Auzrivlia RP

AUZRIVLIA: ROLE PLAY

Well,

I am starting a role-play, finally!

Auzrivlia is a story I've been working on for some time, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and it's a wee bit too similiar to some of my other stories, so I figure I'll put it out on the CB and see what happens. No-one has to join, I just figured I'd try it out...

Okay then!

Auzrivlia is a city made of gems and enclosed by a magical mountain range, so no-one can get in. Long ago it was founded by two people, Gemani and Orion (yes, named after the constellations). Gemani accidentally woke an ancient spell which endowed all her descendents with magical powers, while Orion's descendants remained normal.

Back then, Auzrivlia was a place of welcome, with merchants and travelers coming in and out. But then an evil lord rose to power, overthrew the leaders, and closed Auzrivlia's borders. His descendants rule Auzrivlia today and use its power to take other countries.

Here are the descendants' possibe powers, but your character can be normal, too.

Manipulator--you can make anyone do what you want, but it takes a serious physical toll.

(Note: with all these elemental powers, you can semi-control the element--but only if it wants to listen.)

Watercurver--you can speak to water.

Firecurver--you can speak to fire.

Windcurver--you can speak to wind (although in this case it's called singing with the wind).

Earthcurver--you can speak to the earth, plants and stones especially.

Ethercurver--you can speak to the matter of the universe.

Animspeaker--you can speak to animals.

Emoreader--you can read emotions.

Telewave--you can hear thoughts.

Telekenetic--you can move things with your mind.

Futureseer--you can see the future.

Mage: you have all these powers.

Ok, that's it, but it's worth noting that, thought the characters don't know it yet, we should keep in mind that the rulers are lying and there is a way for "normal" people to have powers. I'm not actually sure what that way is yet. And mages are mysteriously vanishing…

One last thing: no-one knows if they have a power or not until they turn 13.

Please:

  Be respectful of others in this roleplay.

Don't role-play overly with other people's characters, no more than is necessary for the story.

But, also, introduce twists! Fun things! Unexpected turns! Secrets! Keep things moving forward!

Of course, no-one has to join. But, as I said, this is just a fun experiment on my part!

Ok. Charrie sheet! You can be as detailed or brief as you like.

Ok! Here’s my character. There’s no limit to characters you can create so I’ll post a few more later.

 Name: Audrun

Age (keep in mind that no-one has powers until they turn thirteen, and your character cannot be aged above 16): turning thirteen tomorrow when this role-play begins, which let’s say will be on the 16th of October or so.

Appearance: floppy brown-black hair; blue-green eyes; wears ragged clothing on purpose; pale skin

Personality: sometimes a little cocky, very brave; wishes he’d get a cool power

Backround: He grew up with a normal family, going to the regular school, and has a crush on Stephanie (a character I’ll post later)

Gender/pronouns: He/him

Power (no more than one per character, unless they’re a mage): Well, nothing yet, but he’s going to be a mage. Don’t tell him!

Strengths: Very brave and protective; also agile.

Flaws: Sometimes accidentally hurts people’s feelings

Other: n/a

Alright, as mentioned, this roleplay will begin on the 16th of October, assuming, of course, that my family doesn’t have any plans for then! We can also push it back to the 19th depending on how many people join—if any….:) :| ;-

I am also open to suggestions for improvement of RP quality.

Bye!

I grab my map to the camp and we walk outside. I breath in the fresh air.

||Vito||

I watch as Crystal, Audrun, and someone else sneak out of the house. They have a map. Strange.

||yuyua||

I run through the woods. It feels nice. I know school is in session, but who cares. I called in sick. Soon, I begin to get a headache. I run home and notice that weird person.

||Stanley||

I notice Yuyua. He's watching someone. I can't see who. I hide and watch him.

||Audrun||

Crystal was leading us strongly and confidently. She checked the map, leading us along a creek that ran through the woods. I'd never been so excited, although I worried about Haley. Where could she be? I hope she's safe.

I was going to meet a whole CAMP of mages! I couldn't believe this! How had they excaped detection? How were they here? Where exactly where they? Who--I shut off my thoughts as I noticed Crystal raising her eyebrows at me.

"I've never met anybody as curious as you," she observed. "It's slightly annoying!"

I tilted my head. "Didn't you feel the same way when your mom took you to the camp for the first time?"

She looked away.

Smiling, I glanced back along the creek. I saw a dark figure leap behind a tree! My heart bumped up to twice its normal speed. With a shaking finger I pointed back along the trees. "There's some one there!"

Ok! The next part is important: I AM GOING TO MAKE A CHARACTER SHEET FOR CASSIOPEIA. She's the villain, obviously. Anyways. Any of us can write from her perspective. She's a shared character. I'll post my drawing of her later. Ok...

submitted by Shining Star, age 13 eons, The Milky Way
(December 5, 2021 - 1:45 pm)

I will wait for you to post it. Also, please post on Um I want... soon! Do you think I should give it a name? Instead of Um I want...?

submitted by Pancake
(December 5, 2021 - 2:27 pm)

Ok, I'll break a few of my own rules to make her character sheet. Here goes.

Name: Cassiopeia

Age (keep in mind that no-one has powers until they turn thirteen, and your character cannot be aged above 16): Ageless. i.e, IMMORTAL Surprised

Appearance: Raven black hair, super pale skin, blue eyes, wears red and black alllll the time.

Personality: Evil. Ok, to go deeper into it: manipulative, impassive, uncaring, passionless, *hundreds more equal adjectives*, deceptively beautiful, deceitful, eloquent, convincing/pursuasive, cruel

Backround: Was one of the three original Auzrivlia founders but got jealous of them and felt like she wasn't being treated equally. Then something happened between her and Gemani ((I'm still figuring our the details)), and Cassiopeia was so angry she...well, it's unclear, but no-one ever saw the other two leaders again. Whether Orion and Gemani are still in captivity remains to be seen...

Gender/pronouns: she/her

Power (no more than one per character, unless they’re a mage): Archmage. I'll explain more farther down the page.

Strengths: Convincing, many many things (too many to list)

Flaws: Believes she's too powerful to be defeated.

Other: N/A

Ok! Now, I shall explain what an "Archmage" is.

Archmage--a mage, except hundreds of times more powerful than normal mages. For instance, with the power "Manipulator", instead of simply being able to command someone to do something, 1) an Archmage could command silenty and 2) they could make someone actually see/feel something. Let me emphasize: YOUR CHARACTER CANNOT BECOME AN ARCHMAGE OVERNIGHT. This is not something you're born with; it's a result of practicing your power for...centuries!

Now I'll do a bit from Cassiopeia's persepctive, and you can too! I'm going to use third person (she) instead of first person (I).

*|Cassiopeia|*

Cassiopeia leans on the balcony, closing her eyes. The sun is burning in the sky, sinking slowly. She smiles without mirth. There are things going on in this city that she doesn't appreciate.

Steps sound on the stairs and Cassiopeia turns. It's her son, the Governer. She smiles at him and he jumps, like everyone does when they see her smile.

"Uh--uh--Cassiopeia--"

"Lady Cassiopeia."

"Lady Cassiopeia. They escaped."

She has a moment of panic, believing he is referring to the captive mages. But no--he would be more panicked than that if that was the case. He knows what she would do to him if he lost her power source.

Nevertheless. There are other dangerous prisoners in the dungeon. Her heart nearly stops at the thought of the shapeshifter escaping. What havoc that would wreak on my perfect reighn!

"Who has escaped?" she demands.

He checks the paper in his hand. "The--the new mage, Lady Cassiopeia.  Audrun...Spikelet." He pronounces the name carefully, but Cassiopeia does not care about pronunciation. She flies across the room and seizes the paper from his hands.

"WHAT? A mage is on the loose in my country? And you haven't caught him yet?"

"N-no, Lady c--"

"WELL," she bellows, startling him, "GET EVERYONE OUT THERE! EVERYONE POSSIBLE! I WANT THIS MAGE FOUND AND RETRIEVED BEFORE HE CAN FIND HIS WAY TO SAFETY--OR WORSE, START DESTROYING MY REIGN." Taking a deep breath, she composes herself. Assuming her usual uncaring deposition, she glides back to the railing. "Do it now."

"Yes, Lady Cassiopeia." She can feel his resentment from across the room. Did the fool think I'd drop the search? No mage can be allowed to remain free.

Except me.

*||*

Hope everyone likes it. When you write from her perspective, it would be cool to just try and give the smallest hints about the many secrets she hides, but not outright reveal them. But you do whatever--just remember, whatever goes on in Cassiopeia's head, none of the other characters know about it!

I'm so sorry I didn't post earlier, but I could not keep up with this RP!!!

~Ruby~

Why are my parents so protective? They didn't even let me go to the ball! Thankfully, being a mage I managed to get them to belive I was in my bed, pouting. By the time I got there everyone was filing out and I heard,"A MAGE HAS BEEN FOUND ON THE GROUNDS! PLEASE EXIT IN ORDERLY FASHOIN! I REPEAT".... but I wasn't listening. There was a voice, far away and faint, but I could here it. What was it saying? As I listened closer I could here bits and pieces, "A whole camp of mages?....... How were they undiscovered?" I followed that voice until I could see the people, witch took a while, because they were moving FAST! Once I caught up to them I watched from the shadows. There was another person following them and the boy - was his name Audraun- noticed him. Judging from his thoughts he was trying to covince himself that he imagened it. This'll be a long night, I thought when I heard all of the thoughts of this strange gang.

- Cassiopeia-

I can't belive there's a boy on the loose that I didn't know about! My enternal life just got a bit more interesting.

I shake my head nervously. "Maybe I imagined it." The person is gone.

"Great," said Crystal snappily. "If you're done hallucinating, let's leave." She seemed jumpy.

I glanced back at the trees. There was no-one there.

Shaking my head, I followed crystal.

She checked the map again. "Hmm. We have about 5 miles more to go."

"5 MILE?!" I yelped. I could feel my feet ache already! "But I just escaped from the government. Why couldn't we rest first?"

Crystal gave me such a look that I snapped my mouth shut. "Right. Lead on, Miss Mage."

I felt Stephanie slip her hand into mine. "Can you believe that just two days ago we had a normal life?" she asked.

I shook my head ruefully. "Not at all."

*

An hour and a half later, Crystal's steps slowed. "Let's see." She scanned the trees. "We're a short distance from the camp...let me warn you that the guards are rather dramatic. They should be appearing..." She raised a hand, counting down. "...Right about...now."

Two figures dropped from the trees. "HALT NOW IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIVES!" one screeched, waving his spear.

It would've been impressive, if only they hadn't been holding the spears upside down.

||||||||

@Pancake, you're up.

@BookPhoenix, maybe Ruby could follow them to the camp? Just an idea.

@Tsuki, please post soon!

-Cassiopeia-

She paces back and forth, the latest report seething in her brain like a thousand snakes. She cannot believe the nerve of this mage. Running away? From the government? The last one who dissobeyed her was--no. She shuts down the thought. She mustn't think of him. She must never think of him.

----------

Naturally, the person she's thinking of--er, not thinking of--is her husband. Wink Won't tell you any more for now!  Sunny says PCwok.

"Hey! It's me! I came here last year! REMEMBER??" I say.

"Oh, uh, sorry. BUT THESE PEOPLE CANNOT PASS!" the guards said.

"They are "friends" of mine. Let them through!" I say/

"Fine. Master Voyti is waiting," they said.

"Thanks you, pathectic guys..." I mutter.

"Hmm?" They say.

"Nothing," I say back.

The camp is just as amazing as before. My friends are climbing trees, Seri is standing around and being "pretty". Every single boy is standing around her. Seri is my enemy. We hate each other. Audrun and Stephanie stand there is shock. There are about 20 people. More than expected I guess. I introduce them to Master Voyti. Voyti assigns Stephanie with cleaning. Audrun will be put in beginners. They won't see each oher too often. I run over to my friends and chat for a bit. I notice Seri. She has noticed Audrun and i talking to him. Stephanie isn't working right now, so she just glares at Seri. I run over and say, "Hi Seri." "Oh, it's you." she answers.

"Nice to see you. Now what are you doing?" I ask.

"Hmph! Like I would tell you!" she says.

"See ya!" I say and hide behind a bush while they don't notice me. I can hear seri's thoughts. I refuse to repeat them, though.

That's all for now!

||AUDRUN||

How. Is. This. Happening.

I was in a secret camp for mages. This had to be a dream!

A very pretty girl with long eyelashes comes up to me with a smile. "You are new?" she purrs. "Why, how nice. I'm Seri. What's your name?"

"Um--um--A-audrun," I stammer, having little experiance with talking to pretty girls.

She smiles. "What a unique name!"

"S-seri is nice too," I cough. I noticed Stephanie glowering in my direction and blushed. "Um. So. What exactly--I mean how--I mean, what do we do here?"

"We learn how to control our magic! Like this!" She shot out here hand and vaporized a bush, revealing Crystal behind it. The older mage looked shocked and annoyed. Seri gave a syrupy giggle.

"Wow!" I said. When Seri looked the other way, I willed a bush to vaporize. It did not.

I guess that's why I'm in a class.

I looked around. "Where do I go?"

"The camp for beginners is that way," Seri said, pointing to a sign that said, "BEGINNERS." "I'm in the proficient stage at magic." She grinned.

I glanced at Stephanie, who was staring at her feet. Suddenly her head snapped up. "So...that's it?" she said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "Welcome to a super-secret, illegal mage camp, get on cleaning duty and goodnight? No explanation, no tour, nothing? You realize my world was just turned upside down right?"

"Yeah, me too!" I said. "This is all goingo much too fast for my liking. Why aren't you explaining why this is here, when it was created, who created it? How about a little history, people?"

____________

So, I thought the founder of the camp could be Cassiopeia's husband. Just a thought.

THAT JERK SERI. I will kill her one day. When we were younger, I promised that I would not let anyone kill her so I could kill her one day.

"This is all goingo much too fast for my liking. Why aren't you explaining why this is here, when it was created, who created it? How about a little history, people?" Audrun says.

I run over and say, "Seri doesn't know this, so I'll take over. The reason why we aren't explaining is because it will be explained once your classes start. It was created about twenty years ago. Master Voyti created it. You get history later. Also, all of the staff members are mages."

"I could have explained it to him!" Seri huffed.

"Well, too bad!" I snap.

"What are the ages of all the mages?" asks Audrun. "They all have to be over 13, right?"

"Nope! Some mages like me and Seri, have stronger magic, so we can use it before. We can only fully control it once we are 13," I say.

Suddenly, Master Voyti appears. "Audrun, it is time for your training. We will explain everything. Also, *walks over to Stephanie* I forgot to tell you that you can be trained for your magic during weekends. Also, there is a group of non-mages who will be helping you will the cleaning."

_______________________________________________________

Here are the answers in case you want to/don't want to say them for Audrun's training: The history is pretty short. It was created when mages began appearing. Before anyone knew about their powers, they were sent to this camp. At first, they would work on small spells, then work their way up to harder ones.

"Audrun and the others are getting farther away, but there's someone following them," I tell Haley and Celesti.  "All we need to do is get the person off their trail before he tells the other guards."

 Dodging terrified students and similarly frightened guards, we make it out of the school building.  "They're walking to Crystal's house," I whisper.  I can't actually make out Crystal's thoughts, a fact that displeases me greatly, but everything she says whirls through Audrun and Stephanie's minds, so I can make out what's happening easy enough.  "This way."

We're a few yards behind them when I hear a small, electronic crackling sound in a bush next to us.  Flinching slightly, I remember government officials are trained to block off their minds.  Oh, no.  We should have been more careful.

A whisper.  "Hello, Officer Smith?  The mage is--"

 I jump in the voice's general direction.  I miss, of course, but nonetheless it startles the person enough for me to compose myself and lunge again. I snatch his transceiver and toss it to Haley.  "Catch," I say.  "We might need it."

I think for a moment.  "Nighty-night."

||Celesti||

We drag the unconcious policeman a few blocks away, into a secluded alley where hopefully no one will see him and call the others until he wakes up, and we walk back the way we came.

"Oh, haha, we're not supposed to know that,"  Tsume remarks casually.

"Know what?" I ask almost before she finishes speaking.  "Another secret like how the government chooses who gets powers?"

"No." Tsume rolls her eyes.  "It's... well, I'm actually going to wait to tell you, as your mind is unprotected.   It's clearly only been a secret because everyone involved has been trained to block out Telewaves, and the only reason I know is because Audrun and Stephanie lack that.  If a secret like this were to fall into the wrong hands, it would be disastrous." She pauses, and I catch a flicker of annoyance that she hadn't known about it before now.  "Haley, you'll find out soon enough.  The three of you are close, are you not?"

"Are you trained to block out Telewaves?" I know the answer even before I finish.  If she knew how, chances are she would have known how to block my Emoreading as well.

She glares at me.  "I'm working on it."

"Should we follow them?" asks Haley.

Tsume hesitates.  "Well, Celesti and I at least won't be welcome, and you'd probably only be allowed because of your connection with Audrun."  Longing and curiosity flicker through her, though.

"Are they safe?" I ask.

"...yes," Tsume says.  "I think they'll be protected."

"Maybe we should stay here, then," I say despite my burning desire to know the secret.  "Keep an eye on things, throw people off their trail."

"But Tsume can't block other Telewaves from entering her mind," Haley points out.  "If we stay here, other people could find out."

"True," says Tsume begrudgingly.  "Perhaps... we should split up."

My heart plummets.  All this time, I had been excited Tsume was thinking about us as a team, no more "I can do this alone" stuff.

"Haley and I can follow them, me because I can't stay here, and Haley because she's their friend, and that way I won't just be some random girl who followed because why not.  Celesti'll stay here, because they probably won't want another uninvited guest and we need someone to keep tabs on the situation here."
