POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

POWER ORIGIN IDEAS

This thread's purpose is to contain theories and stories about how the Powers came about and what they could be- besides the Powers of Wing and Claw. I'll post my stories as soon as I come up with them.

Admin: After a week or two, we will create a poll so everyone can vote on which origin story they like best! We might even combine more than one story.

Ya I like your idea, maybe the power of hoof could replace the power of tail?

Kasumi, that's amazing! You're Scylla, right? That is just plain awesome!

I still want credit, though, for the idea. :(

Does Xiaolong have anything to do with a dragon?

I'm actualy Chinese in real life. Xiaolong translates to "Little Dragon" if I did it right. This is because one xiaolong means little dragn, while another may translate into steamed.

Yes. Thanks! Of course you'll get credit, I just haven't gotten around to that yet. I think you can guess what the unicorn mare's tear turns into. I can't figure out what the Power of Hoof's object will be. I've been trying to create an analogy based off of the Power of Wing and its item, but I don't know what the Power of Claw's object is so the analogy is useless without something to compare it to. I was thinking maybe a shoe or a different instrument.

Moonshadow: I never really said anything about the other powers, but yeah, maybe all the powers could be trapped in an object by someone/smth? And I will think of how your dad can be involved. OH MY GOSH I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING.

The powers were first created by the animals, (winged wolf, Phoenix, whatever we want-we will think of something) before the humans came. When the humans arrived, they treated the native animals with great respect. However, their greed and thirst for power and knowledge soon overcame the alliance between the two species, and they took away the powers using force. Once the their power source was taken, the animals evolved into  a lesser state of what they once were, and they slunk away to the far corners of the wild, where the world was still untouched by the industry of the humans that had so cruelly betrayed them. There in the shadows they waited, honing their anger and plotting their vengeance for the time in which they would take back what was rightfully theirs, and once again be the great beings of old. Meanwhile, the humans who had so roughly stolen the powers were having a hard time harnessing them. What they didn't understand was that, in order to possess the Powers, they had to learn to coexist with Nature, from which the powers once came. Frustrated and impatient, they eventually trapped them into (number) objects, which they kept away until the day they would use them. Years became decades, decades to centuries, and in the blink of the eye, the once legendary Powers became myth, the objects that held them scattered to the four corners of the earth. One by one, outcasts and schemers, people of once-great bloodlines brought low, orphans and alchemists, they each found the objects and took them for their own, passing it down their family for generations and generations, until...

And we can think of the specifics (the names of the objects, how many powers their are, who found the objects, and what animals created what power) later.

@ Storm...

High five! I'm Chinese, too! And yes, Xiaolong is a dragon, that's why I named him Xiaolong.

But how would the mythical creatures be summoned? I think they should all be instruments, so animals could summon them by blowing into the instruments and making a particular noise that gives them the breath of life and imprisons them, allowing them to walk the earth again. Does anyone like my backround story?

My post on the background of the Powers may have seemed like it was meant only for Moonshadow, but I would love it if others read it and gave me feedback!

PS Admins. Why did you change a word into GOSH?

I don't post anything that may be interpreted as profanity.

er...I just want to ask, so I won't make the same mistake in the future but, how is 'Gods' offensive?

[English_Teacher_Mode:Activated] I think it may offend the gods more than it does the Admins.  In saying "My ____" you are saying that they are yours by using the possessive determiner "my." They are not in your possession, or anyone's.

However, Scylla, "my" can be used this way, too: "My leader" to refer to someone I might follow or idolize but not necessarily possess.

Thank you Scylla, for showing me another perspective on the matter. As admins said, it definitely wasn't meant as a possessive. Sorry for causing such a disturbance on this thread.

I shall now go back to writing...

Generally there is only one god with a capital G. Mulitiple beings are lowercase gods.
