Spontaneous RP!

Spontaneous RP!

Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).

So, let's just do some writing.

two rules.

1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.

2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.

If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:

http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463

just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.

Without further ado, let us begin.

~

"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"

"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.

"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.

"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"

"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,

"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.

"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.

"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.

"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.

"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.

"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.

"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.

"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.

"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.

For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.

Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch

P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.

I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

@Rose bud yeah Sacra has grey eyes that shine silver when she uses her magic.

Sacra~

They dash off, and after a moment's indecision, I run after them. Somebody named Dom is in trouble, and if I can help, I will. They may not want me to, but I will. These people remind me of something, memories stirring unreachable in the far places of my mind. I grab my surfboard, which I had left tethered to a pole nearby. I think fondly of Andromeda's first wave. I remember my first wave. It was - I shake my head and pelt after the others. At the very end of the beach, near the jetty, far away from the tents and anybody else, they plunge back into the water. I throw my board in front of me and start paddling violently. I catch up to them and yell to the aura girl.

"What's going on?" She looks over at me, her head bobbing in and out of the salty water.

"I don't know! All I know that Dom is in trouble!"

"Who's Dom?"

"Our friend!"

"Oh. Where is he?"

"In the ship!" I look out to the water, and I see the ship I saw falling from the sky earlier. It is being thrown unmercifully by the underwater surges against the jetty.

~~

Good? I did something that I thought could be something Dom hasn't encountered before and thus seems a lot more dangerous than it would. I don't live near any beaches so can somebody tell me if this would be an actual threat? Thaaaaanks. :)

Top, but also, here’s a sketch of little Jai and Nixie. I feel like this is basically a summary of their relationship. I apoligize for the lighting!

THAT'S SO CUTE! I wish I could draw like that. And that's exactly how I imagined the two of them!! I'm not much of an artist, but I really want to draw all the characters. Maybe I should work on that.

I have not drawn anything in a loooooooong time. So I've kind of forgotten what people look like, but here's a sketch of Andromeda. It doesn't capture her personality as much as I'd like. She's just kind of walking and shooting blue sparks.

I love her outfit! I think it looks amazing. :D

Thank you for the compliments! I have to say, art is just about capturing the character, and I think everyone is good! I should probably get back to writing...

Sorry! I've been busy with the first day of school. I might not post as often cause school but I'll do my best!

And I was thinking... dolphins!

Saphira~~

I shake my head in disgust as we once more plunge into the sea. I hate the feeling of the salty water sliding through my wings, and I just know it's going to gunk them up! It'll take me ages to get it all off! As we get closer to the ship, I can see strange gray-blue creatures with a sharp fin circling around the ship. They swim up to it and bump it curiously.

"What are those things?" I ask, thinking that they're kinda cute.

"They're dolphins." The silver auroed girl says.

I glance at her "Are they dangeours?"

"Not really. They're just curious." She says.

"I see." I say, "DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE ANIMALS! THIS GIRL (DON'T KNOW HER NAME YET!) TOLD ME! THEY'RE CALLED DOLPHINS!"

Everybody looks relieved that the dolphins aren't going to hurt them. I swim up and get onto the ship and look around. All though it's floatling, part of the ship is underwater and can't be reached.

"Hey, isn't this hard to fix with the ship stuck out in the middle of nowhere?" I ask.

"Uh, yay. But I don't know how we're going to get it to shore." Dom answers.

"I might be able to teleport it... possibly. I've just started learning so I'm not quiet sure I could do it." I offer.

"Hmm, might get back to you for that." Dom says.

And that's all! I'm so tired this is all I've got.

Dominique~

"Hmmm, might get back to you for that," I tell Saphira, then turn to call down our options to Dathan.

The airship rocking in the water rolls violently to one side, throwing me back against a corner. Reaching to the edges of the curved walls to find balance, I plant my feet on the tipping floor.

Someone laughs. Looking up, I see Andromeda's face in the entrance hatch, framed in a patch of sky with faded edges of clouds.

"Hey flyboy, you called?"

"Actually, that was Dathan." I tap on the engine hatch with the wrench in my hand. "He's panicking. A little."

Dathan's voice rises against the hatch, which gently muffles it.

"I'd say a leak, damage to the outside, no fuel on a planet unfriendly to alien tech, and minor engine damage is a justifiable cause for panic, yes," he says, then finishes with a yell and clatter as the ship rolls again. I shrug.

"We can't get much done caught in this current, and I don't think we should take it onto land. I did some looking around, and this place isn't friendly to alien tech. In fact, they are creative, but far behind Monere and its surrounding star systems," I explain, popping open the hatch to hand the wrench down to Dathan.

"So what should we do? We're stuck here." She leans against the entranceway, dripping water onto the ramp that leads down into the jumping, flashing, strange blue water.

"I mean, that wouldn't be half bad. Sun, sand, that thing with the wave board...thing..." she trails off, leaning back in an arch and stretching her hands out to the sky.

A sudden spray of water flecks the airship as a blueish-grey form shoots out of the water. Pheonix is with it, holding onto its fin and being pulled along at a surprisingly fast speed.

"Hey Andromeda, look at the dolphins! They're friendly!" He says, grinning like someone stuck a star in his mouth.

"Pheonix, leave those things alone," Andromeda warns, looking less concerned for Pheonix and more for the dolphins.

The silver-haired girl popped up next to him with a splash.

"It's okay, they seem to really like him," she comments.

"Everything likes me! How could they n—" Pheonix' cheeky statement ends in a gurgle as he dives under again with the dolphin.

Andromeda turns back to me.

"Sooo..." she raises her hands, "stuck here."

"Right. Until we can find a fuel substitute or something else to charge the light energy," I finish. Andromeda turns to look over her shoulder at the rest of the group bobbing in the water. Her eyes linger for a second on the silver-haired girl, who floats slightly separated from the group. Around her, the water seemed to almost glow. But of course, it's probably just the sun.

"I might have a crazy idea," Andromeda murmers.

*

So, what if Sacra's magic can charge the Light Energy of the airship?

~ Myrtle ~

"We're here," the ringmaster calls out, gesturing to the red and white tent, "This is where we'll perform today."

A woman scurries out with a lei and flowers pinned into her hair, "Welcome!" she says, "Please, come in."

The doors open and we spill out into the bright sunshine. I look around: tourists are everyone--a perfect audience for the show. Palm trees sway in the breeze, with vendors yelling, "Coconuts!" and "Pineapples!" Beyond that is the ocean, breathtakingly beautiful. In the distance, there are surfers and small white sailboats. Closer, there is an abandoned stretch of beach, and beyond that...

"What that?" I ask, pointing to the silver boat-like-thing bobbing wildly in the water.

The woman shrugs, "Crazy tourists. Come, follow me."

Before following the woman into the tent, I cast one last glance at the silver boat. A boy with yellow hair that looks dyed pops his head out of a hatch on the top.

Crazy tourists.

I follow the woman into the tent and close the flap behind me.

"Dress rehearsal!" the ringmaster bellows, and we scurry to our positions.

Also, an idea to tie Myrtle into the story, maybe they could go to the circus at some point?

submitted by Fidelity
(August 17, 2018 - 8:54 pm)

Oh, good idea! Then after it, I was thinking the circus could go on a celebratory boat ride, then some accident could happen resulting in the boat tipping over or something (maybe as a side effect of Sacra charging the rest of the crews' ship with silver magic?) and Myrtle could fall out... then go onboard the spaceship... and become part of the crew!

Saphira~~

I frown as I think about the teleportation... somthing's bugging me. I look out over the sea and remember what's bugging me.

"Ahh no! I'M SO BEHIND!!!!" I shout, pulling out my phone and frantically tapping at it.

"Uh... what are you behind on?" Jaihra asks.

"School! I'm so behind! I'll be doing summer school for years!!! I forgot all about it! Look at all these assignments I have to do!" I scream, waving my phone around like a crazy personn.

Jaihra starts laughing so hard she almost falls down.

"What's so funny?" I ask.

"We're on an alien planet, with no way out, and you're worried about school?!" She gasps.

I start giggleing as well, "Well, when you put it like that maybe I shouldn't be so worried. I'm going to go see if I find some tacos, do you want to come with me?"
