Fairytale RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Fairytale RP!

Fairytale RP!

So Tovah had once made something like this, and I miss it, so I'm going to recreate it. I was thinking that you could either do a twist on a classic fairytale hero or heroine, or make your own. They go to a private high school to learn to fight aliens.

I'm going to go with the same character I had before.

Name: Gretel Rose

Appearence; Chin-length golden hair that curves in on one side and
curves out on the other. Dark, sapphire-blue eyes, slightly pink cheeks,
pale, small, at 5 ft. Commonly wears long sleeve camo shirt with denim
capris and lace up hunting boots. Or jeans, black t-shirt with Slay Your Own Dragons and a sword
on fire, black hunting boots. Oftenwears a cap. Whether navy blue or
camo.

Personality; Strong, quiet, observant, hard core, ready to fight. Loyal, open, and cheerful around her friends.

Story; So, this is a Hansel and Gretel in the modern world. Southern
girl! Her parents ditched her in the backwoods of Tennessee, in the
Great Smokey Mountains. A hunter thought she and her brother game and
accidentally shot him. (Explains what happens to Hansel.)

Power; She has a strong sense of direction, can see in the dark. Also can channel people's feelings well. Knows what they're feeling.

Weapon: Anything she can throw or shoot, except long spears. She can
throw knives, shoot a gun or bow. Whatever she can get her hands on.

So what do ya'll think? Good or bad idea?

Gretel ~

I gritted my teeth when the kid in front of me smirked at my detention sentence. If Mr. Mundane hadn't kept him after class, I might have decked him. Another problem I had. Controling my temper.

The next class was as boring as the last. I wondered if we were really science experiments to test how many different ways you can kill a teenager. But I think I would have taken Mr. Mundane over Mr. Farber, who's class not only bored me, but made me want to vomit. Which I nearly did at some of his examples. Suddenly a red light above the door started flashing. Mr. Faber stopped midsentence. We all jumped up from out seats, immediately ready for action. Every so often, the principals, twelve in all, would randomly give out challenges for the students.

We all rushed to our lockers. I typed in my passcode, and the door swung open revealing a room the size of a large walk-in closet. I threw off the skirt, blouse, patent leather slippers, and kid gloves that made up my school uniform. I threw on a camo shirt, denim capris, lace up boots, and a set of fingerless gloves. I slipped up next to Snow as we and fifteen other students hurried down the hall to the gymnasium.

Ash~

I hurried to Mr. Farber's class--the bell was about to ring. Just in time, I slid into my desk.

Mr. Farber's class was some exotic type of a Heath class. I didn't know why I might ever need to know what would happen to me if I picked thing off of the bottom of my desk and possibly ate them, we weren't four year olds after all!, but I soaked up all of the information anyways.

Really, I thought, it would acutally be a good skill, to know how to help someone if they've got hard gum stuck in their throught--hard gum, or something else. Mr. Farber told us the procesure in a shrill voice, and as I made a note of it in my note book, an even shriller alarm went off.

Oh great. Another challenge.

I was not particullarily fond of the challenges our twelve principals dealt out, but by the way my peers rushed out of the classroom, you'd think it was a life or death emergancy. I jogged to my locker--not wanting to be late--and opened it to enter the small room I still marveled at. I changed into some more comfortable-fitting clothes that would be good for any type of physical challnge, and put on my boots. I grabbed my belt with my sword tied to it and strapped it on. I hoped they wouldn't object to weapondry--they usually didn't, but you never knew.

I looked over at the big hat sitting on a shelf in the closet. I was torn between wearing it or not. In the end, I decided not to. I hurried out of my locker, and ran after my peers, already on their way to the lunchroom.

I'm really excited about this RP! I maybe waited for an hour or so for the Admins to approve the last comment!

BHR, do you want to write a story with me about your character (Gretel) with my character (Jasmine)? I'll begin it, but first I'm going to write about Jasmine herself...

Name: Jasmine Noelle

Appearance: olive skin, dark thick hair, bright brown eyes, slim and medium-height, wears long flowy robes and dresses with sandals

Personality: strong and fierce when fighting. Is amazing with weapons and a fantastic fighter. However, when she is not fighting, she is warm and kind with her friends.

Story: So Jasmine is younger in this story, around Gretel's age. She is well-known and has many friends in her private school. She doesn't know Gretel very well, but feels as though they would make a good team together. Does very well in school and is naturally much-liked. But she hides an incredible secret...

Power: She can control people's moods and actions - meaning that she can possess anyone or anything. She can also turn invisible when she says "Aladdin." However, she does not know this.

Weapon: Bow and arrow (and very good at archery, too!)

I'll start writing now...

"Hey, Jazz! Goin' to second period? Gosh, I despise history. Mr. Lenart always makes everything so boring," my best friend, Lila from the Twelve Dancing Princesses complains loudly. I catch sight of Mr. Lenart himself standing next to his classroom, waiting for the arrival of his pupils.

I glare at Lila. "He's right there," I hiss as I make my way through the fairytale characters in my path, struggling to get to their rooms.

Lila stifles a giggle with a tiny snort and ducks into the room. I roll my eyes, racing after her to my desk.

"Excuse me, who are you?" Mr. Lenart demands as a girl - I think her name's Greta - struts into the classroom like she owns the place.

"The name's Gretel." Oh. "Chill. I just need to return this book to...Jasmine Noelle? Is she in this class?" Gretel puts her hands on her hips as if I'm the one holding things up.

Mr. Lenart's eyes dart over to me expectantly. I feel my face burn red.

"Yes, I'm Jasmine," I answer quietly.

Gretel tosses the book onto my desk.

"Goodbye, Gretel," Mr. Lenart says uncertainly as the girl saunters away.

Sheesh.

That's all I have so far!

@ Nora: Sure!

Gretel ~

I hurried along next to Snow.

"Gretel," a voice said behind me. I turned around to see Mr. Farber behind me, holding a large book.

"I need you to return this to Jasmine Noelle. She's in history class now. I know your way to a mission, but it'll only take a second and it's on your way." I nodded, hiding a grin. I loved having erands to go to random teacher's classes. They were so fun to rile up, I'll admit.

I hurried forward, but slowed as I neared Mr. Lenart's class.

"Excuse me, but who are you?" He demanded as I strode into the room. I flash a cocky grin. "The name's Gretel," I said. "Chill, I just need to return this book to...Jasmine Noelle? Is she in this class?" I ask innocently, but with a hint of sarcasm. Mr. Lenart looks over at a girl whom I assume is Jasmine. She blushes, and says, "Yes, I'm Jasmine."

I toss the book onto her desk. "Goodbye Gretel," says Mr. Lenart as I saunter away. As soon as I'm away from Mr. Lenart's room, I break down into vicious giggles. That never get's old. Then I hurry on toward the gymnasium to catch up with everyone else. I slip in just as one of the principal's assistants (they never come out except for the first and last day of school) came forward with our assignment. I held my breath.

"You will break into the school basement, crack the vault we have placed for you, and as a unit, bring back what is inside. That is all." The assistant promptly turned, and walked stiffly offstage. It sounded simple enough, but I knew it wasn't. There was always, always, a secret test. We all filed back out of the gymnasium, ready for some action.

@BHR - Cool!! I'll continue.

Lila leans over in her chair, wobbling on one leg, and taps my desk. I whip my head around.

"Who was that?" Lila demands, disgusted.

"Some girl named Gretel," I reply, cupping my hand around my chin to cover up my fading red cheeks.

"What was it all about? I was talking to Snow."

"She was returning a book." I don't want to start any gossip, so I keep what I say as simple as possible. "I must have misplaced it."

My eyes refuse to meet the book sitting on my desk. I don't even know which one it is. I read like crazy, so I don't really keep track.

"How rude she was to our dear Mr. Lenart," Snow chimes in, giggling along with Lila.

"Jazz, what class do you have next?" Lila inquires casually.

"Mr. Mundane..."

"Oh, gosh. I feel bad for you. My sister, Elle, has him and says he's simply horrible," Lila says sympathetically.

I nod. He really is horrible. It's the most boring thing on earth.

"Class! I apologize for the run-in with Gretel Rose, but we must get started. Who completed the homework assignment last night?"

I raise my hand proudly, along with most of the other class. Lila doesn't, but Snow reaches her hand up high and grins smugly.

As Mr. Lenart talks boringly for the rest of the class, I think about the girl - Gretel. We would be amazing fighting together as a team. Hmm...

Elle~

I ran to a locker, swinging it open into a full-sized beauty parlor. I threw off my uniform and on my dress. I tore off my gloves and flexed my finger nails, smiling as I saw the poison tubes show themselves for a moment. Then I took off again, running to the basement.

"What's our assignment?" I asked breathlessly, catching up with Gretel. I was late, so I didn't hear it.

Gretel ~

"What's our assignment?" Elle asks running up breathlessly.

"Sneak into the basement and hack the school vault," I reply as we head down the main hall. Elle makes a face. "So what is really waiting for us?" She asked. I shrugged.

"Who knows?" I replied, filing down the stairs that led to the basement. The air got colder the farther we went. We finally reached the bottom, though there were no windows, so we had to switch to fluorescent lights. The basement was huge, consisting over concrete halls joing different storage rooms. The "lights" didn't create much light, making already existing shadows even blacker. An ominous feeling hung down here. We didn't say anything, like it was universal understanding that no one should speak.  Jamie, a tall guy who was usually just naturally in charge, made a signal for us to split up. Half goes one way, the other half goes another. Elle, Snow, Ash, a few others and I started off. I somehow found myself at the front. How this happened, I don't know, but I was particularly pleased. If anything happened, I'd be the guinea pig.

Suddenly, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. What the...

"DUCK!" I screamed, and everyone hit the floor as the lights above explodes, sending out heatwaves and shattered glass which rained down on top of us and we were plunged into darkness.

~Rose Red~

When I walked into Mr. Mundane's room, I sighed. Don't misunderstand me, I love school, but Mr. Mundane's class was awful. He always gives lengthy boring lectures on the most useless information. For instance, yesterday he gave a speech on 'The Art of Yawning' and the day before that 'The Life Saving Knot'. I mean, none of these are worthwhile.

I looked at the dull black board and saw today's topic on toothpaste and survival in the desert. Shesh! How does he ever come up with these topics! I walked over to my assigned seat and pulled out yesterday's assignment. I sit by this kid named Ash, who actually like Mr. Mundane's lectures. I know this because he takes notes on them! Snow and Gretel sit behind me. They like to talk during the lectures and I definitely don't blame them. I like to stare outside during these lectures, or observe other people. People are so interesting!

After the lecture and assignment, my class ran out of the room ready to go to their next class. I had Ms. Berna for Earth and It's Creatures, which was ten hundred times better than Mr. Mundane's required class. As we exit, a shrill alarm goes off and lights flash. A challenge!

I hurry to my locker and type in the passcode. To my delight a small room appears behnd the closed door. I scramble in to get into my challenge clothes. My outfit consisted of a stretchy pair of black pants and a white shirt. I debate whether or not I want to wear my red cloak. I looked in the mirror. The outfit looked a lot better with the cloak. I opened the door and filed in with the sea of students heading to the gym.

"Jasmine! Jasmine!

"What is it?" I demand, concerned at Elle's wild face, walking to my next class.

"A challenge!" Elle shrieks, and Lila bounds up next to her.

"She's right. The siren went off!"

"It did?!" I must have fallen asleep in Mr. Mundane's class and not heard it.

"Yes!" Elle screams. "Go to your locker, like, NOW!"

"Okay, okay!" I yell as the two sisters rush me to my locker.

I punch in the passcode and a large room appears. I dash in and throw on my silver battlesuit.

"Where's my bow and arrow?!" I scream.

"How should I know?!" Lila yells back. "Hurry or we'll be too late for the challenge!"

"Ugh!" I scramble towards my dresser and yank the drawers in and out, searching for my most prized weapon. My eyes finally fall on it and I tear it out.

"RUN!" Elle shrieks.

We sprint out of the room, together.

Ready to fight.

Gretel ~

I cautiously look up. My face and hands are cut up and bleeding, but other than that, I'm fine.

"Everyone okay?" I call back. No answer. "Hello?" I call again. This time I hear a scuffle, and a voice answers, "Yeah, I'm okay, who else is here?" I recognize it as Rose Red.

"I am," Snow says.

"Yeah, so am I," grumbles the guy in front of Snow and I in class, Ash, I think his was.

"Me too," says a vaguely familiar voice.

"And me," says another. I stand up, trying to feel my way around. I kick something with the front of my toe, and kneel down to find it.

"Aha!" I say pleased, flicking on the flashlight. I point around the room, doing a head count. Rose Red, Snow, Ash, and the girl I'd returned the book, Jasmine, to and her friend Elle.

"Great, so everyone else is gone?" Rose asks, looking around the room. I point the light straight up so as to provide an even light.

"Yeah, I guess so," I say uneasily. This seriously wasn't cool. I blink as line of blood slips off my eyebrow, and rub it away. I probably had blood smeared across my face, but oh well.

"Well, we're not getting out of here till we finish the mission," I say with a sigh. I wasn't enamored with the idea, but I wasn't freaking out either. Unless of course they decided to flood the basement, which wasn't unheard of.

"Well, which way?" Jasmine asks. She was right, we were at an intersection of six different hallways, each leading off into a maze of other equally dark corridors.

So what next?

submitted by Blonde Heroines Rule, age classified, Fairytale High
(November 18, 2013 - 10:09 pm)

"Well, which way?" I demand as Gretel paces back and forth, sighing and wiping her forehead like crazy. I point to the pitch-black narrow corridors leading to unknown places at our feet. There's absolutely no way to tell which is which.

"We'll have to scope out the hallways until we find the right maze. Let's see, there are six paths and six of us, so each person goes into one of them. Does anyone have a flashlight or something?" Gretel asks.

"I do," I announce, holding up my lucky pen I keep safe in my left pocket at all times. I flip on a tiny light that illuminates one of the blank hallways.

"Okay..." I can tell that Gretel is frustrated. "We only have one light. How are we going to do this?"

I whip out a note from one of the principals. "This says that the path we want to take will have a single yellow stripe on one wall." I frown. "Weird, but that's what we need to look for."

"Seems like you're running this mission," Gretel comments coolly.

I narrow my eyes. "No, I'm not. It's not my fault you weren't prepared."

"You know what? I don't have time for this. None of us do." Gretel shakes her head, like she can shake the argument away. "What we need to do is find the corridor with the yellow stripe on it."

"We can all go together," I add. "All we need to do is look at each path and see if there's a yellow stripe." I shrug. "Simple."

"No, it's not that easy," Gretel argues, shaking her head again wildly. "Missions are not easy. Being lost is not easy. I learned it the hard way. That's what got Hansel -" She cuts herself off, wiping her eye like she was crying.

"Gretel -" I begin, concerned.

"No!" she interjects. "Just stop, okay? We need to complete the mission. So stop it."

I shut my mouth tight, confused and hurt.

WHAT NEXT???

(November 19, 2013 - 3:40 pm)

Is it irony that I haven't been able to post because I've been drawing a comic staring Ash? I believe so. So, Ash. Again.

Ash~

Kids were arging about taking over the mission or whatever. I ignored them.

Yellow line, I thought. Use the information you were given. Lemon taught you that.

I paused. Lemon. Just don't think about Lemon. Or Griffin.

I felt my way against the wall. Really, it wasn't that dark! And since the lines of different color going off into all the different cooridors were reflective, it took me only a moment to find the yellow one.

"Found it," I shouted at everyone. They looked over. One girl, I don't know her name but I think it might be Jasmine, points the light over at the wall.

"I don't see it," she said.

"It's a thin line," I said, irritated. It was almost blinding to me, why couldn't they all see it. The group walked over and Jasmine pointed her flashlight at the spot I was pointing to.

"He's right," she said. "There's definitly a line here. Though I don't know how you saw it in the dark, much less knew it was yellow," she added darkly.

I didn't comment. It wasn't that dark in here.

Darkness. I know what that looks like.

Just don't think about it, I urged myself. Too late. The thoughts of the darkness and its effects filled my mind. I trembled slightly. Suddenly, I didn't want to be here. I didn't want to be Ash, I just wanted to go home, go back to ten years ago, the day I could still remember. As much as I didn't want to. And the nickname that would remind me forever.

"Are you okay?" Gretel asked me, as the group started off down the cooridor.

I tried to shake the wave of emotion that had clouded me off. "Yeah," I said. "I'm fine."

Not fine. I thought. Not fine at all.

Gretel ~

I could tell something was bothering Ash. I felt a surge of emotions that I knew weren't mine. That was something else about me. I could somehow tell what people were feeling. But in this case, I couldn't tell what he was feeling exactly, I just knew it was strong. But then again, I wasn't doing well on this mission either. I hadn't meant to be quite so snarky to Jasmine, but I hated the feeling of being lost. Of not knowing where to go, or what to do. Like with Hansel. But I shoved the memories away. Despite the flashlight, the darkness was overwhelming, seeming to be even darker than usual at the edges of the pool of light. But somehow, this didn't bother me too much now that my eyes had adjusted. For some reason, I'd never had too much of a problem seeing in the dark. And usually, I was good at finding my way around. But something about this mission was disorienting. I couldn't put my finger on it, but all I knew was I wanted out of here as soon as possible.

We followed the winding yellow line, going around corner and through doorways and room. Occasionally it would thicken out, or became nearly impossible to see. Eventually, it just stopped altogether.

"Great, what now?" Rose Red asked. We stood in the middle of a hallway, inbetween two doorways.

"Keep going, I guess."

As we started again, I realized we were on a slant, heading down hill. It also grew colder.

"What was that?" Elle asked, stopping suddenly. I looked back at her confused.

"What?"

"I... something was moving," she said quickly.

I peered ahead. I saw a flash of movement, something big. Really big.

Sorry! I haven't posted in awhile, have I?

~Snow~

"What was that?" Elle asked, stopping suddenly. Gretel looked back at her confused.

"What?"

"I... something was moving," she said quickly.

I tried to look ahead, but it was to dark. Then someone - I think it was Rose - gasped. Then I saw a flash of movement, something big. Really big.

"No," I muttered. "They wouldn't dare . . ."

A large flash of flames burt up infront of us, and now we could all see the obstacle. It wasn't just any old obstacle, either.

A large fireball came zooming towards us.

"Scatter," I yelled, and my classmates, friends, and I all dived to cover.

The dragon - it wasn't a regular dragon, it was a firebreathing dragon, as we could easily see and feel - towered above us.

"Great. What do we do now?" I muttered.

"Elle, duck!" I scream at the top of my lungs, frantically trying to get my friend's attention.

Elle seems to hear me, but doesn't answer. She stands, frozen, gazing at the enormous dragon huffing flames at us.

What is she doing?! I squeeze the light switch and hold it down on my pen, attempting to use the light without letting the monster see me.

"What the...?!" Gretel is whispering fiercely to a guy named Ash.

Ash shakes his head and begins to say something, but the darkness covers his face.

"Elle!" I hiss, scrambling on my hands and knees. The cold earth presses into my battlesuit.

Great, just great. Here I am, trying to save my friend from burning to death, while the rest of the kids are staring at me.

Why aren't they helping?! I reach Elle's feet and slowly stand behind her, dragging her across the ground. Then something really weird happens. Elle clatters to the ground, still frozen.

And then it hits me. The dragon's eyes turned her to stone! I try to look away from the dragon, but instead I peer into his eyes. Nice going, Jasmine. Say goodbye to your life.

And then I'm frozen.
