, Fins, Hooves, and Fangs. Each group had leaders. Then the humans started trickling in. The animals started fearing, so the leaders of the groups met to disvise a solution (This was very rare, as one was always trying to eat the other). Together, they scraped upo the last bits of magic in this world and created objects to preserve the wildness in the world. The creator of the Wing was a crow, the creator of the Claw was a badger, and so on. They all agreed that they guardians of these objects should be the same species as those who created them.

It went on like this, fairly peacefully for a long time, and the guardians weren't really neccessary until B.I.G. came along. Then they all scrambled to find the safest places for the objects and guardians, and so they scattered and passed slowly out of memory.

I might update it later, but I'm thinking something along those lines.

Moonshadow:

Actually, I think it would be best if we both decided on the background. However, I can definitely say that the sound of the war horn would be the power of howl; it would be the combination Of all the voices of the wild. As for the description/what it is, it is...

(pasted from my charrie description )

Her ancient warhorn. It is inlaid with chipped enamel in a interlocking knot pattern, banded with iron. The opening of the horn is carved into the shape of a howling wolf, its eyes hard pieces of crystal . Though the horn no longer is working, the sound it made was said to be the call of the wild. The body is oak, engraved with runes. She carries it around her waist using a strip of hemp rope. Not leather, since she is against animal cruelty.

The day her mother gave her the ancient heirloom of her people, the warhorn, the priestess promised that her child would not only excel in the FaFA, she would be the one to bring the downfall of the Guild. Along with the fact that her Mother's bloodline directly descended from the Wolf-Maidens of the North, this was a lot of pressure for a  mere child to bare

And the rest isn't relevant. Maybe we can build a story from the bits and pieces of our backgrounds?

Thanks for replying to my previous post! :)

so, Neminem, your saying that like the power of wing is a hard white instrument, the power of howl could be the Warhorn? I think that sounds good, but my Dad would still be the Guardian, right?
