Harry Potter RP

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Harry Potter RP

Harry Potter RP

I recently watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and felt the urge to have a "Tri-Wizard Tournament" RP but this time with a twist so that not only three people participate. This is my idea. Instead of it being a Tri-Wizard Tournament, it's a Multi-Wizard Tournament. That means that the champions don't only come from Beau-Baton, Durmstrang or Hogwarts but they can also come from some wizarding school that you made up. The tournament itself will take place at Hogwarts.

I'll post my character later. Please join! I think this RP could be pretty fun. Plus, I don't think we've had an HP RP in a while.

One more important question: should this be before, during or after Harry?

Astrid--

After a few minutes of relative silence and fish soup, I decide to start sizing up the competition.  The Hogwarts students are obviously too numerous to even count, but I take note of the air-headedness of Delly and Weasley.

I realize the most efficient way to go about is to follow Headmaster Malfoy's circuit around the foreign schools.  He is over in the opposite corner of the room, talking to what I realize as the American team.  They're the smallest registered magical school to date, with only three students.  All of them have come.

Malfoy leans in and greets the American Headmaster.  They exchange words, and there's some talking between each other.  Two of the students are stuffing their faces, but one talks conspiratorially to the Headmaster after Malfoy leaves.  The gluttons shouldn't be a problem, but the boy... he seems intelligent.

"I wonder what they're talking about." Ulrik says.  I don't know why, but I feel embarassed that he caught me spying.

"Probably something secretive." I say.

"Like they're all Death Eaters." Ulrik speculates, narrowing his eyes sarcastically and looking off into the distance.

"What is it with you and Death Eaters?" I ask.

"I'm opposed to them.  Isn't everyone?"

"Yeah." I say, trying to find some Hogwarts students that would actually compete.  Now that the age limit has changed, it's hard to single them out.

Instead, I look at the teachers at the end of the hall.  Professor Longbottom has gravy on his tie, and is sheepishly trying to clean it with his wand.  There aren't many other interesting things up in that direction.

"Is he a Potter?" Ulrik asks, pointing to a dark-haired bespectacled boy.

"Have you heard of a Potter in Hufflepuff?" I point out wearily.

"No, but he sure looks like it." Ulrik says.

I look at the boy for a minute more. "Barely.  He's more like a Weasley if you're going to accuracy." Potter and Weasley were an item back when they got married.

"Yes?" the Weasley girl pipes up.

"I was just saying to all of our visiting schools that the games are going to be absolutely excellent this year." Headmaster Malfoy announces from the Teacher's table.

"Obviously, with all of these amazing deathly events you rigged up." Ulrik turns toward the head of the hall, his arms crossed.

"Stop being so cynical." I say, trying to grin widely.

"Wipe that smile off your face, Grimsenn." he says.

I stay quiet, and turn to listen to Headmaster Malfoy.

Um, I'm just going to write cause I don't want this to die, so someone please change this if ya'll don't like it.

Danielle ~

I sat near the Scandinavian school students, cause frankly, I was curious. I didn't see why so many people were freaked out by them.

"I was just saying to all of our visiting schools that the games are going to be absolutely excellent this year," the Headmaster said, pulling me out of my thoughts. "This welcoming feast has been a success. Tomorrow, students will be permitted to begin entering their names for the Multi Wizard tournament. In three days time, we will draw the names to see who our competitors are. A final welcome to the visiting schools, and I look forward to the tournament."

(That was a really stupid pitiful speech. Somebody fix this.)

The Gryffindors rose, several glancing over their shoulders at the Scandinavian students. I still didn't see what the big deal was.

************************************************************************

This was incredibly stupid, but there ya go. I'm trying to keep this alive. YA'LL CAN CHANGE THIS.

Henceforth there is filler so there isn't too much advancement of plot when people aren't really here:

Astrid--

"I think we can safely say that the welcoming feast has been a success.  Tomorrow, students will be permitted to begin entering their names in the Goblet of Fire for the Multi-Wizard Tournament!" Everyone in the hall cheered, with the exception of some foreign students, including Ulrik.  The other Snow Queen girls squealed excitedly. "Three days hence we will draw the names to see whom the two competitors from each Wizarding school shall be!" There was more excited yelling and such. "A final welcome to the visiting schools, and I know that I am with everyone when I say that I am looking forward to this tournament!" I covered my ears with my hands as everyone screamed at the top of their lungs.

"Yay!" Ulrik said unexcitedly and waved his hands unenthusiastically.  Everyone in the hall simultaneously sat down.

"Hello?" A short teacher said timidly, stood on tiptoe on the front of the stage. "Hello.  I think it would be appropriate for each school to sing their own school song, as we are gathered here.  If the Hogwarts students would please rise and sing their song, that would be excellent." The huge amount of Hogwarts students rose to their feet and began singing haphazardly, without any defined melody.

"Hogwarts, Hogwarts,

Hoggy warty Hogwarts!

Teach us something please

Whether we be old and bald

or young with scabby knees.

Our heads could do with filling

with some interesting stuff:

for now they're bare

and full of air, dead flies and bits of fluff!

So teach us things worth knowing!

Bring back what we've forgot!

Just do your best

We'll do the rest

And learn until our brains all rot!"

The Hogwarts students sat down and there was polite applause.

"If the Snow Queen students could please stand and sing their school song, it would be much appreciated," the mousy woman said up at the front of the room.

I stood up, along with a few other girls who are giggling.

I'm so sorry. I have been so busy lately. This post is going to be really short but at least it's something.

Kyary-

The Snow Queen students sang a song in a language that sounded like a mix of German and Swedish. The melody reminded me of snowflakes, something about the pauses and the wintery tune. The ceiling even started to snow, causing some of the other guest students to jump up and run out of the hall. Were they singing some sort of spell?

The room suddenly came cold, no longer the bright wintery cold but dark cold as if something evil was blanketed over the room. The voices of the singers went quiet. Only one student kept singing, her eyes closed, swaying back and forth, almost as if posessed. Astrid.

The Snow Queen students glanced at each other, clearly this hadn't been planned. And then Ulrik stepped forward, touched Astrid's shoulder and the singing stopped. The hall was silent, watching as Astrid blinked and shook her head to clear it. Ulrik turned to the other students, signalling them to sit back down. The hall applauded politely but mostly it was a sea of whispers.

When Astrid sat down I suddenly noticed something I hadn't noticed before, little skull earrings dangling from her ear.

A shiver ran down my back.

Mathis~

"We have to sing a song?" I hissed at Cadge.

"So that's why we practiced music!" Rose exclaimed. "I'm so excited!"

"But... but we don't have any song to sing!" I pointed out.

"Maybe they'll pass over us in the crowd," Cadge says.

"Maybe," I say, not really believeing they would. "But if they do--"

"Shush!" Rosa hisses at me. "Hogwarts is begining!"

About thirty percent of the dinning hall stands up and starts singing a silly little ditty about life at Hogwarts. It's not bad, but it's not something I'd ask to hear again. When it's over, we clap, not only because it's polite, but because the Slytherin students are giving us looks as if to say "If you comment, we will kill you. If you don't applaud, we will kill you." So we do neither.

Next was the Snow Queen school. They stood up and began singing. Slowly, softly, but not without brilliance. Snowflakes started falling from the ceiling, as if the song was a chant for bringing forth snow. The girls came to the end of their song, all except for one, who was still singing, still chanting. The other students of Snow Queen were looking at each other, until a boy stands and touches her on the shoulder, and she stops. The Snow Queen students sat back down, and the dinner hall was filled with polite clapping and anixious whispers, firing themselves from table to table.

"Next, Cabinet of Irregulars." I don't even hear who says it. I turn to Cadge.

"You said they would pass over us!"

"I guess not!"

"What are we singing, again?" Caden asks. Cadge quickly pulls some sheet music out of his bag.

"What is this!?" I ask, horrified.

"Just our school song!" Cadge exclaims. "I whipped it up on the train ride here."

"But... we've never sung it before!"

"It doesn't matter! You can all read music right?"

"Is there a problem?" the teacher who asked us to sing our song is curious.

"No, miss," Cadge says. "Don't worry! You guys will be great!" Rosa and Caden nod, totally serious. I feel like I might be ill.

"A one, a two, a one two three GO!" Cadge says.

"They might judge us, based on our SIZE," Caden, Rosa, and I sing offkey, "but in the end they'll be SUPRISED, because each of us has two EYES, and we don't usually tell big LIES, because we're the CABINET OF IRREGULARS! You'll find that WE'RE QUITE REGULAR! We're a secret undercover wizarding school!"

I want to close my eyes, since I can tell we're only halfway through, but I know I need them open to continue singing.

"We'll learn about magic, as well as LAW, and we'll learn how to weild a CHAINSAW, and in the end we'll be lauging HA, as well as singing FA LA LA, because we're the CABINET OF IRREGULARS! You'll find that we're QUITE REGULAR! We're a secret undercover.... A secret undercover, A secret undercover wizarding school!"

I sit down automatically as soon as I finish the "l" in school. Caden and Rosa are still standing up though, taking in the polite applause and snickers, like it's the proudest moment in their life.

As if they didn't underestimte our school before, I think. Now they have a reason to.

"Sit down," I hiss at Rosa and Caden.

"What?" said Rosa. "They're still taking in our beautiful song."

Taking it in, yeah. The snickers have already turned to chuckles, and the Slytherins sitting next to us are lauging hysterically.

"That went great, you guys!" Cadge congratultes us. Rose and Caden are beaming. "I do think you should sit down, though."

Great. Yeah.

Astrid--

"Aren't you glad it's cold out, otherwise you would have brought acid rain on the entire school." Ulrik jests.

"Shut up." I say, shoving his shoulder.

"Oh my god, that has never, like happened before!" one of the girls squeals. "How did you do that?  Didn't they, like, take away our wands?"

"I don't know what that was, okay?" I hiss.  The American school is singing their song.  It sounds rather improvised, which has resulted in some strange rhymes.

"Very regular indeed." Ulrik snorts sarcastically.

"It was good for a group of three." I say.

"And your little solo there was great for a group of one.  What're you trying to do, psyche everyone out?" Ulrik asks.

"I have no idea what is happening!  Everything is crazy!" I say, gesticulating wildly.

"Obviously." Ulrik rolls his eyes. "Now if only a Death Eater were to corrupt everything, all would perfectly result."

"Well, one is clearly in the position to." I nod towards Headmaster Malfoy's direction.

"And he will.  You know the Goblet's rigged." Ulrik says.

"Once." I say. "And that was during the reign of Voldemort."

"You know, Horcruxes are a thing-" Ulrik starts.

"Be quiet!"

Danielle ~

The Gryffindors rose, and the traditional Hogwarts anthem started up. I was ready to beat my head against the table. And Susan got WAY too into it.

"Sing!" she hissed, still smiling through the words. Out of how many kids singing, how could she tell I was lip syncing? Oh well, that's Susan for you. We all sat down quite quickly after that, though Susan was still beaming. Seriously, how could she do that? Then the Snow Queen students sang, giving me literal chills down my back. Then the room became silent and cold, aside from one student singing. Susan grabbed my arm, nearly making me jump out of skin. Even after the singing stopped, and people started talking again, I could still feel the chill on my skin.

Next were the Americans, who weren't too bad. A bit improvised, I figured, but still good. I applauded genuinely, nudging Susan to do so as well. Heck, compared to ours, we really had no room to judge.

Finally, the singing was finished, and after a final word from the Headmaster, the feast was brought to a close. Hogwarts students stood and drifted off toward their houses' common rooms, talking in small groups. I followed Susan in a sort of daze, lost in thought. Excitement was welled up inside me, in anticipation for the Multi Wizard Tournament. Everything that had happened in the Great Hall moved to the back of my mind. I was ready and game.

Astrid--

After the singing ordeal, the Hogwarts houses lead their various guest schools to the common rooms, where we are expected to socialize or something.  We've recieved temporary schedules for when there aren't competitions, and Ulrik and I are looking each other's over.

"Since when did Quidditch become such a huge deal at Hogwarts?" Ulrik asks.

"I do not know, but some of these things don't necessarily look like Quidditch related things..." I say.  Four hours in the morning are devoted to Quiddtich practice, and there are other things that are definitely not classes in the afternoon.

"Hi, I'm Dannie!" a girl with unravelling golden curls says.

"Ulrik," Ulrik says quietly.

"I'm Astrid!" I say. "Are you planning to compete in the Tournament?"

"Yes! I'm really looking forward to it."

"Do you play Quidditch?" I ask.

"I skateboard." Dannie smiles.

"How many players does that involve?" Ulrik asks haltingly.

"It's not a team sport, it's more of an individual kind of thing," she explains.

"So it's a racing sport?" I suggest.

"No.  I just do it as a hobby."

Ulrik is looking at Dannie like she is crazy, when I realize we can get some information out of her.

"Is this schedule- like, without any actual classes- normal?" I ask, pointing at the huge Quidditch block.

"Kind of, well, it was," Dannie says. "It's a new initiative of Headmaster Malfoy's, where areas students are prominent in are focused on extensively so we have more job opportunities and more direction after graduation."

"So Quidditch is considered a normal nine to five job?" Ulrik asks.

"No. I think he put that there for the tournament."

"I'm really confused... ," I admit, and then laugh a bit.

"Everyone is," Dannie says. "You'll get used to it."

I had one question: do the foreign stundents sleep in the different houses or do they have separate rooms?

Having foreign students in houses is better for character mingling.  I think in the book the foreign students were based in the carriage and the ship, but since we all got to Hogwarts by Portkey or equivalent...

WE MUST GO AGAINST THE CANNON!
