Harry Potter RP

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Harry Potter RP

Harry Potter RP

I recently watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and felt the urge to have a "Tri-Wizard Tournament" RP but this time with a twist so that not only three people participate. This is my idea. Instead of it being a Tri-Wizard Tournament, it's a Multi-Wizard Tournament. That means that the champions don't only come from Beau-Baton, Durmstrang or Hogwarts but they can also come from some wizarding school that you made up. The tournament itself will take place at Hogwarts.

I'll post my character later. Please join! I think this RP could be pretty fun. Plus, I don't think we've had an HP RP in a while.

One more important question: should this be before, during or after Harry?

One question: do we all go into the challenge at once or is it a single thing like the dragon challenge in HP?

I think we decided to all go in at once. It would give opportunity for neat alliences and stuff. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

This is just my opinion, but I think somebody should die. (And possibly magically regenerate back to life)

I don't think killing off 1/7 of the character count would be a very effective...

Yeah, I think we had decided that we all go in at once and let chaos ensue from there.

Kyary-

I dressed quickly while listening to Aimi complain about the clothes not being skin-tight. I was quite happy with the outfits, simple black pants and a black shirt with a stripe in the school's color. In our case it was light pastel green.

Not knowing what to do, I stood around in the middle of the room with my hands folded behind my back, which probably appeared sort of strange. However Malfoy hadn't made much of an effort to make the tent where we were waiting comfortable.

Although we were a large group of people the tent was completely silent. All I heard was Ulrik's constant pacing and breathing. After what seemed like hours Professor Malfoy and Professor Chang walked into the tent.

"I hope you all feel comfortable." Malfoy's tone suggested the opposite. "Well, let us get down to business. In this challenge is a hidden clue to your next task. Your goal is to find it but it is not easy." He turned to Professor Chang who cleared her throat and continued. "You will not be sent in alone but all in a group. There are 10 clues hidden, so one for each of you. You just have to find it. Please, try to keep the violence to a minimum. We wish you luck. The task starts in two minutes." She smiled warmly and then followed Malfoy out.

"Together? But never in the history of the Tri-Wizard Tournament has it been like that!" I said.

"I don't think it's bad..." Aimi muttered.

"No, but it's another way to isolate us," said Astrid grimly (sp.?).

Danielle ~

Oddly enough, I wasn't feeling scared. I felt numb. I stood rocking back and forth, staring up at the tent ceiling though not really seeing it. I could hear Ulrik pacing back and forth behind me.

The fear started trickling in though when Headmaster Malfoy and Professor Chang walked in. I was shocked when they announced that we would be going in together. Sure, the second and third challenges had been done that way before, but the first task was usually there to show off the competitors individually.

"Together? But never in the history of the Tri-Wizard Tournament has it been like that!" Kyary cried.

"I don't think it's bad," Aimi said quietly, looking down.

"No, but it's another way to isolate us," Astrid said. I nodded in agreement. Each of our schools was depending on us to win. The more we looked like a united group, the more we'd come across that way to other students.

Suddenly fanfare started up, and Malfoy's voice echoed out above the sound of the audience. We lined up at the five tent entrances, two from each school. Jason stood beside me, looking slightly pale. I couldn't blame him. My own heart was thudding so hard in my chest I thought I'd burst.

The tent entrances swung open, and together, we stepped out into the view of crowd.

Astrid--

The tent entrances swung open, and together, we stepped out into the view of...

A tree!?

"Oh, that's just fantastic." Ulrik says. "So no one can see if we're all shot at with ten Basilisk heads..."  There is a slithering sound, and we all turn outwards of the tight clump we've formed.  There are ten snakes, each with monstrous heads, coming in on all directions.

I cast a protection shield, similar to the heat bubbles we used back when this whole mess started to combat the cold, around us all.  "It won't help for much, but it's something." I say. "And, gee, thanks, Ulrik, next you're going to be predicting killer ravens swooping down on us."

There is a muted beating of wings and cawing. "Say," Kyary asks, "are your woods normally, uh, cursed, like this?" she turns toward Danielle for an explanation.

"Normally?" Danielle asks. "No.  But, Malfoy is different.  And this might just be for the tournament."

"But what spell would cause this, whatever people say coming true?" Ulrik asks.  The protection shield pops, and everyone instinctivally pulls out their wands, except Aimi, who whimpers and curls up into a ball.

There is a hissing sound from behind me, and I whip around to find a Basilisk looking me in the face.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Danielle ~

My body was tense as we stood in a circle, our backs to the center.

"Avada Kedavra!" I heard Astrid shout. I was mildly surprised she'd used an unforgivable curse. But without using them, I doubted any of us would get out of here.

"Stupefy!" I shouted as one lunged toward Aimi. I heard more shouts from the others as the basilisks became more bold. Suddenly something flew at my head. I lashed out with my wand-free hand, hitting something large with my fist. It cawed loudly, beating its wings in my face.

"DUCK!" Jason shouted at me, and I hit the ground a split second before a spell shot the bird in the chest, sending it hurling into the trees.

"Thanks," I panted as he helped me up. Another raven, and another blast from someone's wand, though who I couldn't tell.

"Confundus!" I shouted, aiming at a large flock of ravens. They instantly became confused, bumping into each other or trees.

"Conjunctivitis!" Kyary shouted, aiming at a basilisk. It reared back, shaking its head wildly.

"Head farther into the forest," Astrid called during a momentary lull as the creatures were at least momentarily subdued. We moved onward as a group, wands drawn and at the ready.

Kyary-

We raced into the forest without looking back. I didn't want to know how many snakes were following us or if more were to come. I just wanted to get away and go back home to my parents where I could sleep in a cozy bed and read history books in peace.

"STOP!" I skidded to a halt, crashing into Danielle and sending us both into the dirt.

"Astrid? Are you nuts telling us to stop? I mean, we're running for our lives." Even though we were about to be eaten alive by snakes, Ulrik still was as sarcastic as ever.

"Did anyone notice that they have stopped following us?" Astrid raised an eyebrow at Ulrik, as if challenging him.

"Wait. That was it?" Danielle turned around in a circle, searching the woods for possible hidden threats.

"For some reason, it seems strangely quiet," said Ulrik.

I rocked back and forth on my heals, listening to the woods. Utter silence not even a leaf rustle but there was something else missing. I spun around. "Aimi's gone!"

Top! Top top top top!

Oh my gosh! This sounds awesome!!! I LOVE Harry Potter so much. I'm cool with any time period in the whole world,  sooo yeah. Here's my character.

Name: Odessa Malfoy (she is either a Malfoy, a Malfoy ancestor, or a Malfoy descendant).

School: American Wizardry and Witchcraft Training Academie.

Appearence: LIGHT blond hair in a pixie cut, has one tattoo of a stylized dragon on her bicep that supposedly 'fuels' her magic, small build, fair skin.

Age: 16

Talents: She is AMAZING at Divination (a born Seer), but she HATES Divination. Her favorite subject is Transforming (American for Transfiguring), and she is fairly good at that too. She has almost a sixth sense (Seer, remember?). She is an Animagus and her form is a LION (Gryffindor symbol), to every chagrin of her family).

Um.....so yeah that is my character. By the way, the American system of sorting is different. There are five houses (including British houses). The new one is Equntiya (ee-kent- tie-a). It is for people who are creative, dreamy, and artsy  (an ideal house for Luna Lovegood for example). She is (of course) in Slytherin.

Don't die!

Danielle ~

I felt my stomach turn to knots.

"Aimi!" Jason shouted, turning in a full circle. Silence.

"She's gone," Ulrik said flatly with finality.

"She's got to be okay, right?" Mathis said, though he sounded like he was trying to convince himself. "I'm mean, we're still just kids."

"With Malfoy, who knows," Astrid said.

"Enough," Ulrik snapped. "Aimi's gone, and there's nothing we can do for her. The best hope she has is us finding those clues as soon as possible."

With that, he marched off. I follwed right behind him. Despite how annoying Aimi could be, I felt sick at the thought of something happening to her.

***

We wandered around, tense, wands constantly at the ready. Nothing attacked, yet we didn't find anything either.

"What do we have to do to find these things?!" I finally sighed, thoroughly exasperated.

Nobody answered.

Suddenly, the air temperature dropped several degrees. I felt like ice was spreading across my skin. My breathing got fast and shallow.

"Oh heck," I muttered as we formed a circle, wands raised.

*********************************************************************

Dunno what that's leading up to. I'm just puttin' something out there. Change it if ya like.

Astrid--

"This is," I say, "just fantastic.  Absolutely magnificent."  We've instintively formed a circle again, our wands raised.  Danielle shivers next to me.

"It might be in our best interest to just find Aimi and work from there," Jason suggests.  The silence mocks our readiness to cast a spell.

"Let her die," Ulrik says bitterly.

"You're out-voted, Mr. Cynical," I say, lowering my wand. "Let's find Aimi."

***

"Aimi?"

"Aimi?"

"Aimi!"

"Are you dead?"

"Are you lost?"

"Aimi?"

"Wait, is that a tree?"

"Ugh, snow."

"Brilliant, just what we need.  Some precipitation."

We wander around the clearing where we started, wands drawn and calling out whatever we can think of, hoping that it will a) help find Aimi and b) keep one of us from being hopelessly lost.

"Hey, you!  Aimi!" I yell. "Please manage to escape from the Basilisk on your own so we don't have to use anymore spells!"

"That's definitely going to be helpful," Kyary says sarcastically.

"Well, it's worth a shot," I say.

"She's not up here," Danielle calls from the branches of the nearest tree.

"This," Ulrik says, "is not a normal Tournament."

"We'd noticed."
