Harry Potter RP

Harry Potter RP

Harry Potter RP

I recently watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and felt the urge to have a "Tri-Wizard Tournament" RP but this time with a twist so that not only three people participate. This is my idea. Instead of it being a Tri-Wizard Tournament, it's a Multi-Wizard Tournament. That means that the champions don't only come from Beau-Baton, Durmstrang or Hogwarts but they can also come from some wizarding school that you made up. The tournament itself will take place at Hogwarts.

I'll post my character later. Please join! I think this RP could be pretty fun. Plus, I don't think we've had an HP RP in a while.

One more important question: should this be before, during or after Harry?

Yes indeed! Up to the top! I was waiting to see if Elizabeth wrote, but so it doesn't die, I'll go ahead and write something.

Danielle ~

The following day was the beginning of the new schedule Headmaster Malfoy initiated. We were kept busy most of the morning, though the afternoon was kept free for personal time. Which meant over half the schools turned out who to see would put their names in the goblet.

It was stationed in the center of the great hall, tables and benches pushed to the side for spectators. It blue light cast an aura of excitement and fear coursing through anyone who entered the room.

I clutched a crumpled piece of paper in my hand, my name shakily scribbled across it. Legible, but barely, my hand shook so badly.

"Ready?" Susan asked, rocking back and forth in anticipation. She had no interest in participating herself, though she was anxious to see who would be.

"Yeah," I breathed, nodding. She turned and led the way down to the Great Hall. Already, the room was filled with people milling around, talking, gesting, and the general electric air of excitement and anticipation that comes with competition.

I strode confidently to the cup, and dropped my name inside. A round of applause echoed as I turned away. I sat down with Susan, excitement and anxiety making my body tremble slightly. I watched as other kids continued to pour in, one after another dropping their names inside.

Kyary-

We were assigned to the Gryffindor House, along with another group of students. Sleeping in the castle was surprisingly warm, although I still had trouble getting used to the dim cold of the castle.

In the morning we had a huge breakfast in the Great Hall and, after a short speech from Headmaster Malfoy, we were shown to a room where a stone goblet with multi-colored fire stood. The Hogwarts students were already gathered together, watching as their classmates dropped their name into the goblet, when the foreign schools entered.

The room went quiet and I could hardly resist pulling my long hair into my face so people wouldn't notice me. Aimi, naturally, smiled and waved like Miss Miri had told us to. And, of course, Aimi was the first of the foreign schools to drop her name into the Goblet. I saw people lean towards each other and whisper. Obviously, Aimi's entrance had had the wanted effect.

I watched as other students dropped their names into the Goblet, both Hogwarts and the guest schools. I would have to get up at some point to put my name in but I just didn't have enough courage to. The idea of all those people's eyes on me.

"I haven't seen you put your name in the Goblet yet." Only then did I notice a girl, wearing Hogwarts robes with her tie messily knotted and a green army cap.

I stared at her. How did she know...?

"So?" She smiled at me. "Go on. If you wait much longer you'll miss your chance." She put her hand on my shoulder and sort of nudged me. "Go."

To my own shock, I actually stood up.

Sorry, that didn't really go anywhere... Also, have we decided on the first task?

I don't think we have decided on an event...

Astrid--

"You go first!" Ulrik pushes me forward towards the goblet.

"No!" I raise my hands up into the air. "Ladies first!"

Ulrik looks at me funny. "That was my point."

"So go!" I say.  We're in front of the Goblet of Fire, waiting for someone to put in their name.

"Okay, do you want to just go at the same time?" Ulrik rolls his eyes.

"I have to think about it," I say.

"Why did you come if you weren't sure you wanted to compete?" Ulrik asks exasperatedly.

"Oh, I want to.  It's the timing is the issue," I say.  I'm just trying to get him angry now.

He stops talking and looks at the Goblet.  A few Hogwarts students have entered already, their friends clapping them on the back when they return.  One Japanese girl quickly drops her name into the cup, and there's a few murmurings that spread through the crowd.  She's the first foreign one to enter.

"Okay, that's it," Ulrik says.  He grabs me by the arm and starts to drag me in to the open circle around the cup.

"Oh my gosh, Ulrik.  I can do this myself!" I squeal, trying to get his fist off of my wrist.  I was trying to make him mad before, but now I'm really chickening out.

He wrenches my slip of paper from my hand and drops it into the fire, quickly followed by his own.  "There.  Now you can think about it," he hisses as I stand there in shock.  He drags me back to where we were standing.

"Excuse me." I turn around and a girl is standing behind me, trying to get to the Goblet.  She's the one I talked to when we first got here.  Kyary, I think.

I shuffle over to the side, gesturing for her to pass.  She walks through quickly and gets to the side of the Goblet.

"Now that," Ulrik says, pointing her out, "is courage."

Before we move on, what should the first challenge be? I know we talked about something water oriented, and maybe something with a creature of some sort. I'm cool with anything.

I think either the first or the second task should have a magical creature or water. It just depends on what is better as a first task...

I kind of like the magical creature as the first event.

I kind of like the magical creature first too. A water challenge seems too.. intense for the first challenge? I dunno, a magical creature just seems like a good, firm start. If that makes any sense.

In the books there was a good three month buffer between when the event was announced and when it actually happened so the competition spanned an entire year.  Should we do that, and have sub-plots or something, or just have the events within the week and just have more events?

Maybe we should go ahead and have the events within the week and add on as need? Also, should we do the whole Yule Ball thing?

I think going ahead might be a good idea, you know the nature of RPs.  I like the Yule Ball!

Exactly, those were my thoughts. And I'm good with the Yule Ball. So, where should we start now? Should we just go ahead to the name drawing, or fill in the time between us dropping our names in and the drawing?

I think most people have entered their names, and those who haven't, we'll just assume they did and continue.  It took the Goblet a day or two to mull things over, I think, so maybe some filler/inter-school greetings should be posted.  Or not!  It don't matter that much.  Uncertainty arises when there is no access to canon without going to the library, which is on the other side of town.

Mathis~

"Shouldn't we be entering our names?" I say to Cadge, as we, naturally, enter the dinning hall late.

"Don't worry," Cadge assures us.

"What sort of answer is that?"

"Yeah," Caden also wants to know. "Shouldn't we enter our names?"

"I said don't worry!" Cadge yells. The whole hall looks at him for a second, but then goes back to their chatter and breakfast.

We sit down next to the Slytherins. "Cadge," I hiss under my breath, "are you planning on cheating?"

Cadge looks back and forth  nervously before answering, "Don't worry about it."

"Cagde," I say, "have you don't any reaserch at all? They updated the goblet so it can tell when someone else entered someone's name because of what happened last time."

"...but if the goblet thinks any of you are good enough it'll choose you anyways..."

"Cadge!" I say. "Look at us!" I gesture at Rosa, Caden and I. "Do any of us look like a Potter to you?"

"...no." Cagde admits this grudgingly.

I grab a piece of paper and a ballpoint pen from my bag and write my name on it. "Cadge, cheating will get you nowhere. Esspecially with us. There's no point of cheatin for us." With that, I stride across the room and drop my name in the goblet, hoping that whatever Cadge has done, it's none too horrible.

*headdesk* Okay! *deep breath, trying to pull out of my torn apart million places at once mind* I'm going to attempt to write... something...

Danielle ~

Anxiety clawed at me for the next two days. The wait was completely unbearable, though Headmaster Malfoy managed to keep our minds off of it with his "schedule". Quidditch kept me thoroughly preoccupied in the mornings, then sore and pitiful in the afternoons. I much prefered my skateboard to a flying broomstick. I would tumble into bed at night, but anxiety kept me awake. Thinking at night was usually restful, though now it was keeping me awake. But finally,  on the evening of the third day, the name drawing was to take place.

"Quit looking like one of the ghosts!" Susan laughed, dragging me down toward the Great Hall. I wasn't exactly sure how I looked, I hadn't really bothered to pay attention, other than just slapping my cap on. I wasn't even sure I'd brushed my hair, though I doubted anyone would notice. My hair was always to short and messy to tell.

Emotions of excitement, fear, and anticipation flowed through my body, making a force that both propelled me forward and held me back. It also didn't make a good mix to try and eat anything. I sat near the Snow Queen students again, not that anyone else minded. Seriously, they needed to get over this freakish phobia of theirs. The mood in the room varied from person to person. Some were quiet, some could hardly contain their excitement, and some acted like there was nothing out of the ordinary. But when Headmaster Malfoy rose, the Hall went silent.

Excitement filled me, and my heart pounded in my chest. I sat up straight, breathing hard and fast.

**********************************************************************

So this was mostly pointless fluff, and yeah, I went straight to the name drawing. Forgive me, I just can't seem to write mingling or conversation. Something I really need to work on, but there ya go.Somebody can TOTALLY change this. It's stupid fluff, I admit, so change, change away!

*spins around swishing cape*

I am going to let someone else continue because if I wrote Malfoy's speech it would be really bad... But I will post soon.

So first event is magical creatures. Hippogrif (sp.?), centaurs, thestrals...? I sort of like the idea of thestrals but other animals are fine with me.
