Harry Potter RP

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Harry Potter RP

Harry Potter RP

I recently watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and felt the urge to have a "Tri-Wizard Tournament" RP but this time with a twist so that not only three people participate. This is my idea. Instead of it being a Tri-Wizard Tournament, it's a Multi-Wizard Tournament. That means that the champions don't only come from Beau-Baton, Durmstrang or Hogwarts but they can also come from some wizarding school that you made up. The tournament itself will take place at Hogwarts.

I'll post my character later. Please join! I think this RP could be pretty fun. Plus, I don't think we've had an HP RP in a while.

One more important question: should this be before, during or after Harry?

So pretty much we have Dean Thomas or Draco Malfoy as Headmaster?

Astrid--

Our Multi-Wizard team ends up in a bit of an improper pile in front of another pack of competitors.  They must be the Japanese school I heard was coming.

Lagynede screeches.  I extract my broom handle from her cage and set her upright.  I stand up and dust myself off, wanting to shed my coat.  It's more humid in England than I heard.

Ms. Chang discusses something with what looks like the headmistress of the Japanese school.  She says something to her students.  They look at us a bit suspiciously.  Rumors can get to Asia, too.  And note, we are NOT where the Dark Lord's minions are planning an uprising.  We've heard that said about any number of schools.

"So they're the ones with the Death Eaters back at home," Ulrik mumbles to me.

"Shut up," I say. "Has anyone actually told you that?"

"No," he says. "But I know they're not at Snow Queen."

"No kidding," I say.  I take up my broom and sling it over my shoulder.  I see brooms with some of the boys of the Japanese school.  Maybe it was useless to bring my broom.  Anyway, we have to have something to do, might as well play Quidditch.

"Shall we begin moving along?" Ms. Chang comes to the lead of both of our groups.  Some of the students are keeping their distance from us.

I go up next to a girl on the edge of the group. "Hi, I'm Astrid," I say by way of introduction.

"I'm Kyary," she says.

"Well, it's awfully nice to meet you," I say. "Now that there's finally a Multi-Wizard again."

"It has been a while," she admits.

"Although with the Death Eater sightings you hear from the news all that time, it'll be a long time before there's another one," Ulrik butts in.

"No one asked you!" I snap.

"No need to get defensive, Grimsenn," he says cockily.  What I'm wondering is how he knows my last name...

"Please do not touch any of the gargoyles and grotesques as we go inside the castle," Ms. Chang says at the head of the group.

"Why would we?" Ulrik asks to the world in general.

"My gosh, Ulrik, it's a safety precaution, you never know in strange buildings," I say.  He's become awfully annoying all of a sudden.

"Said Astrid Grimsenn, the girl who managed to barge into a meeting of trolls and end up with a broken jaw." Ulrik says with a smirk.

Oh.  That thing.  It's true.  Last year I was in a bit of a scrape with some trolls.  My jaw was sore for weeks.  It's nothing to worry about.

I think the last event should still be the maze. A fun scene to describe, and a nice traditional last event.

I vote that all the characters "win" when they get led off into the maze on a trail that illusions their perfect environment. They face their greatest fears, maybe, and then are led to the end. In the end, they may all have to sacrifice something.

But it's cool to make someone win, too! Not my characters.

Cynthia*

The train screeched to a halt, rainbow colored smoke rings blowing out the back. It was hard to tell what time it was, because of the lack of windows in the underground subway.

I was shaken awake gently by my reading buddy in school. A cute 4 year old girl with stiff red-haired pigtails named Anita. I found her in my face, and gasped.

"Anita!" I breathed. "Where did you come from?!" Anita grinned through missing teeth.

"I climbed aboard when no one was looking. Are you going to win?"

I was now fully awake, and alert. I sprang up, grabbing my carry-on and Anita's hand. I bent down, and said, "We need to take you to Miss Victoria. You're not supposed to be here, sweetie." Anita looked into my face, and kept smiling. "Will I get to stay?" she asked. "Maybe."

Miss Victoria stood over us, smiling grimly. "This is very bad, Anita. You shouldn't have come. You know the Tournament is only for the older kids. Cynthia, I believe it must be your job to take care of Anita on the trip. Watch out for her very carefully."

I nodded, and led Anita by the hand to gather with the other kids. I was a little relieved. I felt very awkward and out of place. I was glad at least to have a friend.

I got my luggage from the back of the train, and got my teady bear out to carry. I assumed he'd had enough stuffy suitcase air.

Miss Victoria gathered us together, wand in hand.

"Your instructions are simple. Be polite and dainty, and on your toes. Remember to be friendly to everyone, and make plenty of friends! We will leave the subway tunnel, and be greeted by a wonderful Hogwarts headmistress named Cho Chang. You may call her Miss Chang, and will give her your utmost respect."

We walked aways up the tunnel, and up a flight of stairs to surrface in a dark, ancient train house, that looked like it had been vacant for a million years. Dust and cobwebs filled the empty spaces and corners. Most of the studenst scrunched up their noses at the musty, damp smell.

But we were soon beyond the gloomy shack, and out in a drizzling rain. I witch in a hooded robe with gold trimming was waiting for us ten yards away, under a tree.

We made our way towards her. She stuck out her hand for Miss Victoria to shake, and said, "Welcome, everyone! I am Cho Chang, Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcaft and Wizardy. Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!! We hope you may find yourselves at home here."

She ushered us to several wagons suspended in air, saying, "We're giving you a Hogwarts style welcome tonight, due to the heavy weather conditions." After we were settled in the comfortbale, worn seats of the coatches, I realized how tired I was. I tried to stay awake, desperately wanting to see Hogwarts. But the last thing I saw before I drifted off was a tall, grey castle against the stormy sky.

I leaned against the railing, watching the students from other schools file in. It seemed most of Hogwarts had turned out to see it.

"Any cute ones?" Susan asked, strolling up as the crowds started to thin.

"Ugh!" I groaned, banging my forehead the rail. "Is that all you think about?"

Susan shrugged.

"Students, head to the Great Hall," a Professor said, striding by. Susan laughed giddily.

"Come on," she said, dragging me along. I groaned and pulled my cap down over my eyes as I stumbled along.

"Aren't you excited?" Susan demanded, pulling me into the throng of students.

"For the games? Yes. For the whole 'being put on display for people judge as we present the schools'? No. Not at all."

"Oh please, it won't be like that," Susan insisted.

I snorted. "Oh sure, for you it won't. But no matter what I do, I always feel like I'm being judged."

"That's just your paranoia."

I shrugged. Probably.

This was totally pointless, but there ya go. So, guess we should vote for Headmaster? I guess it's between Draco and Dean.

Mathis~

We get on a bus to take us from the airport to a train station. "Platform nine and three quarters," Professor Cadge reads. "That's where we're headed."

"Doesn't the train only come at the beginning and end of the school year?" Rosa questions. She might be feeling time lag, but at least she did her reaserch on Hogwarts.

"They're making an exception."

"But there's only three of us," Caden argues.

"So?"

"Aren't the other schools going to have grander entrances?" Rosa adds.

Cadge sighs. "Do you think we can afford a grand entrance? We're a small wizarding school from Minnesota with three students and one Professor. OF COURSE the other schools will have grander entrances!"

"I bet Mat agrees with us!" Caden argues. I ignore them, in fact, I don't even bother to tell him not to call me Mat. I'm still thinking about the man at the airport. I hadn't mentioned him to Cadge or the others, they'd just think I was paranoid. Or more so than they already thought I was.

I didn't mention how the man was sitting two seats behind us on the bus, either.

"Ah! We're here!" Cadge exclaims. Honestly, the whole bus knows this is his stop. So much for security.

It seems to be the man with the sharp suit's stop too. He follows us off.

"The headmaster said he'd only send one passenger engine with the train, to save energy, presumably," Cadge blabbers. He grins as we near a brick wall. "Follow me, kids."

The station is mostly empty, entirely with the exception of the man with the sharp suit, who is watching us from behind another platform. I seem to be the only one to notice him, as Cadge simply dives into the wall and disappears.

"Cool!" Rosa exclaims. She grins and runs into the wall herself. Caden follows, a similar look of glee on his face.

I am alone in the train station eighth the man in the sharp suit. "I know you're there," I say, before I run headfirst into the wall...

...and come out on the other side. The rest of the Cabinet of Irregulars attendants are slowly boarding the train.

"Get on!" I yell at them. "Start the train! Start the train!"

Rosa and Caden look at me for a second and then scramble into the passenger car behind the Professor. I leap in after them. "Start the train!" I scream again.

Because in that split second that Rosa and Caden took to get onto the train, I know what the man in the sharp suit was doing.

Running, headfirst into a wall.

...

"Mr. Silver!" Cadge lectures me. "There was no reason to scare anyone! It's not like we're going to be late!"

I make no comment.

"Yeah, Mat," says Caden. "Why'd you scare Rosa and me like that?"

"Why are you calling me Mat? I thought I told you not to call me that."

"Well--"

"Children! Stop arguing!" Cadge yells. He's right I guess. There's no reason to argue. We got away from the man in the sharp suit. "Look," he adds in a melodramatic whisper. "Hogwarts."

We can see the looming castle in the distance. I have to admit, it's beautiful. The grounds are littered with large things that could be anything from dragons to carriages that the other schools came in. It's nothing like the small, rented windowless room all of my studies of magic have taken place in.

"This tournament thing is going to be SO awesome," says Caden, echoing my very thoughts.

Sorry it's a tad bit long.

Wow . . . this is my first time on the chatterbox and i'm loving it! Anyway, here is my character:

Name: Maxwell Boor (though he goes by Max).

Age: 14.

School: English Academy of Magic and Sorcery.

Appearance: Max is tall, about 5"5 and skinny. He has hazel eyes and light brown hair. His nose is fairly long and slightly tweaked after a bad encounter with a bludger.

Personality: Max resides in Ravenclaw house, and is among the smartest in his year. He dreams of someday becoming an Auror. He is known to be loyal to his friends and fierce towards his enemies.

He plays seeker on his quidditch team, and is remarkably good at it. His is also an extrordinary duelist.

In my humble opinion, this Multi-Wizard Tournament should be held berfore Harry Potter's time, as the rules may be changed after The Goblet of Fire.

Thanks for the awesome RP!

Astrid--

"You will be sitting with Gryffindor House, just squeeze on to the benches over on the end." Ms. Chang says to us.  We're the only school that's come without a Headmistress or Headmaster.  Ms. Chang leads the Japanese school over to another part of the huge stone hall.  Somehow, everyone's luggage has been taken somewhere.  Well, I assume it's a magic spell they've thought of using.

"Oh my god!" A girl with bright red hair says. "There is a Death Eater sitting next to me!"  She scoots away.

"God, Weasley, get used to it." A boy across from her whispers, eyeing the eight of us who have crowded together at the end of the table. "They're going to be here for a while."

"Well, I'm not sitting next to one.  Delly, you sit next to it." the red-head says, pushing another girl to where she was sitting and moving away.

"What?" I ask Ulrik. "Is this seriously a thing?"

"Apparently." he says.

"It's sense of jewellery needs improvement." this Weasley whispers to the girl who she called Delly.

I try and remember what earrings I'm wearing.  It doesn't matter.  I think they're the skulls with the snake winding around it.

"Well your pronoun use needs improvement!" Ulrik says. "Although, admittedly, that wasn't the most diplomatic choice."

"I finding that out." I say.  I mean, they're not the exact copy of a Dark Mark.  I could have tattooed a snake on my arm.  I do have some class.

"Welcome, welcome, everyone.  I will say, it is a very good sign that there is a Multi-Wizard Tournament.  Admittedly, in my day, it was a Tri-Wizard tournament, but that went out the window pretty quickly, as you all know." a man on the stage stands up. There is polite applause and chuckling throughout the auditorium.  The Hogwarts students stand.

"That's the Headmaster, you ninnies!" Delly whispers as she starts clapping.  We Snow Queen students quickly stand up and start applauding, admittedly a bit like robots.

So this is the Headmaster.

Headmaster Vote: I vote for Draco, too. So that is 3 votes for Draco and 4 people who have not yet voted. Those who have not voted, vote now! Okay, the word "vote" has been written too many times in this paragraph.

Events: First, we should decide on the number of events. I would say not more than five but I'm fine with anything. Here are the different event possibilities: Quidditch, Magical Creatures, Labyrinth, Underwater. Did I miss something and is there anything you guys want to add?

I will post soon but at the moment I have to work on my debate. -.-

I guess I'll post.

Kyary-

My school followed the lead as the Hogwarts students and Snow Queen School students stood up. The man was shockingly pale with bright blonde hair that had been slicked back with gel. His face had hardly any lines but you could tell by his hands and eyes that he was old.

"I would like to welcome all the schools that are participating in the tournament." He cleared his throat shortly, then proceeded to name each school by name, having them stand up as he called them out. "...and of course, The Cabinet of Irregulars Private School." The hall was silent as everyone peered around but it appeared that The Cabinet of Irregulars Private School was not there. The headmaster cleared his throat again. "I am Draco Malfoy, headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

Suddenly the huge door the hall burst open and four figures appeared - three students and a teacher.

"Ah, there you are." Headmaster Malfoy didn't hide the relief in his voice. "The Cabinet of Irregulars Private School, ladies and gentlemen!" A few people clapped but mostly there was a lot of murmuring.

"Can a school really be that small?" asked the girl named Donnie.

Astrid and Ulrik spoke in a fast language that sounded something like Swedish. Then, out of the blue, Astrid turned to me. "Do you know if that is the entire school?" I was shocked that she talked to me so freely. People normaly overlooked me because I was so quiet. "I really do not know."

Ulrik leaned over her. "I think it's everyone. I mean it is called Cabinet of Irregulars, right?" He laughed and the girl nudged him.

So... Death Eater issues.

Astrid--

He looks evil.  That's my gut reaction.  Although, propaganda has probably skewed things a little.  When the news reached us up in Snow Queen, everyone was reading English newspapers, Hogwarts owls and Snow Queen falcons darkening the skies.  That was just before the school year started this summer, but the Quidditch team was at school already, training.

"And so," the Headmaster's voice pinches the air, "let's feast, while we are all still... on speaking terms."

Everyone sits down on the benches and food appears on platters in the middle of the tables.  Everyone serves themselves and starts eating.  After a few minutes, Ulrik starts talking.

"Is it just me, or does having a Multi-Wizard tournament at this time seem a bit of a desperate measure?" he says.

"In what way?" I ask.

"Well, there have been Death Eater sightings around almost every wizarding school recently.  And the only ones where there haven't been any aren't here.  Except Durmstrang." Ulrik says. "What better way to get all the Headmasters out of their schools and have all the best students in one place to pick off or turn over to Death Eaters?"

"You over think things too much.  Then why didn't Headmistress Danielsson come?" I ask.

"Why was she so nervous before we left?" Ulrik retorts. "Something fishy is happening."

"Well, I hope it's just the soup." The Headmaster says.  He's leaning over in between me and Ulrik. "I'm Headmaster Malfoy, I just wanted to introduce myself to the fine students of Snow Queen Scandinavian School for Witches and Wizards.  Enjoy your time here at Hogwarts."

His white-blonde eyebrows twitch upward and he smiles politely in a way that just looks more like a creepy smirk.

"Hi!" Girls from across the table are waving at him.  Headmaster Malfoy looks up and smiles.

"And I hope to see both-" He looks pointedly at Ulrik and me. "In the tournament."  He stands up and walks away.

Ulrik looks at me, his eyes wide and nostrils flared.

I laugh nervously. "God, Ulrik.  He's clearly joking around."

Ulrik looks deadly serious at me. "He was looking at you.  At YOU!  Not me, I just happened to be next to you."

"Yeah, he probably needs a hair transplant." I roll my eyes. "Not like I'd give it to him."

"You're insane." Ulrik turns away, with a sideways glance at my ears.

"Stop it with the earrings already!" I protest. "Nothing's got to do with them."

"Are they supposed to be glowing green?" Ulrik asks.

Shoot.  I bite down on my lower lip, reaching up to undo them and see for myself.

"I'm kidding, Grimsenn.  Relax." Ulrik smirks and rolls his eyes.  I turn away, but I can't get the image of the eyes of the skull glowing, like a proper Death Mark...

---

Also, Astrid should definitely not win the Tournament.  Because of reasons my evil mind has concocted.  Including possibly her defecting over to the Death Eaters.

Mathis~

The feast is good.

Rosa and Caden seem to think so. They're eatting like maniacs, not even stopping to breath.

Once in awhile someone's eyes will drift over to our group. I guess it's because our school is tiny. Honestly, I think that this Hogwarts place is insane. How can there be that many people willing to take, and able to, for that matter, a magic education?! And how do they keep it concealed? I guesss they'd be able to, with all the wizards and witches here.

When peoples' eyes do travel over to our tiny corner, Cadge shoots them a look of malice, which isn't really helping. So much for still being on "speaking terms," headmaster Malfoy.

We're sitting on the edge of a table, next to some students who attend Hogwarts. There are four large tables, in fact, and we were sitting at the one with a snake banner over it. Slytherin. I'd read about the four different houses, and recognize this one as theirs. Rosa and Caden are sitting on the two a ends of the table, which means Cadge and I are next to Slytherin students, who seem to be feeling very uncomfortable.

But the feast is good.

"Hello, Cabinet of Irregulars!" Headmaster Malfoy appears out of nowhere. "Cadge! It's been awhile!"

"Malfoy!" Cadge says in return. "How nice to see you again!"

I wonder if either of them are really all that happy.

"So, Cadge," says Malfoy. "Which one of your three students are competing?"

Caden stops shoveling food in his face for a second. "What do you mean?"

Malfoy raises an eyebrow. "Didn't you know? Only two students from each school will be entered in the tournament!"

"Well, about that," says Cadge. He already knew. "I was hoping you could make an exception. Because we have three students."

Malfoy shakes his head. "Sorry, Cadge. No can do. The rules are the rules. They never gave Drumstang any exceptions, now, did they?"

Cadge frowns. "But--"

Malfoy cuts him off. "Sorry, Cadge. Anyways, welcome to Hogwarts, Cabinet of Irregulars!"

As soon as he had appeared, he's gone. Caden and Rosa have already gone back to shoving food into their faces. I haven't. Neither has Cadge.

"Why did Headmaster Malfoy mention Drumstang? He could've just said 'anyone in the previous tornament.' Of course, Hogwarts, I guess..." I asked Cadge.

Cadge rubbed the back of his head. "Well, you see, I actually attended Drumstang."

"What?!"

"Yep. I was here as a student for the last tri-wizard. But I guess this isn't a tri-wizard anymore, but a multi-wizard."

I looked at him in disbeilf. Sometimes, I'm never quite sure of all the things Cadge is keeping from us.
