Auzrivlia RP

AUZRIVLIA: ROLE PLAY

Well,

I am starting a role-play, finally!

Auzrivlia is a story I've been working on for some time, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and it's a wee bit too similiar to some of my other stories, so I figure I'll put it out on the CB and see what happens. No-one has to join, I just figured I'd try it out...

Okay then!

Auzrivlia is a city made of gems and enclosed by a magical mountain range, so no-one can get in. Long ago it was founded by two people, Gemani and Orion (yes, named after the constellations). Gemani accidentally woke an ancient spell which endowed all her descendents with magical powers, while Orion's descendants remained normal.

Back then, Auzrivlia was a place of welcome, with merchants and travelers coming in and out. But then an evil lord rose to power, overthrew the leaders, and closed Auzrivlia's borders. His descendants rule Auzrivlia today and use its power to take other countries.

Here are the descendants' possibe powers, but your character can be normal, too.

Manipulator--you can make anyone do what you want, but it takes a serious physical toll.

(Note: with all these elemental powers, you can semi-control the element--but only if it wants to listen.)

Watercurver--you can speak to water.

Firecurver--you can speak to fire.

Windcurver--you can speak to wind (although in this case it's called singing with the wind).

Earthcurver--you can speak to the earth, plants and stones especially.

Ethercurver--you can speak to the matter of the universe.

Animspeaker--you can speak to animals.

Emoreader--you can read emotions.

Telewave--you can hear thoughts.

Telekenetic--you can move things with your mind.

Futureseer--you can see the future.

Mage: you have all these powers.

Ok, that's it, but it's worth noting that, thought the characters don't know it yet, we should keep in mind that the rulers are lying and there is a way for "normal" people to have powers. I'm not actually sure what that way is yet. And mages are mysteriously vanishing…

One last thing: no-one knows if they have a power or not until they turn 13.

Please:

Be respectful of others in this roleplay.

Don't role-play overly with other people's characters, no more than is necessary for the story.

But, also, introduce twists! Fun things! Unexpected turns! Secrets! Keep things moving forward!

Of course, no-one has to join. But, as I said, this is just a fun experiment on my part!

Ok. Charrie sheet! You can be as detailed or brief as you like.

Alright, as mentioned, this roleplay will begin on the 16th of October, assuming, of course, that my family doesn’t have any plans for then! We can also push it back to the 19th depending on how many people join—if any….:) :| ;-

I am also open to suggestions for improvement of RP quality.

Bye!

Why does my head hurt so much?

Come to think of it, why does everything hurt so much?

The world is all hazy, too, and everyone's emotions are filtering in and out of my head all jumbled, like I can't tell whose is whose and which are my own.  And someone is grabbing my arm, and it kind of hurts, and I REALLY don't need a sore arm right now.  "Get off of me, you...

"You..."

And I remember everything that happened.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask, pushing and pulling and biting as hard as I possibly could.  The man holding me doesn't even flinch.

"Shut up," says the man beside him.  "We're almost there, so can you please sleep just a little longer?"

"Me shut up?  You shut up!  Where are we even going?  Answer me!"

Then an unusual emotion enters my head.  It's in the middle of a city, so all kinds of random people's emotions are flying through my head, but... this one is sharper.  More familiar.

Or maybe that's just mine and other's feelings getting mixed up again, because the other person has just been shocked by something they recognized.

I twist my head and spot her.  And from the startled look in her eyes, she's seen me, too.

"Ha--" I cut myself off before finishing my sentence, but the police notice anyway.

"What is it?  What do you see?"

"Don't humor her.  She probably just wants to distract us so she can escape."

"WHERE ARE WE GOING???"

"Where do you think?" says the one holding me in a bored voice.  "You committed treason, breaking and entering, stalking, resisting arrest, among other things.  You're being arrested.  I already said that, so shut your mouth and COOPERATE!!!"

_______

Hey guys.

So I uh... kind of avoided this thread for awhile because I wasn't sure what or when to write and contribute.  I'm really sorry; I should have at least said something. I swear I'll post again really soon.  Again, I'm so sorry.

Hi Reuby Moonnight,

I'd be glad to let you join the RP! We've already done like 11 pages so you'd better read what's happened so far! But after that, please go ahead and join!

Hi Tsuki,

it's no problem that you didn't post for a while, I'm guilty of the same! We're getting *relatively* close to the conclusion (still a few pages away, probably). This role-play has been going for FIVE MONTHS! FIST PUMPS, PEOPLE!

||HALEY||

I cursed my lack of powers. I tried to tell Celesti with my eyes: We'll rescue you! Don't worry! The only problem was, I couldn't be certain this was true.

"VITO." I poked him. "That girl--"

"The one the captured?" He frowned. "I wonder why they captured her. She doesn't look impressive."

"She's my friend." I lowered my voice. "We need to save her."

"The priority is Audrun Spikelet."

I shook my head at him. "Idiot. Celesti can help us, right Tsume?"

Tsume stared across the street at where the guards were now snapping handcuffs onto Celesti's wrists. "What I think," she said slowly, "is that they're taking her to the city anyways. Probably to the same place Audrun is. We can rescue them at the same time."

I wasn't sure, but Vito agreed, and he was our transportation, so that was that.

"How are we going to get in?" I asked. "They only let guards through the gate."

"I'm a manipulator, remember?" Vito growled, easing his foot off the brake. The car glided forwards.

We watched as the police officers (dragging a groggy-looking Celesti) disappear through the gate. A minute later, Vito shoves a hoodie into my hands. I notice he's given them to the others too. "Put those on so the guards don't recognize you," he growled.

We did.

Vito stuck his head out of the window. “Request access to the inner city,” he said boredly.

“Name?” said the guard.

I don’t know what changed in Vito’s voice, but the tone became suddenly deeper, darker. “You will let us through,” he said. “You will let us through, and you will not tell anyone of our passage. Once you close the gates, you will forget our existence.”

The guard’s eyes glazed over, and he pressed a button, raising the gate. Vito drove through. As the gate slammed down behind us, I couldn’t help shivering with foreboding.

||AUDRUN||

First I went to the guard’s room, found the smallest uniform there, and put it on. It smelled horrible, but you do what ya have to do. I also found some weapons and equipped myself with a tranquilizer gun (I didn’t think I could bring myself to use a real one, no matter what the guards thought I was capable of).

Once I was ready, I grabbed a walkie-talkie just in case the guards started asking questions, and set off through the place. Hopefully, if anyone saw me from a distance, they’d think me a young guard and walk on by.

Now, where to looks first? Well, I decided, maybe I should look for blueprints of this building, to help us find our way in later. But where would those be?

The library, I decided, studying a “YOU ARE HERE” map plastered to the wall. The library archives. But knowing this city, I’d need an ID card and passcode to get inside.

Well, no matter. I could probably steal one. If I had to.

Surprisingly, the library needed no identification to get inside its regular room, but the archives did. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY, it said on the door, plain as day.

I poked the little scanner attached to the area above the knob. Sighing, I turned away. Time to employ my (nonexistent) thieving skills.

I snuck to the edge of the room and peeked out. There were a few guards in the hallway now.

I slipped out and, soundlessly, lifted an ID card from the guard’s pocket using my telekinesis. the card wobbled through the air and landed in my hands. I snuck back in, swiped it, and punched in “MAGE.” It worked.

Wow, they really ought to keep their passwords separate, I thought, sliding into the archives.

||Audrun||

The archives were old and smelled of dust and must. The shelves were stacked, not with books, but with scrolls—hundreds of them. Thousands of them.

Overwhelemed, I sank to my knees. It was all too much.

“Can I help you?” said a voice with a slight hiss to it.

I half turned and saw, with a sinking heart, Cassiopeia standing, facing away from me, running her hands along the shelves.

“Uh,” I stammered. “Your majesty…I didn’t expect to find you here.” I had to pretend I was one of the guards. had to. Had to.

Think of the play.

“No-one ever does,” Cassiopeia said. “No-one ever realizes that I spend my days here, among the scrolls, reading history of Auzrivlia…”

I leaned against the wall, glad it was dark in here.

“Which one are you?” she asked. “I don’t know all my guard’s names.”

“Uh…the new guard, Your Majesty…Squire Sampson. Evan Sampson.” I decided to come up with a normal name, but one that wasn’t boring. Evan Sampson fit the bill.

“Hm…I see.” Cassiopeia nodded. “Is there anything in particular you’d like to find?”

I shook my head, then paused. Deciding to take a risk.

“Um. I was looking for the building’s blueprints. I hoped to find the route by which the Mage escaped.”

“You hoped to…excuse me?”

“Find the route by which the Mage escaped,” I repeated, carefully maintaining my mental block.

Cassiopeia hissed and slid to her feet. “Which Mage?”

“Audrun Spikelet, Your Majesty. I thought you knew. He escaped not half an hour ago.”

“WHAT?!” Cassiopeia sped towards the dopr, then paused. “Sampson, the blueprints are in Isle 7. Shelf 3 from the bottom. Return them to their place when you’ve finished. I must deal with this.” And then she was gone.

I shook my head in wonder as I flicked on the archive’s lights. I had contacted Cassiopeia and I had double-crossed her.

Wow!

I quickly found the blueprints. Rolling them up, I stuck them in my bag and headed for the door, then paused.

What if there were thousands of other important documents in her? I certainly couldn’t take them all…

I went to the nearest shelf and, for the first time, accessed my futureseeing powers.

I felt an instant tug towards a different shelf. letting the futureseeing power guide my hands, I lefted a single scroll fromt the shelf. Without bothering to look at it, I stuffed it in my bag and ran from the room. Alarms began to sound as more people discovered my abcesne—and, likely, Courtney’s too.

I walked around the building a while more, finding nothing. At last, I concluded that the blueprints and whatever this other scroll was would have to do. I took the elevator to the bottom floor, having set of an alarm upstairs. Everyone should be there by now.

“Should” was not a certain word, and I opened the elevator to the sight of several weapons pointed at me.

“Don’t move,” said the lead guard.

||Haley||

Crystal cursed in my head. I winced. Have you located him?

Yes! she shouted. I HAVE! And he is BEING ATTACKED BY GUARDS!

WHAT?! I relayed the message to Vito, he scowled fiercely.

"This is bad," he said unneccesarily.

"You think?!"

"We need to save him now," Stephanie gasped.

We jumped out of the car. Crystal, tell Master Voyti we need help now! I yelled.

Alright! Want me to tell him in the old language? I messaged.

This is serious!!! Haley sent back.

Fine! I yelled.

*After Finding Voyti*

"We have located Audrun who is being attacked by guards," I said in monotone.

"What do you want me to do?" Voyti asked.

"Nothing. Haley wants you to help." I said.

"Of course she does."

"Are you going to help?" I asked.

"Yes, and you are too. Get ready." Voyti says.

"Why me?"

"I can't have you missing out on your lessons."

"Of course that's your reason."

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><<><><<><><><><<>

<><Vito><>

JUST GREAT! Audrun is being attacked. Well, hopefully Crystal will tell us where he is. I noticed Haley looked even more angry.

"What did Crystal say?" I asked.

"I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT." she said.

"Geez! You don't have to be so loud!" I complained.

"Oh, shut up! You're not exactly being quiet either!"

I glared at her before returning my focus to finding (and saving) Audrun.

We meet again,” I said with a smile. “A pleasure indeed, good sir.” Inside, I was panicking. I had to get out of here!

I berated myself inwardly for not checking first before I strolled out.

Of course, there was an easy fix. I stepped into the elevator and hit the button for the fifteenth floor.

Nothing happened.

“We’ve frozen the elevators,” warned the guard. “You have nowhere to go. Surrender.”

“Well actually,” I said, “since I’m pretty sure Cassiopeia’s going to kill me now anyways, I’m willing to take a few risks."

Then I ran.

||Haley||

Crystal, WHERE IS AUDRUN?! I yelled.

Hang on. We're on our way.

Well finally, I grumped, then reported to Vito.

Shouts came from up ahead. My eyes widened.

"COME BACK YOU LITTLE--"

"It's Audrun!" I shrieked.

"Where's Audrun?" Crystal demanded, flinging herself out of the sky.

"There." I pointed. Audrun was running along the side of the building with about fifty guards after him. As I watched with bated breath, he spun around and threw up his hands; leave and dust whirled into the air.

"Audrun?!" I shouted.

He turned and his eyes widened. "Haley? Stephanie?" His eyes skipped across us. "Um...did I miss something?"

"The fugitives," said a cold voice.

I looked up. A figure was descending from a balcony, balanced on a cushion of air.

Voyti's eyebrows knit together. "That would be...Cassiopeia. How very annoying."

"WAAAAAIT--who?" I said.

He gave me an exasperated look. "Crystal will explain."

"WAIT WHAT" Crystal said loudly as Voyti strode forward.

YAY! Thanks for posting!
